Aurora Borealis proudly presents the debut album from Maze & Lindholm, 'Where The Wolf Has Been Seen'.
Combining the talents of P.Maze, one half of noise/techno duo Orphan Swords, with fellow Brussels-based producer and musician Otto Lindholm, 'Where The Wolf Has Been Seen' is a meditative and claustrophobic work for electronics and double bass.
'Where The Wolf Has Been Seen' will be available on deluxe 180g black vinyl housed in a reverse board heavyweight sleeve with spot varnish and download code, limited to 300, in addition to limited CD and digital formats.
The four parts evolve and spread outwards, throbbing bass drones colliding with slowly bowed arcs of keening strings that make for a deeply immersive listening experience. 'Where The Wolf Has Been Seen' explores the boundaries of the modern classical and electronic disciplines, with slowly shifting and expanding compositions that thrive on the tension between.

Otto Lindholm : Brussels-based producer evolving between drone music and modern classical , Otto Lindholm employs an array of loop pedals and electronic effects in partnership with his double bass to produce a range of rich and voluptuous tones, emotions, and elongated melodies. Otto Lindholm came to light in 2016 with his debut eponymous LP (Icarus), a "stunningly beautiful" record (FACT). His second LP 'Alter' (2017 Gizeh), was introduced on BBC6 by Mary Anne Hobbs as an "Extraordinary new LP. Deeply meditative". Early 2018, he opened the new Houndstooth compilation "In Death's Dream Kingdom". « The set opens with Otto Lindholm's Cain - all Ligeti / Xenakis style doom and dirge and cooling solar flares ». P.Maze is half of the duo Orphan Swords. Described as 'a brutal hypnosis' by Ransom Note, Orphan Swords music has been released on Aurora Borealis, Desire Records, Clan Destine and Instruments Of Discipline. The duo has collaborated with Ike Yard, Helm, SHXCXCHCXSH, Emptyset, and many more. Earlier this year, Orphan Swords was invited to live score the Walter Van Beirendonck show at Fashion Week Paris. That meeting resulted into a techno-driven menacing album to be released in 2019. The art cover curated by Walter Van Beirendonck will present a painting of Wouter Steel. Next to the furious maximal output of Orphan Swords, P.Maze is exploring a quieter and much more minimal side. The collaboration with Otto Lindholm represents his first official output under that moniker. A solo debut album is in the works for 2019.

How can we free ourselves from set definitions enforced by spoken language's power structures This current exhibition (or rather the works within it) deal with the relative non-state and impossibility of that passage. This sort of empirical navigation can't be discovered through an unavoidable application—its compass is the unconscious knot that throbs in your lower gut when you learn your therapist's office is one level up from the fine French bistro where you first met.

In this new ambitious Exhibition by The Modern Institute, the subtle frictions of—faux—eel skin, ostrich, snake, crocodile make for a tactile image of vital interiority; and keep one from slipping haplessly through the ceiling cracks.

Being closely connected to the label, it was only a matter of time before Daniele Cosmo was released on Pinkman. At long last, he makes his debut appearance with co-conspirator CCO as Savage Grounds. What they came up with is a tight two tracker presenting full speed, minimalistic punk electro workouts. Both tracks, while boasting with furiosity and dread, as is often the case in the Broken Dreams releases, carry an infectious groove that is guaranteed to get bodies moving in the highest gear and right into the abyss. Pressed on a single 7" this concise release is far from falling short in completeness, expertise and potential to break dreams.

Berlin's Ecke Records returns with its second release this December, coming courtesy of Squallfront who offer up their two-track EP, 'Stormin''.

Ecke Records's Xantrax & Johnny Counce aka Squallfront (as the pair like to be referred to when alone in a darkened room) bring you their debut two-tracker. The artwork is the second in a series of works by Ben Fables. Each piece is handcrafted be the man himself and standing as a visual interpretation of the music itself, a theme that will continue with the label.

A-Side 'The Bells' Straddles the boundaries between Electro, Rave & UK Bass with a twisted arrangement laid out over seven-minutes via syncopated, dynamic drums, murky bass tones and choppy rave style string samples.

