15 years of PRSPCT is nothing to be taken lightly... 12 tracks by 29 PRSPCT artists. For sure THE Drum & Bass/Hardcore/Breakcore album of 2017!

For her third outing on the German label Jahmoni, Marcelle is as inventive and unpredictable as ever. The four tracks on the wittily titled 'PSALM TREE' EP go from wild techno to abstract dub, and all bear that undefinable 'Marcelle' touch of freedom and imagination, which sets the DJ/producer so apart from almost all of her younger peers. The ever-travelling Dutch lady, who was one of the highlights of this year's 'Nyege Nyege Music Festival' in Uganda, toys with musical styles and expectations, both live and in the studio, she has always deejayed more or less like a musician. This was amongst others recognised by Faust founder member Hans-Joachim Irmler, who between 2008 and 2014 released 4 Marcelle albums on his Klangbad label.

Opener 'TO EVACUATE IS DIFFICULT AND INFREQUENT' is a deranged techno stomper, bristling with crazy, desperate sounds. Only halfway during the track these voices make 'sense': the track deals with the problem of constipation, and offers near the end a possible solution. As a dubplate this track is heavily tested on the dancefloor and, eh, 'dropped' very well.

'TO REVEAL THE SECRET', an abstract dub work-out with an eerie feeling, samples the voice of one of her favourite actors, the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.

'WALKING AROUND AIMLESSLY', the longest track on the EP, is just as swinging as it is weird. The relaxed whistling over the treated sounds that drop in and out, make for a both happy and strange stroll into unknown territory.

'TO SING ALONG' combines heavy bass with an addictive synth melody and is a short, energetic closer of the EP, which once again shows Marcelle's instinct for both the dancefloor and the avant garde.

The record's curious title 'PSALM TREE' hints at Marcelle's love for palm trees, hot weather and reading books (although not necessarily religious texts, contradictions and odd combinations are never far away in Marcelle's work!) The artwork of the record is as colourful as on all her releases. On stage and on her records Marcelle transcends a sense of openness and a feeling of freedom, which has her described as 'totally enriching', 'a true ear opener', a real 'pioneer'.

Anthone and Katsunori Sawa team up again under their BOKEH alias delivering a 12" single on The Weevil Neighbourhood.

On A side "Lancashire", BOKEH explore the realms of Drum & Bass tempo challenging the how-low-can-you-go with extremely deep subs while "Fast Fiver" on the B side doubles up on your regular 4/4 while on a heavy dub chord's leash.

The release comes on black vinyl. The center label artwork is done by Lee Noble (No Kings Records/ Bathetic).

Secodn track is a sweet shy volumed kick at 220 BPM still...And third A side track, Lobotomie Croissante is an obsessional Industrial broke npsychedelic track, a bit in the Olschool little 7'' witch i cant remember the name of^^ B side opens on Mutation, a 170 BPM speed techno/trie dark tune very new wavy ambiance... Special and precise ! Then comes an ambient dark indus tune called Ondes Robotiques. Terminal is a break electronica hard tune, in a AFX Ant-zenized style. Terminal is the name... good anme to close this EP. A record in a rare style nawadays , offering a real variety of unformated sounds, not so hard but still hard enough to be dancefloor ! MASTERPIECE !!

8ball is part of the Grade10 record label who has been popping up on Radar Radio and NTS Radio over the last few years. This is 8balls first release proper on Grade10 and it comes hot on the heels of the All You See Is Crime In The City cassette. 8balls rare appearances behind the decks have included Outlook Festival and Broken Sonics at Corsica Studios.

This Ep contain five tunes which cover ambient, jungle and hardcore. They all come ladened with overdubbed compression and bins rattling bass apart from Sepia is a jungle tune with only the synths left in. Tun3 and Maker are both short intense blasts, while Stages is classic jungle and So Good is reminiscent of late 91 hardcore.

