Brand New 2017 Edition - finally available again on this CD and alternatively on 2LP Vinyl for the First time (moll16lp). The legendary movie soundstrack based out of Kingston, Jamaica in April 2008, telling the story of the original vocalists and musicians involved. The sixteenth release on the Moll-Selekta label shares its title with a wonderful film, a heartwarming homage to the golden age of rocksteady. It documents the recordings being made for this very album at the Tuff Gong studios, Kingston, Jamaica in April 2008, telling the story of the original vocalists and musicians involved. Excerpts from an all star reunion concert staged in Kingston and older archive material complete the picture. Never before in the history of Jamaica, which already occupies a unique place on the world map of song, its sound embraced by western popular music, has such an illustrious collection of singers and players been assembled. The album showcases 15 rocksteady classics in sparkling, deeply inspired new versions, recorded in the studio which also played host to album sessions of a certain Bob Marley. Under the musical direction of Ernest Ranglin, a guitarist of considerable renown not only on the reggae circuit, but also on the jazz scene, mixed by legendary engineer Errol Brown - in Duke Reid's employ at the Treasure Isle studio in the sixties - and freshly arranged by Lynn Taitt.

The ultimate edition of the Roots Reggae masterpiece release 1977-2017! The album classic was originally issued in 1977 in Jamaica only and 20 years later in 1997 released by the Blood & Fire label as the outstanding but now deleted "Heart Of The Congos". VP Records' sub-label 17 North Parade has released now the definitive 2017 re-mastered 3LP deluxe edition put together with both respect and gratitude to that illustrious antecedent (also available as 3CD-set incl. the ultrarare original LP mix). This new 3LP-Vinyl-set is based on the more well-known mix and master from the Blood & Fire re-release, plus dubs, disco mixes, seven and twelve inch versions and has with "Don't Blame It On I" an overlooked previously unreleased track unearthed. The 3LP-Vinyl was state-of the-art re-mastered again by Kevin Metcalfe and comes in a 6mm spine jacket sleeve with full colour printed illustrated inner sleeves and the liner notes by Noel Hawks. It is from this base that he started his recording studio where he not only put out the first ever Dub album 'Aquarius Dub' but was also responsible for naming future artist Horace Swaby.
By allowing him to use his exotic fictitious working name 'Augustus Pablo' for his own recording career.
Although called 'Aquarius Dub' the tacks that make up this album were cut at Dynamic Sounds, Harry J's and Randy's Studio 17.
It was not long after this release that Herman opened the first ever twenty four track studio Aquarius Studios.
We have compiled this set of Dub tracks that were worked on at Aquarius studio's itself.
Using the legendary studio for some of the recordings and/or it's mixing and voicing facilites.

Taken under Studio One founder Clement 'Sir Coxsone' Dodd's wing at a very young age, Cornell cut his first recordings in 1956, long before ska was even established. He remained based at Studio One for many years (working as a label printer as well as a recording artist), and also voiced sides for King Edwards in the ska years. He then briefly joined the Sensations in rock steady and recorded at Treasure Isle, before moving back to Studio One as leader of the Eternals when reggae arrived, cutting huge hits there such as 'Stars' and 'Queen Of The Mistrel,' and giving early coaching to Slim Smith, Jacob Miller and bassist Robbie Shakespeare. Joining forces with ace producer Bunny 'Striker' Lee in the mid-1970s brought a dramatic new surge in popularity that greatly boosted his profile overseas. The Ropin' LP was issued on Third World's Justice subsidiary in 1980—a sub label set up to handle Striker's product in the UK (though hits like 'Mash You Down' and the title track had been handled in Jamaica by Joe Gibbs). One of the album's outstanding moments is 'Bandulu,' an anti-rude boy epic voiced on the 'Late Night Blues' rhythm, while opening cover, 'Just My Imagination,' has an uncredited toasting portion from Errol Scorcher.

Homeys Records new release, Something new', features the first collaboration between Marina P and the upcoming french producer KSD. Once the original track was completed, the vocals were given to three other producers close to the italian singer for remixing. Stand High Patrol's version offers a jazzy take on the track with unexpected footwork influences. TWM, for his very first release, presents a steppers version made for the soundsystem. Homeys brings a roots reggae touch with a flute part that leads the theme. These producers' three different remixes perfectly represent the musical universe of Marina P.

Now on their twenty ninth release of forward thinking UK Reggae & Dancehall, Reggae Roast continue with hit after hit.Their latest offering is a futuristic dancehall smasher of a beat, produced by one of their very own crew members Leo Samson, with Shumba Youth's soft vocal cries compli- menting the hard dancehall backing track beautifully. The track with its low sub fre- quencies and deadly lyrics is sure to set dance floors alight this ummer.This is the first single of their deadly 6 Track EP also coming soon to Reggae Roast Records entitled 'Hot Like Lava' and is due out later this year.Leo Samson has been putting in the work as one of the key Reggae Roast residents for the past 5 years. All the while he has been releasing remixes for the likes of Nice Up! Records one of the UKs best dancehall labels and Boom Sound Recordings. This is his first official release on the Reggae Roast label. The first of many!Shumba Youth is fast becoming a household name in the UK Reggae scene and one of the key artists in the new wave of talent coming out of the capitol. Reggae Roast have been instrumental in bringing exciting new talent through their ranks and Shumba along with artists such as Natty Campbell and now stepping up to fulfil their potential and are certain be the next generation of talent in the UK scene for years to come.Newcomer Sour Phree takes over remix duties for this and he creates a powerful dancehall smasher giving a new lease of life the the original. Always experimenting Voodoohop is in constant flux.
