Escola Records is back in the game with their second release, a Broken Beat & futuristic Deep House odyssey.

On the first side Karmasound & Sara Bee open the EP with the uplifting soulful summer anthem “Esperándote,” full of choppy live drums, jazzy keys and sweet, melodic vocals.

Next, musclecars deliver a dreamy remix of “Esperándote,” putting a futuristic twist on classic soulful NYC deep house. Lush and sensual, with a beautiful vocal outro, the remix has a warmth reminiscent of nighttime summer heat.

“Trencacintures” (“waist breaker”) is the second original track of the EP, by Barcelona’s JP Sunshine & Guim. The title of the track is a playful reference to its “broken” rhythm. Magical keys and intergalactic pads create a cosmic atmosphere on this fun tune.

On remix duties we find the house producer Hugo LX taking the original on a deep excursion to the dance floor, adding breaks that make the track irresistibly groovy.

Samosa continues its white-hot streak for 2021 with the release of Maracuja EP, marking the welcome return of fellow Italian master of the groove – Musta.

This dazzling four tracker is Musta at his very best. Intricate and diverse, hypnotic, tribal – all the ingredients are in the melting pot here to deliver a truly distinguished and captivating release which has the Samosa stamp all over it.

Leading on the A side is ‘Welcome (To My Africa)’ – which immediately kicks off with a sumptuous rolling bass, distinctive hi-hat and rhythmic bongos to draw you in. In an instant, you’re surrounded by layers of African rhythm guitar, sharp brass and woodwind with the most infectious vocal chants. This really is Afro-Funk at its finest – a bouncing, rocking, rhythmic bomb of a track which will fill any dance floor.

Next up is the EP title track, ‘Muracuja’. With this, Musta has created a funk infused mid-tempo stomper which wastes no time at all in getting us to the centre of the action. The slapped bass, tribal beats and brass stabs lead to a glorious, harmonised tribalistic chorus which is suddenly awash with flowing key changes and melody. The breakdown only serves as a brief respite before the senses are hit again with a swirling ocarina, chunky bass and clavinet groove tidal wave. An absolute gem that is bound to feature in DJ sets and charts alike.

On the flip side, we start things off with ‘Cosmic Cut’. The drum heavy intro lasts seconds before the instrumentation subtly kicks in like a distant train approaching. The rhythm is insanely addictive; sophisticated Afro beats flow over you whilst the sizzling vocal combines perfectly with the spellbinding deep bass. This type of sound has the Samosa fingerprints all over it. Intoxicating and enthralling in equal measure, this will slide easily into any DJ set.
Closing the EP out with considerable style is ‘Cumbuco’, which is another magnificent cut of expertly crafted world music. Musta quickly lures us in with a conga beat and rolling drums; building nimbly to a mesmeric bass line and an almost ethereal looped vocal chant. Then we’re hit with the sax – oh my! A sax so dirty you want to take it outside and hose it down. This is one sexy and sensual express train combining funky bass, contagious rhythms, outrageous organ sweeps and sophisticated sample loops. A perfect final act for a sensational EP.

The Maracuja EP is another nailed-on winner for Samosa Records and is sure to fly off the shelves and onto the dance floors in the blink of an eye. Don’t hang around – get this one in your record bag quickly.

After the first Jam experiment back in 2019 here we have the second chapter of the Bosconi Gang Band session pressed on this limited white label hand stamped & numbered waxx.
This jam was recorded in front of an actual crowd in an event held at Manifattura tabacchi Florence on the 21st February 2020 just a couple weeks before the pandemic started and the first lockdown happened in Italy.
The concept is the same as the previous one with Fabio Della Torre on the mixer conducting the gang mysitc gulf this time with: from left to right Ennio Colaci from Minimono, Dukwa, Rufus, Andrea Giachetti & Antonio Pecori from "The Clover" and Dj Rou.
As it happened with the previous release, the actual jam follows the order of the live execution which naturally developed in a crescendo of speed and intensity.
The result is a collection of 5 of the best takes slightly mixed and revisited afterwards but very much faithful to those performed live.
This is another adventurous release that goes well off grid, plays with strange temps, original textures and moods.
Bosconi Gang Band aims to be an itinerant live improvisational project open to all artists who have released on Bosconi Records that sets the goal of always being unpredictable and special, naturally affected by the artists who perform always creating something unplanned new, and unexpected.

