On their new 12“, Obsession EP, Berlin-based duo CYRK expand on their unique permutation of sci-fi-inspired electro. The title track is another fine example of the brooding and cinematic atmosphere they have championed lately. Recalibration ups the ante significantly. It’s a fast-paced and tense dance floor smasher replete with screams and powerful howls by Berlin-based singer Sunru. In his remix, veteran producer The Hacker slows down the tempo and turns the frantic original into a slow-chugging lesson in new beat intensity. DJ LOUI on the other hand, strips away the layers of pads and focuses on the bass line of Obsession, turning it into a bare-bones rhythm track with an 80s twist.

The golden children of the genre, Harald Grosskopf and Eberhard Kranemann, have united to celebrate the genre's reign as Krautwerk. Originating from the German cities Berlin and Duesseldorf, Krautrock dominated the musical field from 1969 - 1975. Its influential force impacted rock and techno. Lose yourself in the trippiness of Krautwerk's psychedelic soundscapes and celebrate a movement that changed music as we know it. Kranemann and Grosskopf did not know each other until they met for the first time in 2016 on a festival where they both performed their solo projects. They decided to merge the different sounds of Duesseldorf and Berlin school of electronic music together, resulting in energetic, contemporary new sounds.

Field recordings of late nights out and early stumblings home link tracks together and place their moments of creation in the city.
Spurred on by Sheffield's Kabal nights and trips to The Electric Chair in Mcr, 'Hot Yoga Emoji' mixes live drums and bass guitar with pocket sound generators, old synths and vocals to create an album of irresistible live dance music.!

Pauline Oliveros' Tara's Room has long been a favorite in the Imprec office and it's a great honor to be able to release it on LP for the very first time. Tara's Room was cut by John Golden and pressed at RTI in order to achieve a quiet, dynamic pressing. Originally released on cassette in 1987 following the 1986 release of "Sounding / Way" with Guy Klucevsek which is also available on LP via Imprec.

Acclaimed internationally, for four decades she has explored sound - forging new ground for herself and others. Through improvisation, electronic music, ritual, teaching and meditation she has created a body of work with such breadth of vision that it profoundly effects those who experience it, and eludes many who try to write about it. Oliveros has been honored with awards, grants and concerts internationally. Whether performing at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., in an underground cavern, or in the studios of West German Radio, Oliveros' commitment to interaction with the moment is unchanged. She can make the sound of a sweeping siren into another instrument of the ensemble.

unperson’s forthcoming ‘The Ghosts That Gave’ EP will be released digitally and on 12” vinyl via Negative Space Ma, kick-starting a new chapter for the enigmatic producer as he glides between ambient, techno, breakbeat, footwork and UK funky with unquestionable prowess across 6 varied but inter-woven tracks.

The EP is framed around the concept of juxtaposing moments of euphoria and melancholy found within club music, delicately expressing intricate textures and emotion for the quiet corners whilst maintaining a dance-floor sensibility.

Following Altkat’s Lakerda LP, Banlieue Records is proud to announce Dupla Rítmica EP, a 7” release with a 12” center label, hand stamped and limited to 200 copies.

On the A-side, Banlieue’s own Benoit B delivers a track entitled 100%. It’s a 107 bpm affair, between pristine drum programming, a bassline at the forefront, oldschool textures a-plenty, stabs galore and some digital pan-pipes added for good measure. Here’s a compelling tune with a constant and tireless groove, like one of those obscure B-sides created several decades ago that still sounds forward-thinking.

On the flipside, a track by Buenos Aires-based producer Cándido, who is here joining the dots between the sounds of classic European EBM and of US freestyle under a common latinx thread. With hard hitting percussion, pitched and gated drums, triggered samples, slapped FM bass and Spanish spoken word, this 115 bpm tune is a skilful and dance-inducing nod to oldschool vibes that haven’t lost their dance-inducing power.

Susubrino’s EP is dedicated to his guitar teacher in Castilla La Mancha, as he opened Pandor’s Box and introduced Susubrino to a new world of classica land traditional guitar music.

His Spanish teacher always motivated young Susubrino in pursuing and never stop writing. One of his beloved and most cherished artists that he discovered at that time was Juanjo Dominguez. This really sparled his interest and persevered him to play like this.

Recent discovery and inspiration is the Bolivian musician & painter Alfredo Dominguez, his sincere compositions are definitely influencing Susobrino’s guitar plays and motivates him to proceed writing classica land traditional guitar pieces.

Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy is the second album by the electropunk band Mindless Self Indulgence. The album contains 30 songs, all of which are ranked by their title, including “Bitches”, “Dicks Are For My Friends”, “Holy Shit” and “Royally Fucked”. Industrial madness mixed with hip hop and electronic rock (or, as the band like to call it: industrial jungle pussy punk) packed with crazy lyrics sang by falsetto singer Jimmy Urine. It’s a fascinating record where you’ll discover something new every time you listen to it.

