Right in time, before the end of the year, Golden Gate Club Records presents „The Golden Gate Quartett VA3“. A compilation with four tracks of four Various Artists strongly related to the Golden Gate Club in Berlin. In the range and genre of Minimal Techno, Deep Tech and Microhouse you find here four very interesting and coherent productions represented by an international variety of talented and productive artists.

To start with, Nicolas Duvoisin, the DJ, producer and head of Fantastic Friends label from Lausanne, constantly delivering great output of the finest Minimal sound of the Romandy.
Furthermore also from Switzerland, Zürich, is Christine Benz, head of PIRAT Records, an unique artist with a very special style in producing and playing.
Another outstanding personality and multi persona to find here is Brizman aka Gel Abril, considered one of the most coveted underground DJs to emerge from Tel Aviv’s electronic scene.
Closing the circle with Edgar Peng, the power unit and creative mind behind the Golden Gate club and label, constantly up and juggling in between Berlin’s unresting club and music life.

FUSE bosses Enzo Siragusa and Seb Zito have been invited by the highly respected Rawax to bring a taste of their beloved London rave culture roots to the labels first release of 2017.
Since their launch in 2011, Rawax's catalogue has beamed with nothing less than the finest, and Enzo and Seb are a welcomed addition to their already colourful and diverse roster. Barac, Boo Williams, Fred P, Paul Johnson, Ricardo Villalobos, Ron Trent and Unbroken Dub are just a small portion of an incredible list of artists that have released via the labels original monarch and many offshoots thus far.

With 'Woonie Trax' Enzo and Seb perfectly resurrect the sounds of early UK rave culture into the present by digging out the early gems of their record boxes as inspiration.

'Barring the kicks, I think almost everything came from sampling old garage, hardcore and jungle records from the 90's. For those in the know, the clues are in the names of the tracks'. - Enzo Siragusa

Whilst 'Shades of Riddim, 'Lil Ley', and 'Blue Notes' all lend themselves to the early UK sound, each track has its own individual quirk making the EP a diverse representation of the days Enzo and Seb fell in love with rave.

The Spanish-Dominican label led by the Spanish Sergio Parrado and the Dominican Jee Bear presents its Lmtd series, where art, design and music go hand in hand. A collectible series where each reference is a piece of a mural by the Argentine designer Lucien Le Grub, this being the first of four.

This first reference is the work of Chilean Alejandro Vivanco (Cadenza, Melisma) who joins forces with fellow Chilean Dorian Chavez (8bit, Viva Music) to bring us this incredible “Dabtrack”.

The original cut (A1) is to go back in time, return to the essence of the mid-2000s where artists like Luciano or Ricardo Villalobos put the Andean country in the eyes of the world with their organic micro house. “Dabtrack” is about this, but with a renewed sound, where the organic and the digital embrace to create an intense track, with fat basses that will make the sound system rumble. Special synths that catch you to create a magnificent sound collage.

The A2 is for the master master and lord of the deep sound. We are talking about the Romanian Mihai Popoviciu, who brilliantly reinterprets the track and takes it to his own terrain, but without neglecting the essence of the original and giving it his particular groove that works so well late at night. The groove, together with the set of synths, which elaborates it magnificently, makes his remix of Dabtrack” an indispensable work in the DJ's suitcases.

Now it's time to close this incredible album. For this we have reserved the entire B-side for one of the Chilean artists who has left the most mark in the last two decades on the international electronic scene: Pier Bucci. He takes us on a 12-minute journey through his signature style where anything can happen. Little more to say, we invite you to discover it for yourself. Because it is a work of art.

2022 Repress

After his separation from Playhouse in 2007 and the rather longish break that followed it, it looks as if Isolée has finally found their new homebase with Pampa Records. Evidence of this may be found in such unprejudiced tracks as 'Taktell", a single extracted from the album 'Well-Spent Youth' . As is tyical for Isolée, it defies any clear-cut genre classification and creates its very own harmonic setting, merging associations of pop, house and distant landscapes into a unique sound voyage. Now his second EP on Pampa is being released, and 'Allowance' doesn't leave an inch of a doubt where the road is headed. Without making any concessions to the needs of a DJ, from bar one the theme is being introduced in all its inherent necessity and then continually established until a seemingly worn-out, mainstream, pop autotune voice settles upon the cosy bass bed just like a cherry on the cake. We haven't known Isolée anywhere near as free and poppy in a very long time. A more mix-friendly version of the track will be available for digital download. 'You Could Do Your Memories' lures the listener away into a daydream, as if he suddenly found himself in an unknown place at a new-wave party that cannot possibly have happened the way it did. 'Wobble", on the other hand, leaves only few questions unanswered, the party definitely looks familiar, and just when we reach that point where the funk motif resulting from the fusion of bassline and chords is threatening to wear us down, we are being released.

