Hypocrisy Is the Greatest Luxury is the debut album by the industrial hip hop formation The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. Years after its release it was recognized as one of most underrated albums from 1992. Michael Franti created a piece where capitalism, consumerism and political changes weren't avoided. The issues he raps about are focused on the changing world and the way people interacts with each other. The emotional power and anger are part of the musical changes. Viktor Lux Crux is a key figure in Barcelona's vibrant post-industrial scene as a musician, producer and co-founder of the label Màgia Roja. He has performed more than 300 shows, almost 200 of them touring abroad in Europe and the US as Futuro de Hierro and with past bands Ordre Etern and Qa'a. Collaborator of Jochen Arbeit (Einstürzende Neubauten), Nurse With Wound, Paddy Shine and Chris Haslam (Gnod), and others. Among many other places he has performed in 4 editions of Sonar Festival, Incubate Festival, Klangbad Festival, 2 editions of Primavera Sound and Periferias Festival. As Comisarios de la Luz DJ he has performed more than 200 sessions in the last three years.

With Futuro de Hierro he mixes the legacy of Esplendor Geometrico and Throbbing Gristle with the heavyness of Swans or early Laibach and transcends the nihilism of the genere creating a cosmogony of songs where the personal, the esoteric, the present and the future intertwine. His live shows are a visceral and energetic deal, a hands-on approach to electronic music with an unseen control of rythmic feedback, dynamics and noise.

'Fist & Shout' is the debut release from Glasgow band Leatherette - currently now known as Total Leatherette - and the first to be released on Domestic Exile.

Recorded at the now infamous Green Door Studios, the album is a raw, visceral interpretation of instrumental post-punk, no wave, drone and industrial, complete with a fully immersive and foreboding gothic atmosphere.

Traces of minimal electronics and manipulated effects / vocals are present throughout, engulfing ones entire body with a sudden cold adrenaline rush - teeth rattling, muscles contracting, nails nervously scratching at walls, shivering - a combination of detached, minimalist drum machines, rhythmic noise and dense processed mutations mechanically dislocating as if oil is needed to stop the rust from corroding the engine. During live performances the duo are shrouded in darkness, venues left pitch black with nothing but strobe lights to disturb ones eye sight. The intense and thought provoking suspense that is experienced at a Leatherette show uniquely translates to the duos recorded material.

Musically, influences can be traced back to radical counter-culture movements and their pioneers, most notably D.A.F., Malaria and Geile Teire during Berlins NDW period through to the 'Ambulance Station' nexus - Bourbonese Qualk and Zahgurim in London or Ike Yard, Nitzer Ebb and R.L. Crutchfield's Dark Day during New York's No Wave period to Minimal Man, however it is important to note that while comparisons can be drawn the music of Leatherette is never derivative or emulating in its approach.

