Moving from KF to K, the Death To Digital series continues its run of eclectic and ecstatic music, showcasing various artists at their very peak. This time we get an old skool piano lick from maestro Ant To Be with “Give Me”, an almost modern sounding chaotic cut from Kingsize with the inexplicably named “Wormz”, a cheekily new skool and furious breakbeat hardcore track from Ben Venom with “Reach Into Bassland, and the EP is rounded off with another Paul Bradley classic “When Love Takes Hold”.

Volume 4 of Krust's career spanning collection is here, boasting some serious deep dives into his archives alongside some serious classics that every DJ and listener should own! Once again, this collection shows the breadth of Krust's anachronistic style and original flavour. Often imitated, but never bettered, this latest instalment once again shows it should be done. Tone Def are the original Bournemouth ravers with some absolute classics released in the early 90’s on Moving Shadow. Rog from the band is also the founder of Void Acoustics, the ultimate in club and festival audio equipment, a hobby that became a huge business empire for him.

This EP was written during 1990 to 1991 and had been lost for 30 years until recently, when Rog was checking some of his old ¼” tapes that he took out of storage. These are 4 original UK acid breakbeat rave tracks, encapsulating the raw DIY ethos of the era, of kids messing about in their bedrooms, writing music with no boundaries or templates. Never heard before, never released before… until now.

Acid Boom is a sister label to the Vinyl Fanatiks family. A vehicle to release that early 90’s acid sound that would later morph into rave. Serious history business: 'Some Justice' was the first time Micky Finn and Aphrodite joined forces and launched a partnership that would change drum & bass history. Prior to them linking, Urban Shakedown comprised of Aphrodite and Claudio Giussani who had a run of fantastically euphoric hardcore crossover records during that golden rave era. 'Some Justice' landed in 91 and the instantly goosebumping vocal cut 'Burnin' Passion' landed in 93. Both of them enjoyed these touch-ups in 94, which still sound fantastic today. Feel the burn.

“Illegal Rave Tapes” is the first ever wax treatment for Acrelid, courtesy of Dance Data Records. Originally comprised of 134 tracks, this distilled selection by label head Dreams is a snapshot of John Lee Richardson’s archive of music from between 1999-2012.

Since the ripe age of 12, he’s been drawing inspiration from the UK rave scene in the 90’s that he found himself in. That spark was the beginning of a lifelong obsession. He set out to capture the essence of what he felt and saw surrounding him during that time; whether it was via recording loops out of a playstation 1 to cassette / CD or borrowing any other gear he could get his hands on / that people would lend him.

What’s less important than all the gear he used are the sounds he captured with them. “Sinister beats” that all share a driving quality of rhythm, spanning across smudged influences from jungle to acid and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop transmissions. It’s clear from the tunes that this is someone who’s clocked 1000’s of hours tinkering and refining his sound, and who has squeezed every function out of his machines, just for the fun of it all. Having seldom released music since the 90’s, John’s been waiting for the right moment to share it with the world, and this collection has very much been worth the wait."

Netherlands based Jungle don Tommy The Cat debuts on UTTU fresh from dropping bombs alongside Coco Bryce on his long standing Cat In The Bag records. Here he kicks off the first in a series of “Cosmic Connections” focusing on ambient and alien sounding jungle and drum n’ bass.

DROOGS is back with more unfettered darkness from chief crew member Overlook. First up, we have ‘Tarot’; harnessing echoes of the St Albans’ amigos and laser pointing their unsettling dread into a burning sink hole of riddim.

Flip over for a metallic stepping lash out, ‘Detour’, with holes punched through the omnipresent fog by staccato bursts of jazz stabs penetrating the Jungle canopy from above.

Terrorrythmus is back on the dubcore series with four hyper kinetic slammers in his very own blend of hardcore, juke and bounce bass forest sound. starting up with 4am that crawls out of the fog into a hooked on piano footwork banger which later drops into amen workout. followed by wonk juke on locked vocals. flipside ‚ready‘ is a totaly locked on syncopse rythm work of a mayham. the end up is‚ feel the bass‘ with even more chopped up madness and rave stab moments.

DJ Sofa hit the anthem territory with hardcore sounds of Kill A Soundboy on Straight Up Breakbeat affiliated Flatliners Vinyl. Man of the moment SETTLE DOWN now gives it a heavy jungle treatment —on the flip ESC adds tweaks of acid on AEON FOUR's Essence.

* Following on from the success of our 'Liftin Spirit Reloaded' vinyl series, we are pleased to announce our next project in collaboration with Ram Records. 'Ram Reloaded' will be a series of limited 12" vinyl from Ram's early years, re-mastered from the original DATs and presented onto our usual, high quality, heavy weight vinyl.

* In 1994, Shimon made his first appearance in the Ram studio to create two tracks alongside Ant Miles. With additional production from Andy C, and the vocal sampled from the film ‘Predator’, Shimon’s debut track soon fell into place. Highlighting the usual precision tooled breaks, synonymous with the emerging Ram style, Ant Miles’s reversed bass line and stereo oscillating effects had an immediate impact on dancefloors throughout the UK, cementing Shimon as an artist to watch out for in the future. For the flipside to Predator, Ant Miles and Shimon went on a roller jungle vibe with haunting pads and slow time stretched vocals, creating a hypnotic trance state perfectly complimenting the A side.

During the DJ Wax issue period of vinyl, which in itself was fairly short-lived, the majority of releases were revered as some of the best around at the time. Not many know how active DJ Wax once was, and that he played live much more than he’s credited for. It was during a live performance that “Total Recall” was recorded, not a studio production as most would expect. The “Home & Away EP” would go on to be DJ Wax’s final vinyl release via CMC Promotions. It appeared first of all in 1994. “Morning Drums” previously came out on SSV5, marked as the dubplate mix, as it had received plays from various DJs of the moment such as Micky finn and Jumpin Jack Frost. This EP yields “Morning Drums” in its original guise, being a different version of the previous release of the dubplate mix and has an appeal all of its own. Since release, and due to DJ Wax’s usually small runs on vinyl, this EP has gone on to command big amounts of money.