On the flip-side we have 'The Crack' laying focus on off-kilter, groove-step percussion and the emergence of 8-bit style chords hinting towards the deep-dystopian electronica days of old. The composition was recorded in 'the cave', an old underground wine cellar in the south of France. The distorted cracking comes from a dusty old analogue electric organ, bugging-out whilst gained the max. Playing powerful chords on the lower keys caused the inner workings & chassis of the old organ to shake profusely adding a further distinctive character to this already forward thinking production.

Squallfront's 'Stormin' EP' is out on Ecke Records 4th December 2018. With a party to celebrate the release planned for the 7th December, Ecke has invited UntilMyHeartStops' Joe Ellis down for an evening of deep, rolling rhythms.

Volume 2 of retakes of C Cat Trance's unique post-punk meets world beat brings the collaboration between Malka Tuti and Emotional Rescue to a close. Here again, the label's call in a selection of heads to re-envisage a modern vision of the music to present a perfect representation for today.

Starting with Red Axes retake of an almost untouchable classic, the booming, sound system-quaking version of Shake The Mind is a heads down mover that should add to their reputation and finally give DJ's a follow up to utilise.

Next, Jamie Paton gives the perfect trance-inducing, dubbed edit of Take Me To The Beach. Looping the drums and horns infinitum, building through repetition was never truer, before release. His individual take on remixes is again displayed, deep dubs from the brethren.

To close the 2 EPs, the final side is given to a meeting of older and established artist and new, upcoming, but already respecting crew. In Prins Thomas, the psychedelic protagonist of the heralded northern disco lights, his name was first to be penciled. His live, drum-heavy reversions have become trademark and in Sudaniyya, it's all there. Subtle, confident and alluring, Thomas builds to a steady jam of machine and man, letting it all hang and simply, groove along.

In finale, Khidja bring in friend and fellow Romanian production rising star, Borusaide to cover Simple Helen. A slow-burning ode in original form, their genius reversion captures the essence and much more, giving C Cat Trance's music a whole new lease, while presenting their production talent and musicianship. As was the hope and intention of these updated versions - Re-mixes for the 21st Century - with a nod to the past, but feet firmly in the future. Play loud and play out.

Mijo aka Alec Sander is a legend and you must know this by now. The Mexican born, Japanese raised and taco lover producer makes his solo EP debut with Duro. 'THXTASY' is one of those many forgotten gems you can find inside Alec's dusty laptop hard drive, charged with plenty of rawness and humor; two of the main Mijo ingredients.

The single is splendidly accompanied: on the A-side we have the upcoming rising superstar Paulor (whose career is currently being endorsed by Rebolledo and Pachanga Boys) with a strong, guitar driven mix. B-side goes more eclectic: D.Y.O.R. aka Dig Your Own Rave, from Spain, delivers an epic madchester style acid odyssey, while The Chica, from Argentina, delivers an edgier punk house mix. Enjoy!

Mega-rarity from the Korean Ambient / Experimental band, Puredigitalsilence! First released in 1998 on a barely marketed and quickly forgotten 1000-run CD, this is some of the most mental, druggy music to ever see life in Korea. Taking the style of Swans, Spacemen 3 and My Bloody Valentine as a starting point, PDS, formed in the fertile university neighborhood of Hongdae in Seoul, branched into more experimental choices of sound layers and textures, incorporating elements of Drone, Ambient and Noise into intense, lengthy improvised jams. Analog electronics, reverb and delay-drenched atmospheric synth lines comprise the supporting cast of this mind-twisting soundscape, almost completely lost to the sands of time before being rescued by Daehan Electronics.

This release has been carefully remastered and is being offered on Vinyl for the first time, spread over two full-length LPs for the best possible sound. Delving deep into social and political subtexts, Thomas Ragsdale bases the framework of his new album 'Self Zero' around classified mind analysis, ritualistic cults and savage primal urges.

It's as much blissful pensiveness as it is pure trance brutality. Seductive vintage string machines, thrusting 808 drum rhythms and jugular striking 'Penderecki' style vocals weave in a rainstorm of serene chaos. Thomas describes it as 'it's own world of diseased, neon-coloured sour sweets put through distortion units on volume 11: there's a warm welcoming smile, but it shrouds the grim reality of what truly lies beneath'.