Autumns is the solo project of Christian Donaghey, from Derry, Northern Ireland. On Suffocating Brothers Autumns presents a resolute nine track culmination of the fierce audacity that has come to define and distinguish the project since an assured first emergence in 2013. Written and produced over the course of six months, between July and December 2016, it's an album that comes as a momentous and devastating fulfilment of what the Autumns project has outlined with increasingly ruthless intent over the last few years. Although the scuffed DIY garage and submerged shoegaze of the projects first major release - 2014's Terrible Tuesday Mini LP - signalled different inclinations to subsequent explorations, the seeds of a severe, tenacious and exhilarating signature were always present and correct. With Das Nichts and A Product of 30 Years of Violence - a quick-fire brace of EPs that arrived either side of 2016 - that signature became refined by an expansive murk and a robust (dys)functionalism. Prior familiarities were overhauled, the lo-fi disarray of before given a purposeful sense of authoritative intensity rooted in the rabid, seditious transmissions of noise music, the slam and discord of industrial and the insistent velocity of techno. These were the first seething indications that, buried beneath the smothered vocal urgency and deluges of distortion, was a synthetic surge and turbulence only rarely found in electronic music's more nefarious territories. Suffocating Brothers elaborates on all this with an eye for annihilation. Vocals reiterate like echo chamber death sentences, drum machines rattle and blister, clear-cut and sharp like broken glass, assaultive grinds of static and blasts of feedback suffuse it all like a ruptured maelstrom of FM interference. Yet with this harsh sense of ferocity and obliteration comes a reciprocal compulsion for action and release. 'I Never Noticed That You Left', 'No More Luxury' and 'Faceless' all tear into frantic, serrated analogue rhythms surrounded by an anarchic chaos of corrupted noise, enshrouded voice and blistering percussion. At times, these moments resemble the corrosive acid of Phuture and Sleezy D if their more riotous trax were mired in the irrepressible machine abuse of Whitehouse and SPK. 'Female Model', 'Forgotten Hangings' and 'Limit Experience' on the other hand reveal the roots of Donaghey's initial inspirations, all shaped in different ways by a portentous strain of post-punk. Where 'Female Model' is sinister and stern, a jackbooted dub from the void - like a more desolate rendering of Public Image Ltd's 'Fodderstompf' - 'Forgotten Hangings' is Cabaret Voltaire's 'Photophobia' reinvigorated by a new voice and a cataclysmic vision, formed of metallic sirens, plundered voices and hails of climactic hiss. 'Limit Experience' is a more fixed agitation but no less caustic, a monochromatic psychedelia for the streets and back alleys you tend to avoid. Elsewhere and throughout, piercing, cavernous gusts of drone augment the disorder establishing an atmosphere which is at once stark and overwhelming. The overall effect is equivalent to an unrestrained assailment, a constant confrontation, a total siege. As a whole Suffocating Brothers is a record unified by an extraordinary depth and physicality that encourages favourable comparisons to the incendiary ends of post-punk, noise, industrial, techno, coldwave, dub and drone. Categorisations, however, are only the half of it. Ultimately these tracks transcend the constraints of any one specific association. They're the product of an ascendant few years and together they represent the project's most essential statement to date. Yet they're also a consolidation of what Autumns has done all along. To resent compliance and compromise, to spurn limits and restraint, to hunt ecstatic release through extremity. To keep kicking against the pricks.

Mit der Veröffentlichung von Black Magnets Debütalbum "Hallucination Scene" im Jahr 2020 entstand eine neue Industrial-Metal-Kraft in der unwahrscheinlichen Umgebung von Oklahoma City. Nachdem sie die Pandemie abgewartet hatten, kehrten Black Magnet Ende 2021 auf die Bühne zurück und veröffentlichen nun mit "Body Prophecy" ihr zweites Album voller maschinengetriebenem Chaos und elektronischer Abartigkeit.

Auf "Body Prophecy" verschweißt Mastermind James Hammontree die frenetische Vitalität von Post-Punk und Energie des Metals mit treibenden synthetischen Club-Beats, maschineller Gewalttätigkeit und verführerisch starken melodischen Impulsen. Tracks wie "Floating in Nothing" und "Violent Mechanix" bieten sowohl intensiv eingängige Hooks als auch hämmernden, brutalen Lärm. "Sold Me Sad" ist ein leises, gestörtes Wiegenlied mit atmosphärischer Wendung. Mit der Veröffentlichung von Black Magnets Debütalbum "Hallucination Scene" im Jahr 2020 entstand eine neue Industrial-Metal-Kraft in der unwahrscheinlichen Umgebung von Oklahoma City. Nachdem sie die Pandemie abgewartet hatten, kehrten Black Magnet Ende 2021 auf die Bühne zurück und veröffentlichen nun mit "Body Prophecy" ihr zweites Album voller maschinengetriebenem Chaos und elektronischer Abartigkeit.

Auf "Body Prophecy" verschweißt Mastermind James Hammontree die frenetische Vitalität von Post-Punk und Energie des Metals mit treibenden synthetischen Club-Beats, maschineller Gewalttätigkeit und verführerisch starken melodischen Impulsen. Tracks wie "Floating in Nothing" und "Violent Mechanix" bieten sowohl intensiv eingängige Hooks als auch hämmernden, brutalen Lärm. "Sold Me Sad" ist ein leises, gestörtes Wiegenlied mit atmosphärischer Wendung. Das pulsierende, drogengeschwängerte "Incubate" im Manson/Reznor-Stil wird am Ende des Albums von Szene-Legende Justin K. Broadrick (Godflesh, Zonal, etc.) in einem komplett neu interpretierten und erweiterten Club-Remix präsentiert.

