The Bombay Royale - Wild Stallion Mountain

Get ready for white light on white wax, baby. Spinning your way at 45 rpm, The Bombay Royale's latest piece of retro-Bollywood-freakadelic-disco is not powered so much by the forces of nature, as it is by forces beyond nature. You may say "Eurovision on acid in Mumbai," but we say "Wild Stallion Mountain." On the flip side is Khubsoorat Bewafa, a dark, pulsing, late night tale of treacherous hearts. Kalyanji and Anandji meets Blondie at the Heartbreak Hotel. A side and B side, light and dark, are balanced to create a harmonious whole.

On the subject of Wild Stallion Mountain, Bengali Mystic Sri Shanti Bhattacharya says the following: When a heart yearns for something it cannot name, there are many ways to God, many vehicles by which the seeker may travel: a light beam, a cosmic chariot, a whispered mantra in a quiet mind, a DRTC bus. In an elevated state of consciousness you find yourself in a wilderness of towering peaks, emerald forests, flowing streams and sparkling mirror balls, where the wind caresses your hair. Free from the wheel of suffering, you are lost and you are found. Gazing into the pool, the euphoria rising in your chest, the heart of the wild stallion beats strong within you. The touch of polyester excites you. You know that there is more, that you can go deeper. Be ready to answer the knock of adventure. Be ready to ride. Climb that mountain. There is no way down.

There is an exciting resurgence of conscious, organic music in Jamaica and industry experts
and observers agree that Protoje is playing an important role in what is becoming known as
the 'Reggae Revival.'
Leading the militant band - The Indiggnation - this powerful songwriter and philosophical
thinker articulates the righteous anger of an emerging generation. Protoje reports for duty,
re-establishing the standard for the decaying art of socially responsible, mentally stimulating
lyricism. After successfully releasing 2 albums, 'The Seven Year Itch' and 'The 8 Year Affair',
which spawned 'Rasta Love' ft. Ky- Mani Marley and 'Kingston Be Wise'; which was featured
in the video game Grand Theft Auto; Protoje released his 3rd Studio Album titled 'Ancient
Future'. The album reached number 1 on the iTunes Reggae Chart in it's frst week, and has
received great acclaim by many publications thus far, including Mass Appeal's Top 25 Best
Albums of 2015 and United Reggae's 10 Best Reggae Albums of 2015.
Protoje's visibility has steadily increased with articles being written in major publications ahead
of and after his album release, and a major achievement was being named on BBC 1xtra's
Hot for 2015 artists list so he will be promoted across the BBC platform. Artists were selected
because, as Mista Jams of BBC stated, 'they're producing the quality music needed to
become big in the next 12 months. It's a real cross section of really exciting new talent all
currently on their A game.'
Protoje has been gaining momentum throughout the world, performing at quality venues to
large audiences and will continue to tour consistently with his band The Indiggnation to
promote 'Ancient Future' especially in Europe where several tours have already been booked
as they continue to spread the music to the world.

Heights + Worship - Teach Dem

Brian McNasby aka Heights, and Rob Paine aka Worship, are bringing their track, Teach Dem Dub, back home to Worship Recordings. The Dub version of the track was originally released on the Portland based label ZamZam Sounds on 45 vinyl, and it immediately sold out. Teach Dem Dub will be released both digitally and on vinyl by Worship, and packaged with three new interpretations of the single. Since its release back in January 2014, the single gained a plethora of notoriety and was reviewed on mixmag in the month of March. Mixmag scored the track a 9 out of 10 and commended Heights + Worship on constructing a piece of deepness that hasn't been heard in ages.
First up on the remix package is Teach Dem (Extended Disco Mix). Heights and Worship take their dub masterpiece and formulate an extended 4/4 riddim for the club. The disco mix holds the vibe & elements of Teach Dem (Dub), but arms the original components with an unleaded, rolling groove. This groove will certainly keep any deep techno & dub enthusiasts on the dance floor well into the morning hours.
Supplying an unadulterated expertise of dub is Brooklyn based legend Liondub. On the remix Liondub teams up with Brooklyn producer, Ticklah, who over the past decade has been a crucial component to the NYC music scene. Liondub and Ticklah's peace inspiring remix brings the tempo back down to the track's original pace. The remix begins off slowly as it sways back and forth with attitude, but quickly the mood changes. As the bass collapses, a mélange of melody delicately unravels as you drift into a higher realm of the dub.

Closing out the package is the original down tempo mix, Teach Dem (Dub). Teach Dem (Dub) begins with a tribal flute that soars across the motherland, awakening the children of the sun to begin their education in Dub. This awakening is sparked by a cyclone of spinning symbols and high hats that introduce a thunder heavy kick drum. The bass line in the track dances poetically as a reverbed vocal sample kicks knowledge for the youth. The knowledge spoken in the track is complemented appropriately with a cool melodica in a Augustus Pablo style performed by Paine, that creates a sweaty condensation as the track slowly burns.
Heights + Worship consist of Ras Heights of Ital Sound System, and Rob Paine of Worship Recordings and Solomonic Sound System fame. Both have deep roots in reggae and electronic music, with decades of combined prowess in production, selecting, engineering & event production. Rob Paine came to worldwide prominence after founding Worship Recordings, quickly becoming one of the leading lights of dub house and dub techno, both as a producer and label boss. Deep Space, Fabric, and key events from Mexico to London to Jamaica and long-running residencies in Philly and DC have cemented his rep as a true visionary and innovator, pushing the sounds of reggae, house, and techno together from day one.

