Churning out bass-centered dance music for over half a decade, the talented artist has unceasingly refined his sonic qualities, a certainty, which is further proven to be true with TCR002 - a four-track heavyweight of his collaboration with venerated MC and vocalist Ras Tinny - dubbed 'Freedom of Movement'. With the original 'Again Again', a dub version and two high-grade remixes by the likes of Alpha & Omega and Akcept, this one will be sure to be heard on sound systems all over - version business along a digital bonus track: Alpha & Omega's Dub Version.

Wondrous flute melodies emerge and join the true-to-the-roots rhythm alongside the invigorating chants of Ras Tinny, submerged in low frequencies and skanking chords. Drawn into deep meditation, the resulting soundscape serves to illuminate JahYu's respect- and skillful application of his oriental heritage. Dub-Stuy welcomes up and coming producer Blind Prophet for a conscious dub release in collaboration with Russia's Tenor Youthman and Italy's Numa Crew.

Long Island, New York's Blind Prophet makes his debut on Dub-Stuy Records alongside the vocal talents of Tenor Youthman , one of the founders of Russia's Lion Posse sound system. ' Marijuana Burns Capitalism ' is a deep and meditative social statement sure to move the dance and stimulate the heads.

On 'Marijuana Burns Capitalism', Blind Prophet lays down a solid riddim, with a deep driving bassline and a bubbly harpsichord skank, for Tenor Youthman to sing about the liberating properties of hemp in fighting the evils of mass production and capitalism. The result is a simple and effective cut backed by a sparse dub that lets the drums and bass roll out to full effect.

The flip side sees Florence's Numa Crew deliver their own fire for the dance with another straight to the chest dub version that focuses on the bassline and Tenor's unique vocal style.

Jamaiel Shabaka was born in the parish of St.Thomas, Jamaica. As far as he remember, he grew up like a child in the country side by farming vegetables under the sun with his family. At the age of five of seven years old, he moved with his family to Los Angeles, California. He discovered music with his mum playing piano and that's how he started singing.

Sometimes he came back to Jamaica and there he experienced Sound System for the first time. There he met a brethren named Ras Kiddus. Jamaiel wanted to meet Sugar Minott so he asked Ras Kiddus to help him. Ras Kiddus brought him to the Youth Promorion yard and organized a meeting. Sugar Minott took time to help Jamaiel to produce his song 'I Am That I Am' at Channel 1 studio on Maxfield avenue. The melody came to him with the inspiration of Jah Rastafari.

ZamZam 52 is a fully outernational collaboration between Bukkha (Spain/US), Madplate Sound (Italy) and Junior Dread (Brazil). Tom Van Zeytveld AKA Phuture-T is well known to followers of hard-edged dubwise jungle from his many stellar releases on labels including Alphacut, 45Seven, and Eastern Promise Audio. In a landscape of similar-sounding steppers, Zeytvelt reveals his Emperor T alias on his first outing for ZamZam, bringing a welcome experimental sensibility to the worldwide steppers arena, while keeping sound system priorities and dancefloor imperatives firmly in view. Macka Step Dub" is a pounding 128 bpm killer that opens with congas, skanks, and a minimal guitar lick, but quickly ramps up the energy with a pounding kick, sick sine wave bass, clattering percussion and sirens, building the tension to a massive breakdown. When the smoke clears, magisterial horns and insistent skanks lead the way as the riddim rebuilds, the tape echo spools out, and the dance forwards on.Mek It Run Dub" is cut from the same sonic cloth but faster, and tweaking the template with a more organic bass sound, flanged skanks, and stark shocks from the spring reverb. With militant horns echoing from deep down the Well over a pummeling kick and bass attack, this one is a serious threat to a soundboy. Both tunes were mixed and dubbed out at Phuture-Studios in Amsterdam, mastered and cut by the one Lewis at Star Delta Mastering in Devon.

Digi roots with runaway steppers version, from 1995 getting a timely reissue.

