Lefhanded Fuqs is the second of Bjarki triptych of LP's to be released this year. Follow the stunning '' released in June this year, Lefhanded Fuqs and Æ are being released over the coming months and represent a snapshot of his archive, selected by Nina Kraviz for Trip. The tracks were produced months ago, years ago, or in the case of the last track just a couple of weeks ago. What began with 30 tracks are now 41. The three LPs aren't albums in the traditional sense - the concept being to release the contents of his burgeoning hard drives. The music might fit together like an album, but Bjarki doesn't see it that way. It's essentially an archive that sounds like an album but none of the music was made with this in mind.Lefhanded Fugs is released this September to feverish anticipation. Whilst naming one of the tracks that he made with a left hand for the LP, Bjarki was so left-handed that he completely misspelled it. But in honour of all the left-handed people making mistakes because of tools made only for right-handed people, he decided to keep it. The LP contains the more experimental material from the archive, including one the first film scores he produced several years ago for a story he wrote himself.
Bjarki is from Iceland. Born and raised. Despite the fact that Bjarki is known for making extremely powerful dance floor tracks he doesn't seem to belong to any particular genre. Something this triptych of LPs demonstrates very well. His music is at times cinematic and there's a story behind each track. Bjarki's music always has something to do with him personally, but he'd rather the listener lose themselves in the music than pay much attention to the man behind them. Either on a record or to one of his ever evolving live sets.

Marvin Jupiter is an 18 year old artist who mainly makes hip-hop music, using bass lines as rhythms more associated with funk. He uses and creates the sound of the modern day interpretation of trap adding his own personal twist.

'Reach' is a rendition of the typical "house" genre including rhythms sampled from South American cultures, using current sounds from the "trap genre" even having a small section of a "trap/hip-hop" beat towards the end of the song.

001RAIN features ‘acecloud,’ a wavy 808 based solo track by Samba and ‘cookies,’a collaboration from Samba and Argo, which starts off as a sample based lo-fi beat which switches up heavily midway.

Samba, with releases on Division, System, DDD, Encrypted and more, has had his interpretation of the 140 sound supported across the dance music world from the likes of Noisia, Mala, Om Unit, Truth, Alix Perez, Commodo and Kahn. With his new label, 26.RAIN, Sam wants to put out music that has feeling, instead of sticking to a single sound or genre.

Argo, Parisian born and bred producer and photographer, writes a combination of instantly recognisable Hip Hop and bass flavoured beats. His two most recent outings, a ‘Lo-Fi Hip Hop’ EP on ‘Yellow Flower’ and a, now sold-out, trap flavoured release on ‘Encrypted Audio’. With support from most of the ‘who’s who’ in the underground dubstep scene he is now drawing attention from a host of MC’s and rappers across Parisian Hip Hop.

Another sure-shot legit reissue from the Easy Streets vaults. Unbelievably from 1990, this forward thinking slab of dark and moody breakbeat techno courtesy of Open Mind (aka Joey Beltram) hits the spot everytime! Harking back to the glory days of euro-techno, pre-jungle, the dark-side and all in-between.... Need we say more? The eerie atmospheres, epic synth breaks and stuttering drum machine programming combines to create the super heavy sound that early Beltram is known for and 'The Trance' is one record that any serious techno or electro lover will need in their bag. Rare as hen's teeth, hard to cop and a total under the radar classic, 'The Trance' is here again, and it's not taking any prisoners!

As we said before, this monster dropped on Easy Street in '90, and has been caned by the most discerning of DJ's and diggers across the galaxy ever since. Every home should have a copy of this, no collection is complete without it. A record that will never go out of style & will always do the requisite damage on any dance-floor it's dropped on. St Theodore presents his brand-new EP – Last Dance, which is the second part of “Mortal Strike” EP was released on Land Of Dance Records (Italy). There is a slow, true immersion in cold and even sometimes frightening work. Minimalistic basslines, cold synthesizers, simplicity and accuracy of compositions cause
aesthetic delight. The classical TB-303 sound takes to memories of raves in the buildings of former factories, where you always feel very far from reality. The title track «Last Dance» catches hopeless motives and plunges into a darkness. "Decetiful Idol" sounds like a first-class banger. «Riddles Of September» envelops. Electro version of the track «In The Darkness Again», which original version released on Land Of Dance Records (Italy), sounds as danceable and hot.

