Expositions is a one-man (Reuben Vaun Smith) band that’s been slowly gaining force as a wave ready to hit every Balearic beach and beyond. Yellow Haze hits the Forest Jams label with four complete burners of tunes, so hot you can smell the sun-block melting away. Smith along with the mysterious “Hannah” lay down some serious laid back vibes with their vocals that fit the backing of “Get With You” just perfectly.
Rollerskaters is an instrumental that has us up off the beach and onto the boardwalk for a freestyle rollerskating dance session. Sun Shine Down has Smith back on vocals and the title speaks for itself. Walk along the water of the Pacific has the sun is going down to this one for full effect. Holding On closes out what you’d wish to be an endless summer. Look out for more from the man soon!

Tamango Records proudly announces the first album from label-head Yaya called “You Decide”, which draws from Yaya’s broad musical influences and his diverse multicultural background. The album is packed with brilliant percussive numbers, where Yaya manages to discover a common ground between his minimal roots and the most avant-garde tech-house, finding himself at ease in the 4/4 structure and often bringing into play his sister Karice on vocals.
The album opens with rattling tribal percussions and ethnic Yoruba chants provided by Karice for a proper mysterious intro that leads into “Be Yourself”, which again features catchy vocals from his sister. Here, Yaya plays with whirring synths, broken beats and infectious groove elements, while “Black Mamba” rolls with Yaya’s trademark groove of tribal percussions, bongos and toms, woven together with deep strings creating a vast sonic exploration that culminates into an epic dancefloor burner. Continuing on, “Ebi Awon” is about flashing synths, elegant organs, and a serious rough-edged rolling bassline, with astonishing Yoruba vocals by Karice providing the real deal. Up next is “One Way”, where Yaya chooses spacious kicks and refreshingly funky synths for a full high-octane track, whilst “Lost Beach” is a heady and rapid dancefloor brew with scattering percussions, slapping claps and unusual dark synths. Rounding out the package, “Love and Hate” features downsampled and digitalised pads with thoughtful bass strokes and gently swaying drums, suspending you into a smooth and seductive lo-fi space over its 7+ minute ride. On the outro, the mysterious Yoruba chants make their return, sanctioning, like an ancient prophecy, the end of this journey.

Listen to Jacky Meurisse
Jacky Meurisse has been a prolific artist and music producer since the eighties with his projects Le Park,
Amnesia and Pleasure Game. Hits such as “Le Dormeur” and “Litchies” have topped English and French charts and
remain popular club songs to this day. With his main project Signal Aout 42, Jacky has traveled around the world
and played in front of a raucous crowd. It is noteworthy to mention that SA42 was the first signing of the world
renowned Berlin-based record label Out of Line!
After being a pioneering force in the electronic underground scene over the past 30 years, Jacky's latest offering,
"Crystal Blackout", is a subtle blend of New Beat, techno and EBM flavored with current dancefloor-oriented sounds.

Jan Bertil Svensson: co-founder of the legendary Börft Records, member of arch techno-primitivists Frak, the man responsible for Villa Abo and all-round underground don active in the field of machine music since 1987!
Whilst Jan's output will always conjure comparisons to Techno with a capital T, he has (and continues to) plough a singular and peculiar path in the realm of electronic music. For the Glasgow-based Full Dose, he presents his first ever solo 12' under the name of J.B.S: a four tracker of sluggish, minimal funk that bears the hallmarks of his most classic work as Villa Abo, and adds dashes of the brutal grit that his Studio SS project is infamous for. If there's any sort of recurring theme in Svensson's work, it's playfulness and humour, a particular Scandinavian form of sonic banter that cuts right through the po-faced, black-clad heteronomy of much of today's electronic landscape. The music on this record, with it's odd blend of stripped-back synth pop and brutish dungeon funk evokes exactly that: a body of work that doesn't even seem capable of taking itself too seriously, yet evades anything resembling a recognisable piss take. After all, nobody said that humour and credibility in music had to be mutually exclusive, and J.B.S is a master at weaving the two together at will.
In a world where dance music is often subjected to ludicrous conceptual analysis, sometimes the combined effect of hot circuitry, sincerity, vivaciousness and an anomalous attitude are the only thing for it. But then again, this is not just dance music either...