The 1979 Jimmy ‘Bo’ Horne gem, “Spank” was an essential DJ tool from back in the day. It was then dubbed out by Brooklyn Express in ’81 and called “Sixty Nine”, with it’s alternative on the flipside being called “Change Position 88”! Fast forward to recent times this gem’s been operated on by Dutch big hitter, HP Vince (Midnight Riot, Tropical Disco, Masterworks, Samosa, King St etc) where he stays true to the original.

On the flipside present-day Nu-Disco royalty the Dr Packer (Glitterbox, M2MR, Salsoul) presents his new version, never before available on vinyl. The Dr revives and prescribes jams like no other and delivers yet another party monster.

Brand new label Four Framed Music kicks off with a fantastic four track EP from Manuold.

Emanuele Macagnone aka Manuold was born in Palermo in Italy and is a producer, remixer and DJ who has released on legendary labels like Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse Records, Esuoh Records, We_r house and Crystal Grooves.

He brings his many inspirations to the fore here right from the off. Life is Now pumps a slick 90s house vibe with swirling pads and a standout vocal. It’s full of warmth and soul and then Intense cuts up a more funky groove, with weighty kicks swinging down low and a killer bassline. The vocal really soars and brings a fiery vibe. On the flipside Metropolis then layers a classic vocal sample over glitchy drums and slick tech beats. It’s robust and designed to make a real impact in the club and last of all Palermo Centrale flies ahead on swirling cosmic pads, with wood block hits, raw textures and future facing vibes.

This is another fresh EP from the always essential Manuold.

Proto-future Pop exhumed from '86, Romie Singh's 'Dancing to Forget', could easily be mistaken for an up-to-the minute R&B instrumental from '22. The song's elastic swing reminiscent of a vintage Wally Badarou Compass Point session. Instead masterminded by studio maestros Günther Janssen (more lately of Donna Regina) & Peter Hantke, while Romie's vocals soar above. It's a timeless call to escape life's ill's via the dancefloor.

Collected here on Strangelove the cavernous, dubbed out 'D.T.F.' (12" version) sits alongside the prescient hope/dystopia of LP cut 'Future World' (cue Covid World) and the killer balearic-beat sass of 'Credo' A short sharp 3 track jolt into the trio's cult 80's catalog. Shouts to Basso for the original resuscitation!

2001: Guillaume Atlan is nominated with 'Starlight' at the MTV Awards in the best French artists category. 20 years later, the first generation French Touch (Modjo, Demon, Cassius, Stardust, Etienne de Crécy etc.) is almost gone. Among the few still active, The Supermen Lovers, who will release his fourth studio album, 'Body Double', end of May.

A reference to Brian de Palma's film and its perfect plastic, the disc bears witness to the many artistic encounters and tumults of love that feed Guillaume during his trip to Kyiv from 2018 to 2020. Love can move mountains but can also destroy a man. Demons and emotions will make him go back to the studios, firstly in Kyiv, which reminds him of Paris in the 90s : strong energy, a thirst for discovery, creation and pure spontaneity. Straddling 2 musical bodies, the heart of Body Double balances between vocal electro-disco and clubbing, without forgetting this analog/digital jumble dear to Guillaume. He is an electro producer, a DJ, but above all a multi-instrumentalist. Machines in contact with “real” instruments…

Six years after delivering his debut album - a digital-only affair called TruSkool - Demuir has finally got round to recording a follow-up. The Toronto native's brand of house is chunky, groovy, deep and funky, taking cues not only from previous collaborators such as DJ Sneak, but also those of his contemporaries that make great use of dusty samples and killer drum programming. As a result, Visions manages to work both as a collection of club-focused cuts and an album you can listen to repeatedly from start to finish. Our picks of a pleasingly strong bunch include the fluid, disco-tinged, Hipnotic-sampling brilliance of 'Mind, Body & Soul Call Me', TUSH hook-up 'Skylar' (a superb slab of gospel-tinged soulful house) and the delicious Fred P collaboration 'Dream (Part II)'.