ZamZam embarks on their next 50 releases with the return of Portland's own Systemwide. After a many-years hiatus the crew once hailed as 'The States' finest dub band,' by author & journalist Jeff Chang, is back with two new adventures into live left-of-center dubwise.Systemwide released their first album 20 years ago this year, and dealt in an utterly unique live, full-band, leftfield, DIY mutation of dub until 2003. They collaborated extensively with Sound Secretion (now known as Alter Echo), and were remixed by the likes of Muslimgauze, Twilight Circus, Zion Train, Alpha & Omega, Deadbeat, and many others. They were well-known as a live band from Seattle to LA, opened for Lee Perry and Dub Syndicate up and down the West Coast, and were mixed live by none other than Scientist.Aside from the occasional reunion show, a number of forces sent the band into a long hiatus. But a new generation was exposed to their unique brand of live dubwise via Bristol's No Corner in 2016, when the label reissued two early cuts on limited 12'. This release was a partial catalyst for the creation of these new tunes. In truth the boys had been getting together every few months since 2013 to blast out improvised jams for fun, but with the foresight to multitrack every minute of them. The task was then to shape two of these freeform jams into proper tunes. Systemwide was always at their best live, and both of these sides capture that energy while harnessing the vibes to 7' length. The lineup is a deadly tight combo of midi drums (Tim Ennis), Korg and Moog bass (Mondell Wells), samples and FX (Steve Wegner), Synths and keys (Tim Andrews), and percussion and samples (Ezra Ereckson AKA E3). For this release the crew chose to recruit Alter Echo for a mix, as his deft touch always brought out the deepest aspects of the band's sound. In addition, it felt natural to ask Dubkasm for a version as they championed the No Corner 12' with enthusiasm and earnest love."Low Orbit" describes a heavy, dark, enveloping dub universe in the classic Systemwide fashion, led by a growling, minimal bassline with swung drums fully locked. Thick, swirling, alien atmospheres that wed inner out and outer space through ancient samples, test tones, cosmic sparkles and a gallery of organic percussion. Hard and low-slung at 134 bpm, it pitches up easily for the 140 crew. Dubkasm's remix of 'Liberation' echoes out from the same well, offering a solemn, magisterial steppers with bubbling bassline and keys seeming to refract each other through dubwise prisms. Bristol legend and Rasta elder Ras Addis intones words of wisdom as Stryda and Digistep work their magic with a brilliant hide-and-seek journey through the tune's instrumentation and the deep spaces opened up through their own hardware and Sountracs desk.

Volk's remix is inspired to the New York Techno scene with stomp drum, raw groove and marked synth. Side B open with "Substance" by Asylum, this track contains dark and closed sounds, a real trip into shadows. Jeff Rushin revisits this creating a very functional tool, and especially the right mix of dark and dancefloor's sounds.

We are very happy to welcome Jeroen Verschueren AKA Digid into the ZamZam fold with two cuts of high grade sound system fire. Straight outta Belgium, Digid has had our attention for a few years now thanks to a string of crucial releases on labels including Cubiculo, Moonshine, and Lion Charge. We dare say this wicked release will further his steep rise in profile.

We Nah Go' is a well-tested weapon, a full-charge stepper with both deep space and big room appeal. Crisp & heavy production captivate with sizzling high end, massive bassweight, and kick drum pushing into the red. The cinematic melodic figure, majestic horns, and mysterious, reverb-soaked atmosphere add up to a can't-fail powerhouse in the dance.

Digital Time' counters with a similar sonic palette and epic sweep, but an utterly deep and more meditative vibe. This is full eyes-down weaponry with a half time/one drop feel, chasms of reverb, tape echo madness, and a wobbly bassline from the eternal present of Early Dubstep.

There are few producers in the world of underground bass and dubwise music working today with the breadth, depth, and genre-busting powers of Ognjen Zecevic, the man called Egoless. From post-everything blasts of wonky crunch & bass, to the most sparkling, orthodox reggae, his mastery of analog and digital production, and his free-roaming imagination and intuition make every Egoless plate a special, surprising, and rewarding experience. We've been holding this tune for some time... we kept it back as we knew right away it was fully deserving of the #50 spot in our catalog, a release we've been steadily working towards for a full 5 years. It exemplifies what we have tried to build with ZamZam - a body of forward thinking heart and soul music, message music, physical music, sound system music.
For "Non-Immigrant Song' the Croatian Gorgon linked with rising sing-jay star Tenor Youthman (virtually unknown outside of his native Russia when the tune was recorded). Egoless says "It was one of those moments when I received a message and some tunes from a guy in Russia, expecting the worst English ever... Oh how I was wrong, this guy blew me away with the natural organic quality of his voice and we did this tune shortly afterward.'
The lyric was extremely relevant when we first heard it, but we could not have imagined how relevance would turn to urgency with the rise of anti-immigrant extremism, Brexit, Trumpism and full-blown fascist infections spreading in so many parts of the world. A plea to all those who lose touch with our humanity when we treat anyone as 'other' - native-born as immigrants, immigrants as refugees, refugees as less than human.As for the music... an effortlessly swinging, massive one drop riddim in classic formation. Buttery bass and thick kick hitting hard in unison. Sparse and spare. Strictly analog effects and flawless instrumentation. We asked Egoless for a truly OUT dub version to back the vocal, and he obviously didn't disappoint - absolute desk & tape madness in the tradition of the most dub-me-crazy Ariwa or Black Ark meltdowns.