You can always rely on Dungeon Meat to kick out the jams and that is the case here with Julian Anthony next up to make a solid house statement. 'Dale Ale' kicks things off with a tumbling hook that sounds like someone whacking a giant metal drum, while 'Phantom Strike' brings shuffling garage energy to the beats. 'Radikal Forze' is one of those late-night jams with some mysterious pads leading you to mischief and last of all 'Z-Town' rides on rubbery kick drum loops with tripped-out pads. Heady and physical at the same time, all four of these are superb.

The creative partnership between Tiga & HudsonMohawke expresses a mutual love of "hardcoreromance," a liminal state where the boundsbetween euphoria, melancholy and the raw powerof friendship disintegrate completely. Recorded inLos Angeles from 2019-2023, thesecommonalities ebbed and flowed through variousrecording sessions, culminating in their debutalbum - L"Ecstasy. Originally conceived as a hardcore rave projectfocusing on bleary-eyed 6am catharsis, thebreadth of the project expanded to encompasstheir shared love of the music surrounding the 90sravebiome, with chill-out quasi-IDM ambient - "ExitWarehouse at Dawn", "LMZNIN" - creating spacefor the album"s tentpole anthems - "IN ORDER 2,""VSOD," "Ascending into the Clouds" - to breathe.

Rockets Audio starts the saga with 4 finest minimal house trackers by Matheiu, Denis Kaznacheev and the master trio Wareika. A rocket (from Italian rocchetto "bobbin" is a missile, spacecraft, aircraft or other vehicle that obtains thrust from a rocket engine. Rocket engine exhaust is formed entirely from propellant carried within the rocket before use. Rocket engines work by action and reaction and push rockets forward simply by expelling their exhaust in the opposite direction at high speed, and can therefore work in the vacuum of space.

In fact, rockets work more efficiently in space than in an atmosphere. Multistage rockets are capable of attaining escape velocity from Earth and therefore can achieve unlimited maximum altitude. Compared with airbreathing engines, rockets are lightweight and powerful and capable of generating large accelerations. To control their flight,
rockets rely on momentum, airfoils, auxiliary reaction engines, gimballed thrust, momentum wheels, deflection of the exhaust stream, propellant flow, spin, and/or gravity.

Rockets for military and recreational uses date back to at least 13th century China. Significant scientific, interplanetary and industrial use did not occur until the 20th century, when rocketry was the enabling technology for the Space Age, including setting foot on the Earth's moon. Rockets are now used for fireworks, weaponry, ejection seats, launch vehicles for artificial satellites, human spaceflight, and space exploration.

SOUND rockets are the most common type of high power rocket, typically creating a high speed pitch by the wave of rythm with an oxilator. The stored delay can be a simple pressurized detune or a single filter delay that disassociates in the presence of a curve (EQ + FILTER ), two hats that spontaneously react on contact (RANDOMIZER), two snares that must be ignited to react, a solid combination of effects with oxidizer (solid GROOVE), or solid fuel with liquid oxidizer (hybrid FILTER BAND DELAY). Chemical rockets store a large amount of energy in an easily released form, and can be very dangerous. However, careful design, testing, construction and use minimizes risks.

Hypnotic sunrise starts as it means to go on with a debut outing from the noisy neighbors, Bad Flatmates (Tzena & Dea). Three originals from the dynamic duo, and a remix from Bizarre Trax beatmaker oliver.r. Mysterious tales of curiosity, maneuvering between stripped back sounds, and otherworldly textures.
Sitting firmly as the A1 is “Major Minor”, bubbling synths teasing you towards the chugging drive of the track, meticulously arranged to create a well rounded trip. Felon5 member oliver.r addresses a more housey direction with his remix, cruising on an elastic groove implementing the blissful pads from the original.
Shuffling drums lead the way in “Chemicals Between Us” conversing with the shimmering elements, rounding off the EP is further mind stretching material in the form of “Lepa Igra”.

