in March of this year we saw Jimpster's Porchlight And Rocking Chairs LP fall on expectant and eager ears, winning praise from the likes of RA, DJ Mag and Groove as well as plays and support from a host of the worlds best radio and club DJ's. With the majority of the LP being more home listening than club-focused we decided to call in some of our favorite producers to rework a track of their choice for the dance-floors and here we present you the first part of the amazing results.KiNK needs little introduction of course, except to say that his live set as well as his hands on hardware approach in the studio has seen him become established as one of the most exciting producers of the last couple of years. When he agreed to remix Porchlight And Rocking Chairs (a track he incidentally referred to as his favorite of the year!) we couldn't have been happier and knew that something very special would come from it. When he got in touch to say he'd done a version but explained it was done live in one take with all the parts being tweaked in real time making it very hard to change anything we were even more intrigued and excited. As expected, what he delivered is an intense, high energy reworking full of piercing high's and rattling lows, keeping the original chords and many of the keyboard lines in place but injecting a raw drive and improvised feel which has already seen it become a highlight of Jimpster sets this summer.

Andre Lodemann provides the perfect antidote to KiNK's frenetic version in the form of his Towards The Seer Remix, going for a tight, emotive, late night groove which develops slowly, teasing out the arrangement and keeping things sublime and understated. Subtle bass twists and dubbed out FX build to the extended break where we're introduced to the original's acoustic bass riff in all it's glory. Another brilliant Andre Lodemann production.

Although it is hard to explain why, it's unmistakeable that music's potence only parallels that of the fauna as one moves closer to the equatorial latitudes of this planet. Cachapas is a HANDy effort at exploring the dance-floor oriented sounds of the eastern Caribbean triangle formed amongst Colombia, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic where rhythms and percussions have clearly taken new life forms in the production methods of Caribbean studios during the 90s. Taking the American ideas of “House” music and adulterating it in the most pleasantly bombastic ways, some producers have shown that Latin house not only exists outside of the US but it flourishes in the most amazing and unimaginable ways. With the back catalogue burned to cinders and the last few dog eared copies at Freerange HQ looking more than a little shabby, here's your opportunity to grab some of the labels highlights on the blackstuff. The film is a story of music’s enduring power to manifest diverse and inclusive community, and the power of that community to accept and embrace, to liberate, even to save lives. It’s a story of acceptance and creative expression – empowered, enabled and soundtracked by club music. Through extensive exclusive interviews with titans of nightlife culture, Where Love Lives contributors Billy Porter, Honey Dijon, Kathy Sledge, Kiddy Smile, Lucy Fizz, John ‘Jellybean’ Benitez, Kae Burke (House Of Yes), Fiorious and many more explore how those driven to the margins of society are welcomed unconditionally to the centre of the dancefloor.

Part one of this special edition three LP pack includes future classics from The Vision, DC La Rue, Powerdance, Quentin Harris and more.

“Why Can’t We Live Together” is a song written and recorded by Timmy Thomas in 1972. A chart hit in the following year, it was included on the album Why Can’t We Live Together. It was one of the first major hits to feature the use of a rhythm machine! From his organ! Very apt for our times, this song simply gives a heartfelt antiwar message. The track has been re-recorded by the likes of Sade, MC Hammer, Santana and Steve Winwood over the years but it’s the original that has the magic of it’s creator!

Ben Liebrand ups the bpm’s for his mix. He creates a percussive jam that pumps with pure emotion. Absolute club class.

Included on this release is Ben’s (now admittedly taking ownership after 43 years) 1981 Bootleg which chugs with soul and funk goodness.

RnB flips for summertime trips - DSO lay down another slice of the hottest heaters out there. A double trouble house injection, reworking these certified classics into club head turners.

On the 8th of 10 planned releases on his BOO MOONMAN limited imprint, BOO continues to hone and refine his very particular "cosmic house" sound. As usual you'll hear masterfully crafted deep house cuts that take you on a journey thru outer (and) innerspace. Hand-stamped white label.

