New Orleans' Hot 8 Brass Band toast their 20th Anniversary in typical roof-raising style, with a series of releases and live dates to celebrate this significant and incredibly hard-won milestone. At the centre is 'Vicennial - 20 Years Of The Hot 8 Brass Band', a special album mixing brand new tracks with newly recorded classic Hot 8 material, this jubilant LP finds the band on the form of their lives.

Across three albums - 2007's 'Rock With The Hot 8', 2012's Grammy-nominated 'The Life & Times Of ...' and 2013's 'Tombstone' - with a host of standout singles, including their iconic version of "Sexual Healing" alongside several other covers and equally impressive originals, Hot 8 Brass Band have told the story of their lives and their city like only they can.

One of the great New Orleans acts, Hot 8 have pushed on through a barely imaginable series of trials. The devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the separate deaths of four of their band members, and the horror of trumpeter Terrell "Burger" Batiste losing his legs in a car crash, conspired to test these men almost to breaking point. They honour their fallen friends and help to work towards the future of their community by putting their energies into positive projects at home as well as touring as much as they can. They march together and they play their music - a rambunctious yet elegant and super-tight mix of jazz, funk and hip hop - not merely as though, but because their lives depend on it.

The recording sessions for "Vicennial ..." saw Hot 8 Brass Band welcoming former members back into the studio, as well as featuring performances from family members of their fallen bandmates (from siblings through to grandparents), giving even more meaning and poignancy to each track, whether new or a revision of one of their classics. Across the album, the vibrant new recordings capture the spirit of a community and make a strong statement of the band's longevity, vitality and constant progress.

The multi-talented Vanese Smith aka Pursuit Grooves makes her debut on Deepblak under her new "91 Fellows" moniker.
After establishing herself in recent years with Pursuit Grooves outings heavy in beats and bass, Smith turns her talents to more open sonic landscapes. "91 Fellows" represents as she terms her push into Cinematic Dub leaning heavily on her collegiate film major roots. The project was inspired as a dedication to her grandfather who passed on in 2011. Through a myriad of ambient textures, and percussion she invites the listener to join her as she weaves through different emotional headspaces.
Six tracks that run like chapters of saga accompanied by two remixes by Deepblak Chief Alchemist YBEE, and resident Rhythm Czar Afrikan Sciences.

Jacques Renault delivers two rare and fiery original tracks for his second release on esteemed US label Public Release, complete with remixes from Velvet Season & The Hearts Of Gold plus a Force Of Nature remix.

'Silver Machines' is Public Release's eighth pressing and Renault's second of 2015. The double single comes packaged in a deluxe jacket designed by highly acclaimed visual artist Takeshi Murata (recently featured in the New York Times). It blasts off with the schizophrenic, brain-melting groove of 'Silver Machines' that zips through its five minute runtime thanks to the fantastic union of precise, frenetic drums and a rolling funk bass riff. The flip finds Velvet Season & the Hearts of Gold (Gerry Rooney of Black Cock and Joel Martin of Quiet Village) slipping the original a tab of acid and getting weird.

On disc two, 'Fromage à Trois' is rooted in industrial percussion that sits below an elastic hook, giving the cold drums a human warmth. Japanese dons of disco Force of Nature take a swing and wrap the package on a high note. Their mix pulls the motorik drums back, to make way for a hypnotic loop that evokes thoughts of OSTs from 80s teen flicks, the sort of stuff Tangerine Dream excelled at for a good while. The song fades out and Mr. Renault's auspicious return to Public Release ends as abruptly as it began. Let's hope chapter three takes less than five years to be written.

o+ Jacques Renault has been riding the waves of underground credibility for the past few years, initially renowned for being the master of the edit and releasing music on internationally acclaimed labels DFA, Permanent Vacation, RVNG, and Rekids, he has since become a producer in his own right, using samples as more of an adornment or starting point than a centerpiece.

o+o Tim Sweeney kicked off the Public Release release schedule back in 2009. They have since focused on quality rather than quantity with only eight releases in six years including recent contributions from Woolfy and Mike Simonetti.