A matter of pace, an analog memory…
Feel safe: like newborn, take your first careful steps on a clean slate while Maayan is your supervisor. Naïve and happy, you leave carbonbon footprints on your way into the positives. Then a faster pace: some tribal folk music from a tiny world, where people dance around an LED fire, commands a gallop to the one and ollam. Latinfection guaranteed.
Your nonplus motion interferes with environmental geometry. A memory from an analog past flashes like a daydream. Upward and rising, your smile workout succeeds while scintillating waves say “hello!”. Having grown up to a motorik being, the determined goal however never appears. The journey into a perfect storm is the reward. Maayan sends you some motivating words.
Then have a break and jump on the light train of thoughts to enjoy blurred reflections: on the water and in your mind. Sing your body beautiful and free. Words come in bubbles, a heart-throb away from a light tower. Feel like stumbling into new adventures on a pathless terrain.
Slowly and cautious, the novemberme, which is the one that approaches dawn, celebrates tristesse with a funny accent. Kick the blues with a beat. Somewhere lost but regenerated, find sisyphos’ generator of vitality. A nascent religious mood at the Autobahn service station fades into the fog.
Finally, the circle of pace is almost closed. After laughter of amazement, Maayan leaves you with a soothing mantra of confidence: an everyday ritual fun you should indulge yourself in. It comes in waves.

Only Music Matters keep it real once more with another superb EP from an unknown artist featuring loads of untitled tracks. And those tracks all operate in the world of minimal and tech house with fresh ideas and forward-thinking sound designs. 'AAA001A' is a dark one with paranoid vocals looped over churning beats and steely metallic hits. 'BBB001B' is more smooth and free-flowing with a dubby undercurrent and bumpy pads over a deft rhythm. 'BBB002B' adds a third and final different look - a more warped and elastic rhythm with some brighter melodic touches that will help shift the floor up a gear.

The second release from fledging new label Morsecode is a world affair that features new music from Slowmouth and remixes crafted by producers in multiple countries. The lead single 'Anchor' stemmed from a discussion about authenticity in the underground and is a deep, dubby and acid-laced techno cut with raw machine warmth. Subtil founder Nils Weimann flips it into a more percussive number with broken beat loops, while Modebaku layers in deft and wispy pads and hits to make for a light yet carob sting minimal rhythm. Zalapa and Cliff Sequence then combine for a more raw and punchy version with cosmic pads and slapping tech drums. A tasteful outing for sure.

Continuing its incredible run of high grade releases, Silat Beksi's Modeight imprint turns out its 14th record with mighty Moldovan producer Dubfound. Spread across 4 tracks, his "No Time For Wind" EP winds its way through a classy and cutting edge minimalist house vibe. The A-side begins with the mind bending, "Mishkitsunami", a raw and raucous cut. Following on we dive deeper into "Clouds Are Flying Down", a fluid and enigmatic slice of pure rhythmic flow. On the B-side the irresistible head bumping groove of "Wet Heads" kicks things off. A collab with fellow Moldavan compatriot Dupostim. That electric bassline set to be surefire winner with club goers. And finally, title track "No Time For Wind" finishes things off with its graceful after hours hypnosis. A perfect fit for Modeight, Dubfound brings the heat in emphatic fashion.

Another new signing to Spinning Plates (Or is it?) making a powerful and in your face debut for the label.

Arkady Antsyrev mixes a superb blend of minimalistic house and garage patterns that fills one up with energy and serves as the perfect stimulator to dive into the dynamic vibe of the dancefloor.

"Sleepy Coffee Pot" offers a sonic espresso of avant-garde samples and elegant percussion, awakening the senses and leaving us craving another sip. Highlighted drums and uncompromising bass send the "Don't Stop Moving" pulse to the brain, forcing the body to obey the rhythm and move to the beat. The smoky atmosphere of "The Last Slice of Pizza" combined with hypnotic guitar creates a unique and memorable flavour. With its old-school touch and startling saxophone, Sony Synth's remix fills us with nostalgic charm and jazzy flair, thus extending the limits of musical sophistication.

Next up on Fake's Various Artist Series we have a stellar lineup, Lee Daines leads the line with the minimal groover 'Stokkie', One of the undergrounds legends Gel Abril teams up with Berlin Based Oskar Szafraniec with a peak time track for dancefloor 'Energy Flow'. On the flip we have two stalwarts of the minimal scene, Ukranian Pharba and long time friend of fake Just_me with a super cool track that's full of energy 'ride', And to finish off we have up and coming talent Soyro with his minimalistic breaks track 'Moonset'

Diagonal Records proudly welcomes a new face to the label. Off the back of recent 13th birthday celebrations, Diagonal is now looking to the future with an exciting release from Australian upstart, Jonus Eric. Jonus has recently appeared on Gerd Janson's iconic Running Back label. This 12" EP features centre label artwork by Guy Featherstone inspired by Peter Saville's work for Factory Records.