Hardmatter is back and keeping it in the family with another slice of Detroit deep house. The Dirty Digital EP sees label mainstays Malik Alston and Javonntte reveal their new performance and production partnership, "Dirtydigital", in a four-track EP that unites the jazz, soul and late-night grooves of the master and apprentice duo. With percussive grit and sensual vocals, the eponymous A1, Dirtydigital, finds Javonntte in peaktime Shelter-era form, while the Latin groove of Alston’s A2, Lightshine, serves as a rhythmic, jazzy counterpoint. A similar pairing is found on the flip with Javonntte’s Martha’s In Love’s head-bopping, solo-infused Detroit vibe riding out B1, while B2, Alston’s second contribution, rounds the EP with his inimitably rich and complex musicality. Something for everyone!

For the label's fourth release, JVXTA returns to Hardmatter to deliver 3 gorgeous house cuts. The A side, Possible, finds the producer on top form with a medley of classic sampling, live keys and a driving late-night groove. The flip side delivers a more serene affair with the enveloping chords and freeform strings of Suzuku Dream. The EP finishes with the jazz of Here I'll Stay, a vibrant jam that leaves us with an ode to the future of Hardmatter.

Ira James - owner and orchestrator of Vessel Recordings Group US - is treating us to plenty of newness this month and first up is Natural Rhythm with this transparent yellow vinyl 12". It's pure deep house bliss from the off with 'No Clothes' pairing rubbery and punchy kicks with some liquid synths that bring colour and depth. After the delightful '1985' comes 'City Life' which has a more dubby and bulbous low end that disappears out of sight as snappy snares power along the groove. 'Dust Redux' closes out with some sleek synth work and tech house minimalism that is pure dancing bait for the heads.

INEX016 takes you on a magical journey through the mellow realm of house music. Veteran Eddie C delivers a disco-infused belter that will make your hips shake. Tilman presents a juicy nu-groove track that transports you back to May 1st, 1992. Making his wax debut, Julius Renner offers a soulful voyage to the peak of the dance floor. Toomy Disco, a newcomer on InEx aswell, delivers a shuffling and groovy bomb, pondering the future of DJs. Ron Brown collaborates on a deep, almost Latin-spiced organ track with moments of melancholy and hope. Lastly, Meeshoo touches our souls with strings and disco excellence.

A very special autumnal presentation from FaltyDL & Studio Barnhus, in the form of a perfect little slab of 12'' vinyl, exhibiting the love for the classic house sound that burns within the hearts of the prolific New York producer as well as the Swedish dance music
powerhouse. In particular, “Our House Is Barnhus” honours and updates the deeper side of the French touch – think Pépé Bradock and early St. Germain – fully displaying the state-ofthe-art production skills and emotional depth always present in Drew Lustman's music.
Known for his shapeshifting sound, FaltyDL has been releasing explorative electronic music for over a decade, switching his sound up intuitively across 6 albums, remixes for The xx and Mount Kimbie, executive production credits for Mykki Blanco and a multitude of
singles and EPs, including two previous Studio Barnhus editions in 2021 and 2019.

Lumberjacks In Hell is the Amsterdam based label run by Marcel Vogel that was established in 2010 and has long been a great source of leftfield club tunes. Having worked with a variety of international artists like Jamie 3:26, Philou Louzolo, Rayko, Karizma and Giovanni Damico, LJIH proudly presents its first release in two and half years from Lu/Lu & LYMA with ‘Hotmoltenlava’.

Production duo Lucas van Ee and Tjerk Lammers are collaborators extraordinaire, brothers speaking in code and working in unison, a hive mind of ideas and creativity that was always bound to erupt like a Vulcano. Favorite Recordings presents Faché, a new long awaited EP by Voilaaa, including 3 brand new tracks from the Afro-Disco maestro, and tasty exclusive versions. Hypnotone's iconic self titled mini album reissued!

Originally released by Creation Records in 1991, long out of print and now reissued, meticulously remastered and pressed onto pristine white vinyl.

