When we came across Taylor for the first time at On The Edge, we were all extremely excited about the amazing music we heard! Melodic sound spaces of sheer genius is how I would describe the sound that is Taylor.
Taylor is part of the Wigflex crew that includes the likes of Spam Chop and The Hizatron. These guys have got some serious sounds cooking in the kitchen!
The sound is Techno influenced Dubstep at its finest and Taylor is definitely one to watch for 2010.

The cream of the Exceptional roster meets a top flight selection of name remixers. "From Disco to Dubstep" is a wide ranging electronic exploration which joins many of the dots in an ever mutating series of scenes. Released as part of the label's 10th anniversary celebrations, the release features an eclectic selection of 16 remixes of artists that currently call Exceptional home.

Touching on disco, lounge, electronica, house, electro, breaks and dubstep, amongst the familiar names are Mock & Toof's exuberant, 80's-tinged deep house remix of Plej's "Borderline", impressive deep 4/4 action from Jimpster with his remix of "Awakening" , Tom Middleton's up for it remix of "All Over Again" by Blu Marten, the bazooka-bass dubstep of The Rogue Element with his remix of Nursery of Naughtiness' "Electrified", Reso and Raffertie trading punches, and Planas' drastically different electronica restyling of Culprit 1's "Screamer". And the soulful dubby rework of Tubbs' "New Way of Life" by Marlinspike (aka hot property Red Rack'em/Hot Coins), featuring the chocolatey vocals of Joe Dukie from Fat Freddy's Drop.

The release is backed by a full on PR campaign from Rocketscience and reviews are expected in all major dance mags and online sites. It's one helluva collection and comes in a special mirrorboard wallet.

From our Producer No.2 album we've selected dbridge's slo-mo d'n'b production 'ZX81' for two very special treatments. The remixes are from Shed & Ramadanman. Berlin's Shed is a consumate producer & engineer of techno reknowned for his explorations into dub on labels like Ostgut, Hardwax & his own Soloaction. Here he works dbridges track into a stunning, brooding monster of a track driven by a gloriously filthy sub-bass and alleviated with an uplifting skeewed synth breakdown. The remix brings together elements of techno, dubstep, & d 'n' b in formiddable fashion. ...An absolute killer! On the flip Ramadanman drops a typically accomplished piece, fusing styles to dramatic effect. After recent heavyweight releases on Hemlock & Aus he once again comes correct working a heavy block percussive rhythm wrapped around sublime bass drops and intensified by motorised keys for a true heads-down effect. Both tracks have been favoured and played by Martyn, Scuba, Peverlist, James Blake, Actress & Instra:mental. Not forgetting that we've had the vinyl mastered and cut at Dubplates and Mastering, so you know the spirit is in the groove.

J-Wow aka Joao aka Lil Jon is the main producer of Buraka Som Sistema

Second release for the young Dutch act Sinister Souls, following a debut on Excision's Rottun. These two 'Borderline' tracks are of the slow-moving, heavy and scraping dubstep kind, and somewhat shows well how the whole dark d'n'b sensibilities can translate into this genre.

On the title track 'Conversea' the singer, producer and labelowner Taprikk Sweezee unfolds his ~irresistible soulvocals on top of dark bassgrounds and crispy broken beats

A whirlwind of controversy surrounds the talent of Borgore and its not hard to understand why. You could describe him as the marmite of Dubstep! His relentless basslines will rip your stomach apart, but don't be fooled by the in your face music that is Borgore. He is a very talented producer and by taking the time to listen to his music, you can hear that this man is a talented musician and knows his way around the studio.

On the Edge have been on form of late and have had some cracking releases. The DFRNT album late 2009 was arguably one of the best albums to surface from the Dubstep scene that year and crossed into paths some Dubstep artists have never entered. The Scottish born IDM producer that is DFRNT is pure talent and this release shows you just how consistent his music is. 3 tracks that should be food to sooth!

For the third instalment of the OpenEarz journey through the full spectrum of dubstep sounds, Dom Hz supplies a diverse 3 track EP showcasing his technically gifted production and representing his broad music tastes. Mist opens the EP with warm pads and enchanting atmospherics. The intro sets the pace, but doesn't prepare you for the plunging drop and sub bass pressure! This is a high calibre skanker with a weightline ready to test any system! Easing nicely into the flipside Dom constructs infectious jazz melodies and lounge vibes for Elevator Skank, bringing through influences from house, jungle and dub to create a warm roller, definitely a summer vibes track!