The "Diode" EP comprises 6 tracks of sample – laden, psychedelic house music. EP opener, "Darkwhirl" brings to mind Theo Parrish, a regular reference point across the release. "Crimewave" offers an irresistible, funk soaked bassline. "Shapeshift" is when things get gnarly! "Antibiotics" reimagines a classic Todd Terry rave cut whilst EP closer "Polarity" provides a 90's IDM inspired finale.

Warehouse find

We've been doing some housekeeping and found this first release on the Soco Audio label hidden deep in our warehouse.

It is the work of Hakan Lidbo and was first related in 2001. It opens with the 'Sinful Sadie' title track which is drenched in loved-up synth warmth and has a steamy female vocal coo floating above the shimmering deep house beats. 'Kung Pa Klubben' has more twisted synths and a vocoder vocal that brings a futuristic vibe and 'Scrubber' then closes out with some tight and percussive tech funk that still sounds as good now as ever.

Matthew Dear's Black City Can't Be Found On Any Map. It's A Composite, An Imaginary Metropolis Peopled By Desperate Cases, Lovelorn Souls, And Amoral Motives. Like Most Literary Gothams, Black City Is A Place To Love And Hate, As Seedy As A Nightclub's Back Room And As Seductive As The Promise Of Power. Matthew Dear, The Musician, May Live In New York City, But The Matthew Dear Of Black City Inhabits A Sound-world Unlike Any Other: A Monument To The Shadowy Side Of Urban Life That Bumps And Creaks, Shudders And Wakes Up Screaming In The Middle Of The Night. Black City Is Matthew Dear's Third Album On Ghostly International, And It's His Darkest And Most Engrossing Work To Date.

From The rst Notes Of Album Opener "honey", It's Clear That The Love-obsessed Matthew Dear Of 2007's Asa Breed Has Given Way To A More Existentially Paranoid Entity, As Creeping Tempos Dominate, Cavernous Atmospherics Envelop The Listener, And Strange Distortions Crackle On The Horizon. In Black City, Nothing Is At It Seems: Leadoff Single "little People (black City)" Is A Nine-and-a-half Minute Disco odyssey, subverting its gleaming electronic lead with eerily giddy backing vocals and cryptic, ominous lyrics ("a frozen wasted heart / has died", "love me like a clown"); "You Put a Smell on Me" is a sordid sex romp set to hysterically chattering percussion and a serrated synth line that will set your teeth on edge; "More Surgery" at rst recalls the barely-there Krautrock of Harmonia in its burbling minimalism, until Dear's chanted chorus of "Alter genetics / to make my body glow / I need more surgery / there's so much more to know" sends the track hurtling into a dystopian future.

And yet, for all the foreboding moods on Black City, it's the album's sweeter moments that illustrate Matthew Dear's growing maturity as a songwriter. "Slowdance" is a futuristic lullaby in which Dear articulates a lover's helplessness ("I can't be the one to tell you everything's wrong") over breathy, Arthur Russell-esque cello swishes; the album-closing "Gem" is an achingly simple, reverb-drenched piano ballad that ends with a long, slow fade. Even in Matthew Dear's Black City, there is hope.

TET002S – Turnend Tapes, on its second release, presents something very special in the form of a 4 track EP selected from the works of a true veteran, zedmeco. Better known as Zeno Messis, one part of the prolific Megalon project that painted the UK underground techno scene of the 90s. With a string of releases on Plink Plonk featuring the now cultish 94’ LP ‘Pandora’s Box’, Megalon’s mosaic of dance music was as much Ambient Dub as it was Detroit techno or Deep House remaining timeless and mythical.

Fast-forward 2 decades and then some. zedmeco quietly continues to transmit music of authenticity and nostalgia, inflected with the same elasticity to style and sound, integrating 20+ years of spirit and experience. ‘view from olympus: selected tracks’ is a culmination of just a fraction of Zed’s new output that we are ecstatic to have start our stamped series on the label.

Almost exactly 30 years ago in 1994 Jamie Odell released his Loxodrome EP on legendary London label Jumpin & Pumpin, a release that has since gone onto receive a lot of love and attention and got reissued by Craigie Knowes sub label Wormhole Wisdom back in 2020. Fast forward three decades and Jamie aka Jimpster has decided to dust off his Loxodrome cap, and now we’re happy to present you with the fruits of his studio sessions in the form of The Drop Out EP.

The title track treads a much darker, more minimal path than we’re used to hearing on his Jimpster or Franc Spangler releases. Aimed fairly and squarely at the dance floor, Drop Out goes heavy on squelching, modular synth sequences which build around a stripped back jacking drum groove. Jamie’s trusty Juno 106 gets dusted off to provide the chunky bassline and ominous pads which are interjected with a trippy vocal sample and white noise fills.