Rubber brings it back to home ground by diving deeper into Jan Duivenvoorden's shoeboxes. Travelling beyond Unit Moebius, Funky Sobrietas and even Leuk & Ko, there was MINIGOD. Back in 1987, at a local youth centre in the ever-dull Zoetermeer, a group of seven non-musical friends started what could be considered a freeform band performing '"electronic 'beuk' music with noise guitar and lyrical texts". This band was called MINIGOD and rose from the ashes of the performative act Aars/rugklachten. Their change not only meant an upgrade in instruments - from jerrycans, barrels and worn-out bass guitar to keyboard and synthesizers - but also from simply screaming into the void towards songs with something of a structure. The release portrays MINIGOD quintessentially -- energy above professionalism. From a large number of tracks Rubber made a precise selection allowing punk and satire to dance cheek-to-cheek. MINIGOD believed that every human can be a tiny bit of God, and that was just the way this music was intended. If only everybody believed in themselves, and in others. MINIGOD is Jan Duivenvoorden (Unit Moebius), Richard van den Bogaert (Leuk & Ko), and Rob de Bakker played keyboard and synthesizer, Edwin Zuidwijk played guitar, and Siuli Ko and Bart Barendregt did the vocals. Limited to 123 copies.

New year, new Skrufix release and this one is on vinyl once again! Following a return to form with stellar releases last year from Things With Wings with some Nigerian inspired beats, our 2-Step King, The Crane and an extremely well received release from new boy, Skwirl, we continue with quality production levels and one hell of a release from Nathan Jonson.
After a successful decade of releasing music under the Hrdvsion alias (Wagon Repair / Sound Pellegrino / Planet Mu), 2015 saw Nathan reach a turning point in his musical career and re-launch with a new direction under his birth name. The Jonson family are clearly one of good musical stock, his brother is the formidable Matthew Jonson and Nathan has recently released on 20:20 Vision as well as his brother's new Freedom Engine label, among others. We are therefore more than a little bit chuffed to get him on-board for this new EP, 'Space Between Breath'.
The release kicks off with the title track 'Space Between Breath', an ideal opener that builds into a lush, intricate Techno track accompanied by bouncy synth sounds. Label regular, The Crane brings his usual 2-Step talent to rework the first track exceptionally. On the flipside, things kick off with a darker feel and acid sounding synth lines on 'The Transfer', followed by a fine finale in the trippy and chugging sound of 'I'm All We Got.'
It's quite the release all round to be honest! And we're very excited to finally get this one out there. Look out for more excellence to come later in the year as label regulars, Turtlez and Skwirl prep new EPs, alongside some surprising new additions along the way!

Cult label Groovepressure returns with its 17th release. A 4-track EP that is one of its best yet. A collaboration between label boss (and Memory Box head honcho) Robin Ball and regular Groovepressure cohorts A². Taking turns to remix each other’s tracks delivering a 4/4 and breakbeat track and remix each. This EP has all the Groovepressure trademarks. Mixing up techno, house, breakbeat and electro with a deep underground vibe. Music for your head and your feet.
First up A² “Delaycious” is an unreleased track from the vaults. A real gem made in the 90’s and thought lost until re-discovered recently on a dusty DAT. And on the flip side Robin’s stripped back teched up “Oh Yea”.

The summer sun is high in the sky. A cocktail in hand. The soundtrack? Chiara. Steeped in Latin rhythms, produced with the golden touch of Francesco de Bellis (Francisco), this two-tracker is set to a serious groove. Beats chatter and mingle in the evening heat of “Rec”. Bass smoothness and brassy blasts are sweetened by Chiara’s vocals before dramatic strings flash like lightning, igniting this already energy-packed encounter. “Studio Line” continues that theatrical touch. Bold keys, echoing the cinematic grandeur of Italy, are supported by dynamic drum patterns as a vocal sample circles. Styles spin and spiral, the track twirling between genre tags refusing to be pigeonholed. Elements of East and West glide and pirouette hand in hand across this stunning 7”, Chiara offering the perfect soundtrack to dance from dusk to dawn.

For his first solo release N-Gynn serves up a 4 track EP spanning spacey house, techno and electro. Hardware hallucinations fused with machine mysticism to produce interstellar introspection. A collection of recordings that are at once entirely familiar whilst also completely alien.

Fortuna Records return with an exceptional reissue of a mid-80s early electronica LP by keyboardist Raviv Gazit. The album was composed entirely on the Synclavier synthesizer in the basement of the Tel-Aviv University in 1985. Gazit was ahead of his time composing cold yet blissful electronic music for film and theatre which he later released as an album. An unexpected yet extremely welcome addition to Fortuna's killer catalog.