Dj Vadim & Sena - Grow Slow

There was once a young African princess who embarked on a huge journey in pursuit of herdreams. She arrived at a mystical island covered in clouds where she met a cunning wizard... Sounds like the beginning of some Disney fantasy but the truth is not so different. The Princess is Sena who came from Accra, Ghana to a festival in the centre of Budapest, Hungary and met a musical wizard by the name of DJ Vadim... that was in 2005. What happened that night was the meeting not only of like minded souls, but the beginning of a future journey into sound and space. First came recordings for Vadim for the Soundcatcher album Talk To Me (2007 BBE) which was much lauded by Gilles Peterson at the time... Which led to a long process of creating an album. Much happened in between. Each had many of their own adventures. Grammy Award shows, sell out arena shows for Sena's band in Hungary - Irie Mafia - plus the birth of her beautiful daughter Kekeli and the release of her second solo album Lots Of Trees on French Soulbeats Records, world wide shenanagins for DJ Vadim with his groups, One Self, The Electric and many solo projects...

Guess What - Al Khawarizmi

Cosmo-Psychedelico-Mystery duo Guess What return with their 3rd album! After Yuri Gagarin and the imaginary Giallo films, it's now about Al-Khawarizmi, an astronomer from the 8th Century who invented Algebra and studied the Solar system.
The London/France-based duet explored Middle-Eastern harmonies and rhythms, staying true to their love for 60's and 70's grooves, yet introducing a new, more modern touch with a parcimonious use of drum sequences, samples and various synthesizers.
From the heavy belly-dancy beats of the title track "Al-Khawarizmi" to the fragile sounds of the trumpet-melodica lead in "Sun and Moon", Guess What are drawing the musical portrait of a man who lived a distant and fascinating era. Not only did they take inspiration from strict Arabic Folk and Pop, but also from Persian, Indo-Pakistani, North-African heritages, which somehow all link to the history and culture that result from Al-Khawarizmi's time.
As well as being broadly played by DJ's across Europe (Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium), Guess What have an active live career, they have performed in almost every European country their explosive set wearing masks and turbans...

Mundo Meu is Flavia Coelho's new recording that sees her going back to her roots plunging into an
urban jungle with coloured natve slang. Unfolding her inner world like an immense, multcoloured
urban map, her fow resonates to an urban Baile Funk; Repente becomes Afrobeat; Forró and Samba
fnd a new life fuelled with Hip-Hop; African roots join Kanak chants; Bolero joins Ragga while East
European music becomes tropical via Jamaica. On the stand-out opener, 'Por Cima', we hear of a wom-
an who sacrifces all for her man in a Brazilian Bolero inspired by the traditonal songs that her father
listened to.
Elswhere Flavia sings of both the beauty and the dangers of Brazil; she pays tribute the street artsts
and workers of the favelas and of the solidarity between expats. With a stellar cast of guests that
include German superstar Patrice, cult rapper Speech (Arrested Development), accordionist Fixi of Java

Misty Basement - World Wide Web

Hailing from Goes a small town in Zeeland, The Netherlands 'Misty Basement' has been putting their mark on the Dutch reggae scene for over 20 years. After releasing their debut album back in 2005 things went relatively quiet. The spring of 2015 sees them emerging once again presenting their sophomore album which could possibly be their strongest output so far.

'World Wide Web' features 6 original compositions by frontman and leadsinger Jan Vos as well as 4 dub remixes by upcoming dub/reggae producer and recording engineer 'Mystic Pulse'. Known throughout The Netherlands for their impressive live performances songs like 'Let's Get It On' and 'Party' make perfect sense although they're not afraid to address social matters as well with 'Freemang Vibe' and 'Behold'. It's reggae music with a distinctive sound, not like anything you've heard before.

Charlie P is a raggamuffin rudeboy youth with a natural talent for music. He first appeared on stage at the age of 5 and there are some grainy youtube videos of him performing as a child. He started out singing motown and blues but reggae was in his blood since he grew up surrounded by UKJamaican culture. He started singing with the Goldmaster Allstars at the age of 11, but was soon drawn to soundsystems which is where he feels most at home. His uncle had been running a sound in Southend on Sea and it was his mother who encouraged him in his career. Charlie first came to Glasgow in 2010 for one of Mungo's Hi Fi's legendary nights at the Artschool. This was the beginning of their working relationship which has seen countless recording sessions and continuous touring around every corner of the globe. This album is the culmination of this ongoing relationship and brings together the best tracks across the styles that he loves, from roots reggae and dancehall to modern bass music. Some are surprised to see a young white guy with a Jamaican accent, but it is his musical language and Charlie is not pretending to be anything but himself - a man with a passion for good ganja and reggae dancehall.

Naram and the Jahtari posse have formed an unlikely alliance with a mysterious gentleman named Colonel Mustard to launch a new label focusing on contemporary music that's directly inspired by ruffneck 1980s and early 90s dancehall. Operating out of the harsh desert landscapes of Coburgistan, the Colonel is a hard taskmaster, and he's put Naram and disrupt to work to cook up a trailer load of killer relicks and deadly original riddims. With the Colonel's impressive sphere of global influence, the riddims are finding their way to some of the wickedest artists from dancehall's golden era - as well as brand new talents he's unearthed to carry on the style and fashion. Watch the ride and don't test, because the Colonel is stockpiling serious ammunition! The first artist to grace the new Colonel Mustard imprint is the man Guinness Book of Records found to be the world's fastest chatter back in 1989 - the incomparable Daddy Freddy. Riding a deadly Naram relick of the Bad Boy Wadat riddim, Long Way finds Freddy marching through an apocalyptic world filled with wickedness and corruption to deliver a frighteningly ruff sermon of righteous indignation against the evil-doers. Disrupt joins Naram on the version to launch a further warhead against the Babylonians with a menacing dubwise cut. All Colonel Mustard's 7"s have been fine-tuned to test any soundsystem's bass bins - and they're strictly limited pressing, so get in quick or face the wrath of the Colonel!