"Another spot on the map of the Weevil Neighbourhood: after our latest excursion into the intensely droney yet fragile and unstable musique concrete of Repetition/Distract's 'Old Weevil Neighbourhood' (Cat.No: PICNIC), we continue mapping the terrain with our eyes closed and our ears wide open.
BLINDFOLD (Cat.No) comes as a mid-tempo two-tracker from an artist who wants to stay anonymous. A side 'All Those Colours...' is a Dubtechno inspired piece that contrasts its laid-back soundscapes with a broken beat and hectic highhats that converge with large rooms of reverberation. '...We Cannot See', the counterpart on side B, contrasts static drumwork with shuffling breaks and early hardcore sounds with noisey drones that cold-warmly cover more or less the whole piece.

This is a good record, really like no other : With 1 breakcore 1 Hardtek 2 Hardcore you'll have here a real overview on open midned Evreux Dancefloor styles. Pleasant to hear, and nice to see, that's a ncie one !

Tri-P goes Breakcore. Artikal sounds with one side Blearg and one side Low Enthropy. Blearg side first : 2 Drills jazzy tunes at the crossroad of Ambush and Venetian Snares... Influences are clear and the Speed Drum is never too far. The second tune is more original, offering a Funky 80's Breakcore side witch have been rarely done : Genesis power ! .... B side is Low Enthropy... Here we enter the industrial side of the Breakcore. With 3 tunes this time. First track is quiet smooth actually, very melodious and close to Emotional Joystick style. Second track is completly what you can expect from Low Enthropy : industrial bombing beats and breaks raffales... Last tune goes more 8-bit and LFO Demon style. Superb little pearl : my favourite tune on this record. Always good to finish on a pearl:) BIG One, original and offering a real variety of styles... BIG !

Exit Records bring a new project to the table with a collaboration between Consequence and Joe Seven. Consequence made his debut on Exit in 2009 with his highly acclaimed album 'Live For Never' capturing the attention of electronica fans world-wide with his organic and unique take on Drum n Bass. Also having been a staple part of the Autonomic camp since day one, he's slowly but surely developing his sound and delving deeper into the unknown. This time he teams up with another new Exit artist Joe Seven (who has an imminent solo single) and together they have created the They Live alias to showcase what happens when these two minds meet in the studio.The album is very much intended to be listened to in the order it has been presented, as a whole body of music meant to capture your senses and lead you across a soundscape of atmospheres, textures, differing tempos and a variety of percussion elements.In the same way as a silent movie can stimulate your sense of hearing, Cancel Standard does the opposite like an imageless movie, giving you the soundtrack and letting you imagine your own visual elements. Each track sets its own scene that is part of the bigger picture, creating a body of music that can offer the listener detachment from their immediate surroundings and escapism into an alternate reality.

Nervus VIII-I is a compilation of 5 tracks from 3 different artists; Squeaky Lobster (Brussels), Jerk (Lille), Hellboy (DenHaag-Brussels). Nerve System Records doesn't like to label the music into genres or put them in boxes, but if we really have to describe it: A mixture of eclectic style; soulful electronica, IDM, melodic breakcore & dark,industrial electro.

Leading up to the release of their next album, Tribazik return with the remx EP 'Spacetime Collapse', featuring remixes from such electronic royalty as Venetian Snares. Tribazik are no newcomers to the spotlight. Having supported influential post punk band Killing Joke on their European tour and having previously enjoyed reviews from Rock Sound, Kerrang and Terrorizer on their last album 'All Blood Is Red', mixed by Andy Gill, of Gang Of Four, the band are establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Band members Hedge Seel, Jerry Kandiah and Syan Barlow have each earnt their music industry colours. Jerry runs the infamous Old Street studios, Syan's last band Interlock released the critically acclaimed album 'Crisis//Reinvention' on Anticulture records in 2004, and Hedge's intricate drum solos are enough to make a session player wet himself.
The EP is a rock-electronic fusion, that takes Jungle drum patterns and Acid Techno bleeps and puts them together with menacing bass guitar riffs and distorted electric guitars. The original mix's intro greets us with tribal like drum fills and inspired bass guitar finger picking. Energetic vocals from Jerry soar over the percussion and bass, whilst Hedge's intense live drum work can't help but impress - it's complexity immediately intrigues. Electric guitars enter sporadically mingling side by side with acid squelches. A daring fusion pulled off. Coming to the first remix, we have Venetian Snares' interpretation. VSnares, as he is sometimes known, is a man who needs little introduction, having received praise from industry icons such as John Peel and having released on Planet Mu, for the last 12 years. Here he dishes out a 5 minute workout of insane amen break madness. This is perfectly complemented by drilling bass hits and vocal samples. The sheer complexity of the drum programming is astonishing.
Next up - Chris Liberator and Sterling Moss provide an Acid techno remix.
Having built up a solid reputation in the world of Acid Techno, the pair have
been selling out shows in; Australia, Japan and Brazil. Taking the bass
guitar and putting it behind a marching bassline, the production duo
then build up in insistency and urgency into an acid frenzy. Kenny Parish, AKA Ghost, offers up a gorgeously filthy remix. Drum beats
and percussion simmer away. Then we launch into full on chopped up live jungle break samples, courtesy of Hedge Seel. Meanwhile Ghost pumps gallons of throbbing bass into the mix - Top notch