'Self Zero' was pieced together in Ragsdale's basement studio in Yorkshire, where he honed his craft for writing music for commercials, feature films and documentaries. Whereas his output has varied from minimalist ambient guitar preludes to throbbing techno workouts, 'Self Zero' sees him in a particularly vicious mode with a 'when is this thing going to explode' mentality.

Thomas' resume boasts music featured on two BBC documentaries from film maker Adam Curtis ('Bitter Lake' & the highly acclaimed 'HyperNormalisation') as well as composing for the likes of BMW, Prada and Twitter. He sits alongside Luke Abbott and Jon Hopkins in Domino Publishing's esteemed and prestigious roster and his music has been praised highly by Resident Advisor, FACT, Mary Anne Hobbs and The Guardian.

TUTTI is comprised of eight soundscapes: an audio self portrait comprising of manipulated sound recordings from Cosey's life, music and art:
'It's the only album I've made that is an all encompassing statement expressing the totality of my being. A sense of the past in relation to the present and everything in between.'

These eight pieces were originally conceived as the soundtrack to the autobiographical film 'Harmonic Coumaction', and performed live in February 2017, part of a series of events that accompanied the COUM Transmissions retrospective which opened Hull UK City of Culture 2017. Later that year, 'Harmonic Coumaction' was presented as an audio-visual installation for Cosey Fanni Tutti's solo exhibition at Cabinet Gallery, London.
Cosey Fanni Tutti explains: 'Working on the COUM Transmissions exhibition also coincided with writing my autobiography - collating archive material and re engaging with my past. My work is a continuum, the past feeding the present and vice versa. The album is an interpretation of my past and present, of my understanding the shifting perceptions of how they inform one another. One form creating another through a metamorphic process.'

On TUTTI, the music has been updated and enhanced with elements of the original tracks re-recorded and further processed specifically to create a unique stand-alone document, separate to the live performance and installation. Recorded at Cosey Fanni Tutti's studio in Norfolk, the album, as on her debut release, Time To Tell, merges Cosey's art activities with her exploration of sound: The album's autobiographical theme is not locked into any specific time or place, the 'voices', instruments and sounds together span decades of my life, music and art. In this context my name 'TUTTI' shifts from its role as a noun to perfectly represent the concept of the album, also acting as sign for me the artist.
TUTTI is Cosey Fanni Tutti's only solo album release since 1982's Time To Tell. Time To Tell was recently given its first release on vinyl, on a long awaited official deluxe edition. The interim years between solo releases has seen a blisteringly prolific output as an artist and musician. Renowned for her art, her work in the sex industry, as co-founder of Industrial music and Throbbing Gristle, and her pioneering electronic music solo and as Chris & Cosey, Carter Tutti and Carter Tutti Void, she has created throughout with the motto 'my life is my art, my art is my life'.

Here's a few words from Lia - "When I moved to London in 2015, many things changed at once - I started going to more techno and electro nights, I changed my live-set setup, and I had access to a fully-equipped recording studio through my music masters programme. At the same time I was reading a lot of books on time travel, not just science fiction but also psychology and neuroscience - like how the human brain perceives time from moment to moment, how we can experience overlapping time, and how we interact with our past and future through memory and imagination. 'The Sampler As A Time Machine' is the result of all these new influences coming together. The tracks were developed out of ongoing studio experiments interpreting these different ideas of time travel by using samplers and tape to re-sample and manipulate original music performed by me on various instruments including my voice."

Vienna based producer and Affine Records founding member Cid Rim hitting the streets again with two original synth-drenched firecrackers and a rework by dutch crate-digger and avant-garde jazz cognoscente Jameszoo.

Cid Rim celebrated his debut in 2010 with his Full Nelson EP on Affine Records, which was followed by a signing from prestigious Lucky Me label where he released two much-noticed EPs so far. The last 18 months have seen him produce for the likes of Theophilus London, Okmalumkoolkat or Spoek Mathambo. At the moment you can find Cid on tour as a drummer with labelmate and fellow campaigner Dorian Concept for his "Joined Ends Live Show". His trademark remixes for CHVRCHES, Mikky Ekko or Sky Ferreira clocked up serious airplay all across the world and his original tracks are featured constantly by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Lefto, Hudson Mohawke or Eclair Fifi.

