Coco Bryce makes his solo debut on AKO after featuring on the Defender album. Two beautiful tracks – Sweetheart has that trademark sound by Coco Bryce, melodic sound, and a rolling break and just has a vibe.

Sonar is an Amen track that has caught the eyes of many and brings a nice balance to the release. Both have been getting a lot of AirPlay from the likes of DJ flight, Mantra, Decibella, and others.

DJ Sarin is a new name for most, but it is a new project from an artist that has been with Kniteforce & Knitebreed for some time now. Otherwise known as TNO Project, Sarin has made a great name for himself in the breakbeat hardcore scene and he is now moving into a more classic style of jungle. No one is surprised that he doesn’t disappoint! The amen drums are chopped within an inch of their lives and then backed up with hoovers and pads. This is the sound of many a dark jungle rave from the mid 90s brought up to date. Keep an eye for more because we see a big future for DJ Sarin.

Lemma2 goes deeper into the ideas presented in Lemma1, this time drawing inspiration from DnB, Dubstep, and Footwork. The result being a collection of sprawling 160BPM polyrhythmic rollers.

Side A ventures into sound design, mangling field recordings collected on travels far and beyond into almost unrecognizable shapes.

Side B takes on a more percussive tip, driving for the dance floor with some stepping d&b-not-d&b business and footwork interpretations.

Calibre - "I first came across Adam's work via a remix I did of 'She Rocks, I Roll' back in 2019, the vibe was melancholic and leaned toward my own bluesy take on things. When 'Dissolve In The Rain' hit my inbox, I instantly connected with the guitar and vocal, in particular the lyrics, and felt it could be merged with a piano idea that I had. Merging these worlds created an arrangement for two sections; a lyrical passage that leads to harmonised vocals, and then an improvised and layered section, accentuated by Adam's lyric and guitar. It was a real pleasure to watch it almost make itself. The worlds combined lead to something nostalgic but new, it's a wonderful meeting of musical minds."

Chelou - "From a weird set of demos that I sent him around four years ago, Calibre picked the most obscure, and that's when I knew he got it! The idea that an artist like him heard something in my acoustic music that sparked him to transform it into a track like this, has blown me away. The piano and harrowing pace is something that I would have never created, it's fucking gold."

Label co-founder, Gremlinz, returns to his imprint with the kind of spine-tingling B-Boy darkness that only he can play. ‘Ratchet’ sees cascading amens, deft break chops, amazon drum taps, tumbling 808, and an-omnipresent dread inducing atmosphere, saturating the entire affair. Heads down, elbows up! On the flip, Cern, successfully harness the emulator, squelchy funk of the brothers Quinn for ‘Second Thoughts’ with taut beats and bass, evoking late 90’s Fortan and pre-Wormhole tech noirfuturism.

Jack Stevens aka Sully has become somewhat of a cult figure in the jungle world with his output being in high demand. His work is unmistakable. It’s always true to it’s origins while simultaneously adding new takes and juxtapositions in palette and composition. A true artist that excels in his field.

Stevens returns to Astrophonica with Swandive, a body of work presented in dual energies - dark & light, body & mind, Yin & Yang. In Werk you’re put to the test physically as es- ki-like percussion stabs grab the attention and demand a response. A staple in Fracture’s DJ sets for the last year or so.

Poison demonstrates a side to Stevens’ production that is harder, meaner, cruder and all together more brutal than he is known for. The result is an infectious mix of venomous bass and corrupted drum breaks fit to kill any dance.

The title track Swandive begins to counterbalance the fierce energy and bring some harmony opening with calming strings and trademark icy melodies before elevating to an intense state of amen divinity that twists and turns in a story like fashion.

Memories completes the balance with euphoric bass stabs and emotional strings culminat- ing in a searing and conclusive anime-like solo. Some of Stevens’ most daring work. The cycle is complete.

Original 90’s D&B imprint Odysee continues to build its portfolio of releases with this second solo E.P. from label partner Andy Odysee. Once again remaining true to same ethos that the original Source Direct and Mirage releases on Odysee Recordings became known for; Andy explores different areas of the Drum & Bass genre and delivers a 12” that showcases both musical scope and stylistic versatility.

During the past two years, DJ Sofa has not-so-quietly built a massive line-up of vinyl releases now finally starting to emerge. First up: a duo of feel-good jungle vibes of 'Junglist Respect' and 'K-Feet' with early support from Mantra, Dj Flight, LTJ Bukem, Dj Aries, Jay Cunning & more.

The first of 10" vinyl releases in the Sub 1996 series, her classic "Skatta" is added to the digital version exclusively on Bandcamp.

Not content with already laying waste with multiple exhibitions of villainy previously on Droogs and UVB, Holsten returns from the depths to inflict more destruction with his latest salvos for Droogs.

“Hidden Figures” blacks out right from the top with insidious pads, phantom force knocks, filthy Reece and a reverberating clock bell that signals the witching hour is upon us.

‘Overgrown’ draws inspiration from by some of the classic ‘Jungle Mania’ tracks of the early 90s and was written with raves like the Notting Hill Carnival in mind. A recognisable yet twisted sample interlaced with a sprinkling of Jungle’s most important building blocks come together to form a potent DJ weapon for the party, for the good times.