Featuring 4 producers that cross musical spheres is the labels way and again roster members are handed the keys to the treasure while welcoming other, less unknown producers a chance to highlight their aural visions.
Starting with the ubiquitous Secret Circuit, here following up his blissed out releases for the label with a first remix. Respecting Luke's leftfield production, but layering his trademark guitar work with a motorik groove, distant harmonic bells and uplifting keys that bring the friends and producers music in a Balearic tandem.
This is followed with William Burnett's Black Deer alias taking the wonderful, but sadly short I Recommend Starman and coming up with an extended edit that allows this modern krautrock masterpiece to truly shine as it should. Simple yet perfect.
On the flip is Not Waving's Alessio Natalizia with a beautiful take on the loved-up, R&B meets Aphex MDMA rush of Time For Thick. Totally replaying the song himself, it is the light industrial percussion and repeating keys that take the track on a journey to the skies.Finally then, the EP comes back down to earth and closes with new label member, Australia's mysterious Tropical Hi-Fi. Taking the brooding ambience of The Music Hear At Sea World And Never Forget and turning in a drone meets field-recording masterwork.

Based in Peckham, Tokyo Wax is a unified collection of creatives sharing an appreciation for a broad range of Electronic Music. Having refined their tastes and gathered experience through promotion and radio shows their focus has since shifted to releasing records and in doing so, providing a platform for auspicious piers to bloom. In the wake of the success of that inaugural record from label owners Presence and Persona they ready their carefully crafted return with the second installment coming courtesy of 20 year-old mastermind Circula backed up by Endeguena Mulu of Ethiopian Records on his first ever remix.

Levantis - the moniker of one of electronic music's serial innovators - will release his debut long player on 30th October 2015 via Technicolour Records (Ninja Tune's imprint for excursions into techno's shadowy fringes). The first Levantis output since 2013's Believe EP on Trilogy Tapes, the 11-track album entitled Romantic Psychology 1 is reportedly "about Nigredo and possession of the shadow".

Ninja Tune set up Technicolour as a singles label. After 12"s by Legowelt, Hieroglyphic Being, Florian Kupfer, Kutmah, BNJMN and U, Romantic Psychology 1 is the first full-length album the label has released.

Liquid G. (Liquid Garbage) is the project of EBM stalwart Peter van Bogaert from Melsele, Belgium. In 1987, he began to record music and self-release limited cassettes on his own label Liquid Produkts. Between 1987 and 1990, Peter composed over nine albums, in addition to a split release with Vomito Negro. Liquid G. made their first vinyl appearance on the 'Expo 87' 7' compilation, courtesy of Dirk Ivens' Body Records. 'Liquidation' is the first ever vinyl compilation of Liquid G.'s cassette recordings, taking you on a journey through the underground of the Belgian Electro Industrial scene. Each song was written, produced, recorded and performed by solely by Peter between 1987-1989. Liquid G. captures the DIY synth-punk ethos of Cabaret Voltaire, The Screamers, and Nervous Gender.

Take Me Babe became a big hit in Europe as Warp Record licensed the track and released it as a single in 1996.Here we have 3 versions of the track all recorded at the same session at Jimi's home in Union Avenue NYC in summer 1993. The Original Version first appeared on Tenor's debut album Sähkömies on Sähkö Recordings in 1994. Two other previously unreleased versions were recently found on the original session tape. Sun Ra cover Travellin Dem Spaceways was recorded in the same night too.

Nordic ice meets Spanish fire in the latest offering from Fine Grains Records collaboration series. 'Blåis' is a split EP featuring Norwegian skweee boss Beatbully and Barcelona-based machine funk don Fitzroy North. The release is complete with three distinct remixes by young Scottish grime producer Inkke, synthetic funk master Joe Howe (fka Ben Butler & Mousepad) and one of the finest contemporary beats producers this side of the Atlantic, Mwëslee. The artwork comes from Norwegian graphic artist Halvor Bodin. 'Blåis', one of over 100 Nordic words for snow and ice, occurs when snow falls on a glacier, is compressed, and becomes part of the glacier. Over the course of 8 tracks, Beatbully & Fitzroy North squeeze the maximum from their respective MPC & synth setups to deliver an unpretentious and fun mix of synthetic funk with a punch. Moments of minimality, sweet harmonies, bleeps, squeaks and bass are compressed into a gleaming crystallised form.