Snips is the founder of Barbershop Records and co founder of Livin Proof, with over 15 years experience as one of Londons most prolific DJs and over 10 years worth of production credits across Hip Hops underground. 2018 has seen Snips emerge as a budding solo artist, fusing the production styles of Hip Hop, House, Soul and Funk in the same fashion as he is known to do behind the turntables.
With his debut album "The Barbershop" making waves on both sides of the Atlantic and his Single "The Product" On Classic Records garnering support from a cross genre selection of heavyweights such as Karizma, Benji B, Eli Escobar, House Shoes, J Rocc, DJ Spinna and Henry Wu, Snips returns on his own label Barbershop Records and delves into Edit territory for his second instalment of the "Snips Edits" series. This time cleverly turning a handful of Hip Hop classics into club ready anthems over Snips' original productions.

Following noticeable releases on Tone Dropout, Art Of Dark, Overthink and Shadow Play, frenchman Daïf returns to his own imprint for LUMINAERE 002 Highways of Life. Distancing from the spacey atmosphere of the first one, this four tracker captures a personal side of Daïf’s musical identity, powerful and twisted.
On the A side, Downtown spiral sets the tone of the EP. Field with melodic pads and ear-piercing leads this 4/4 track bursts with energy. Then follows Burnout, perhaps the most complex of the four. UK garage like style, mesmerizing bass lines and pads, buckle up, you’re in for a 200 mph drive.
On the B side, Terrible Lie is a hot banger with a ravy old school flavor. Warehouse synths, cheesy vocal samples, stabby leads and melodic pads, this one is guaranteed to do some damage. Finally, closing off is Exhaust-ed, hauntingly beautiful track with powerful breaks interleaved with acid bass lines going back and forth with melodic chords.

Fort Romeau's remix is a typical track you will hear back in clubs such as Robert Johnson, Bawrut's remix is a big-room beast and David Mayer shows his typical tribal sound. Yor Kultura finishes this remix EP and Tunnelvisions' Celestial Ritual project with a downtempo version of Umai's Dance. The Remixes are out March 22nd on Atomnation.

French duo Double Mixte bring their digital thunderstorm of neon lit noire to the Italians Do It Better family on their debut EP. Mixed and produced by label head Johnny Jewel, Romance Noire opens the door to a new wave of Italians Do It Better artists coming in 2019.
Fresh Blood. New Tears. The title track arpeggiates and boils as waves of bass flow beneath. Rhythms are carried to the ceiling by a searing cascade of disintegrating color. A heavy backbeat anchors Clara Apolit’s poetry, ready to wear for a night in the face of oblivion.
The cinematic “Arlette” is a call for discovery through a darkness lit only by the glare of headlights in digital rain. Through all of this, Thomas Maan’s incantations search for the lonely, lost in the void of electronic fog. “November” finds in Clara an Anglophonic chanteuse, meditating on the cycles of time.
A blend of suspended sound and an uncertain melody contracts and expands before dissolving. Romance Noire is art that both contemplates and tanscends time’s firm grip. It’s a filmic journey inducing a vague sense of future nostalgia. Happy Valentine’s Day. Double Mixte is Clara Apolit and Thomas Maan.
The duo met in Paris and there was an immediate pull to create music together. They pooled their combined interest in powerful narrative & dark 70’s French film music to write lyrically vivid songs. In 2017, Thomas reached out to Johnny Jewel for what soon became a collaboration that expanded their vision into a haunting debut EP, out today on Italians Do It Better.

Expert in trippy joints- and knee-buckling bounce, OZ-based producer Reptant is back with a vengeance after an array of choice outings on the likes of Salt Mines, Planet Euphorique and Craigie Knowes!
No warm-up lap needed, ‘Phasic Reflex’ may start as a tycho-esque daydream, what’s bred in the bone comes out in the flesh. A pure adrenaline rush of vogue-ing 303, hi-voltage electro- and intricate
drum programming, this one has dancefloor ripper written all over it.
Keeping the tension up to hazardous levels, ‘MS Plenty’ zones out to a Detroit-style elixir of arpeggiated seesaws and pong-indebted, body-jacking pep. As it's title suggests – or not, the B-side opener ‘A Realist’s Realistic Reality’ clearly lies closer to a cyphered Dick-ian parallel world full of binary bleepin’ and swirlin’, post-kosmische infused riffs and tentacular Arpanet-style modularity, which Roza Terenzi alters into a lo-pressure dub expedition – better tasted at sunrise, feet buried deep in the sand and your hazy mind draped in the cosy folds of a cheerful seaside sloth with friends.