Trotz der rauen, kratzender Atmosphäre und der stampfenden Aggression bleibt "Body Prophecy" ein äußerst dichtes, einprägsames Album, das auf die Bühne gehört und dafür sorgt, dass Körper in Bewegung und die Hörer gebannt bleiben.

Crepuscule presents a brand new collaborative project by Julie Campbell (aka LoneLady), Stephen Mallinder (Wrangler, Cabaret Voltaire) and Benge (Wrangler, John Foxx). Titled Clinker, the first 800 copies of the 6 track mini album have been pressed in turquoise vinyl.

‘The project began a couple of years ago,’ explains Julie. ‘Benge had these great sketches that were beats and synth patterns, so those were the starting point. I really went to town adding lots of guitar layers and experimenting with different sounds. On some tracks the guitar is deft and rhythmic, as if mimicking sequencer patterns. On others it’s a deconstructed noise-based approach - scratching strings, making fitful, heavy chunks, howls and scrapings of noise and texture.’

Due to competing solo commitments for all 3 members the tracks disappeared into hard drive exile for a couple of years. Julie continues: ‘Last year we revisited the mixes and Stephen added his trademark mysterious and menacing vocals. Now we find ourselves with a finished piece of work. I thought of the name Clinker as I love its meaning: 'stony residue from burnt coal'. This seemed liked an apt description of both industrial and creative processes, and a nice nod to the industrial North of England.’

Stand-out tracks include Camouflage and Condition Collapsing. ‘I’d forgotten how liberating it is to play bass guitar on something,’ enthuses Mal. ‘It compliments Julie’s beautifully angular guitar, and Benge and me ripping up live percussion onto the sound of machines… As a collection of tracks these benefited from a lengthy gestation, as they follow no particular trend and were allowed to twist and turn to develop a life of their own. After successive cycles we suddenly drew it all together so the tracks have a sense of completion and identity.’

‘The real fun for me was during the mixing process when Mal and I looked at each other as the rawness of the tracks hit us on the big studio monitors,’ adds Benge. ‘We knew we had something untameable, and wanted to preserve that feeling of edgy rawness in the mixes.’

Originally released in 1985 on Japan Records this is CHIKO HIGE’s second solo effort. Hige digs deep in the No-Wave idiom to come out with a powerful, hypnotic sound trip full of hyper-cinetic grooves, clipping guitars and twisting saxophones. A snapshot of controlled chaos that still sounds relevant today!

Cindytalk is the mercurial, expressionist outlet of Scottish artist Cinder. An evolution of her early 1980's Edinburgh-based punk band The Freeze, she launched the project upon moving to London, inspired by the crossroads of exploratory UK post-punk and early European industrial. Her work thrives on chance and transformation, collaging elements of noise, balladry, soundtrack, catharsis, and improvisation. After a series of celebrated albums for the Midnight Music label as well as collaborations with This Mortal Coil and Cocteau Twins, Cinder migrated to the United States, becoming involved with various underground techno collectives around the Midwest and West Coast. Subsequent relocations to Hong Kong and Japan further expanded Cindytalk's horizons, resulting in a fruitful partnership with Viennese experimental institution Editions Mego, for whom she released five albums of swooning, granular atmosphere. 2021 finds her as engaged as ever, at the precipice of long-awaited back catalog reissues alongside multiple new works, guided by her lasting love of discovery and deviation: “new pathways always being uncovered.”

Across decades of activity Cinder’s body of work has forever followed its own elusive muse but nowhere is this restless spirit more apparent and ambitious than the 4th Cindytalk LP, Wappinschaw. Conceived as “a call to arms” inspired by Scotland and its struggle for independence, the title refers to an archaic Scottish battle inspection during which clan chieftains surveyed their group's weapons to ensure they were combat ready. A mindset of reflective preparation threads throughout the record, manifested in forms both naked and noisy, ancient and anguished.

Opening with an aching solo vocal rendition of the British folk standard “The First Time Ever (I Saw Your Face),” the album then surges into the Cindytalk classic, “A Song Of Changes,” sparkling and spiraling in strange waves of sorrow and joy. From there the mood fragments, tracing asymmetrical paths of feverish dirge, pensive spirituals, noir abstraction, spoken word (landmark Glaswegian writer Alasdair Gray guests on “Wheesht”), bagpipe drone, and apocalyptic post-punk. Given its aggressive eclecticism, it's not surprising that Cinder describes the creation of Wappinschaw as a “precarious” process, composed from “scraps” with abruptly shifting personnel – a situation only compounded by the impending dissolution of their label at the time, Midnight Music.

