Das gewitzte Stadtkaninchen Mimmelitt erfährt, dass sich in der Stadt ein quietschendes Geheimnis aufhalten soll, ein Eisengeist. Die Neugier und trotziger Mut helfen Mimmelitt, dem Geheimnis auf die Spur zu kommen - mitten in der tiefen Nacht: Es ist ein alter geschmiedeter Wetterhahn, der kummervoll durch die Neubauten irrt. Keiner kann ihn mehr gebrauchen. Mimmelitt lädt den "Ritter Adalbert" auf seine Kaninchensuperkiste und braust mit ihm durch die Stadt. Er weiß, wo dem Ritter geholfen werden kann. Am Morgen schließlich hebt der lange Hannes den frischgestrichenen Wetterhahn auf das neue Schulhaus. Nun wird er jeden Morgen die Schulkinder begrüßen.

A legend. Electric. Transformative. The greatest of all time. There’s no superlative that
Richard Pryor hasn’t already earned, and with good reason. From the very start, his voice was
both singular, truly unmatched, and plural, containing multitudes. In a breath, he embodies a
full swath of humanity, dropping his audience into the raucousness of Hank’s Place,
becoming everyone from the streetwise handyman to the lecherous farmers, beautiful black
Irma who loved to tell people to kiss her ass to Weasel who spent all the time he wasn’t
signifying on negging potential marks. He dances between pimps Coldblood and Smooth,
dips into the persona of Tarcy the cop, and transforms into tight-lipped Jesse, the basketball
beast. In another, he paints an entire scene-within-a-scene with “Prison Play.” He’s everyone
(a not uncomfortable feature of his existence: having grown up Black in a Jewish tenement
in an Italian neighborhood, he jokes that the general attitude among the local toughs was
“Get him! He’s all of ‘em!”), everything, everywhere. Along the way, Pryor punctuates every
laugh with a jab, sharply rebuking all the social ills that seek to divide and conquer, all the
filthy, inhumane -isms that offend the senses (or rightly should). And he does it all while
assuring his audience they have nothing to fear from the Black man—except his thoughts.

“The crown prince of comedy.” That’s how Richard Pryor was introduced at The Redd Foxx
Club—and how he was known throughout the world. Was he also a righteous fool? No
doubt. Was he a king among kings? That, too. And did he sire generations to follow in his
comedic dynasty? You’re goddamned right he did. “'Craps' (After Hours)” finds Pryor at
perhaps his most carnal, deeply ruminating upon (when not absolutely enjoying) all the ways
fleshly pursuits from fighting and fornicating to drinking and drugging distract us, destroy us,
and make us utterly human. Along the way, we get classic Pryor character studies, from the
men enjoying the stage that was a Saturday night police lineup to the unfailingly polite white
clientele of the whorehouses in his childhood environs, fathers ready to defend their
daughters’ long-since departed honor, preachers enlivened by their personal relationships
with God, tricks plying their trade while lying through their teeth, and, of course, Wino &
Junkie, those staples of the streetcorner. Perhaps the most astounding thing is realizing that,
in 2023, not a moment of these records feels out of date or distant; it’s all right there, the
troubles of our times, unfolding then as they unfold now. At least then we had Richard Pryor
to guide us through.

Richard Pryor contained multitudes, each fully inhabited character funnier and more
insightful than the last, so it’s no wonder when he took the stage at The Comedy Store in
Hollywood in 1973, it’d be a full 15 minutes before he spoke to the adoring audience as
himself. No, he needed to start where he started, on the streetcorner, with all the wit,
wisdom, and general jackassery of Wino & Junkie. Throughout a set full of hard jokes and
detailed character sketches (including the men of the Saturday night police lineup in his
hometown of Preoria, Illinois—the first and riskiest stage he knew), the audience has the
chance to get caught up in the silliness so inherent to Pryor while never losing sight of the
issues America had yet to face (and hasn’t still). There are sex jokes that hit so hard the
women in the audience take an audible refractory period, drug advice that has you weighing
the relative trip-laden merits of dope and acid, and a call-and-response on sandwiches that
proves the irresistibility of zealous Black midwestern preachers; there’s a litany of celebrities
whose names and projects have blurred in Pryor’s mind, but whose faces and friendship so
clearly light him up; there’s even fighting advice (don’t fight Italians, their mothers get
involved, and try to avoid a paternal cowboy whuppin’, because no one wants to get hit with
a chair). And then you get hit with the hardest punch: Pryor reaching out from 50 years past
to make the truth plain. You never hear about civilians accidentally killing cops, so why is it
that cops are always “accidentally” killing Black men? As it turns out, 1973 and 2023 aren’t so
far apart that the legendary Richard Pryor can’t bridge the gap.