'Analog Dub Sessions' is where Frenk's music hits vinyl for the first time, while he's using analog synths to come up with some catchy, unique basslines. In both tracks the stepper riddim provides a solid groove, a deep 4 x 4 kickdrum, halftime phasing and reverbing snares, offbeat snares for a polyrhythmic feel and hihats for some steady top end while the chords and FX sounds are completing the mix and applying even more depth and texture. 2 unique sound system bangers!

ZamZam Sounds' Tracy and Ezra have been close followers of Alpha & Omega and Alpha Steppa from day. ZamZam is well-pleased to finally be able to present two exclusive tunes from the UK powerhouse. Now three fantastic albums deep via Steppas Records, Dub Dynasty is composed of Alpha Steppa and Alpha & Omega (Alpha Steppa's father and aunt). Two generations of UK dub combine for a sound with roots in orthodox 80s UK sound system, pushed into new post-dubstep territory.

For their debut ZamZam the trio unearthed two early sessions, recorded and mixed during the formative months of the Dub Dynasty project. Dub Cure combines the bucolic ambience of Christine Omega's chickens (!!) with majestic horns and an absolutely storming steppers kit. Always insightful, clever, and serious-as-your-life, Macka B delivers a lyric tailor-made for these treacherous times, a deeply insightful essay on the many ways fear is deployed as a Babylonian weapon to keep us passive, obedient, distracted, confused, and compliant. From Brexit to Trump, the message is both universal and very local.

Relicking a classic Horace Andy tune (we'll let you figure out which), a twinkling melody leads the way alongside militant snares and a darkly addictive bassline for a riddim grounded firmly in the 90s UK dub tradition. "Fear Dub" cracks open vaults of dubspace with Macka B's voice delaying into pure signal, and the bass heaving from reverbed depths. Percussion multiplies through the stereo field while skanks, synth, and tones cut through the darkness like thermal images in a dark night.

Adam Prescott has releases on labels including his own Reggae Roast, Liondub, Grand Ancestor and Trigram. Macka B is a veteran with no less than 100 releases on many of the greatest reggae labels of all time, including Black Scorpio, XTerminator, Fashion, Penthouse, and an especially long and amazing run of releases on Mad Professor's Ariwa label.

