Prague based FM Label connects music, fashion and design. Established in 2020 by Uncalled 4, the label joins the flourishing scene of Prague with a vision of music in which the new revisits the old. The second release, Enough, comes from our very own Detente 2020 - the killer combo of Uncalled 4 and his studio partner and close friend, Universe Of Everything. Featuring NYC hip hop legend Afu-Ra and Charlie One on the vocals, the eponymous track Enough combines iconic 90's street rap with contemporary electronic sounds, presenting a scenic layer that provides a movie-like feeling. The EP also features the Czech Filharmony drummer Jakub Tengler, who jammed buckets, pots, pipes and any other unusual object at his reach to create the heavily percussive Bucket Tube. Norway's Fett Burger takes Bucket Tube on a ride through NYC with his 'Work Out' remix, providing the ever-astonishing impression of walking around the streets of the Big Apple. Olsvang?r remix of Enough is designed to smash the dancefloor. Heavily influenced by both the past and the present, his rework shifts between intelligence and sheer rawness. As a final touch, the release is accompanied by an acapella track that will also be found on future FM label releases. Enough EP comes in a special cardboard sleeve which can be reshaped into a vinyl display holder.

This delicate 15-track project siphons talent from across the globe. The outcome is a collaboration of 30 like-minded artists in unusual, yet intriguing pairs. Luca Lozano spent the 2020 lockdown sharpening his tools, using the time off from traveling and DJing to re-center and re-vise. As the pace of life slowed, so did the BPMs and the Klasse Wrecks boss sought refuge in the distraction that the studio and the creative practice can offer. 'Lozano 2.0' may sound like the producer shifting down a gear, but probably only with the goal of preserving his energy until the world is ready to spin again.

Delsin turns its attention to the archives of one of the great early pioneers of Dutch techno - Eevo Lute Muzique. The label was founded in 1991 by Wladimir Manshanden and Stefan Robbers (who was already recording seminal early techno records as Terrace for Djax-Up-Beats). Channeling the inspiration of the Detroit originators and mixing it up with their own synth pop and new wave influences, Manshanden and Robbers (adopting the Florence alias) forged a bold aesthetic with Eevo Lute, both musically and visually. This was an early iteration of techno as listening music, with an emphasis on expression and narrative over dancefloor functionality, helped in no small part by Manshanden's striking poetry. This double set of remastered, reissued tracks gathers together the earliest Florence and Wladimir M. material, largely recorded between 1991 and 1994, across five discs - the definitive document of a treasured piece of Dutch techno history. Comes with inlay and liner notes by Oliver Warwick.

Biographers of Norman Cook should look no further than the title of this--his second album under the pseudonym Fatboy Slim. From humble beginnings as the bass player in prole rock band The Housemartins, through chart-topping fame with Beats International, and even a spell scraping a meagre living from writing computer game soundtracks in the early 90s, Norman Cook has done it all. You've Come A Long Way, Baby, though, is the Fatboy's culmination, the quintessential, and utterly essential big-beat album. The Rockafeller Skank is a manic collage of surf-guitar looped into ever-tightening spirals, utterly simplistic, but a work of devilish genius. Gangster Tripping and Fucking In Heaven are in a similar celebratory mood, but to prove that the Fatboy doesn't always work by a formula, try the purloined gospel of Praise You, or the rave nostalgia of Acid 8000. Sotto Voce is a new project from duo Luke Fowler & Vikki Morton, commissioned by Glasgow gallery The Modern Institute in collaboration with record label Redstone Press.

The EP considers the relationship between the natural world and technology and references the pedagogical work of artist Paul Klee, who taught a holistic course on drawing at the Bauhaus in the 20's. Klee drew greatly on shapes, forms and cyclical patterns, studied and observed from nature.

The minimalism of Sotto Voce's "Klee" shares these pre-occupations, but applies them to synthetic rhythms and timbres with the use of an EML 101 Analogue Modular Synthesizer, creating haunted dub mutations, foreboding ambience and melancholic meanderings in a piece of work that reflects the dark and barren Argyle landscape in which it was composed.

