From "Tomorrow" and back to plus thirty years, more precisely in 1987, a teenager named Thomas, Thomas Barnett the full name, released the track "I Can Feel It" mixed by Juan Atkins, one of the first mix by who became the main DJ and producer from Thomas's hometown, Detroit.

Today "I Can Feel It" is a very hard to find record that finally will be available for an official reissue via Omaggio, after a skillful re-master from the original source by Andy Toth former member of Detroit Grand Pubahs.

History says that the '87 was a lucky year for Thomas Barnett, who also written "Nude Photo" the second ever release out on Transmat, credited to Rhythim Is Rhythim, definitely one of the moment to define the genre. Well, we all agree to consider Mr. Barnett an originator of Detroit Techno. From there Thomas travels across the world as DJ and live performer and when at home he is a busy managing multiple labels and still an illuminated recording artist.

TEEBS veröffentlicht Vinyl Reissue seines kultisch verehrten Debüts und Durchbruchsalbums „Ardour“ an, welches vor 10 Jahren erstmals via Brainfeeder veröffentlicht wurde!

Am 11. Oktober 2010 veröffentlichte Brainfeeder das Debütalbum eines 23-jährigen Ex-Skaters, Malers und Musikproduzenten aus Chino Hills namens Teebs (wirklicher Name Mtendere Mandowa). Der Titel "Ardour" bedeutet großer Enthusiasmus, Liebe oder Leidenschaft und war eine treffende Beschreibung für seine von Natur aus warmen, üppig texturierten Beats. Er ist ein unbestrittener Klassiker im Brainfeeder-Kanon und gilt weithin als ein wesentliches Kapitel in dem sich ständig weiterentwickelnden Puzzle der globalen "Beat-Szene”. Auf „Ardour“ (10th Anniversary Edition) finden sich neben den Hits wie „Why Like This“ oder „Gordon“ sechs neue Songs auf der D-Seite, die bis heute unveröffentlicht blieben. Teebs, der seine Wurzeln beim "My Hollow Drum"-Kollektiv, Dublab und Low End Theory hat, ist eine feste Größe in der Musikszene von Los Angeles. The album 'Balance' by Frank Bretschneider & Taylor Deupree was originally released in 2002 by Mille Plateaux on CD only. The 9 tracks on 'Balance' are a perfect example for the aesthetics to arise within the Click & Cuts scene and (ambient-)glitch music movement of the late 90s and early 2000s.

The two masters of microscopic sounds and sine wave/white noise-based music constructed these seamlessly mixed pieces around rhythms and melodies, which grants the album plenty of dynamics. The wide variety of carefully chosen ambient sounds throughout the whole work endows 'Balance' warmth and intimacy.

The recordings are now available for the first time on vinyl within the KeplarRev series, presented in a new updated artwork based on the original layout with photographs by Taylor Deupree.

"Balance is the first and so far only collaborative release from Frank Bretschneider (Berlin) and Taylor Deupree (Brooklyn). Both of these artists are no strangers to the ears of many; Taylor Deupree is one of New York's most vibrant electronic producers. From his early techno days as a member of Prototype 909 to his current status as one of N. America's key "microscopic" electronic composers and to add runs the prestigious 12K and LINE labels. Frank Bretschneider is a key member and founder of the prestigious Raster Music label, he has critically acclaimed releases under the names Komet and Produkt. It's easy to say that Frank Bretschneider has created some of the most influential spatial electronics of the late 90's.

Utilizing both artists keen ears for carefully crafted sounds, Balance blends the clean sine wave / white noise of Bretschneider with the defined grit of Deupree's granular synthesis. Realized entirely on Nord Modular synthesizers, Bretschneider and Deupree exchanged patch files through email and began constructing foundation loops. Bretschneider then created initial mixes of 9 songs and then sent them to Deupree who remixed and re-processed them. This digital exchange allowed for them to work using their own methods and aesthetic while combining the similarities of each others interests. The result is a looping and churning rhythmic work that is both synthetic, warm, dubby and tonally challenging. Thus Balance creates an engaging balance between the 2 artists aesthetics."

Renaissance recruit Tale of Us for the second the second edition of their quarterly-century celebrations.With the first release in this series occupying #1 status for 6 weeks last summer, Renaissance are back with the second instalment of their 25th Anniversary 'The Remix Collection' project. For the follow-up to Solomun's immense reworking of Age Of Love, Renaissance have bagged more Techno royalty in the shape of Italian duo Tale Of Us, to take on the huge task of remixing another iconic 90's classic.The track in question is the legendary 'Café Del Mar' by the 90's trance project, Energy 52. Much alike the previous remix by Solomun, it seems Tale Of Us also have their work cut out for them, as this track has had no shortage of remixes over the years. However, the popularity of 'Café Del Mar' is not simply reflected through its remix roster. Named after the iconic bar at the heart of the Ibiza clubbing scene, it was the soundtrack to the rave-culture movie, 'Human Traffic' in 1999. In addition to this 'Café Del Mar' later went on to be voted #1 in MixMag's 2001 '500 Best Tracks Ever' list.With this second remix, Tale of Us take the classic elements that made Café Del Mar such a huge track in the 90's, bringing them into the present-day with big licks of bass and a huge crescendo. With MEL016, Melodies International are extremely proud to take one more step into house territory with their reissue of what certainly constitute the two most exciting remixes of Flame by UK Trip Hop group Crustation: New York House legends Mood II Swing’s Vocal and Borderline Insanity Dub mixes. John Ciafone and Lem Springsteen from Mood II Swing grew up and met in New York City in the early 90s. They were club kids with roots in early hip hop, soul and disco and soon decided to start producing together. After a fateful encounter with Louie Vega from Masters At Work, Ciafone and Springsteen committed to pursue dance music, and given the opportunity started releasing their own records that would lead them to settle in as genre defining house producers celebrated by their contemporaries back then whilst informing and influencing the styles of many eminent dance music producers of today. Flame was originally produced by Crustation, a Trip Hop group from Bristol formed by Ian Dark, Stig Manley, Mark Tayler and singer Bronagh Slevin, as part of their last album Bloom originally released in 1997 on Jive. The same year, Jive released a string of remixes including two from Mood II Swing included here on this release.

