Since inaugurating Fabric's Houndstooth label back in February of last year, UK-born Berlin transplant JR Seaton aka Call Super has proved to be one of its most interesting producers, building impressively on the early promise of his colourful techno productions for Throne of Blood and Five Easy Pieces.
The 11-track Suzi Ecto sees Seaton branching out into more abstract musical shapes, with a mixture of ambient and downtempo productions that have more in common with the stranger moments on last year's The Present Tense EP

Formerly known as Al Tourettes, London-based producer Alec Storey unveiled his new project as Second Storey with 2013's 'Margosa Heights' EP. Now he drops 'Shaman Champagne', the lead single from 'Double Divide', his forthcoming debut LP due for release this October.
Inhabiting a space full of contradictions, paradoxes and idiosyncrasies, Storey produces music that runs the gamut from multi-part suites of hefty sound design to club-shaking yet brainy dance epics for labels like Apple Pips, Aus and many more. This new project is at the crossroads; vastly complex and intricately arranged, 'Shaman Champagne' is an adventurous club tune crafted by a truly inspired mind, showing off his bass roots as well as his psychedelically inspired musical abilities.
The single is backed with a couple of stellar remixes. On the heels of his successful 'The Power And The Glory' LP, Perc Trax label boss Perc offers up a wonderfully heavy, pummelling remix, followed by a bouncy dancefloor roller from Aden, who is rumoured to be the Ultramajic label's A&R, Machinedrum.

Many Faces Out Of Focus comprises six joyously well produced tracks from 22 year old essex boy Stuart Howard. His productions have already caught the interest of those voices seeking future cult heroes and it is no surprise that the finesse with which he controls samples and synths has left every new listener weâ'¬'¢ve played it to smiling with glee. It is easy to cloud the blissful abstracted popiness of this record with the details of its complexities. Itâ'¬'¢s the way that he produces so playfully, breaking rules that others could not and involving the listener in a way that very few producers are able that hooked us in. It wasnâ'¬'¢t until the mastering studio that we discovered differently tuned bass drums panned to one side then another, a wash of reverb squeezed hard into only one channel and numerous tiny recorded vocal samples. The EP opens with a layered crescendo build on clicks and a seething synth sound, 30 seconds of darkness explodes suddenly into pop hits, tempered with sub bass, set against a sampled and repitched vocal. From this point the EP bathes your brain in lush textures, surprising and explosive atmospheres set in unencountered, unearthly spaces, all somehow perfectly set against catchy rolling choruses informed by pop and commercial R&B.

His main focus when creating music is to capture the moment by using all kinds of instruments in a playful and intuitive way, experimenting with rhythms, sounds and melodies. His songs are ideas, emotions and thoughts that he tries to translate into music. »It's like speaking a language«, he says, »without knowing its grammar, still trying to fnd the right words.« Philipp is one half of the project Webermichelson - a two-piece band focused on merg-
ing Kraut and experimental music through drums, synths and guitars. "Circles" is the third single from Kate Tempest's Everybody Down, which is being hailed from all quarters as a masterpiece; a beguiling record that rewards its listener in spades. The Guardian called the album "A stunning literary treatise,' whilst Mojo said this "debut is one of the most unique, startling and powerful you'll hear.' A narrative hip hop album -a modern-day London fable- that is enhanced and subverted by Dan Carey's sculpted production. No more so is that encapsulated than on "Circles"!

Following on from the singles "The Beigeness" and "Lonely Daze", it is one of the few tracks that is outside the narrative of the album; both giving context to the story while drawing on the universal themes of love, loss, returning, regret and truth that the album explores. With its whirring, intense beats and Kate's lyrical turn of phrase and imagery being at their sharpest, it is one of the most exciting tunes on the record. Witness the gorgeous description in the opening verse "My heart's...Trying to start wars on the bus / Dumb chunk of a muscle with its claws out / Throwing its oars out the dinghy in the middle of a gale / Making whirlpools the way I chase my tail." and be blown away. The Guardian claimed that live "Circles blossoms from paranoid playground chant to fully fledged club anthem."

The single will include remixes by Micachu and Mike Skinner, underlining how exhilarating this track is. It manages to be darkly atmospheric, joyful and redemptive, everyday and ephemeral, visceral and true - all at the same time.