Mysterious talent Clouds Of Kouros returns to their self-titled imprint to deliver the second EP on the
label this March, with three fresh cuts making up their 'Houghton Time' EP.

The enigmatic Clouds Of Kouros guise first surfaced in November of 2018, with the debut 'Reason's Why' EP picking up a slew of support from Secretsundaze through to Laurent Garnier and more.

Heavily influenced by the early UK rave scene, the project looks set to highlight key early inspirations from within the electronic sphere whilst keeping the focus solely on the music and not the artist behind the project across with each release on the imprint. The latest installment, the 'Houghton Time' EP, was written out of frustration after missing last year's edition of the festival through a last-minute transportation cancellation and in-turn returning to the studio to channel this frustration into a handful new productions. The result is an impressive fresh three tracker that takes cues from breaks through to deep house and beyond set for release on vinyl only this March.

Title cut 'Houghton Time' opens the package with authority as slick breakbeat arrangements combine with menacing basslines and infectious vocal hooks, before 'Diego's Groove' takes things deeper as dubby chords and bright melodies work in tandem. Last up, 'Hide2' completes the EP in style as the focus shifted towards punchy drum licks, resonant stabs and eerie melodies throughout.

"Percussion Sweet" continues the fresh patterns while adding edgy vocal stutters and a searing reese breakdown propelling the listener towards a perilous mix of jacking 909 hi hats and trademark bass stabs. Turbo in full swing.
"Verhoeven" switches up the techno kick patterns in favour of an 808 bounce to deliver an ambitious electro fused bubbler which as Fracture explains is 'like a scene in a future-society film when the main character enters a disorientating subterranean club with loads of weird and wonderful people coming in and out of shot' Finally "Sci-Fi Tramp" closes the EP with a sense of sleazy uneasiness viewed from behind a pair of mirrored shades. Alarming bass womps jack the listener straight into the system to hack the rave and get the hell out...

Following on from 2018's 'Tribeca Tapes Part One' release, Willie Graf & his musical partner Darren Eboli deliver another fantastic 4 tracker on Copenhagen's Music For Dreams Label.

Willie Graff splits his year between DJ residencies in New York and Ibiza (Pacha). In this second outing with studio partner Darren Eboli, the influence is, African, NY clubbing, World mixing Mediterranean and further afield. The duo finds its roots in the past, building a link between the soul of a song and the warmth of a melody then combining them with a contemporary sound.

The opener 'All Is Bliss' sits at the pinnacle of the underground - A powerful, Balearic, disco influenced club track full of Spanish guitar, handclaps, club synths sounds like it was made for Dj Harvey's 'Mercury Rising' at Pikes in Ibiza. 'Ahimsa' is an outstanding track with funky breakbeat, weird Eastern samples, sneaking acid and Kraftwerk like arpeggios.

'La Sirena' is a balearic beach styled mid tempo chugger with chopped up breaks, deep sub-bass, Compass Point styled keys, whispering voices saying 'Let Your Mind Be Free'. If you are a Cafe Del Mar connoisseur and longing for that sunset moment 'Bellatrix' does the trick featuring bits of Spanish Guitar, Flute, Oboe and floating warm pads creating that early 90ties vibe. Another winner from Willie and Darren - and hopefully an album soon.

Woe are King Midas Sound on ’Solitude’, their crushingly desolate new album, auspiciously cued for a Valentine’s Day release on Shapednoise’s Cosmo Rhythmatic label. A meditation on loss, narrated by Roger Robisnon and produced by Kevin Martin (The Bug), ’Solitude’ sees KMS gut out their sound following the bittersweet shoegaze-dub blooms of their ‘Edition1’ 2015 collaboration with Fennesz, resulting in a starkly noirish elegy to extinguished romance and love in the endtimes

Combining the grown-up, confessional vulnerability of Robinson’s lyrics and dreader-than-dread delivery with the most stripped back arrangements in Kevin Martin’s entire catalogue, the duo drill deep into emotional sufferation with simultaneously suffocating yet somehow beautiful results. Over the course of 12 songs, they glacially limn a coming-to-terms with a loss that has been enforced or unexpected, and ultimately arrive at the starkest conclusions with cinematic effect.