We are well-pleased to present the return of Tayo, veteran UK producer and selector absent from releasing music for a few years, now 'coming in strong, strong...' as the champion Earl 16 sings on a sweet paean to roots music itself.Flanged guitar skanks, a classic Cry Tuff horns chop, and melodica sweet-like-honey set the tone and vibe, before the full riddim drops all at once - a deeply melodic bassline, binghi drum, and a pounding kick, forging a steppers guaranteed to move dancers and get the most out of any system big or small.Tayo started the Cool & Deadly club night at Fabric in the earliest days of what would be known as dubstep, booking Skream, Mala, Youngster, Iration Steppas and his good friend Rob Smith. Tayo's own catalog stretches back to 2000 when he was crucial in the development of dubwise garage/breaks. His works include a seminal Fabriclive mix, and classic tunes alongside sparring partner Acid Rockers such as "Wicked Dub," 'Bloodline,' and later 'Vampayaa" on Scrub A Dub back in 2010.Originally written in a lighthouse in New Zealand, the riddim became a collaboration with Acid Rockers that we've been playing on dubplate for some time. Linking in the studio with old touring partner Earl 16 produced the lyric, completing a wicked return to form. Earl 16 should need no introduction, going hard as a roots singer since his debut album in 1981 for Mikey Dread. Love and Broad Highway first surfaced in the early 1980s and has never been re-pressed since. Comes with two cuts of Mike Brooks 'Long Long Time on the flip side.Long Long Time was released in the UK on Hitrun and again has never been re-pressed until now. Recorded in Jamaica and released in the UK without Mikey's knowledge. All remastered direct from master tape. Mikey is backed by the Roots Radics band, in their prime at the time of recording. It's no exaggeration to say that J:Kenzo is one of the leading lights of underground bass music today. As a producer for labels as diverse, venerable, and crucial as Tempa, Metalheadz, and Exit Records he makes much of the music defining the moment from drum & bass to steppers. He also shapes our listening and dancing through the careful curation of his own Artikal Music UK and Lion Charge imprints, to say nothing of his monthly Rinse FM show and non-stop global touring. Needless to say we were extremely pleased when he approached us with two tunes tailor-made for ZamZam.Without" is a 140 workout, at once minimalist, muscular, meditative and sinister. A deep skanking pad and synthetic percussion set the stage for the leaden kick and steady hi hat pulse calling all dancers. Rockers' drum fill and test tone sprinkle dubwise flavor as the haunting melodics waft through, as hypnotic as smoke trails in a cloudy studio. Without' is perfectly crafted in every respect.

The flip side Within' is another expertly honed journey into deep 140 waters, heavy on the atmospherics that recall wide open vistas and treacherous seas. Synth and bass work as one, surfacing and diving to both anchor and propel a massive riddim both heady and totally physical. The hi hat is again steady with punctuating snares & claps, huge chasms of space open up leaving the listener stunned at the depths within.

We are extremely happy to forward the first vinyl release from Cheyne Taylor Bush AKA Tetrad, a member of LA's B-Side collective. From the moment we heard these tunes we knew we wanted to get behind them, and behind Tetrad. It is extremely rare for us to hear music from a young, as-yet unsigned producer that immediately strikes us as this fresh, original, mature, and self-aware.

Awaken Dub' is a 140 power stepper driven by a shimmering melodica figure, delicate guitar plucks, insistent photon torpedo snares and pure 4/4 bass and kick forward motion. Die Nürnberger HipHop Crew nimmt den Zuhörer auf ihrem Album mit auf eine Reise
durch verschiedene Facetten ihrer Musik, die aber immer die eindeutige Handschrift des
Producers trägt. Vermittelt wird eine düstere bis apokalyptische Stimmung, der es aber
nicht an Galgenhumor mangelt, wenn beispielsweise 'Darwins Rache' verkündet wird.
Bevor die Tiere allerdings die Herrschaft über den geschundenen Planeten Erde wieder an
sich reißen, verbreiten die Zauberer ihre Prophezeiung des Untergangs auf unterhaltsame
und mitreißende Weise.
Live verwandeln sich fünf bühnenerfahrene MCs (Big Roo, Jeph Smart, Professor Ha,
Bobsen und Molemann) vor den Augen der Zuschauer in die Hohepriester düsterer
Raprituale. Vervollständigt wird der Hexerzirkel von DJ Just, der als Turntablist schon auf
der ITF (International Turntable Federation) überzeugen konnte.
Während der Sessions zur Aufnahme des Albums entwickelten die Magier neben ihrem
unverwechselbaren Soundbild auch einen einzigartigen Slang, der den Zuhörer dazu
herausfordert, selbst herauszufinden, was es mit ihrer Zahlenmystik auf sich hat.

Formation' is a masterful 130 bpm stormer built from beautifully dubbed congas, deep subs, a propulsive and distorted 4/4 kick, and paranoid descending piano figure intertwining with a miasmic lead. Brimming with deliciously filtered and panned synths, insistent pads build tension to a drop into pure soundboy-killing freefall. The second half cuts the kick to half-time to open up more swaggering dub space, fleshing out a truly massive tune. This one straight to a soundbwoy chest!'

Horizon' is a hypnotic 140 bpm meditation driven again by conga, ricocheting percussion, and a steppers bassline, with gorgeous pads and keys rising from the ether like a dawn sun through evaporating mists. Yes Jah' is the refrain, centering the tune firmly in the spiritual realm, aligning body and mind with the unseen. For late night and early morning sound system sessions, honoring creation and creation's source through bassweight and rhythm.