Itäväylä's driving power Randy Barracuda is best known from Finnish electro bass duo Imatran Voima (Telle) as well as acclaimed Keys of Life floor filler Cae$ar (Life12in-9). On Black Diamond Express Randy gets together with three guitarists, bass and a synth and the result is an incredible beer smelling boogie train Itäväylä. Itäväylä combines machine reinforced monotonic psycho rock on the track of Spacemen 3 and Motörhead with straight Texas trailer park boogie. Black Diamond Express is based on a twisted accapella taken from a found tape of 50's gospel ceremony. B-side is a remix by Jori Hulkkonen.

KRAKE is an annual Berlin based festival for challenging electronic music. Krake means - octo- pus' and the festival is organised in a comparable way: reaching out to selected locations during one week presenting the best in electronic music whatever style it is. The festival is not huge, not expensive, does not have big sponsoring deals or four different colour are passes. It's just a good and so far successful try to bring back the focus on artists who dare to step off the beaten tracks.
KRAKE 002 contains mostly exclusive tracks of artists who played at the Krake festival in 2013. The A-side starts with a dark ambient drone by DÄMMERN, followed by a pop-fueled two-step hit by PHON.O. Next in line is Irishman EOMAC with a warm and deep IDM track already char- ted by none less than Thom Yorke of Radiohead, followed by - Resolution', a little melancholic stepper by BILL YOUNGMAN.
The B-side is being opened with a techno track by grandmaster MONOLAKE in his most typical dubby percussive style. For the next track FRANK BRETSCHNEIDER reduces the sounds to the max again to deliver a percussive track as minimalistic as can be. Legendary techno producer CRISTIAN VOGEL, known for his constant search for new values, closes the compilation with an avantgarde piece of noise and drones.

Mundo Recordings proudly presents the new album release "Being Human Being"! A new collaboration between Erik Truffaz and Murcof, with a special artwork by Enki Bilal.

Art is the product of singular vision, but singularity is often enhanced when the 'artist' is plural. Swiss trumpeter Erik Truffaz has worked with Mexican-born sound artist Murcof (originally Fernando Corona) since 2006 when they worked as a trio with Talvin Singh. That fruitful relationship brought together Truffaz's investment in modern jazz (he has been that archetypal thing, a Blue Note artist), a sharp ear for the new discoveries of contemporary composers like Giya Kancheli and others in the eclectic world of new music, and developed a creative conversation with the world of noise, glitch and spectral electronics that is the abode, though by no means isolated abode of Murcof, who is an arch-collaborator, the kind of artist who seems most himself when in dialogue with others. That relationship was suddenly broadened and lent fresh intensity when in 2012 Truffaz met the charismatic Enki Bilal, painter, illustrator and creator of the 'Nikipol' sequence, an man who can conjure a whole world with a few strokes of pen or brush, and imply a whole narrative in a facial expression or modification of the body. It was inevitable that when these men came together, that extraordinary work would ensue. That work is the multi-form piece BeingHumanBeing, which exists as recorded event, as film collage and as the basis - the score, if one likes - of further performances. Its subject matter is clearly stated in the title. If homo sapiens is a singularity in planetary evolution, these are the men best qualified to peer over that event horizon and into the strange world that is our collective future.

Laurent Wery' s clubhit Hey Hey Hey has been around for over a year in clubs all over the world. The track gets a refix with the appealing vocals of DEV (known from the hit "like a G6" by Far East Movement).

A dusty Korg organ is powered on in an old Texas dancehall, while the jukebox plays 30 yrs of number ones. There is a stage but no one is on it. Soft Vision is Brad Barr and Kelly Winchester, of Austin, TX, and they are responsible for the hit song "Feel It Coming On."

This is the long awaited comeback of the gang of five - dscrd - to their first home - DEMENT3D. Grammy and Ivor Novello award winning recording artist Imogen Heap will release her highly anticipated 4th solo album 'Sparks'.