Emberfall follows in fine style with saturated 808 drums and 303 acid line taking centre stage. Overall, an optimistic and uplifting atmosphere emits from the speakers, heightened by the Juno string chords, taking inspiration from classic 90’s Italian Dream House.

Flipping over we have a dub version of Emberfall which loses the pads and stabs in favour of dub delays and extra snare fills for a more impactful and minimal acidic club workout.

Closing out the EP things get lush as Jamie heads into deep, late night electro territory on Fornax A. Memories of Black dog and B12 are channeled through the layers of filtering synths and glitchy breakbeats and are inspired by his production approach and Atari ST running C-Lab Creator and Akai S900 - the tools at his disposal when producing his debut Loxodrome EP all those years ago.

2024 marks a significant milestone for That Divine with the launch of its in-house record label. Spearheaded by core member artists Nicooly and Dylanh, along with the rest of the team, the label aims to showcase the best of electronic music talent, both locally and internationally, focusing on producing tracks that lid the dancefloor on fire. The inaugural EP features tracks from resident Dylanh, local DJ and producer Factuaw, and renowned artist Christopher Ledger. The mastering is done by Rob Small and to complement the auditory collector experience, That Divine will collaborate with visual artists to illustrate one side of the record. For the debut release, Bulgarian artist and avid raver Noyu Noev brings the story behind Dylanh's track to life through his freestyle drawings on MS Paint, offering a unique visual interpretation that enhances the listening experience. With plans for future collaborations already underway, That Divine's label is set to make waves in the global music scene.

- Dylanh presents a haunting tale of a man with triple schizophrenia disorder, captured in a druggy horror movie-style breakbeat track perfect for the early hours of the morning.
- Factuaw's "Stranjah" captures the essence of the rave scene with its evocative soundscapes, inspired by the sea breeze, dancing shadows, and the euphoria of sunrise.
- Christopher Ledger remixes both tracks, adding his unique touch to the release, promising an unforgettable listening experience for electronic music enthusiasts. The second one will be released as a surprise bonus at some point, keep your eyes and ears open.

Warehouse Find

The Soco Audio label was a vital one for tech house lovers at the turn of the millennium and that is when genre pioneer Eddie Richards stepped up with this EP.

It's one we have found while digging around in our warehouse and it features four superbly crisp and still-contemporary sounding cuts. pairs snappy metallic hits and tightly programmed kicks with an expressive vocal stab then 'Xtrk gets more deep with wispy pads and a smoky late-night feel. 'Someday' is a more physical and jacked up groove but still one with a sleazy vocal element and last of all is a remix of 'Sinful Sadie' that is more weighty and dubby.

First release from Lisbon's leading dance music record shop, Carpet & Snares Records.André Leiria completes his journey from wide-eyed customer to fully-fledged producer, with three reflective originals and an outer-space dub from Mosaic boss Steve O'Sullivan. 'Raining Sun' and 'Not The Way Home' evoke wet spring days in the city, sustained chords and delayed accents swelling like morning river mist over the diligent bass and percussive clatter of urban life below. O'Sullivan's drifting dub of 'Raining Sun' steps boldly into a galaxy-scale soundspace, echoing the best of his dub excursions from the late 90s, while on 'Fear Of Death' there are hints of another Steve (Reich), its cacophony of arpeggios propelling the groove into ever higher registers.

FORAX returns with a fresh vinyl release by label head Diego Krause, featuring three heavyweight tracks that are indispensable for every DJ's record bag.
The "Point of No Return EP" serves up a triple threat: two driving groovers that never let up - their relentless energy is an embodiment of Diego's keen understanding of what keeps the dance floor moving. The third track, a blast-from-the-past anthem that guarantees hands in the air every time it's dropped. Diego Krause has yet again proven his ability to produce timeless EPs that cater to the true Tech-House connoisseur, capturing the very essence of the genre.

For the remixes of her "tarde" single, nina kraviz enlisted an all star remixers team and worked on a psy version herself as well. Nina recorded "tarde" in her bedroom 3 years ago and wanted the song to keep the same intimate feeling as when she recorded it. The result is a dark love song about love so strong, it could almost break you.

Cameleon Records open their vinyl series with a powerful 3-track EP provided by its very owner, Oros. After his first appearance on We Are FTR last year, he wasted no time and launched his own label. On this EP he provides two signature tracks of his own, yet different in style, combining a deep, meditative state with a solid groove to shake the dancefloor. The remix comes from the talented Paul Walter, a figure we all got used to lately, seeing his productions being released on labels such as Pressure Traxx and his very own Meduka.