Tamed Monsters EP is an inaugural release of the new record label Pandora. New imprint will focus on ambient sounds, music for home-listening and unique artwork. The VA includes works from german producer Benedikt Frey, russian producers Shine Grooves, Unbroken Dub, and an ambient group Kurvenschreiber. Each artist offers a different sound, which lets the music evolve like a story and makes a nice combination of dreamy ambience and mesmerizing repetitive beats.

Kevin Palmer is someone the label has been in touch with and an admirer of for a long time now, and after acclaimed releases for Opal Tapes and Astro:Dynamics amongst others, we're thrilled to finally be able to put out some of his most uncompromising music yet. Headed up by the relentless metallic post punk of title track 'Neon Razer Chain', this EP moves effortlessly through experiments in billowing ambience, dubbed out machine jams and buzz saw techno, to make one of his most diverse releases to date. Wilde Calm Records is honored to present new work from the late Elodie Lauten, New York City composer and recipient of the 2014 Robert Rauschenberg Award. Lauten had been exploring microtonality and alternative temperament since working on a Fairlight CMI synthesizer in the early 1980s and up until her untimely death, had been continuing these explorations with the Klio, her custom modular Reaktor software synthesizer.

Many Wilde Calm fans will be familiar with Lauten's music from her numerous collaborations with fellow downtown luminary Arthur Russell. Lauten and Russell met through their mutual poet friend Allen Ginsberg and shared a similar sensibility of musical openness and possibility as evident in their spiritual club classic 'In the Light of the Miracle' and Russell's appearance on Lauten's seminal post- minimalist masterwork The Death of Don Juan.

Five remastered selections from her most recent album Transform feature on the EP in addition to a Wilde Calm remix. For fans of Laurie Spiegel and Suzanne Ciani, Lauten's synth explorations are essential.

Nite-Glo is the new offering from Stellar OM Source, the outré-minded music venture of Christelle Gauldi. Tempering the freneticism unleashed on Stellar OM Source's 2013 album Joy One Mile, Nite-Glo guides Gauldi's rhythms to unexpected places of emotive and meditative power. The four tracks of Nite-Glo were written during a transient time for Gauldi. Loss and processing the associated emotions informed those moments in which Gualdi could escape to her mobile studio set up. Recorded solely with her live hardware, Nite-Glo tears down any ornamental tapestry to uncover a core of luminescent synths, glowing 303 lines, and a burning awareness. Nite-Glo continues an off-script musical journey informed by Gualdi's formal training in electro-acoustic composition at the Conservatoire de Paris and an ascent from the DIY synth scene of the mid-aughts to a global dancefloor. Rewarding listeners keen on conscious listening, the passages of Nite-Glo crystalize as tracks unfurl and sequences reveal an absolute power over time. Transcending its cathartic context, Nite-Glo finds Christelle Gauldi abstracting the ebullience of Stellar OM Source's sound in favor of remote spaces and roiling tempos. A snapshot of Gualdi's personal and creative transition, Nite-Glo beams through a mournful context, visible only as eyes have adjusted in the shadows.

'B-Sides is a very special album for me, it compiles a beautiful period on my life with great memories, moments and feelings. The album is deeply influenced by the magnificence of Llançà and Cadaqués, two small villages from La Costa Brava where I spent long periods during the creation of this record. It's an easy way to get inspired between the middle ground of nature and wild spots - surrounded by the sea, sun and mountains.
My girlfriend showed me some nice places there and i quickly felt a spiritual and mystic connection with those parages. She has a very important role on this album, for example a track like "They Came From The Past" is dedicated to her. Pablie was my alter ego and more focused on my love for abstract/instrumental hip-hop, downtempo and folk. I think the LP reflects a kind of a hypnotic and lonely vibe, it's like a secret place inside your memories and dreams, something that you don't want to let go.'