Three generous portions of blissful beats on the Electric Shrine imprint, kicking off with the downbeat (in BPM terms) but lively 'Solar Visions' coming on like a dub mix of a lost Chic classic, 'What You Love' more like prime-era John Carpenter remixed by a mischievous Orb and 'Un Amore Supremo' a slow motion (one of the slowest we've ever encountered) reverb-fest, designed for more eccentric chillout rooms. And that's all before the opera singer pitches in.

Although he's been releasing music since the tail end of the noughties, it's a while since vinyl lovers got the chance to hear fresh material from Trevor Vichas. This surprise 12" for the fast-rising Purveyor Underground Ltd label is therefore a welcome surprise. On title track 'Miss Nice' Vichas wraps jazzy guitar, keys and vocal samples around a chunky, loopy, filter-sporting deep house groove. Demarkus Lewis successfully takes the track up a notch or two on his accompanying remix, before Vichas doffs a cap to the jazz-fired Chicago boompty sounds of Greens Keepers and Mike Dixon on 'Monday Jazz'. The Come Connect mix of that track, which rounds off the EP, is a pleasingly bumpy, bass-heavy and energetic revision that's crying out for peak-time plays.

One of Piero Umiliani's most dancey tracks ever is finally available again on 12'' vinyl, both in its original version and in a special edit retouched by Jolly Mare that further increases its dancefloor potential.

Discomania was recorded by Umiliani in 1978 under the moniker Rovi (one of the many aliases he used at the time to avoid saturating the Italian library music market with his name), and sounds wonderfully in tune with the then-emerging cosmic disco scene, brimming as it is with Afro, disco and black music influences. In short, it was expressly conceived as music fit for the discos of the time (or the idea that Umiliani had of them). Moreover, Discomania enjoys a special place in Italian pop culture, having entered the collective imagination of national TV viewers between 1981-1987, when it was used as the closing theme song for RAI television football program 90° minuto.

This single launches RELOVED, a new series from Four Flies in which accomplished DJs and producers rework tunes from Italian golden age soundtracks and library music.

Choosing Piero Umiliani for the first release in the series was almost inevitable. Four Flies has devoted much of its archival music research and restoration efforts to the Florentine composer, contributing to expand his discography with two compilations featuring plenty of previously unreleased music (Studio Umiliani and L'Uomo Elettronico), as well as with various represses of seminal albums, the most recent of which is the library LP Paesaggi.

And who better than Jolly Mare, one of the label's greatest friends and collaborators, to put a contemporary spin on Umiliani's original track? As previously shown in Alessandro Alessandroni's Afro Discoteca Reworked and Giuliano Sorgini's Africa Oscura Reloved, the two records out of which the idea for this series was born, the Apulian DJ and music production wizard is perfectly at ease with reworking Afro-cosmic disco sounds.

Starting this autumn, future RELOVED releases will come in two different formats: special-edition 12-inches focussing on individual composers/themes, and 7-inches co-curated by Little Beat More and each containing a rework (on side A) and its original (on side B). The underlying aim is to give new life to absolute gems from the great but still relatively underrated legacy of Italian film and library music, launching them into the world of international clubbing.