Exclusive liner notes by band member Tony Martin "The Hypnotone Story: From Manchester to Creation" and including after hours favorite "Sub" and Balearic hit "Dream Beam" featuring vocals by Denise Johnson.

Formed in the vibrant milieu of Manchester's legendary Hacienda nightclub, Hypnotone emerged from the creative partnership of Tony Martin and Martin Mittler. Tony, initially involved as the in-house lighting designer, and Mittler, a bar staff member, fused their interests and talents amid the fervor of the late '80s Acid House movement that pulsated through the club. Their musical venture began earnestly after an introduction to Alan McGee, head of Creation Records. This connection would soon lead to a record deal, propelling Hypnotone into the heart of the emerging electronic dance music scene, releasing 2 albums, multiple singles and standout remixes for artists such as Primal Scream, Sheer Taft, and The Lilac Time.

With Creation Records' support, Hypnotone crafted their unique sound combining state-of-the-art digital samplers like the Akai S1000 with a collection of classic analog synths. Their debut self titled mini album includes after hours favorite "Sub" and Balearic hit "Dream Beam" featuring vocals by Denise Johnson. Hypnotone not only shaped their distinct sonic footprint but also influenced the broader trajectory of electronic music. Their journey, marked by innovation anda deep affinity for Manchester's music scene, exemplifies the transformative power of the era's cultural and technological shifts in music.

This is another must have for collectors and fans of early British (pop) house music, and very happy memories.

Rebirth is proud to release 'Free Bass', the brand new single from Dave Lee Aka Joey Negro. Under a plethora of other monikers including Akabu, Doug Willis, The Sunburst Band, Jakatta, Raven Maize, Sessomatto, and Z Factor, Dave was one of the first artists to incorporate disco samples in house music when he began his production career in the late 80's. Dave moved to London in 1986 where he launched his first imprint, Republic Records home to early recordings of Burrell, Blaze, Frankie Bones, Da Posse and many more . In 1990 he released his first solo single on the prestigious New York label Nu Groove and in the following years the launch of his new label Z Records.
Joey Negro has produced remixes for artists such as Kelly Rowland, Mariah Carey, Royksopp, Roisin Murphy, Diana Ross, Pet Shop Boys, Labrynth and produced artists such as Take That and Robbie Williams. Crossover hits like 'American Dream', 'The Real Life', 'Must Be The Music', 'Make A Move On Me' and My Vision (with Seal) have led Joey Negro to be considered as one of the greatest ambassadors of European house music.
Despite the mainstream successes the majority of Dave's productions have had their heart in underground clubland, with releases on seminal house music labels like Transmat, Easy Street, JBO, Azuli, Deconstruction, Guidance and NRK.
Freebass is an ode to the bass guitar, an unusual nu disco cut that is completely centered around a live bass jam - not unlike something you'd hear on a Larry Graham or Stanley Clarke LP.
Add in a slamming beat, some super funky clavinet riffs, a Parliament style vocal chant and you've got quirky club cut that's hard to stay still to. Rebirth producers Shield and Corrado Bucci get together to create a strong re-edit, adding atmospheric swirling, filtered strings and giving the track a deeper touch.
Surely something you will hear in your summer nights!!

We are delighted to announce that July 2023 is the month in which you will finally be able to know the new Apparel Wax product: Apparel Wax Mini. The Mini catalogue (dedicated to 7-inch vinyl) fits into the narrative of our masked hero as a sort of prequel, as the 'Mini' vinyl represents the 'childhood' of Apparel Wax, his life before its music started to be heard around the world. Another novelty is that the first release is double. In fact, APLWAXMINI001 and 002 will drop on the same day, both containing two tracks, one on each side. With a physical product of different size, we have also adapted the graphic design of the project, as you'll notice looking at the record. A new adventure begins in the world of the masked artist who, this time, will tell another musical story created by the now famous anonymous collective of phenomenal artists behind the project. APLWAX002's A side features a dynamic Disco/Dance touch and a vibrant funky feel while B side has a more Lo-Fi taste and a powerful rhythm section, both combining to create a burst of rhythm.