Dj Ham (aka Hamilton) is a Kniteforce original artist, one of the ones who were there from the beginning and were part of the original success of the Kniteforce label as a whole. His classic work includes Most Uplifting and Let Yourself Go, the second of which gets a huge remix on this EP! But that’s the last track on the EP, because as good as it is, it is eclipsed by Dj Hams new work. Give It To Em contains all the elements you would expect – an old skool sound, sure, but innovation and trickery to stun and amaze while forcing the dancefloor to explode. Likewise, Noise Up grabs you by the ears and will not let go until its had its wicked way with you. A big EP from a big artist, not to be missed….

Subexotic Records presents our first project with talented producer Onepointwo. Konstantinos Giazlas (aka Onepointwo) hails from Thessaloniki, Greece, and sites influences from the late 50s electronic experimental sounds, motorik,krautrock, lush shoegaze melodies and modern electronica. Talking about hiscreative outlook, Kostas says: "I continually look to emulate a musical journey into space, time, memories and frequencies". This journey is conducted with the use of minimal electronics, abstract and distorted shortwave radio signals, dystopian soundscapes, all carefully wrung out from criss-crossing digital and analogue sources, fused with a passion for heavyeffects and percussive sounds. Fashioned from a collection of tracks hitherto believed to be lost to a cruel computer malfunction, Synchronization was salvaged from a final reboot. No editing, no tweaking, no second chance - these tracks have reached terminal velocity. Luck is on our side, as what remains reveals a series of intricate yet powerful soundscapes, with finely wrought motifs that repeat and build to create Onepointwo's trademark shimmering psychedelic impact. His previous discography includes Keene (Poeta Negra) / SANS (Lotus RecordShop Editions) and various appearances & remixes on domesticlabel compilations. 2020 brought about 2 album releases on highly regarded cult UK labels Miracle Pond and Woodford Halse, garnering a slew of positive reviews, including warm praise in Electronic Sound Magazine.

Conceived as a form of sonic road movie, beginning at dusk and ending at dawn the following day, Rupert Lally’s aural accompaniment to the hours of darkness effortlessly combines electronica, industrial, contemporary classical and jazz, with the resulting mix sounding akin to a soundtrack to a Wim Wenders film if composed by Jan Garbarek, Carl Craig and Max Richter. Hailing originally from England but now based in Switzerland, guitarist, percussionist and electronic musician Rupert Lally began his career as a sound designer and composer for theatre and TV, before launching his solo career in 2005. Since then his releases have blurred the boundaries between electronic and acoustic music. Lally's consistently brilliant work is always a highlight of the electronic music calendar, including recent stellar works across many labels such as Spun Out Of Control, Third Kind, Woodford Halse, and Modern Aviation.

Perhaps needed now more than ever, Freestylers are stepping up to the plate with brand new sounds that destroy genre boundaries and offer a strobing light at the end of the tunnel.

‘Other Worlds’ delves into a mishmash of drum and bass, hip-hop,
electronica, dub, breakbeat and everything in between. It also showcases incredible talent from across the globe, including Plump DJs, Blapps Posse, Laura Steel, Scarlett Quinn, MC Spyda, Tenor Fly, Hyperactive MC, Mad Doctor X and K-OSS.

The album features the lockdown anthem ‘Happiness’. Initially created for big-room, festival-worthy summer touring, this early-rave inspired anthemic track will still have you dancing round your living room with it’s no nonsense breakbeat style.

Following the recent collaborative SERWED II and Square Fauna albums on West Mineral Ltd. and Firecracker Recordings respectively, Flaty is back on his own ANWO RECORDS with an album titled RAILZ. A year in the making, it's a product of solitary contemplative pursuit, an exploration of a metaspace where the varied worlds inherent to Flaty's artistic sensibility coexist, blend and collide true to the original kinship between electro and hip-hop. The altered footwork and fine-grained dubstep sonic structures, the freeform soundscapes and refracted beats, the consistently heavy bass and eventful razor-sharp high frequencies of the album are all bred, built, mixed and mastered single-handedly by Flaty who has also designed all the artwork and packaging. In comparison with the artist's previous productions, the tone is colder, the approach more detached, while the substance is no less personal and the experience neither less diverse nor less intense. The artistic, cultural and technological styles and eras of the last half-century fuse and productively dissolve in the utopian interferences of the LP. Expect RAILZ to be presented as the soundtrack to a forthcoming series of ANWO STUDIO collaborative audiovisual live performances.

Labelle hails from Saint-Denis de la Réunion, His home is at the top of an apartment block in the centre of the island's capital. It's a belvedere overlooking the rich and extravagant cultural crossroads of Saint-Denis de la Reunion, a laboratory of Creolism and musical blending, where he composes his music on hi-tech machines, sketching out celestial electronic symphonies whilst cultivating a deep connection with the soil.