’Solitude’ pushes King Midas Sound’s pessimism to heart-rinsing degrees. Staging Robinson in a series of vantablack scenes veiled by smoky, minimal synth-lighting, the poet processes irrational and incessant feelings of rejection and loneliness. From the aching desolation of ‘You Disappear’ to the unflinching realisations of ‘X’, the ache imparted by Robinson’s lyrics is only amplified by his quiet stoicism, while Kevin Martin finds power in a sense of deferred gratification and his embrace of negative space.

The effect is nothing less than transfixing in the physicality of Robinson’s descriptions and the detached nature of Martin’s sferic electronics on ‘In The Night’, while pangs of lush optimism lend an exquisite contrast to the desiccated riddim and gloom of ‘Alone’, and the sylvan keys in their sensuous reverie, ’Her Body’.

‘Solitude’ is a more than worthy follow-up to King Midas Sound’s two albums for Hyperdub and their collaboration with Fennesz for Ninja Tune. It’s bound to reset what you know about KMS, and become a go-to album for anyone going thru conscious uncoupling, domestic strife, or meditating on love in the age of info overload.

Dimensions Recordings is proud to welcome London Modular Alliance back to the fold with their most dynamic and exciting release to date. Following on from 2017's superb Hands & Brains EP, the group present four new tracks on the 'Materials EP'.

Across the release, London Modular Alliance demonstrate their depth, technicality and playfulness in an EP that will find favour with dance floor enthusiasts and electro purists in equal measure. The London based crew are now firmly instated as the UK's prime electro proponents. From their powerful live shows and their small but perfectly sourced modular gear store in East London to their ever growing and impeccable catalogue, LMA are now established as a key artists in a reinvigorated and bristling electro scene worldwide.

Moons Delux's 'Know No Better (London Modular Alliance Remix)' is a crossover masterpiece. LMA's take on the Irish band's song sees them use a sprawling, vocal introduction, (with a vocal that might be more reminiscent of the likes of Caribou or even Thom Yorke) which eventually breaks to give way to a devastating barrage of beats that will no doubt see a broad range of DJs find space in their bags for it. 'No Response' strips things right back, tight, minimal production which is brimming with elastic funk and character - electro boogie. On the flip, 'Chrome' is a purist masterclass, energetic percussion, deep sub bass and detailed arrangement make it a versatile cut. The EP rounds off with 'Super Jupiter', and by no means are LMA letting up - the very fact that a track of this stature is final cut on the EP shows the sheer craftsmanship on display.

Since Danielle Mana's 2017 debut EP for Hyperdub, 'Creature', which was a taut, evocative suite of beatless, almost neo-classical electronics, we now find his music has caught an alien virus and started hallucinating. On 'Seven Steps Behind', the borders between reality and the weird have collapsed on each other, and with each listen through its zigzagging course, you're rewarded by its strange twists and turns. 'Seven Steps Behind' is an electronic album that doesn't always sound electronic; a great deal of the record has been created to sound like prepared pianos, harpsichords, cellos and flutes. At other times, sampled acoustic instruments and specially recorded sessions have been processed through software and careful editing. It's this sophisticated layering of contrasting versions of the same sources that help give this record its uncanny balance. The album also plays with your sense of time in its mostly drum-free hall of mirrors, pulling from minimalism, chamber music, dark jazz, and synthesiser experiments. Mana's singing voice also makes it's debut here, albeit adorned by abrasive FXs. His lyrics are encrypted in noise, in fitting with the music's chimeric character, casting images for the listener to decipher. His heavily manipulated voice enters on second track 'Myopia For The Future', sounding something like a singing motorbike pitched over bouncing ostinatos, or on 'No Body's inhuman, word-less range, where it's impossible to tell where the human finishes and the machine starts. Or in the case of 'Leverage For Survival' it's animal and machine. Here, as with the album's eponymous final track, a sensory assault subsides to reveal a heart-wrenching melancholy that anchors the record. Listening to 'Seven Steps Behind' is like stepping into a dream, with all the curious emotions and buried meaning that involves. Yet for all its restless, shifting energy it manages to hold both dissonance and melody in sweet proportion.