There is not much information to be found online about Bliss Inc., whose Hacking the Planet EP comes out on Radiant Love this summer. Beyond the fact they’re named Alexander and hail from Saint Petersburg, the project is cryptic – somehow this is fitting for a set of songs that could’ve fallen out of an obscure 1994 catalogue. This is the year of Robert Leiner’s Visions of the Past, Opus III’s Guru Mother, and Paul Oakenfold’s BBC-1 Essential Mix: an aesthetic region in which tech and new age spirituality braid together, a time before this synthesis reached Silicon Valley; while it still lingered in the rave, incredibly sincere, everything sounded kind of wet, and the efficiency of spirit was means to no end but a state of bliss.
What keeps Hacking the Planet from falling into pure nostalgia is its tuning – the palette of 1994 has been lifted and run through a delicate sensibility. The title track is a piece of buoyant, airy trance, with orbiting filters and a set of loopy, very vocal synths. It bumps along at 130 BPM, but feels slower because of the ease and clarity with which the track progresses. “Infinite” has got the aquatic motifs and soft, panning cymbals of a set-opener, or a comedown jam. The break that swings in after a minute-thirty feels less like a punctuation than another stream of sonics joining the flow. Picking up the pace a little, “Transitions” opens with a whir that could issue from a field of crickets or a stack of hardware. The entrance of the bassline was the first moment in this EP one could call nasty. But its drive and weight is also tempered, played against by a clever drum break, a run of piano keys, and the ethereal reverb-washed vocal sample we expect in a piece of classic mid-90’s trance – absent, however, is any kind of signalling to Goa, “exoticism” or indigenous aesthetics. (1994 was also the year of Jean Paul Gaultier’s Les Tatouages collection, which, for all its romantic nomadism and deft tailoring and syncretic spirit, has no need of a 2020 update).
Bliss Inc.’s songs stream, rather than track – one gets a sense that the elements flow in and out rather than ride a structure. Sansibar, who provides a remix of “Hacking the Planet” to round out the EP, is solidly a producer of tracks: often electro-derived ass-shaking material that hits, and hits in recognisable sections that progress serially. His version of the title cut brings in a hefty acid baseline, jungle-style stretched vocals, and kicks out of the 4/4 grid. But let there be no mistake, this is a producer also quite capable of coaxing delicacy out of hardware. The chimes of the lullaby-like breakdown halfway through the remix sound like nothing but a ghost in the machine.

NOW WE'RE WELDIN'. Dixon Avenue Basements Jams launches it's sub-label Neutralizer, a new outlet for the dirtier end of their tastes, with four honkin' jam rolls from Belfast's own Carlton Doom, purported to be the adult alias of a feral child featured in the infamous 2002 documentary, 'Wild Child'. Despite many attempts (at an apparent two million pound cost) by the state to 'civilise' him, Monsieur Doom has never really shaken off the untamed environments that shaped the absolute weirdo he is today: a steady diet of house bricks, diesel and boursin cheese translates into a primitive and powerful approach to modern machine music, at once referencing the dirty frolic of classic Hague / Glasgow manoeuvres, upcycling all that old shite to reflect a far more harrowing take on the desolate, post-sensible future we're wishing into existence. BenzodiAcid and the rhythm of hard industry, stitched together with a dod of good 'eld fashioned mechanical funk and strong will to fuck it all off. Perfect for listening to whilst chowing down on a city pigeon kebab on the dried-up banks of the River Lagan, but actually even more suitably placed through the undulating cones of an oppressively loud sound system in the basement of a telesales unit. Thoroughly optimistic vistas all round.
But we're not here to sugar coat it for ye - Neutralize your own stinking life xx

Started at the age of thirteen with a crate of his big brother's records, Dj Matpat was introduced to an eclectic mix of music that has influenced his take on House Music.
Racking up releases from labels such as Madhouse, Exploited, Plant Music, W&O Street Tracks, as well as Derrick Carter's Persnickety All Stars label, Dj Matpat has now combined his passion for production and House Music to form his own label entitled 'Clubby Boy'.
With the artistic stylings of his Philly party Club Congress and a remix by The Bunker artist Justin Cudmore, the first release 'It's Time!' (Produced by the Clubby Boy himself) can be seen as a 'call to action' either for these current times or to lose yourself with-in the dance floor.
