Zur Feier des 40-jährigen Jubiläums des belgischen Labels PIAS erscheint exklusive Auswahl an 12“-EPs mit Musik von einigen der wichtigsten und erfolgreichsten Wegbegleiter. Mark Thomas Griffin, besser bekannt als MC 900 FT JESUS, ist amerikanischer Rapper aus Dallas, Texas. Griffin ist ein klassisch ausgebildeter Musiker und Trompeter und bekannt für seine Mischung aus Hip-Hop, Jazz und Elektronik, die in den 90er-Jahren ihrer Zeit weit voraus war. Seine Texte sind oft sozialkritisch geprägt, aber durchzogen von seinem bissigen und bisweilen schrulligen Humor.

"BASELINE CAVI" is a collaboration album between Inland Empire/Los Angeles rapper Trizz and producer MIKE SUMMERS (aka Seven) from Kansas City. The album has that classic Westcoast Hip-Hop sound and the intro track gives that feeling right away. Guest features on the album are from Bino Rideaux, XV, T.F, ICECOLDBISHOP, John Givez and Bale.

Though fans may not know it, this collaboration between Inland Empire California emcee Trizz and Kansas City production ace MIKE SUMMERS has been brewing for close to a decade. Back in 2013 SUMMERS (then known as Seven) was already a prolific producer signed to Tech N9ne's Strange Music label and Trizz was part of horrorcore legend Brotha Lynch Hung's Madesicc Muzic roster. The two connected while working on Lynch Hung's "Mannibalector" album and a spark for future work was laid.

Linking up in spring of last year, the two creatively fed off each-other with the resulting album evoking classic West Coast melodicism and car-rattling thump. As Trizz states "this sh*t is so f*ckin authentic. It got bounce, it's swangin' and bangin! When you hear this album, you can feel it and damn near smell the palm trees and bomb ass weed."

As SUMMERS relayed "It's probably different for a lot of my fans to hear a more classic West Coast style of production from me, but that style of production has always been embedded in my sound. I grew up on 90's West Coast Hip-Hops studying producers like DJ Quik and Dr. Dre. The only reason I started using lots of live musicians on my tracks was because I watched Quik do it. BASELINE CAVI really let me dig into that classic L.A. sound that I've always wanted to build with.

Lyrically Trizz's immediately distinctive flow and storytelling abilities are at a new plateau with the emcee admitting "The lyrics on this album are probably more refined and defined because I just turned 30 and I have no more time to waste."

The last and long-awaited third instalment of the trilogy "For The Luv Of It" is finally out, exclusively on vinyl. After Volume 3 and Volume 2, both critically acclaimed and supported by a worldwide audience, E.Blaze just released Volume One, with an emphasis on instrumental versions of some of his classic productions such as "Capital Q" by Infamous Mobb, "Contagious" by D.i.T.C's O.C. and AG from their oasis album, and with a mix of updated bangers from the past alongside some new productions.

Eric Blaze (E. Blaze) is a Paris record shop owner, a worldwide music producer and a label manager at The Group NYC. Before embarking on his New York journey, he co-founded the legendary Hip Hop French group Tout Simplement Noir in 1989 and eventually decided to move to the Mecca of Hip Hop where he has worked for two decades as a vinyl specialist at world-famous A1 and Academy records, and as a music producer, crafting numerous tracks for Hip Hop finest MCs such as Krs one, D.I.T.C., Milano Constantine, OC and AG, Blaq Poet, Infamous Mobb, etc. Over the years, to highlight his skills and efforts, and most importantly recognized and encouraged by his peers. Wiz Khalifa, Big K.R.I.T., Smoke DZA and Girl Talk have released their collaborative LP Full Court Press. The product of over a decade-long friendship among the artists, the new album is a timeless and upbeat rap record.

On the project’s lead single, March’s “Put You On,” the group drops bars about the come-up of their respective careers. Leading up to the release, they shared more songs and accompanying music videos, including a visual for the party track “Ain’t No Fun” directed by kee and Bawwse.

“Collaborating with Girl Talk, Big K.R.I.T., and Smoke DZA on this album has been a long time coming,” Khalifa said. “Putting it together and throwing the house party for the “Ain’t No Fun” video was the perfect way to wrap the album.”

After a six year hiatus Twardowski returns with his fourth album on U Know Me Records. The newest outing is a retrofuturistic trip to the author's two biggest influences: instrumental hip-hop and… video games. The new album eschews Twardowski's previous synth-heavy style in favor of multiple layers of chopped and mended together samples, topped off by cuts from U Know Me's own jazz guitarist/turntablist Żyńy. The album invokes video games with the track titles, the LP's title being a homage to coin-ops and via the overall sound: wonky, heavily shuffled, almost-out-of-sync rhythms sounding almost as if the tracks were done sampler in one hand gamepad in the other, over a lengthy, laid back gaming/sequencing session. Maybe if a gamepad was a sampler and instrumental hip-hop was a game, "One Coin Clear" could have been its soundtrack.

Slam is the dark and intriguing movie of a young MC Ray Joshua, who lives in a neighborhood which is dominated by gang wars and drugs. One day he is arrested when his drug dealer is shot in front of him and he is put in prison. While in in prison he uses his skills to stop violence and meets Lauren Bell who encourages him to better his situation and get out of his cycle.

Slam won several prizes, Winner Grand Jury Prize at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival and Winner Best Film 1998 Cannes Film Festival (Director's Fortnight). The Original Soundtrack reached to #24 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and got into the Billboard 200 Album charts.

Washington born electronic and experimental hip hop musician DJ Spooky was the music producer for the soundtrack. 10-piece UK afro-fusion outfit TC & The Groove Family are proud to share their new EP ‘We Have Each Other’. Releasing on Friday 7th June via Bridge The Gap, the project sees the band refine the sound debuted on their 2022 album ‘First Home’. Returning to work once again with producer Tom Excell (Nubiyan Twist, ONIPA), the project explores a darker sonic palette, channelling a deep appreciation of UK bass and electronic music alongside afro-jazz sounds and hip-hop sensibilities.

The record documents a time of change within the group - a new lineup, plus members living in different cities and pursuing various paths - whilst also reflecting the turbulent socio-political climate, and the major shifts and changes on the horizon for humanity. However, despite the heavy subject material, the band strike an optimistic, uplifting tone, with MC Franz Von channeling the music into a message encouraging listeners to look around and embrace
community, whatever that may look like. Bandleader Tim Cook shares:

Amidst a series of unfortunate life events, he found solace and inspiration in the beats he had crafted years prior.

Each track on "Nosthaigia" is a reflection of his journey, a sonic expression of longing and introspection. Onra describes the process of creating the album as a cathartic release, a way of letting go of old memories and embracing the present.

Despite the somber undertones, there is a quiet beauty to "Nosthaigia" that is impossible to ignore. Onra's vintage production skills breathe life into each track, infusing them with warmth and depth. From the haunting melodies of "Until The End" to the hypnotic rhythms of "Close Your Eyes And Remember" every moment feels poignant.

Onra's decision to "remove all the bangers" from the album speaks volumes about his artistic integrity and dedication to authenticity. 3 Feet High and Rising is the debut studio album by hip-hop trio De La Soul, and was released on March 3, 1989. It marked the first of three full-length collaborations with producer Prince Paul, which would become the critical and commercial peak of both parties.