For the second instalment, Infernal Sounds welcome Bristol based duo, DE-TU¨ to the platter and dish up a weighty two-tracker ready to rattle the rib-cages far and wide. The duo have been making seismic waves the past couple years, having already released on IFS' main catalogue, alongside a killer EP on White Peach, it's only fitting they deliver yet another top drawer EP for this series.

Redstone Press co-founder Pseudopolis returns to the label for his second 12" with a harder edged and faster paced flirtation between UK Techno, electro and breaks.

The A-side dives straight into kaleidoscopic hypnosis with an intense drum workout on 'Yaris Crew' & the haunted synth lines and tripped out dub stabs of 'Pressure'. Whilst the B-side hikes up the bass-weight with urgent twisted breaks on 'Frenzied' and peaks with the patient building euphoria of 'Dirty Palette Cleanser'.

Cement returns with its second story - this time delving deeper into the dub techno abyss on the A-side with Montreal veteran Mateo Murphy's banger "Black River". It has peak hour written all over it with its full-on sound and tantilising dub atmosphere; a dark flowing bassline builds into a droney crescendo. Next Sonitus Eco of Silent Season, his label HAAV and the crucial Verdant delivers a coup de grace of dub techno. Stripped back with an effective 808 pattern, his tenacity with pads and atmospheric space echo gives "Ruffcut" its character and leaves you wanting more.
On the flip side, the elusive CMNT returns for another arpeggio-laden journey. With a constant kick and airy hats pattern, occasional stabs, melodic notes and some random human voices give texture to "White Heat".
Finally, label founder Caspian Rabone's electro moniker Fourmatic, drops a spacey electro workout "Ectosketch". Playing with tonal rhythms, the track unveils awkward synth hooks and metallic strings to keep things edgey.

Phran returns to Best Effort with an incendiary array of dance floor heaters, transmogrifying his hypnotherapeutic impulses in some startlingly different ways.

Phran introduces his DJ Phidias persona on the A side of the 12', starting proceedings with 'Sisplau' and its darker complement, 'Diamantera' - two cuts of twitchy latin drum programming, dub delay flourishes and freaky synth lines that recall the acid-drenched deliriousness of Villalobos' cooked conga sessions. The pitched-down B-Boy rhythms of 'Dummy Text Generator' are a change of pace but are no less weird, setting an acrobatic, constantly contorting acid line over fizzing roland drums.

The B-side is fully submerged in murk - First on 'Fleurhaus' and then when versioned on 'Fleursky'. The former foregrounds the snappy drums and heavy bassline before seemingly drifting off into an abyss of echo, returning - albeit slightly - from the void on the ethereal 'Fleursky', where he's joined by constant co-conspirator Ivy Barkakati on a Casio SA-39 keyboard. Amplifying the beautiful spaciness of the original while retaining the bass pressure, it's a perfect implementation of dub's alchemical processes.

Masked, mythical, and bass! Few words are needed when superlative entities collide.Dengue Dengue Dengue are the Peruvian duo known for raising a tropical storm. Their electronic psychedelia and bass flows from their roots in Lima, Perú upstream to global dancefloors. The duo are constant in their evolution, exploring rhythms and sounds native to Peru and from the world over. Their focus is in recreating them in electronic form, mixing the old with the new, analog and with digital.

In owning their unique sound and visual identity they share a common quest in their pairing with London-Global label On the Corner. Already deemed 'Label of The Year' at the Worldwide Awards On the Corner are crossing more borders and breaking down the silo of left-field sounds having now been nominated for the 'Best Small Label' gong at the prestigious AIM Awards.
Gilles Peterson's 'Worldwide Premieres' called it back in summer 2016 saying that the label is 'On a never-ending quest to support and expose far-off musical cultures around the world'. On the Corner continues to leave no stone unturned.