NYC Disco legend Danny Krivit returns to the editing block on behalf of seminal Miami Disco powerhouse TK Disco. With 45 years in the DJ game under his belt and having played endless gigs all over the world during that time it's safe to say Mr.K knows exactly what he's doing when it comes to the re-edit thing! With unprecedented access to TK's vaults Danny has been turning in some stellar reworkings as of late and the cuts included on this latest instalment keep the quality sky high!
The Ritchie Family's sunny 1977 b-side 'Summer dance' is a roof raising soulful stormer of the highest degree! 100% Disco heat, a record that would have gotten numerous spins in the 'real' Disco clubs and dance-floors upon it's release. It has it all - soaring string arrangements, driving percussion breakdowns and of course, top shelf vocals from Cheryl, Cassandra and Gwendolin. With those super crisp drums upfront in the mix, punctuated by orchestral stabs this edit is perfect for the DJ's, and will be a welcome go-to cut in the booth! Don't snooze...
Wild Honey were a soul trio from Texas, here their 1976 number "At the top of the stairs" - a deep vocal track - gets the Mr.K treatment with Danny editing the vocals out and giving us a rolling, string laden stomper. With a respectful, slight rearrangement he manages to bring a new slant on this already well loved underground Disco jam pushing it into the stratosphere! Pretty heavy stuff indeed, not for the faint hearted but for the dancers! This one is sure to ignite any club lucky enough to hear it bursting out of the speaker stack! Another essential edit!
Of course, Danny Krivit's edits are always done in the proper manner, from the point of view of someone who has lived, breathed and played this music for the best part of 50 years. 100% legit re-edits, from Danny's personal collection, remastered and released in conjunction with Henry Stone Music / TK Disco - Miami FL.

1988: Six years after entering the music scene, and just a few months after the release of the teen, 80s earworm, “Bonne bonne humeur ce matin” by Tristan, the producer and arranger, Michel Bassignani, recorded “Tu me tues” in Belgium. Dissatisfied with the result, Michel went back to the drawing board at Waldbery Studios in Paris recording all instrumentals (except sax). After hearing his new work, Dominique, a high school pal, proposed to sing for Bassignani. Dominique's stage name became Maureen, and in addition to the single and extended versions, the duo recorded a “Dance mix”. We asked Jkriv to express is talent to produce a new version of this classic music track. Pardonnez-nous, but check it out!

We're happy to report that the music on the 'Son of a Biscuit' EP from Kuwahara aka Mick Wilson and Scott Gray is every bit as colourfully eccentric as the title it bears. 'Ginger Cut' is dubbed up cloud of sound billowing over choppy hip-hop breaks, with an old skool female MC poking her head out of it to have her say every now and again. Rich Tea's edit of the track takes it into housier territory but, like one of those old Orb ambient singles singles on Wau Mr Modo, still gives plenty of work to the studio's echo chambers. 'Jaffa Quake' goes for snazzy, jazzy overtones and off kilter breaks, 'Kustard Cream' offers up reggae skank, again served up with plenty of sonic exotica, and there's even a more relaxed, Balearic bonus mix of 'Ginger Cut'. A thoroughly nutty record, but a genius one at the same time.

Not the usual electronic Italodisco classics, but here come some more organic sounding band-disco music from the time of 1976 - 82. Positive vibrations and high quality dance pop reworked for today's advanced dancefloors by Toy Tonics head honcho KAPOTE and his Italian friends BPlan and Paul Older. Some of these edits already have been released as bandcamp only, but because of extreme demand for vinyl Toy Tonics did this limited edition double vinyl release.

This one starts off with an amazing disco house track by Mark Funk, "I Believe", one of his best selling tracks to date, followed by "Run It" from KACZ, great jackin track, one of our favorites so far.
The B side presents Danny Cruz and his "Piano Hustle", a true secret weapon, great funky track to get the party started in the right way.
B2 is another jackin track by BDK, groovy with an amazing bassline.

The summer starts beating to our doors and now that the nightmare of the pandemic (looks like) is coming to an end, mysterious dj and producer Hal Incandenza has taken over the control of MM Discos in order to get the things warmer and rock the dance-floors and festivals around the world.

Besides his amazing skills as producer, Henry Saiz the man behind the project of Hal Incandenza, has also made his path in music as songwriter, musician, graphic designer and dj.

This time introduces us to "Incivitas", a killer track that oscillates between House and Nu-Disco ready to dinamite the peak time of the most selected clubs. Hypnotic, selvatic and very wild.

Things turn even wilder with "Ceremony", highly influenced by the legacy of Daft Punk while Marvin & Guy closes the EP with an epic italo-dance version of "Invicitas", if you wonder why the duo from Parma are one of the fitter guys when it comes to burn down the house, just have a listen.