Samaris Release "Silkidrangar Sessions" ist ein Nachfolger und Begleiter des letztjährigfen Albumdebüts "Silkidrangar" und beinhaltet überarbeitete Versionen des Originals, welche nun exakt ein Jahr später veröffentlicht werden. Samaris vereinen sehr ungleiche Elemente in ihrer Musik, die von elektronischen Sounds, über Klarinette bis hin zu Jófríður Ákadóttirs bezaubernder Stimme reichen. Samaris mischen kalte Elektronik mit gewagten, perkussiven Beats und eindringlichen Vocals, welche isländischen Gedichten des 19. Jahrhunderts entnommen wurden. Einen Großteil des letzten Jahres verbrachte die Band auf Tour und spielte Festivals wie Roskilde, Green Man, Reeperbahn, Longitude, etc. Die "Silkidrangar Sessions" wurden über zwei Tage in Reykjavík aufgenommen, und es wurden diverse Gastmusiker eingeladen, welche Instrumente wie Tabla Drums, Cello, Saxophon oder modulare Synthesizer einbrachten.

Dritter und letzter Teil der "CARGAA" EP-Trilogie auf Warp, die der Underground-Grime-Szene von Lissabon gewidmet ist, wo junge Produzenten polyrhythmische Inspiration aus der Afro-Diaspora zu einer elektronischen Clubmusik-Mutation verarbeiten. Der Begriff "CARGAA" kommt aus dem Straßenslang Lissabons und bedeutet "heiß", "geil". 12" mit bedruckten Innentaschen plus Downloadcode.

Ssaliva hails from the historic city of Liège in the Francophone, Walloon part of Belgium. Formerly, he has released music under the monikers Cupp Cave and François Boulanger on labels such as Leaving Records (Stones Throw) and Vlek. This album shifts between two poles. The track Guilt might be the prime answer of the first: simple, though intricately beautiful, chopped-off melodies chasing each other through different octaves. Vntitled is the clearest example of the other: soothing ambient synth phrases in an ever-slightly-changing repetition. How sweet it is to be acoustically disoriented. All this accounts for the album's surprisingly gripping sensitivity, its strong emotional cargo. From the gentle offbeat strokes of the first track to the haunting Who Then Now with its incessant screeching wobbling around, the listener is confronted with joy, solace and sadness. Structurally Be Me could sound like a succession of Indian raggas - albeit very short ones - with the first four tracks associated to the daytime (sunrise, noon, afternoon, late evening) and the remaining tracks with the nighttime (until the break of day). Dream Dive (track 4) is the first to introduce minor chords, classically linked to melancholy, while the electronic sea crashing onto the shore from tracks 2 and 3 is still there, but much calmer now, and ephemeral wind chimes play hide and seek in the ambient sky. After the volta, the next track, Staves, introduces a totally different pallette with the album's first bass sound, electronic water trickling down somewhere, and what sounds like metal works going on a yet much lower level than the basement you've just arrived at.

UC005 is music for sideways times when down is up and up is down. Golden Round Circus and I Couldn't Fool Around No More are spiritual kin to Michael Wynn Band's Dark Night and Straight Shooter's Frame of Mind Chugging, cosmic AOR by heads for heads. Golden Round Circus elevates the mind with hypnotic synth and I Couldn't Fool Around No More soars on open drum breaks, guitar solos and multitracked harmonies.
Nobody knows what's really going down with the mysterious Viking known as The Keeper. Here's what we know: The Keeper is Swedish, has some previous work in Nemas Problemas on Fasaan Recordings, and an upcoming release on Passport to Paradise. Robert Crash is an alias of Italian DJ and producer Fransesco Schito and now he makes a debut outing on Creme Organization with a tidy four track EP. In the past he has turned up on Dog In The Night Records, and with these cuts lays out his singular take on outlier house and techno. Up first is 'Gigolo', a spare and weird house cut with sine waves and random claps, hunched drums and trippy synth lines. It's a unique track made in a unique way and will lead to plenty of freaky dance floor moments, for sure. 'Co. Art' is a whacked out techno cut with slap-funk claps, blistering and blistered synth lines and a rugged bit of bass underlining it all. The track is cavernous and metallic, empty and distant as if it somehow survived a nuclear blast. On the flip, 'Alzheimer' is a slow and gurgling, swampy techno number with broken drums and crawling synths that sound like their batteries have run down. Icy, watery melodies eventually rain down, but the track remains resolutely eerie. Last of all, 'Fabric' is another decaying track with subtle, heavily filtered synths and drums all making for a minimal groove that is barely there. This is heavily deconstructed music that sounds like little else out there and may well be the start of a very fast rise through the ranks for Robert Crash.