Says Heap, 'The album began with someone sending in the sound of a striking match for what became Lifeline in March 2011. I then dived into the most immense, intense creative 2 and a half years of my life that took me all over the planet, collaborating on so many projects with so many people and often totally spontaneously. From the River Thames (You Know Where To Find Me) to 5000 feet up in the Himalayas (Climb to Sakteng, Cycle Song), from her local community garden (Neglected Space) to 6 weeks in the Chinese metropolis of Hangzhou (Xizi She Knows), Heap was soaking it up, writing, developing, recording and producing. Next up is 'Outside In' bridging the gap between EDMX style electro-funk & Gescom-style glitch. On the flip we are presented with 'Lever', a broken techno track of the highest calibre, chopped snares and a off-kilter acid line whipped together to devastating effect while the EP's coda, 'In Wait' combines a kaleidoscope of beats transported through an ambient techno mainframe before fading into oblivion.

Sounding like no other, this new artist makes his mark with clean rhythmic programming set against dirty compressed textures. The first in a series of releases; expect to hear a lot more from Spaces.

It's an exhaustive, beautifully captured record of the show. The audio and video were recorded and filmed at The Roundhouse in London and in the incredible Pula Arena, a genuine Roman Amphitheatre.

Dr Z caught a bug for dubbing techniques working on his Black Acre album "Grupo Zygote".
He started messing around with beats he'd made, creating dub versions of them. This is the first example. Smack Dub is engineered to knock you out, DXM Dub takes you on a strange journey. This is dropping on a limited (100 copies only) hand stamped, dinked 45 in a spray stencilled sleeve.

It's hard to know where to start with JT The Goon. At Oil Gang we pride ourselves on trying to retain a bit of grit and guile in our releases, and finding producers who have something genuine about them and their music. After releasing the Coolie Joyride EP last year it was difficult to find something that was worthy of coming next- how do you follow up finding and releasing a long-lost classic like that

JT The Goon has a chequered history as a producer. Though we didn't know him until early last year, he's someone who's always been a part of grime, working and engineering in the background. Once a part of the legendary Slew Dem camp (Waifer, Spooky, Top Dollah), he'd produced and engineering beats we'd known for years without any recognition; unsung pirate radio and DVD freestyle classics, lost and unacknowledged. After striking out on his own a few years ago, we were left with the somewhat daunting task of trying to get an EP out of literally hundreds of beats, album's worth after album's worth- a decade's work.

After putting some his beats to the test at Boxed and creating a couple of minor anthems in the process, we've eventually whittled the EP to what we feel is the best representation of JT's sound; someone who's been shaping the scene from the inside out for years with no credit or recognition.

Playing a major role on both the 'Programmed V1.0' and 'Programmed V2.0' EPs, it was only a matter of time before EastColors released a full single with Program. Naturally, he's stepped up. And he's done so with two prize-fighting productions.
'Toys' is a one-way ticket to the furthest boundaries of the cosmos. Warm pads purr while a frosty arpeggio twinkles and subtle guitar strums shimmer softly in the background. An ageless reminder of how delicate certain elements of D&B can be when conjured in the right hands, 'Toys' will instantly arrest your crowd's imagination. 'Creeper' sets a much darker agenda: Opening with oceanic synth washes, an unrelenting breakbeat looms ominously in the mix. Firing hi-hats take the lead before we're plunged into a cavernous drop where layers of irresistible bass envelop us. What follows is an industrial strength roller of junglist proportions. Referencing the past to lock fully into the future, this is EastColors at his most chiselled and uncompromising.

Russia's a hotbed for D&B talent right now, but few of its exports come close to EastColors in terms of creative skills and technical abilities. A crucial contributor to the label since its earliest incarnations: It's time, once again, to get with the Program!

Belfast's sex lies magnetic transposes it's latest tape release onto double wax, a dissonant collection of Willie Burns guises, a compilation of sounds falling in and around ambient, claustrophobic psychedelia, dark electronica and 4 a.m basement house.

Ibeyi are 19 year old French Cuban twins, Naomi and Lisa-Kainde Diaz. They are daughters of the late Cuban percussionist Anga Diaz. They sing in English and Yoruba, and have created a minimalist sound that merges elements of their heritage with their natural love of modern music as teenagers growing up in Paris, citing artists such as Frank Ocean, James Blake and King Krule amongst their wide range of influences. They are currently recording their debut album for XL, with Richard Russell on production.