Double AA side ‘London Jungle’ brings 1993 rapidly bundling into 2023. Hooked around a handful of classic lines from one of the music’s most important documentary's, the track acts as a commentary on the genre’s current popularity and the excitement that has been rekindled around it.

As with some of the best and most highly sought after plates of the 90s, these two brand new heaters from Settle Down will be vinyl only DJ exclusives, with no digital available.

Dutch DJ / producer Coco Bryce makes his anticipated return to Lobster Theremin with another stellar EP of breakbeat-heavy jungle goodness.

Hailing from Breda, Netherlands Coco Bryce is an artist who cemented his way into every vinyl lovers bag over the past few years, time and time again delivering killer records with his own unique take on jungle and breakbeat. Bryce’s sound blends classic jungle breaks with dreamy synth patterns and clever sampling creating a truly original signature take on the genre. At once old school yet so achingly fresh and exciting.

Pessimist returns to UVB-76 Music with WPN-1 and WPN-2. Tracking at 170 and 130 beats per minute respectively, Pessimist asserts himself with drawn out apprehensive intros on both tracks leading to tribal drums and weighty basslines on WPN-1 and percussive hardcore-esque breaks and tones on WPN-2. A triumphant return for one of the labels finest.

I didn't really know what to believe because the stories were all pretty weird tbh and I can't really go into it here but I'll just say he's soundtracked some of what happened in the form of a set of DJ tools for Astrophonica' This is going to be the third and final Philip D Kick release for Astrophonica to complete a trilogy. What the future holds who knows!"

This series of remixes, stretching all the way back to 1993, continues to progress and expand its base of talented and incredible old skool talent. Part 16 brings some high caliber talent to the table with both Phuture Assassins and Tim Reaper on remixes duty for the first time. Rua Sound's new sub-label SPHERES is proud to introduce its first release from Rome-based producer Noroi. The Adrastea EP is a richly imaginative work of electronic music, showcasing Noroi's uniquely melancholic and futuristic sound.

Comprised of four tracks, the EP opens with "Stay," a powerful blending of emotive breakbeat and evocative vocals. "Untitled Jungle," a collaboration with VSC, is a genre-defying jungle track that builds to a genre-appropriate fist pumping crescendo. "Chrysalis" is on a more introspective tip, where delicate layers of reverb-drenched instrumentation and the transcendent vocal delivery of Tokyo Witch creates a restorative atmosphere. The EP concludes with "Transoceanic," an energetic piece that blends percussion and atmospherics for a sound that can't be defined.

The Adrastea EP shows off Noroi's flare for innovative sound design, offering a vision of the future of electronic music. Out on March 10th on the Rua Sound Bandcamp and in online and physical stores worldwide, it is a must-listen for fans of the deep, adventurous tracks that work in your headphones as well as on the emotional end of the club sets.

This is the first in a series of releases from the SPHERES label, which named after one of Jupiter's moons. Each one features original artwork by Josje Bijl aka Yorobi, inspired by the sketches of these moons by Galileo in 1610.

By now a fabric of the Samurai Music sound, Tensor sees Sardinia's Last Life back for his fourth release for the label. The dive-bomb bounce of Offside opens the EP - hurling out laser-sharp mentasms over a searing groove. Elements adds pace with a driving amen tunnel, pinned down by a swaying half-step kick formation and a vocal insignia. Title track Tensor combines many of Last Life's signature talents perfectly - honed amen edits, a lush percussion loop, and kick drums sitting perfectly - a lesson in propulsion. EP closer Incubus has been receiving the most plays by DJs - a flexing groove, dripping in menace and raw power.

Droogs continue their campaign of villainy with a collaboration between drum & bass mainstays, Loxy & Overlook, on ‘The Harbinger’ and a solo effort from Overlook in the form of ‘Moloko’.

A Sure shot combination to get any dancefloor into a frenzy, drum & bass fundamentals and a no- nonsense attitude.

Planet Mu welcomes back Meemo Comma for her third album 'Loverboy'. 'Loverboy' is a shift in gear from Meemo Comma’s previous works, speeding up the tempos and rhythms, it's set in the nineties with trance, breakbeat hardcore and jungle as some of the influences. After playing a club gig in Spain as lockdown rules were loosening, Rix-Martin was reminded of the power music and people coming together creates. ‘Loverboy’ is peppered with influences from friends past and new as well as artists that have transformed the sound of Meemo Comma over the years, including Autechre, Guy Called Gerald, Orbital and Shitmat as well as others. On this journey we follow ‘Loverboy’ through the club as the night builds and different characters are met, from dropping the first pill to a euphoric ‘Cloudscape’ whilst waiting in the queue, to meeting some shady sorts in ‘Loneheath’. The album changes pace throughout with different rooms of the club being explored which add to the brevity of Rix-Martin’s production style on tracks such as 'Kyle' and 'AK47'. What started as a personal joke about Rix-Martin’s background formed a narrative for some darker, cheeky breaks that echo back on title track ‘Loverboy’, a track that Rix-Martin describes as “working class gender euphoria”.Maybe the mask has come off, and the shackles of pseudo-intellectualism have been put to rest for an honest, fun and ‘propa cheeky’ rave album instead.