LFO Demon... Has always been an artist I enjoyed... remember his « Rave For Communism »... And here he comes back. SO lets check seriously what we talk about. A-side brings a speedjungle gabba 8bit raving piece called Asgard Arkanoid... Classic LFO Demon hysterical sound ! B-side brings more Dub... Oups... Don't talk too fast... Here come the Speedjungle rave again ! Ahahah ^^ Dubstep detsroyer !

Split Album with one side Live from Candy Hanks. The Patrick Catani side is a joyfull crazy electro killer, dancefloor and fully musical. Sound is perefect in spitre it's a a LiveSet. B-side from Blenno Die Wurstbrucke Povera Sound brings some tunes made from Toybending and home made electronics instruments, pushing sounds and noises to chaos... bringing the industrial noise transe.

A new spot on the neighbourhood's map: After the subtle as well as intimidating sounds of Steven Porter's "LR EP", Anthone brings back the broken beats to the Weevil Neighbourhood. The "Aloof EP", codenamed and catalogue numbered "GRIDS", comes as yet another three tracker of mid tempo excursions into low end territory. Stumbling drumwork, razorsharp percussion and uncanny dronesounds meet what's left of Dub.

(Very) black vinyl, hand-stamped and -numbered, limited to 300 copies for the world including 50 copies with special artwork.

This project came to fruition some time last year when I flew from Manchester out to Rotterdam for the PRSPCT XL event, the same night I was booked to play PRSPCT was the same night Tristan (Author & Punisher) was to play his Manchester debut, I'd created the flyers for the event being run by Endtyme records, and was a little gutted I was going to miss him, Bong Ra explained he'd been short of booking him for the same PRSPCT event and we both discovered we'd approached Tristan about doing a remix of his tracks, I'd been given Flesh Ants and Jason was given terrorbird, being the fans of the obscure Jason and I are, we where delighted to hear we'd both be working on a remix each, we then approached Tristan again and explained we'd love to do a collaborative remix, 5 tracks later we had an EP, we then approached Lynn enduser as he was just about to re-launch Sonic Terror recordings and explained his
interest in the project, also being a fan of the obscure, and here you have it, this project started in the summer of 13 and now after nearly a year we're proud to present the full EP.

Acid Diaper as he was descriped by the PRSPCT crew earlier this year: There is quite some mystery surrounding this 'new' producer. Even us at PRSPCT HQ have no idea who he is and where he is from. He has chosen to keep his identity secret to the world. Kind of like Batman but instead of fighting bad people this vigilante's goal is to terrorize the world with pure Audio Violence. 4/4, Acid, Gabber DnB designed to torture the average mainstream music listener.
However, us deranged individuals at PRSPCT HQ fucking love it and can assure you.. His tunes rock out hard!!!

Technosound inna breakcore structure... And Breakcore sounds inna Techno structure... and finally you get lost : you don't even knwo what you are listeing too... After his superb EP on Deathsucker, Foxdye is back on Autoproduction on his own label. Small quantities (import US). Superb record !