In this 6-tracker Dengue Dengue Dengue team-up with label mates Penya. The band feature on the first track 'Pua' that sets a rich scene for the sonic journey ahead. The flip is stormed with title track 'Semillero' whilst hearts, minds and imaginations are set to be inspired with their versioning of 'Habu Raminibu' which is a healing chant of the Huni Kuin people whose ancient home is located deep in the Amazon where the borders of Peru and Brazil meet. The collaboration between artist and label seeks to honour and represent this heritage. The Huni Kuin have bestowed guardianship of this rare cultural treasure to Dengue Dengue Dengue and On the Corner.

'Semillero' is music that moves souls, allows imaginations to flourish and the feet to follow.

The spiritual concept running through this mini album/E.P is summed up in the meaning of title track's name. 'Semillero' is an incubator or seed. A place where new generations of life, culture and talent is nurtured, initiated, and bestowed with precious responsibility and knowledge. A place to keep, nurture and grow the seeds of the future.

Korpus 9 return with another powerful EP, this time from Tom Hades. The Belgium based artist is a driving force in the scene and has elapsed on all the biggest labels from ELEVATE to Drumcode.

Here he kicks off with Acrab, a blistering number with deft synths and floating drums that really get you in a trance. Biham then gets more intense, with layer upon layer of icy synth and bright lights emitting from the pads in the background. Chara then shows off busy drum work, with organic hits and suspense filled grooves that take you on a real adventure, then Dubhe hits you over the head with more blistering drums and warm bass. It's a fantastic way to close an essential EP.

Amish Boy a.k.a. Sküge (not to be confused with Skudge) is Hugues Croibien, a thirty seven year old Belgian who has experimented with electronic music since his teens. With a diet of Seal Phüric, The Prodigy, Autechre and Unit Moebius stoking his primordial fire, Croibien began to align with the rage that exists in the Breakcore genre. Already an addict of reggae and dub at this time, Croibien decided to create some cut-up Raggacore with his brand new Ableton Live 3 software.

Meanwhile with friends, Croibien created 'Break n 'Brol', a non-lucrative association which tried to promote alternative electronic music in Liège where he lived. They premiered some Bassline stars "Kanji Kinetic" and "Squire of Gothos" on the Belgian scene, alongside other alternative electronic composers and musicians like Subjex, Ebola, Mustard Gunn and Herrmutt Lobby. The fellowship decided to create a free net label to release compilations with the BNB party artists.

The rough style techno resurgence over the last few years has precipitated a metamorphosis; Sküge became Amish Boy - more glitchy than techno, more offbeat than acid and more ambivalent than industrial. Although heavily invested for two decades now, 'Laika test Project' on Power Vacuum will be Croibien's first vinyl release, with a follow-up already in the pipeline.

A very special 4-track limited EP from Marked Vinyl, we begin with 'Foundation', a subtle, deep, hypnotic groover with enough sub-movement you know it works as soon as it starts. Next up is 'Greenfield Funk', a late-night trip where varied synths and melodic keys decorate an unassuming unmissable bassline. The third track here is 'Gaiahuasca', where pumping synths break into an all-encompassing acid bassline, as the shamans of the Amazon don the caps and sneakers of the City. Adred is back on Metalheadz and this time he's hitting the main label presenting 2 silky collaborations with Commix and Ant TC1 & DRS. Both sides are a compliment to each other as they showcase rich, deep sounds seeping with infectious patterns and soulful grooves, with the discernible voice of DRS executing a stand out release.

First released under the moniker 'Artist Formally Known As P.P.' (Persian Prince). This E.P. is One of the Holy Grails of UK Garage, with obscure tracks like 'Omid A Man' fusing the evocative sounds of the middle east with Sound System Bass Culture.

Persian is the first Iranian Electronic Artist from the West to have done this, previously in 1992 under the Moniker Persian Prince, he released 'Desertism' a unique innovating Hardcore Jungle track that fused eastern & western cultures together, making history in that Scene.

After months of anticipation UK DnB duo Delta Heavy finally drop their sophomore studio album 'Only In Dreams', out on worldwide release today via iconic imprint RAM Records. If 2018's WOLFEP046 touched on the burgeoning talent of rising Portuguese star Pedro, this 2019 follow-up delves deep into the accomplished head that rests on those youthful shoulders.