Two years after the fizzing pulse of his debut Telo left an indelible mark on the experimental club scene, Gage returns to Crazylegs to deliver a personal statement bristling with dark energy: a six-track EP called Mercury. 'Most of the time making music is fun for me but at times it's therapeutic too. The tracks on Mercury are generally ones that have externalised recent frustrations in my personal life and I think that comes across when you listen back. I kinda removed myself from the outside world for a bit and it freed up a lot of the limitations I used to unknowingly place on my work' - Gage. Time moves quick in electronic music. Since Gage's 2014 breakthrough a whole generation of innovators has flourished - the likes of Murlo, Rabit, Bloom, Slackk, Mr. Mitch and Mumdance sending out loud signals amongst the ever-increasing noise. In that time, Gage has quietly carved his own identity as a creator and purveyor of oddball club music. Output has been irregular but always impressive, with notable remixes for Inkke and Mr. Mitch and his sleeper hit Bad Bitch with Kevin Jz Prodigy. But Mercury is Gage's loud signal: from the frenzied decay of Turbulence, via the deafening fizz of Gruellin to the breakneck elastic thump of Rochester Way, there's barely a familiar sound across its 20 minute expanse. It's intense, disorientating and at times it feels like it's tearing open at the seams. But like all great records, there's a fiercely unique sense of character that binds it from start to finish. Crazylegs is an independent record label from Bristol and Resident Advisor's label of the month November 2015 - home to a close-knit family of artists including Gage, Ziro, Bloom, TRC, Murlo, ISLAND and Deadboy.

Roughly said, Night Sticks is a completely obscure synthesizer duo from Sweden, to quote the protagonists. But for us, love started many moons ago. Their melodies have been floating at home for years. For years, we have been listening to the only 4 tracks available on Soundcloud. With the same exact emotion each time, like unconditional love. Widely respected for his interesting and experimental side projects, The Horrors synthesist Tom Furse has today released an album of instrumentals, recorded entirely on the Teenage Engineering OP-1 synthesiser - only the second album of its kind in existence. Created in just one week, Tom Furse's 'Interludes' is a fun snapshot of his exploration of this technology, capturing the results how and when they happened, and presented in the order they were made.Interludes' began as an experiment in producing short pieces of music for use on his NTS radio show, but Tom soon realised he'd inadvertently crafted an album's worth of work. Created between 9th-16th July of this year, the 16 track album was recorded in the order of the final track-listing, with each piece informing the next. It is intended to be enjoyed as a whole, a reaction against the idea of the 'dying album'.All music was improvised and recorded using only an OP-1 synthesiser - a newly acquired piece of music-technology esoterica that works more like a video game that a recording device. On the process, Tom comments:In many ways my unfamiliarity with the OP-1 was key, I had no ingrained habits and a decades worth of experience with synthesisers was somewhat irrelevant in front of a device that used, for instance, physical models of a tombola as a sequencer, or a driving game as a filter. This was not familiar territory, but simultaneously the whole process was very intuitive."
The pieces of music on 'Interludes' are not songs - they are part of a continuing investigation into alternative musical form and a dissolution of preconceived notions of genre, style and structure. Tom explains, "This is the musical area that intrigues me the most, and it's more recent creep into the mainstream has been both fascinating and inspiring to watch. Due to the primitive, 4 track cassette-like interface of the recording section of the OP-1, complicated arrangements were not really possible, so instead I committed to simple loops and keyboard passages, just trying to capture a moment. Without the luxury of careful editing, this meant getting it right first time or starting again all over - a far cry from my previous decade of experience using Ableton, with its many modern conveniences". To partner with 'Interludes', Tom has created visuals for the entire album. Again using unfamiliar technology, Tom spent a week experimenting with video synthesisers and animation, an entirely new field for him. The result is a lo-fi visual trip, matching perfectly the grainy sound of the album.'Interludes' is out now digitally via Kaya Kaya Records, and will be available on vinyl on 18th November via Tom Furse's own label, Mind Meld Recordings. There will be a release party held at Brilliant Corners in Dalston, London on 22nd November, with DJ sets from Tom Furse, Pete Fowler and Cherish Kaya - all welcome.