Synthesist and filmmaker Sean Hellfritsch and author-illustrator Rob Moss Wilson met in 2008 while constructing a treefort together in Santa Cruz, California. Rob was invited to intern on a property where Sean was busying his hands with permaculture and animal husbandry, but after just a brief time working together the two realized each other’s ability to cultivate forts of a more abstract nature. From that point forward, the structures they built would be made of sound, language, light, and spirit culminating in Big Lunch , a union of spoken-word poetry, ambient composition, and pen-and-ink drawings that weds Hellfritsch’s bubbly, revitalizing synth work to Wilson’s emotionally honest, casually profound poems and drawings. When taken as a purely auditory journey, Big Lunch is a succession of koan- like musings delivered in Wilson’s unpretentious tone, which is both deepened and given levity by Hellfritsch’s sonic watercoloring. Wilson’s words meet us right where we are: the dirt-spatter on our cars, the push-pull of grocery store impulses, standout joggers clad in bluejeans, and any number of modern niceties that become hilarious and humbling when simply noticed. In fact, noticing these details might be Wilson’s superpower.
Recognizing this knack throughout years of friendship, Hellfritsch and partner Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith put themselves up to the task of capturing the literary side of Big Lunch -- which was first printed as a standalone book of writings and drawings a few years back.

der politischen und gesellschaftlichen Umbrüche warnen Santiano auf dem bildgewaltigen „Da braut sich
was zusammen“ eindringlich davor, angesichts der dunklen Wolken am Horizont die Augen zu verschließen,
sondern aktiv zu werden und das Ruder noch einmal herum zu reißen, bevor es zu spät ist.
Santiano ist zurück mit ihrem siebten Studioalbum ”Da braut sich was zusammen” mit der gleichnamigen
Single als Nachfolger von acht Nummer-1-Alben.

Emmy-winning comedian, actor, writer, and producer Sarah Silverman returns with her first comedy special since 2013’s acclaimed Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles. Recorded at The Wilbur Theater in Boston, Sarah Silverman: Someone You Love features the New England native showcasing her fearless chutzpah. In 2020 Steve Von Till published his first book of poetry, Harvestman: 23 Untitled Poems and Collected Lyrics. Published by the University of South Dakota’s Astrophil Press, the book established Von Till as a formidable and thoughtful author of verse—a fact that Neurosis fans knew all along, but the wider world was only just becoming aware of.
“There is a depth of hope, acceptance and loss that permeates these poems,” Joseph Haeger said in his review for The Inlander. “Like any great piece of art, Harvestman contains multitudes, and that’s exactly what I was hoping for when I cracked it open. Von Till has already established himself as a great musician, and he’s about to put his stake into the ground proving himself to be a damn good writer.”
For 2021, Von Till has reimagined Harvestman in a new format, delivering an intimate and captivating reading of the collection with sound enhancements. “Being a constant sound-seeker, I thought it would be more interesting to have some textures and treatments to break up the intimate voice recordings,” Von Till says of his decision to add some atmosphere to the spoken-word version of Harvestman. “The background sounds used on some of the tracks were pieces related to No Wilderness Deep Enough that were either not used or repurposed to interweave further connections between my artistic output at this time of my life.”

The drums of fire scorch the age. With his young and talented Sound Limited, Takeshi Inomata heralds the arrival of the golden age of jazz rock in high spirits. Drummer Takeshi Inomata, who led the Japanese jazz scene with his precise stick work and musicality with an eye on the times, formed Sound Limited at the end of the 1960s, influenced by the brass rock music that was flourishing at the time. He said, “I wanted to fuse jazz and rock and bring together young musicians to play music with vitality. I want this group to be a group with a large scale that is not confined to the small frame of modern jazz,” he said, launching a new axis. Their first album, “The Sound of Sound Limited” (1970), became their masterpiece. It is a masterpiece that is full of energy and enthusiasm throughout the album, starting with “Theme~Mustache,” which has become one of the most beloved and iconic songs of the band.

Sun Ra is better known to most as a musician than a poet, but he identified equally as both. My Words Are Music provides direct access to the sentiments of a poet who never called Earth home. The spoken word album hosts an inspired array of artists who personally chose their favorite Sun Ra poems to recite. Freed from the page, his poetry acquires an unexpected simplicity and poignance it possessed all along.

This all-star and intergenerational lineup of artists conjure wisdom from his words: spoken word elder Abiodun Oweyole of The Last Poets; rapper, and singer-songwriter Saul Williams; jazz experimentalist Melanie Charles; British-Trinidadian poet, novelist and musician Anthony Joseph; poet Mahogany L. Browne; poet, playwright, and conceptual artist Carl Hancock Rux; musician/digital composer L’Rain; singer, actor, and director Tunde Adibempe of TV on the Radio singer; British DJ and BBC radio host Zakia Sewell; ballistic hip-hop poet Jive Poetic; and longtime members of the Sun Ra Arkestra, Marshall Allen, Knoel Scott, and Tara Middleton.

This is going to be the scariest spoken word record you’ve ever heard. We’re not joking…and neither is Vincent Price. The star of such horror classics as House of Wax, The Abominable Dr. Phibes, and Theatre of Blood (and, of course, narrator of Michael Jackson’s Thriller video) can barely hide his delight while he takes his audience through a graphic and occasionally grisly history lesson in witchcraft from the Bible through the Middle Ages, the Spanish Inquisition, and Nazi Germany. Then, accompanied by occasional eerie, abstract electronic music, Price’s sinister satisfaction only mounts as he provides instruction in the dark arts, with such tracks as “How to Make a Pact with the Devil” and “Curses, Spells, Charms.” It’s all in good fun, of course…or is it? The mysterious writer of the script, one Terry d’Oberoff, has only one other credit to his name: as the “mascot” of an early ‘70s band called…wait for it…Black Magic. This 1969 double-LP release has long been coveted by collectors of the curious and macabre, and for its first reissue in over 50 years, we are giving it the Real Gone treatment, reproducing the gatefold jacket and the full-size, 8-page booklet that accompanied some copies. It’s a combination history textbook and how-to manual in witchcraft, with a title page depicting a particularly unsettling spell called “The Hand of Glory” involving the severed, salted, and dried hand of a convicted felon. We are releasing this one-of-a-kind album on clear with orange “pumpkin” swirl vinyl…Happy Halloween.