His sophomore album is entitled univers-île and features a dreamy, hypnotic collection of new studio recordings that span electronica, new age zither jams and off-kilter syncopated percussion with occasional ambient and techno influences.

It also includes the collaborations of some of La Reunion finest vocal musicians ( Zanmari Baré, Nathalie Natiembé, Maya Kamaty and Hasawa) and as well as respected instrumentists from the jazz and world music circuits ( Ballaké Sissiko, Prakash Sontakke, Joao Ferreira ).

Raw, trippy, and mysterious.

Up to kick off 2021 in the most adequately frenzied, thoroughly corrosive fashion, DDS04 serves up a quintet of chrome-tanned, hi-velocity beats courtesy of Italian hardware fetishist Anna Funk Damage (previously heard on the likes of Mind Records, Lux Rec, Lazy Tapes and more) and Austrian-Hungarian outfit Dutch Courage - alias Superskin & Új Bála - each of whom step up to the plate to deliver an exquisitely ear-wormy slice of their deranged industrial gospel.

A-side starts off to the sound of AFD's hard bouncin' "48 Hours Death" - a raw-cooked deluge of head-reducing EBM grit, flaring binary signals and Giallo-infused arpeggios out a blood-stained Suspirian tale. Fear for the deadly scalp hunters lurking in the club's darkest nooks, they've just sniffed out your trail.

Brutal churner "Youssef" picks up the torch and pulls out the quake-inducing breaks without further ado, dressed out with languorous Orientalistic melodies and steely distortions tailored to bend mind by the dozens. Forged in the furnace, the full-out punk-minded "I Come From Fire" rounds off the side on a drum and bass-heavy note, drawing as much from 60s psych-garage as it does from 80s deconstructionist tape music.

Flip sides and here's Budapest unit Dutch Courage taking the reins with the off-kilter treat "Hand Of The Sword" - navigating a weird zone of its own, floating astride post-apocalyptic Bristol bass, sliced-and-diced abstraction and overly textured yet equally bone-bruising riddims.

Wrapping up the journey with both force and serenity, "Neo-Soulmates" follows a similar path with its warped synth flexions and raucous machine cries making the rounds from one end of the spectrum to the other effortlessly, merging to give birth to something genetically contrasting from any contemporary. A most fitting finale to an EP that celebrates and encourages sonic bizarro in all its forms and manifestations.

2021 Repress

Rone is a stalwart of the French electronic scene and returns with his fourth album, 'Mirapolis', a synesthetic journey with features from Bryce Dessner (The National), Baxter Dury, John Stanier (Battles) and Saul Williams. The artwork was created by the critically acclaimed director Michel Gondry.
Stepping into Rone's music is like sleepwalking through a vividly colourful dream, eventually stumbling across a strange, scintillating Megapolis of saturated light and colours: 'Mirapolis'. Its twelve tracks / districts, each with their own specific planning, pulsate as though animated by their musical mastermind.
The project was an opportunity to get reacquainted with long- time stage and studio partners John Stanier, Gaspar Claus and the Vacarme band and Bryce Dessner (guitarist for The National,) while bringing in new collaborators (and thus, new interpretation of Rone's dreams). We find American slam-poet Saul Williams, who happened to be in Paris for a moment and contributes a searing anti-Trump screed, Baxter Dury, who brings an irresistible East London touch to 'Switches', a kind of fan fic that reimagines the Beatles' Sergeant Pepper lounging pensive in a club chair, Israeli electronic music muse Noga Erez, who inspired 'Waves' which, despite being recorded remotely, betrays a euphoric partnership, and finally, Kazu Makino, Blonde Redhead's bewitching singer and multi- instrumentalist, who contributes to the album's closer, the gauzy 'Down For The Cause'.
Rone remains a producer of grand instrumental pieces, which cannot be easily categorized in the architectural canon of our electronic music galaxy. Hypnotic, cinematic opening track 'I Philip' is an offshoot from the score for the first French virtual reality fiction, built around Philip K Dick - the perfect gate into a city that then opens up myriad temporal perspectives.

Ushering in an exciting new era for the label, nightclub and mix series, Bonobo opens the 'Fabric Presents' series that pledges CD and vinyl releases on a quarterly basis. His highly textural aesthetic translates into an ethos that looks to introduce a more open musical palette without losing sight of its past. His mix supports 10 exclusives or unreleased tracks, including 2 from himself and another from his rare pop-up alias Barakas. Employing the multi-instrumental arrangements of his own work in this 74 minutes of house, techno, electronica and breakbeat, each track exudes character and allows animated melodies to wander and develop, all the while grounded by an acute sense of harmonic progression and rhythmic precision.
