In the world of electronic dance music, Âme stand apart. Since 2003, the duo of Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer have cut a singular path through techno, house, minimal, ambient and more with their anthemic singles and mixes. But 2018 reveals their finest achievement yet, their debut full-length album Dream House. It both sounds unmistakably like Âme and unlike anything you've ever heard from the duo, an evocative home listening journey enacted after 15 years spent crafting dancefloor weapons.

From "Made By Desire" to "Remade By Desire": The Uncanny Valley label from Dresden, Germany curates a remixed and reworked version of the debut album by local pop heroes ATNA and takes us on a trip through various styles of Club Music, electronic Pop excursions and music college Rock'n'Roll. After the initial idea two years ago, "Remade By Desire" is now an album that puts the ATNA songs into new musical context, but sounds surprisingly coherent given the stylistic diversity of the artists involved. It's as if all the musicians had attended a studio retreat for a week and experimented with what is possible when you mix their respective skills. The result is a true crossover album that takes us from edgy techno over orchestral ambient to jazzy punk and challenges without overchallenging. New Jackson conjures a beautiful beginning into existing with a spheric acidic micro house opener. Melancholic harmonies combine with spacy "Acid Jackson" vocoder parts while the bouncing sequence gives this track an exceptional unique mood. A musical journey that could go on forever. Next up is German house legend Ian Pooley. “DDG Talk” offers distinctive funk with a deep grooving rhythm. Synth parts ring out like tightly stretched rubber bands and you can literally hear Ian’s love for special analog curiosities. Complex modulations add to the charm of this piece and lead to a nifty production with a certain vintage charm. Sweet vibes that fit almost any moment. The impulsive deep tech track “Il Rotori” then welcomes us to the circus ring and shows us the attraction of the virtuoso. Grinding hi-hats shake up and down alongside progressive sequences to form a cloud of happy frequencies. A sweet memory that lifts the energy of the moment and is reminiscent of a sunset on a beloved island.

DJ Tennis smoothly takes us to the next phase with a warm musical embrace. The bassline with Italian flavor grooves true to form, recalling the early 2000s. The perfect accompaniment for a sundowner. Shimmering zap sounds, hitting stabs, and energetic vocals that command us to “Take It, Take It” as we will for sure! Drumcomplex & Frank Sonic get things rolling with “Lacalute” serving hypnotic shaker patterns and a charismatic synthesizer sequence. Sven has already been playing this tune on heavy rotation since the beginning of the year. So, let’s head off on a thrilling trip with lightspeed. Get on the high-tension lift, next stop: peak time! The wild ride continues with a remarkable techno track from Michael Klein, primed to fill the main floor with a significant sound pressure level. “Time Warp” is a warehouse monster that offers a powerful bassline groove, a booming bass drum, and pulse-width synth madness, so time appears to move unpredictably.

Motoring on, a UK Rave 90s breakbeat rhythm – brought into the future with the perfect zeitgeist. Benjamin Damage is a hardware lover without a doubt, his machines seem to be an extension of his soul, which can be clearly heard in his sound. “Light” appears in wonderful harmony, and the blissful string sounds beam us out of the galaxy. Magical female vocal parts add the final touch, Benjamin did it again right down to the last detail. Balm for the soul from Levon Vincent, this tune is made for open air. The melancholic energy fluctuates between hope and summertime sadness but leaves us with a warm and fuzzy feeling. We reach a high energy level due to the radiant synth hook line and the pure 909 techno beat gains the underground feeling of the track in contrast to its comprehensiveness. Coming up next is “Cold Tuning” by Space Dimension Controller. It’s a timeless sci-fi saga, nostalgic and futuristic at the same time. Dreamy synth pads take us into another world and dimensions quickly rush by. A beautiful and touching atmosphere evolves, and the slightly off-key sensual string harmonies are predestined to generate emotions. A fast floating 808 kick expedites the spaceship beyond infinity. Mission accomplished!

Entering the final stage, no one less than Orlando Voorn spreads happiness all over.
Orlando’s particular shuffle rhythm paired with alien reverbed synthesizer stabs form the basis of “Samurai”. But the outstanding feature is especially the noisy gritty bit-crushed synth hook line in connection with energetic and graceful vocal samples. As the penultimate, Marco Faraone & The Florentian Cabaret serve a playful and harmonious composition with 80s charm, which clearly stands out from their independent releases. Lovely organ sounds are layered with shimmering Roland-Jupiter-like synth pads, bringing everybody back together on the dance floor in the morning hours. To close things out, of course, we need an after-hour vibe provided by a stripped-down minimalistic groove from Fango. “Betta” invites you to close your eyes and let yourself go due to its hopeful carpet of sound and love designed to stimulate your soul. It’s a deep immersion in emotions and the perfect ending for this year's compilation.