St Petersberg's Dobro label is noted not just for the quality and playability of its funky house and disco re-edits, but also for its value for money. This, their seventh release, is another great example, with no less than six floorfillers included on one 12", each bringing their own individual mood to the table. 'Flowers Festival' from Sun Rhythms has throbbing organs and fruity keys, topped off by a gorgeous Russian vocal. DJ Merci's 'Timetable' goes for chunky rave pianos and Fairlight stabs, lending it an 80s Italo-disco feel, before Ground Plane Aerial's 'Transition SP' closes the side with slap bass and stripped down house vibe that echoes some of Roule Records' more accessible moments. Side two VIGI's 'I Am You', is the most memorable of the whole package, with its idiosyncratic female vocal weaving a magical spell around the listener, before we finish off with a double whammy of Monny Me's swirling stringfest 'The Name Of The Game' and the parping horns and strutting groove of Ugly Frankie's 'Free Alcohol Shit', the latter including a bewitching and unexpected piano solo. Great work all round.

Ilija Rudman adds his outstanding touch to these two Classics - reworking and editing a pair of pearls on either side of a 7”. Favourites of many in their original form, ‘Classics – Versions EP’ sees Rudman strip down the arrangements paying special attention to the essence of the vibe.

A new lease of life injected into the grooves, just like those versions were done in the studio way back when - as special B-sides for special moments.

Freestyle digs deep to reissue this rare UK boogie 12" by Take Three, originally released back in 1983. Forming the first drop in a new reissue directive from the label, focused primarily on unearthing rare and classic UK funk, soul & boogie.

Fronted by former South London lovers rock vocal harmony group, Alpha (sisters Jackie & Jean Heron and Marlene Richardson), Take Three was the brain-child of writer/producer trio "S.H.E." - Steve Sinclair, Peter Hinds & Kevin Ellis.

Meeting each other at The Factory community centre in Paddington (now known as the Yaa Asantewa centre and in the last few years, The Yaa Centre) Steve & Kevin began a partnership writing and directing their own theatre productions as part of The Black Theatre Co-Op, which called the centre home at the time. When a song they had written together for one of their productions received praise and plaudits, the path toward writing and producing records began, bringing in more seasoned hand Peter Hinds - formerly a member of key brit funk groups Light of the World and Beggar & Co, and player with Incognito, Imagination & Loose Ends - to complete the circle.

The Tonight's the Night 12" was pressed up on their own label Fast Forward with distribution provided by Andy Sojka's Blackmarketing, and would be the first commercial outing for a creative partnership that would spawn multiple projects/aliases spanning the UK soul, funk & dance scenes, and still continues to this day.

WildRecords is thrilled to release this twisted reinterpretation of the legendary US underground disco medley, “On & On” by Mach. A certified party banger, heavily rotated on some of Berlin’s finest dance floors, it finally merits its place on a single-sided 12”.

Crossing between disco’s darkest edges and uplifting ballroom dance music—with hints of Düsseldorf’s beste elektronische musik, Summer’s seductive ‘Bad Girls,’ and P. Cowley’s mystical touch—this mischievous record will suit a variety of DJ sets and is sure to make the crowd sweat wild.

“On & On” by Mach is the record that inspired Jesse Saunders’ “On and On”, released in January 1984 on Chicago’s Jes Say Records. The story goes that Saunder’s copy of Mach’s record was stolen one night, so he decided to create his own version—marking the birth of House music.

Volume 11 of the Masterworks Music journey comes in the form a four track e.p. of edit gold from Russian producer, Valique.

'It's Hot (Heavy Boogie Edit)' opens up proceedings, laying down a guitar driven, synth boogie gem, heavy on the squelchy top lines, weighty bass and full-frontal female vocals. 'Think About It (Not Too Long Edit) then takes you into peak time disco territory - sun drenched, beefed up, filtered and phased for maximum dancefloor vibrations.

Flip it over and you're hit with an infectious guitar lick and bumping bass from the off on 'One Chain (Makes No Prison Edit)', before that killer vocal joins the party. Finally, rounding off the e.p. 'Hypnotizing (Wanna Be Free Edit)' treads a more late-night path with a hypnotising vocal sample coupled with panned cosmic pads and percussion, sure to entrance any crowd it's put before.