The EP also features a guest spoken word vocal by artist Charlotte Prodger who conjures a meditation on Neolithic archeological findings on the Western Isles of Scotland.

Every so often an album emerges from an artist that most likely did not realize when they were composing how timely the results would be, and Lofi Dimensions is exactly that kind of record. It doesn't really matter why it's coming when it is, what's important is that it's here, offering peace to the perturbed and inspiration for the downcast. The American Dollar have long been one of those artists operating in a kind of middle ground, a band with a long history of creating moving instrumental rock that has somehow avoided ever becoming synonymous with modern American post-rock acts. They retain a sort of autonomy in a valued position just outside the boundaries of classification. Blending electronic textures with moving guitar and keyboard melodies, their music has always traveled somewhere in the spaces between trip-hop, electronic, post-rock and ambient, and this inability to be defined is ultimately what sets them apart from the trappings of genre, allowing them to be whatever they want The American Dollar to be in a given moment, always on their terms.

Frustrated with UK club music's current fixation with tempo, London based artist Kouslin's '2020 Vision' EP delivers four cutting edge, high energy clubs tracks that hover around the 100bpm mark. Drawing on both dancehall influences and the productions of artists such as Harmonic 313 / Mark Pritchard and The Bug, Kouslin carves his own vision for a new decade in UK club music where fine tuned low frequencies and a slower pace can deliver maximum impact.

When he's not working at London's Phonica Records, Kouslin runs the Le Chatroom record label and has a regular slot on London's Balamii radio.

Does it end where these prostheses begin?

Jay Glass Dubs’ Soma (“body” in Greek) is a palimpsest. Look closely and you can find all sorts of DNA microarrays on the body’s skin – Bristol voices, Detroit electro hums, the amen break, the all-encompassing dub haze – but, as with all palimpsests, they are simultaneously one and a multitude. The body lives, its prostheses live.

Jude Greenaway is an audio/visual artist with a style deeply rooted in the various strands of Hip Hop culture. He has been releasing records since the turn of the 21st century but has been on the scene for much longer, honing his crafts from his base in East London. Not constrained to releasing one style of music, Jude has released interesting and engaging Electro, Techno, Ambient, Dubstep, Jungle and Breakbeat music across several key imprints including his own Yellow Machines and Modified Magic.

When Exalt Records approached Jude for a release in Spring 2019, it was always going to be a continuation of our exploration of the 7” format. Jude has delivered two killer Jungle / Breakbeat bombs, sounding total fresh and retro in equal measures. 7” Orange vinyl with art postcard insert by Dave Hanal.

Following a string of bag-on-site releases on leading 140 labels White Peach, Pearly Whites and his own No More Mailouts, Sir Hiss debuts on K-LONE’s label Wych with a pair of fresh 140 anthems. WYCH004 sees his signature sound on full display and at its best: all driving subs, skittish beats and N64-indebted earworm melodies. The record closes with a hyper-melodic K-LONE remix.

Reissue of the fourth Skinshape LP ‘Filoxiny’.
Skinshape is the project of British musician, William Dorey. The sound has roots in many genres, but in particular 1960s-70s Funk, Soul, Reggae, Psychedelic Rock, Afrobeat and Folk. Skinshape grew out of a love for old music and the way it sounded. Initially Dorey experimented with samples (especially drum breaks) to create instrumental hip-hop/trip-hop tracks, but then later started to play around with tape machines as a means to create his own 'samples'. This process gave birth to Skinshape, with all elements being recorded by Dorey since the first self-titled album, released in 2014. He released his second album Oracolo in 2015, and in 2017 he released his third album 'Life & Love.' Aside from the Skinshape project, Dorey was bassist for the band Palace from 2014-2017, and also runs a reggae label called Horus Records, based in North London.

Despite the many years still ahead of him, Rone has already come a long way, being one of the most acclaimed young French musicians on the electronic scene.