The A-side kicks off with "Input", where Tommy Chikara wastes no time unleashing a barrage of garage beats and hypnotic stabs. Layering up rock-solid kicks and steel-sharpened hi-hats, he creates an energetic rave-up that will leave you breathless. Provincha represents the first release of the label with the same name.
This release is an ode to the everyday provincial life, as the 4 tracks tell the story of an ordinary day with its highs and lows.

As you can guess the first track named Breakfast on the A-side has a little kick to it, a sparkle of energy, just like the first sip of coffee in the morning and prepares the listener for the next challenge which is the second track, Brunch.

Brunch is more energetic, with a melody and drums arrangement set up for a dynamic lunch (as part of the day).

On the other side you will find Dinner, the original version and one of the Remixes. B-side slows down the pace of the release,
so both versions represent the ways in which one approaches the evening/dinner.

Amsterdam-based record label PIV advances forward to complete a trilogy of their annual October sampler release for ADE. A wide collection of established artists and prominent upcoming producers contribute to this much-awaited compilation which showcases every corner of the imprint's identity.

Innovative multi-instrumentalist and electronic luminary Mathew Jonson returns to Crosstown Rebels with ‘Tako Tako’.

The Canadian synth wizard returns to Damian Lazarus' renowned imprint with two magical and absorbing new productions, with the most excellent two-tracker.

Mathew Jonson has developed one of the most distinctive voices in electronic dance music. His take on house and techno is rich in synth craft and high on captivating emotions, all shaped by his notoriously extensive collection of analogue and hardware gear that he can play, manipulate and use like few others. An electronic mastermind renowned for releasing countless seminal tracks and albums, both solo and as a member of Cobblestone Jazz, he returns to a label that has been a constant throughout his career. With his ‘Tako Tako’ EP, he offers two more superb journeys on Crosstown Rebels.

The fantastic ‘Tako Tako’ kicks off with Jonson’s signature mix of elegant and refined synth craft, with dancing melodies bringing futuristic energy and neon colour to crunchy beats. They are smeared and smudged in a painterly fashion and help make this production a pulsating dancefloor thrill. Equally standout is ‘Just a Little Bit’, powered by a jostling broken beat with a warm bassline and wordless vocals sampled throughout. It’s funky, kinetic, always on the move, and rounds out another one of Jonson’s fantastically inventive yet effective EPs.

After debuting digitally on PURISM Wave, Nebulaee (FLMB Records' head honcho) finally makes his first deserved appearance on Vinyl with this eclectic 4 tracks EP

R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings welcomes the return of UK tech house pioneers, the Alien Recordings crew with tracks from A², Stopouts and the late, great Andy Panayi.

Sydney based Carlo Gambino is back with his 2nd vinyl release for Jack’s House Recordings, this time with the distinctive 4 track Dime EP, and it showcases his signature sound through and through and reminds you of what good true timeless house music should sound like.

Kicking off the A side with the title track The Dime, which is deeply groovy & punchy with a warm drive throughout the whole track. The track boasts repeated lyrics rapped in a female vocal with attitude over a chunky kick and rhythmic hats. The 30 second breakdown around 3 minutes in jumps straight back in with solid groove, attitude and class.

Next up is Catch 22 which chugs along nicely with a sub bass sound resembling the old days of rave travelling along seamlessly and laced with short vocal snippet stabs and driving chords.

Kicking off the B side is Bounce With It. This can only be described as pure dirty house accompanied by a deep male vocal which simply but effectively repeats the title (Bounce With It). This track is a total groove with a brilliant sequence of cool moody chords.

Lastly but absolutely by no means lastly, is My Mind. This track has all the qualities to be an unsung hero of an underground vocal classic with a timeless shelf life. With the infectious I´ve Been Losing My Mind sang along with the occasional lyric being harmonised which keeps the track lifted over the simple but punchy percussion and keys.This one will stick in your head.

Tour-Maubourg & Christophe Salin are kicking off Salin Deep, Salin Records' sublabel dedicated to raw and dub- influenced house music. Every Record Sleeve is handprinted by Daria Salin (limited edition of 300). Ever since they met at Fête de la Musique in 2018, Tour-Maubourg and Christophe Salin have had a soul-mate kind of relationship.

