Coming out of nowhere is the debut single from Thom Yorke, Flea and Nigel Godrich's Atoms For Peace project. Borrowing the fragmented, minimal arrangements of Yorke's solo album The Eraser, "Default" surrounds its clipped rhythms and vocal arrangements in an all enveloping bass that references the contemporary strains of dubstep, creating something that could nevertheless only have come from the mind of Yorke and his associates...

For their third EP Featurette, shadowy Wolverhampton duo Letherette come to Ninja Tune ahead of a debut album in 2013.
Drawing on Bangalter-inflected house but giving it a rumble and wing, Letherette make infectious, beat-driven music which is as fun and un-self-conscious as it is clever and technically cutting edge. From the exuberant cut-up boogie of 'Warstones', through moments of ethereal beauty on the four-to-the-floor stomper 'Ettewards', on into delicate, poised 'Surface', (featuring vocals from Jed + Lucia) and finally the spaced hip hop of 'Wecko', the childhood friends use the Featurette EP to show their range and diversity as well as their technical nous.
After two releases on the excellent Ho Tep Records, an appearance on Brownswood Electric, a couple of stunning remixes (for Machinedrum and Bibio) and a fantastic DJ mix for BTS Radio, plus support from the likes of Benji B, Gilles Peterson and Brackles, gigs and festival appearances across Europe this summer, and now a trio of fantastic EPs - Letherette are ready to make the musical leap to the big time.

However, he was definitely not lazy in between. After releasing an EP on Circus Company alongside Marc Schneider, remixing Luomo aka Vladislav Delay, having his first singles remixed by Mano Le Tough, Area aka M50 and Wasted Gaze and finishing his first album which will see the light of day early 2013, it is about time for a new record. Mutating at the unusual speed of 149 BPM, 'Chevere' is an ever changing, sizzling beast of a track with snakelike twist and turns, thunderous drums and acid-drenched leads. 'Flipside Of Time' just builds and builds and builds. Take some classic Juno-strings, trademark Aera arpeggios, add some noise, a nasty kick-drum and some more noise, this is it. A twisted
anthem for the brave. After this kind of heavy onslaught, 'Die Pferden' takes the time to kick back a little and deliver something more conventional - at least in Aera's terms: built upon a chopped up, slightly skipping vinyl sample, an evolving, reverb bathed bass-line and some chunky drums. Bastard Jazz is proud to present the debut EP from Brussels based production duo Eric P & LuiGi aka MonkeyRobot. Coming to light through their work as 74 Miles Away (Melting Pot Music) and Tall Black Guy, who selected their standout "Basement Infusion" track to be on his Tempo Dreams compilation album (released in June on Bastard Jazz), and alliance between the label and M.R. seemed natural.

This is a collection of remixes to accompany the forthcoming EP from psyche band Tim, Chad And Sherry.
The label have called in a brace of bumping variations from Afrikanz On Marz (a joint project between Ashley Beedle & Darren Morris) and London's Jamie Blanco.The Afrikanz On Marz mix gets things ramped up into an elasticized slo-mo dancefloor frenzy. Jamie Blanco's 808 acid mix does exactly what it says in the tin, with some bombastic kicks and 303 squelches.The other mix is a Dub variation on the Afrikanz On Marz mix, bookended by the original fuck rock jam.

Le Jardin des Chemins Bifurquants is the first full length album of Chicago based electronic music artist, producer and DJ Jamal R. Moss. Educated by House legends Adonis and Steve Pointdexter, he's been following a singular musical path, producing a gritty futuristic meltdown of House, Free Jazz, New Age and Noise.
For this record, Jamal worked with the concept of plants having a religion, and the question of what their way of worship would look like. This resulted in a dark deep-space overture with raw synth stabs, extreme pitch-shifted textures and hypnotic tribal rhythms—somewhat reminiscent of Sun Ra's interstellar electric keyboard explorations. Le Jardin des Chemins Bifurquants is an unclassifiable tour de force that is oozing with profound cosmic meaning.
For the artwork we invited visual artist Robert Beatty (of Hair Police fame) whose work has graced the record sleeves of Burning Star Core, Family Battle Snake and Oneohtrix Point Never.

Model 500's influence on music arguably looms larger today then ever before, with a fresh wave of fascination coming from a new generation of electronic musicians and fans alike, who's lust for the innovative, original sounds of the first wave of Detroit Techno knows no bounds.
OFI has already received the remix treatment from two big guns of the R&S stable, Space Dimension Controller and Bullion, who both applied their unique touches to the original in the 2010 remix release, and now it's the turn of Apollo - with five new mixes coming from Sei A, Shadowchild, Synkro, Indigo and Colonel Red respectively.
These five interpretations, although starkly different from one another, act as a perfect showcase of the contemporary Apollo sound - from woozy opiate soundscapes to chugging small room gems via soulful electronic oddities and bright, driving dance floor bangers. To remix the work of a legend is never an easy task, but all five artists come through with flying colours and stamp their own trademark twist on what is already a contemporary classic.

To celebrate the rerelease of the three classic to rococo rot records on City Slang between 1997 and 2001, we have asked two friends and fans to rework their favourite tracks of these albums. Four Tet's Kieran Hebden chose the brooding minimal collage 'he loves me' from the bands 1997 archetypal release "veiculo" and, like a prism in singular beam of light, his remix reveals the songs true glistening content. Mute label founder and longtime to rococo rot afficionado Daniel Miller teamed up with London based producer Gareth Jones to give "cars", from the bands impeccable second album "the amateur view", a compassionate modification into a ... well, let"s call it a "Krautrock Disco Truck".

Now this is what you can call great fun. Amidst all the numerous releases somewhere between funky house and uplifting disco arrives finally a record again that will reach consensus trans-cending genres. Already in April The White Lamp released their first 12" on British quality imprint Futureboogie. Back then nobody knew that this project consists of no one less than Darren Emerson (Ex-Underworld) and befriended singer Pete Josef from Bristol. This fact doesn't make "Make It Good" better. Because this is as good as it gets. At least if your intention is to bring a club to the point of ecstasy in the year 2012. The hypnotic bassline alone hits the bull's eye. But the way Josef's vocals make an anthem out of the track is classical dressage. And it's a matter of course that pro-producer Emerson provides an arrangement that simply just
works, everywhere and all the time.

'Are you ready for a journey into the mind of a girl who's dedicated her heart to music', Fran asks daringly on 'May I Introduce Myself', the first song of her anticipated first solo LP, Frantastic. For those following contemporary electronic music, little introduction is necessary: the 33-year-old psychologist is known for her dreamy house collaborations with husband and producer/ DJ Oliver Koletzki, with whom she co-wrote hits such as 'Hypnotized' and the successful album Lovestoned. The time has, however, come for Fran to bare her musical self and let the wild desire to create run free. Far from the totalitarian fist of the major labels, Frantastic was born in complete autonomy with the help of newcomer producers Oded K.dar (MiMi Müller-Westernhagen / Eddy Stevens - Moloko) and Martin Seyer (Krabbz Soundsystem).