Machines of Our Disgrace marked the return of Circle of Dust, the groundbreaking industrial project from Klayton, best known to many as the producer and artist behind Celldweller.

Long standing influential British experimental group Coil began performing live again in 1999 after a 15 year hiatus. These now legendary performances included many pieces that were never released on album, including this album length epic version of "The Universe Is A Haunted House", captured live 12th of October, 2002 at London's Convay Hall.

"Recoiled" is a rambunctious alchemy, of magikal Coil sensibilities and hi-tech home circa 90s mixing technique, all fused in the cave-like early studios of Danny Hyde / Peter Christopherson. These were the unrestrained PRE- BIG studio- mix downs, of four songs which long time Coil admirer / collaborator Trent Reznor requested Coil to remix. Reznor sent over the original multi-tracks and DATs to Hyde / Christopherson, who independently mixed versions and then met to synch both creations, molding them into these master versions. "Recoiled" includes a fuller, more opulent version of the track 'Closer', which eventually made it onto the opening credits to the movie "SE7EN". These 5 lengthy compositions are pre-Ableton / laptop generation type priest song creations, with the use of baby alarms and numerous wires to create bespoke effects. These legendary tracks were always rumoured to exist and, only the due diligence of a dedicated NIN forum who hunted them down, are released/unleashed for your listening pleasure. DKA presents the new 12" EP from Collin Gorman Weiland, "In My Shattered Vase." Having previously released some of our favorite music on labels like Downwards and Jealous God, Weiland's new offering features 3 originals from the Minneapolis native + 2 edits from Germany's Mick Wills and a remix by DKA co-founders Pyramid Club, this is a journey through textured murk, melancholic musings and deranged rhythmic euphoria, distorted drums clash against harsh tones to create an environment both familiar and completely alien, grounded by Collin's deep, dead pan spoken word. For the b-side, Mick Wills revisits Collin's track from our previously released Strategies Against The Body vol. II LP compilation. an amazing yet utterly un-DJ-friendly track Mick has wrestled with and wrangled into an extended late night dance floor slayer. This is followed by Pyramid Club's reinterpretation of "Ballet Of Pose" from the A-side, stripping it back to it's most percussive elements and propelling it forward with a steadily snowballing momentum.

“Dance Till You Die” a loud and clear order and warning from one of the most uncompromising Japanese Post-Punk bands of the early 80’s. A raw, esoteric yet infectiously groovy gem for all No-Wave freaks out there!

Wretched, bleak, hopeless and incredibly dark. Canadian dark hardcore crust bruisers Dark Circles and American black sludge destroyers Abstracter bring forth waves upon waves of utter misery and horror on this crushing 12" split. Dark Circles' stark, rabid and virulently embittered dark hardcore is a firestorm of crust punk, grindcore and black metal that marvelously brings together the best and most confrontational elements of bands like Catharsis, Gehenna, Cursed, The Secret, etc. On the other hand Abstracter's bleak and hallucinatory side fuses doom, crust, drone and black metal to incarnate a staggering twenty minutes of total and horrific devastation, yielding a similar sonic hell as seen in dark and miserable slower bands like Triptykon, Primitive Man, Coffinworm, Indian, etc

Fill-Lex Records is eternally pleased to present on its 10th cassette release, the first full-length from one of the Catalan artists it has been following for the longest time. His name, Dark Vektor, is well known in the Spanish electro scene, as he has been active since 2001, being one of the biggest names in the genre. In “Els Guardians dels meus pensaments”, the artist shows us his most intimate side with tracks that have emerged from within him at various stages of his career. A timeless album that seeks to delve into the diversities of the genre, from tracks with an electro closer to IDM like “Galaxias”, which will transport you to other planets, or “Home 2.0” experimenting with sounds close to synthwave or retrowave with a melody that will linger in your head from the first time you listen to it. Never leaving aside his essence with rhythmic and combative bases, giving way to marked steps in a combination of dark and melancholic sounds, with a taste that few artists can reproduce in this way, in tracks like “Aural”, “S3R0S” and “Battle of Orion II”.