Their first collaboration took place with the release of Tour-Maubourg’s Duophonie EP on Salin Records (March 2020). Following this, both were keen to take the collaboration to the next level by creating a mutual EP which was initially planned to be made in the Autumn of 2020 at the Villette 45 Studio in Paris. Following a worldwide turn of events, this was no longer possible - as the EP's title 'From A Distance' suggests.

However, both parties found alternative ways to create, write and mix tracks together despite the 1000 km distance between Paris & Lübeck. Salin Deep gave both artists the freedom to discover new musical territories. Their mutual influences and inspirations culminated in an EP intended to take the listener on a deep journey, something we love to do with all our releases. Daria Salin encompassed the sublabel's vibe as well as the concept of 'distance' into her artwork by aggressively zooming into her portraits of Tour-Maubourg & Christophe Salin. This way, the beholder is forced to keep a certain distance if they wish to see the two faces printed on the vinyl sleeve....

Berlin-based producer Buttechno (a.k.a Pavel Milyakov) returns to Incienso for the second edition of his “minimal cuts” series with four house bangers full of style and class.

Charles Levine is best known as one half of SoulClap, the love-fuelled production and DJ duo that brought all new emotions to the dance music scene when they first emerged in the mid-noughties. MartinButtrich is an acclaimed studio wizard and Grammy-nominated producer with an enviable discography that pairs meticulous synth craft with compelling grooves from across the house spectrum. Together, the two have formed a close friendship originally stemming from a 2016 collaboration where Buttrich mixed and added production to Soul Clap’s self-titled second album which was released on !K7 Records. Since then, Buttrich and Levine have worked their way through a variety of studio sessions, exciting moments of synthesis and deep philosophical wax-ings, ultimately culminating in this present moment in time on Stratasonic.

They open up their new EP with 'Festival Queen', a powerful and fulsome cut with angelic vocals working you into a frenzied state as the percussive grooves power on. After a pulsating, stripped-back Dub allows the colourful synth work to shine, 'Festival Queen Reprise' is stripped of the drums and becomes a more heavenly piece perfect for comedowns.'Charlie & The Moog' is a deep and playful trippy affair with languid synths bringing cheeky energy to the loose-limbed drums. It's a cosmic world of ever-shift-ing melody that warps space and time, and a dub gets even more wonderfully woozy.

isolée returns to Maeve with his second solo release following the success of 2017's "Mangroove EP". Spanning four tracks, "Candy Apple Red EP", shows different sides to the German artists signature micro sound. The A1, "mad marauder" leans on a big room feel while still possessing all the intricacies of production isolée has become known for over his distinguished career. The title track comes on the A2, "candy apple red", a jovial trot through a languid land of disco-house. The flip side starts with, "you are", a sub terrain deep house number with all the feels of an isolée cut. Rounding things off on the B2 is "Jordi", a darker trip into the dancefloor, perfect for the small hours.

The second release from MIC comes from Ladies As Pimps - LAPS for short - an anarchic Glasgow duo formed by Lady Two Collars of Golden Teacher and Sue Zuki from Organs Of Love.

Their duets take centre stage on Who Me: the vocal performances range from the stretched, soulful projections of Ode To Daughter to the lawless, clipped, sweet & sour, spat-not-spoken word of Edges.

Spirited percussion scatters in all directions and bass is smothered in tape delay, as the duo beat their way through dub, r'n'b, house, and way beyond, circling around acts like Madam X, The Bug, Stuart Argabright and Francois K, mashing absurdity with dread.

Recorded at Green Door studios in Glasgow (where the two met) and layered with the analogue production techniques learned on the first youth unemployment programme there, the energy and charisma of these recordings promise a pretty unique live show when they support Princess Nokia later this year.

The two track 'Evolutions' Ep sees Enzo Siragusa and Alexkid each give us their own personal take on the infamous Kilimanjaro sound. Label head Enzo once again fuses his junglist past with sleek tech beats on the A side in the form of Desire skippy percussion imbuing the track with a real sense of funk before a monster 90s style b-line cuts through the mix to really nail the floor.

Alexkid steps up with his trademark dubby style on the flipside with Wear Your Cape, razor sharp percussion and a cavernous bass taking the track to deliciously lofty heights. Both tracks are logical progressions from the notorious Kilimanjaro sound they pioneered.