Opening the EP, 'She is' gives a taste of the path Pedro takes with this record. A ten-minute twisting trip, that moves and melds modern jazz leanings with a rugged aesthetic. Off kilter sax flurries, at times gleaming, at others melting, open up the distorted dreams of Pedro's world, as a metronomic double bass attempts to steady the ship. Metallic rides and abrupt percussive hits contrast with the sustained piano chords, further foraging down his surrealist sidewalk.

Take to the flip to find the waltzing 'Faces sob o sol'. A beatless contemporary jazz piece in 3/4 time, where deft piano melodies dance around a looped up, muted guitar phrase and twanging riffs. A simplicity born from only a handful of layers, that in turn creates a free-flowing fluidity through this jazz rabbit hole.

The most club ready of the cuts, 'Alef' rolls around next, where a funked out bass and psychedelic strummings, marry with crisp cymbals and polished piano playing. Pedro's dream inducing trip still takes its hold though, with distorted, panning, hallucinogenic vocal cries swelling across the airwaves.

Stepping up to close out the EP, Moomin flips 'Faces sob o sol' on its head, laying a rough and ready, liquid DnB rhythm as the basis alongside adding delicate arps and sweeping, atmospheric pads that follow Pedro's original. As hypnotising as its forebearer, but with an ethereal dancefloor orientated radiance.

With hundreds of new producers cropping up, week by week, it's rare to be challenged by something of such high quality from an up-and-coming artist. And with jazz finding a new lease of life across the UK, Pedro's latest output will be sure to find a home on these shores.

Next up on fresh, percussion-loving Canadian label, Breathing Room Records, is the Aquarius EP. It comes from a relative newcomer in Bixi, the new alias for Basel, Switzerland-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Lokke aka Modern Trash Quartett. The output for Bixi will be home to more sample & house-oriented tracks while Lokke will continue to lean more towards the downtempo and jazzy end of the spectrum.

Best known for his smooth 7' releases on Amsterdam's INI Movement, Berlin's Beatbude and Cologne/Berlin's Laut & Luise, this time the German producer takes us on a warm and tropical excursion for his first 12' release. 'Aquarius' instantly brings us Southward with a groovy rhythm, bird calls and a fluttering flute that transport you beachside. Rounding out the A side is 'Bicho De Pé' a deeper number with a brooding melody, thundering bass and textured atmospheres.

On the flip, 'Cosmic Water' is the most dancefloor friendly excursion with swelling synths, a hard hitting low end and a combination of both expertly sampled and finely performed parts. Continuing the trip into the tropics is 'Ryu Santos' with its deep jungle-inspired leanings and percussive workout. Closing out the record is 'Bunga Bunga', a sensual cut to close your eyes and get lost in.

The Aquarius EP is a medley of deft live instrumentation such as Rhodes keys, bass and percussion all mixed in with an adept use of samples. Additional percussion performed by Florian König. Artwork for the release is once again expertly curated by 3D and visual artist Maks Pihs, perfectly matching the theme of the release.

Known for his dub excursions on labels such as Dub Stuy, Zam Zam Sounds and Moonshine Recordings, Bukkha steps out under his Preacha moniker once again for NICE UP! with a deep, dark and brooding grime and trap influenced track. What started out initially as a remix project for another artist soon turned into a track of its own when badman MC and poet Rider Shafique stepped up on vocals, going deep on the subject of what drives us in his own inimitable style.

Remixes come from US dubstep don DJ Madd who flips the pace a bit for his signature 160 style - heavy on the vibes, bass and bounce, while up and coming producer Casement twists it into a grime style banger incorporating elements of garage and jungle along the way. An acapella version is included as an exclusive to the vinyl.

Klein Zage is the newly revealed moniker of DJ/Producer and co-founder of Orphan., Sage Redman. She founded Orphan. in 2015 with her friends Joe Gillick and Billy Meddleton. The three began throwing bi-monthly parties in Deptford; their aim was to feature the unsung heroes, the seminal artists that weren't often regulars in the crowded London club circuit. Come 2017 the trio found themselves divided by an ocean - Joe and Sage forced to relocate in Seattle after her visa expiration, and Billy to Berlin. Despite the distance, Orphan. carried on with events in each location (hosting the likes of DJ Python, Equiknoxx, DEBIT, Lapalux, Sylvere and many more) and launched Orphan.
