The second release from Sufferah’s Choice is a one-riddim collaboration 12” EP between Dubkasm and Ashanti Selah, the son of the great Aba Shanti-I, and a huge talent in his own right. It opens with a rare guest vocal by the legendary Keety Roots. A conscious mystic who is renowned for 90s gems like his legendary vocal ‘African Blood’, and for his heavyweight productions on his own Black Legacy label.

Seekersinternational sends dub into another dimension, a place where the laws of physics appear irrelevant. Formerly solid structures are made improbable and surreal; songs become dizzying, recursive mazes. But for all this weirdness, the Canadian producer has generally hung onto dub's loved-up feel.

Stix Records, a sub-label of Favorite Recordings, is back with some heavy dub cuts from label regular Mato.

Starting his reggae production career in 2006, Thomas Blanchot aka Mato has released music through various projects on EDR Records, Big Singles or Makasound... In the meantime he developed a real trademark: taking over classics French, Hip-Hop, or Pop song, into roots reggae-dub new versions. Besides since 2010, Mato has built a solid reputation thanks to his hot remixes of Hip-Hop classics on Stix Records.

Today, Mato is back with another target for his special skills as a tailor of reggae music, this time focusing on classic musical themes from R. Strauss’ "Also Sprach Zarathustra" and Herbie Hancock’s "Maiden Voyage ". It’s a great sensation to hear these melodies turned into superbly crafted Dub monsters. As Mato once said, "Play it loud and burn a chalice!"

It's the third chapter in our 'Moonshine Recordings meets...' series where we focus on various talented vocalists from the UK sound system scene. In this session we have met the inimitable Rider Shafique straight out of Bristol. Riddims and versions built by the Moonshine family members - Baodub, Bukkha, Dubbing Sun, Inner Echo and our fresh signing Joyful Lion. Vocals mixed by Sam Binga and the whole project was mastered from stems by Studio As One.

Leading on from the much-lauded ‘Secret Location’ mini-album with Seekersinternational, one-offs such as ‘Open Palms dub’ (Dub Stuy) and other teasings, ‘Acid Dub Studies’ is the fully-fledged result of the merging of the calligraphic expression of the 303 Acid bassline with the stern sway of Dub Reggae and the hazier edges of Dub Techno and Ambient music.

Under his artist name LONE ARK, world-renowned musician, producer and sound engineer Roberto Sánchez has teamed up with one of Europe's finest reggae studio bands, THE 18TH PARALLEL, to record "GET YOU", a new anthem for reggae and dub sound systems: a modern roots reggae production reminiscent of the best years of the Twinkle Brothers, Jah Shaka or Sly & Robbie. On a riddim at the same time heavy and irresistibly dancing, Lone Ark and The 18th Parallel push their listeners to the critical reflection on their way of life and their current consumer habits. A strong message, on a powerful music for a track that cannot be ignored!

Probably one of the most sought-after Jamaican roots reggae tracks by record collectors, ‘MERCY GONE’ is both an obscure and iconic sound system tune. Originally performed by the equally obscure 1NY and Soul Syndicate, 'Mercy Gone' captures the essence of 70s roots reggae: a slow tempo with a bouncing uptempo skank, inventive drumming and a compelling bass line, a raw but powerful sound, and a plaintive voice whose emotion reflects the harsh reality of the sufferer’s life. The 18th Parallel wanted to offer their own version of this classic, an original record that is now unavailable and estimated to be worth thousands of dollars.

A version of Spear’ s sacred classic “Door Peeper”; Brooks’ sax coming in around the halfway mark. The original song, with its distinctive spoken introduction, was arranged by guitarist Ernest Ranglin; the trumpet was played by David Madden.

Carefully restored and remastered, Riddim Poetry is an off-beat journey composed of 7 masterpieces influenced by several styles (Pop, Library, Raï, Disco) which characterized the strength and diversity of the French culture in the 80's.

Jah Lloyd, aka Jah Lion was a Jamaican reggae singer, who released his third album Colombia Colly in 1976. “Wisdom” from the album was featured in the soundtrack to the film Countryman, and “Soldier and Police War” (a deejay version of Junior Murvin’s “Police & Thieves”) topped the reggae chart. The album is produced by Lee Perry. It’s a great album with some great chattin’ and toastin’ overtop some of the genre’s most iconic tracks.

The danish producer Dub Across Borders is known for boundbreaking dubwise electronics and already spreaded his dubs on labels like 45Seven and Polen Records. We're very happy to welcome our longtime friend to the label with his first four track EP titled Spirit Dimension.