What a privilege it is to continue this series of reworks and remasters on Food Music and this time we’ve got "I’m Rushing” from Bump!! The original from 1992 was (and still is) one of the most infectious house records ever made, with it’s uplifting synth patterns and vocals filling the air with pure joy and happiness. In addition to a re-master on the well known original, the new reworks here bring “I’m Rushing” bang up to date in impeccable style. Chambray leads the charge with an uplifting new synth pattern and pounding drums which compliment the original so well. Theo Kottis steps up with a beautiful mix that adds an Italo twist to complete a killer reworks package. Don’t sleep on this one.

Delsin turns its attention to the archives of one of the great early pioneers of Dutch techno - Eevo Lute Muzique. The label was founded in 1991 by Wladimir Manshanden and Stefan Robbers (who was already recording seminal early techno records as Terrace for Djax-Up-Beats). Channeling the inspiration of the Detroit originators and mixing it up with their own synth pop and new wave influences, Manshanden and Robbers (adopting the Florence alias) forged a bold aesthetic with Eevo Lute, both musically and visually. This was an early iteration of techno as listening music, with an emphasis on expression and narrative over dancefloor functionality, helped in no small part by Manshanden's striking poetry. This double set of remastered, reissued tracks gathers together the earliest Florence and Wladimir M. material, largely recorded between 1991 and 1994, across five discs - the definitive document of a treasured piece of Dutch techno history. Comes with inlay and liner notes by Oliver Warwick.

A masterclass in millennial House, Sasu Ripatti aka Vladislav Delay’s debut as Luomo returns for a 20th anniversary edition newly remastered at D&M and packing the deepest bounce per ounce Upon its original release in 2000, ‘Vocalcity’ was a totally unexpected turn from the artist best known as Vladislav Delay, who’d by then established his reputation as a producer of abstract dub techno for Chain Reaction that was ostensibly far removed from deep, vocal-led house music. But prejudices were swiftly assuaged as the Finnish artist’s keen knack for shifty rhythm programming was brought in line with Johanna Johanna Livanainen’s perfectly poised vocals, revealing the core influence of sensuous, soulful deep house and garage on his sound in a similar way to the links between Maurizio’s M-Series and the vocal-led Main Street volumes. Twenty years later it’s fair to say the 6 tracks of ‘Vocalcity’ have withstood the test of time and are bound to weave their slinky magick on ‘floors everywhere. With mint copies now near-impossible to find on the 2nd hand market, this new pressing of ‘Vocalcity’ is perfectly timed for a zeitgeist looking to the late ‘90s and early ’00s for inspiration. Cut a side-per-track, just like the original edition, each of the songs - ranging between 10 and 16 minutes each - have plentiful headroom and leg space for dancers, DJs and audiophiles, keeping the album’s crucial balance of luxuriant minimalism, and the space between its coiled grooves and burning vocals, perfectly taut and intact. The multi-media project Kraftwerk was started in Düsseldorf, Germany 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. They set up their electronic Kling Klang Studio where they conceived and produced all Kraftwerk albums.

Kraftwerk created the soundtrack for the digital age of the 21st century. AUTOBAHN 1974, RADIO-ACTIVITY 1975, TRANS EUROPE EXPRESS 1977, THE MAN-MACHINE 1978, COMPUTER WORLD 1981, TECHNO POP 1986, THE MIX 1991, TOUR DE FRANCE 2003. Their compositions, using innovative techniques, electronic sounds and synthetic voices combined with computerised rhythms, had a major musical influence on Electro, Hip Hop, Techno and Synth-Pop.

Incredible as it seems, this year marks twenty years since the launch of Johnny D'Mairo's
Henry Street Music label. To celebrate, BBE is marking the occasion with a sumptuous five-
disc CD retrospective, a fitting tribute to one of the most important of all house labels. This is
one of the most extensive grand summations yet done of a dance label.
Henry Street Music exemplified its era as much as Trax and Nu-Groove had theirs. Come the
mid-'90s, the disco cut-up became ubiquitous, as thousands tried to emulate the success of
Henry Street's first big killer, The Bucketheads' Tha Bomb -still a dancefloor staple two
decades on.