Footshooter is the moniker of London based producer, DJ and musician Barney Whittaker. His style blends skippy, broken beat production with live instrumentation to create an organic, rich sound and he frequently collaborates with emcees, poets and vocalists exploring different tones and moods.

His last record, Strange Days EP (released on Famous Friends), gained regular plays on NTS, Balamii, WorldWide FM and, most recently, by Bonobo in a DJ set at his NYC Boiler Room.

'Technicolour Nights', due out on YAM Records later this year, is a meditation on long evenings & nights out and how they vary in atmosphere, mood and colour. Opening with the aptly named and ethereal 'Intro', the EP quickly jumps into sunshine territory with 'Juan's Stairwell' before 'On Telegraph Hill' brings the heads down for a meditative two-step groover to close up the A-side.

On the flip, Footshooter flexes his 160bpm muscles on 'Mars' with the help of London based vocalist and MC And Is Phi, before dropping the tempo just a touch on 'Rotations', a steppy, Rhodes-laden journey through London nightlife. 'Our Love' lowers the tempo even further to bring the EP to a close on a bittersweet note.

This album is a collaboration between labels Kontra-Musik and Kess Kill. What would have become of D.A.F. if they had been signed to Trojan instead of Mute back in the day Add a good pinch of absurdism and social realism in the vein of prized film director Roy Andersson and Vanligt Folk might just be the answer. The Gothenburg group's name can be translated to 'common people' and they make use of primitive electronics, drums and skewed vocals - ranging from harsh social commentary to the purely nonsensical - to create their own take on body music. 'Hambo' is the name of a traditional Swedish folk dance that was highly popular among the common people at the turn of the last century. With this album, Vanligt Folk juxtaposes the working class dance phenomena of Hambo with modern day rave culture. This is done in the most blasphemous manner thinkable, as is the way of Vanligt Folk. Concepts like nationalism, race and tradition are all treated with the same merry lack of reverence. The only thing that needs to be respected is The Dance and those who take part in it, whether accompanied by accordions or drum machines. Or both.

Here, Richard Youngs, Michael Francis Duch, Paul Thomson and Luke Fowler are more honed, razor sharp in focus and timing, testing their instrumental prowess on condensed song structures and new, enlightened feelings of expansive hope and bliss. From the outset, it's an ambitious yet ultimately inclusive journey. Recorded to 24-track tape at Chem 19 and mixed by Paul Savage and Richard McMaster (Golden Teacher), this full length retains the elastic grooves of Paradise and Higher Moment, the group's previous singles, but relinquishes the classic Philadelphia International-tinged sound in favor of looser rhythmic patterns. There are new depths to the compositions: a more free-flowing approach to percussion and deft experiments in hybridity make for a full and rounded, emotionally tinged record. Indeed, there are times when AMOR sound like the lost house band from David Mancuso's Loft parties: Richard Youngs' uplifting, gospel-tinged lyrics talk about moving beyond, universal truths, sailing through the horizon. It's a wideeyed optimism Mancuso would perhaps have approved of and which is embroidered with spectral details that begs to be auditioned on large, tweaked out sound-systems.

Lerosa's 25th solo EP will be released on German label eudemonia. Known for his deep-house sound, the Dublin based Italian producer showcases a different palette for this release. The four tracks gravitate somewhere between Electro, Italo, Synthwave and imaginary film themes. "Glider", a fast electro track, opens the EP combining acid drops and dystopian sci-fi elements. "The Minister' is much slower and serves as an emotional homage to those gone too soon. "Plateau Rosa" connects Italo and Detroit delivering a rolling bassline and glassy synth clouds for the delight of the afterhour-dancefloor. And if Lerosa had scored the soundtrack of a Michael Mann film in the 80's, "Theme of Perception" would have been right at home, a fitting end for this EP. The cover is a painting by the Irish artist Sibyl Montague. It was originally exhibited in London at an exhibition called - Totem'.