Stockholm boys Ari Bald & CJ Scott strike again on Studio Barnhus, following up their much lauded 2023 EP for their hometown label. Once again we're treated to a fabulously fuss-less four-pack of house music goodness, this time with a special ode to Västertorp, encapsulating the essence and soul of the Stockholm
suburb in this collection heartfelt, club-ready cuts.

Veteran producer Blende debuts on Studio Barnhus, the Athens-based Swede delivering 3 cuts full of force and rich in detail, perfectly straddling that line between weirdo pop and freaky dance that the Stockholm label loves to explore. Vocal contributions from Belgian rock experimentalist Mickael Karkousse and Los Angeles-based singer-DJ sensation Smiles Davis complete the package, along with a trippy and menacing cover by graphic wizard Stefan Fält. An essential Studio Barnhus dance record!
Johan Blende is a Swedish music producer, song writer and DJ. For the biggest part of this side of the millennium he’s been weaving together modern dance music elements with retro sounds of the ‘70s and ‘80s.

The sought after track "THE UNDERTAKER" is next on BOO MOONMAN RECORDS. Originally released on RELIEF, the DAT recordings of "THE UNDERTAKER","LAST CALL", "KICKIN'" & "FEEL THE DRIVE" have been newly recorded! All feature BOO'S signature swing & uptempo vibes.

Chicago legend Boo Williams steps into the Afro House arena on this 4 track 12" feat. Jamiel Patton. Boo's trademark floaty spaced out keys float and dance around Jamiel's outstanding vocoded vocal work. B-side's "Space Mix" pushes the title track further into techy sci-fi territory.

2022 Repress

After a few nice but largely unnoticed 12"s for lower-profile labels, Dürerstuben is ready to make a serious maneuver, and Pampa is pleased to provide them with the proper platform. The Sheets of Rane EP is the Berliner duo's most sophisticated statement yet, imbuing cold programmed sounds with a glowing human touch and a penchant for melody. A1 'Gscheids Planet' unfolds with a deceptive intro, click-clackety downtempo stomps and crunchy snares beneath a tender vocoder coo, just when some muted guitar plucks crescendo into a burst of robo-synths. Although three minutes have passed, only now does the song reveal its true nature, a summery tune with rich synths that billow in the wind. Then, as its title indicates, 'Haeckles Kosmos' further explores Dürerstuben's fascination with the unlimits of outer space. This star system in particular has a very tropical flair, punctuated with bouncy parallel fifths straight out of the Italo Orient. In between movements, the duo makes some brief non sequiturs into piano balladry, the kind that force a smile (and a record deal) out of DJ Koze. Finally, venturing even further into jacking territory, 'Freiherr in der Wall' hinges upon syncopated, sometimes faltering beatbox rhythms, a swaggering bassline and fluttering arpeggiation. Coupled with hand-played chords, this is a prime example of how Dürerstuben can tame the beast machine and let irregularities be strengths. If you can get down with Metro Area, Zapp, Tensnake, and yes, even Survivor, then pick this one up.

Chicago's very own works his magic on 4 more classic funk/soul jams: STEVIE WONDER's "AS IF YOU READ MY MIND" and T-CONNECTION's "DO WHAT YOU WANNA DO" b/w EDDIE KENDRICKS "GIRL YOU NEED A CHANGE OF MIND" (with a little GRACE JONES) and MOTHERS FINEST "CAN'T FIGHT YOUR FEELINGS". Another winner!

GU is once again digging thru his deep archive of tracks, finding hot musical creations that slipped thru the cracks over the course of his prolific 38 years producing house music. These 4 previously unreleased tracks run the stylistic gamut of GU's career and should not be missed.

Fusing MORODER-esque Italo arpeggios with a stunning vocal performance from the incomparable SWAYLO, alongside his signature deep house style, GLENN returns to his home imprint in top form to close out 2023 with these 2 tracks. Vocal on the A side and instrumental on the flip.
