Side AA is entitled 'Move Fwd' and is an official remix by Dialect & Kosine of a track original recorded & produced by Brighton Based
- 6 Piece Reggae/Ska/Dub outfit 'Samsara'. The original track was recorded in 6/4 timing and was originally released in 2012 on their
third studio album 'Good Omens' which received great reviews.
As one of the UK's most exciting reggae acts, Samsara's music pays tribute to the original innovators of the genre which combines
intricate musicianship with raw energy.
Dialect & Kosine have totally reconstructed the original track and have adapted the time signature to the classic 4/4 arrangement,
incorporating their hard hitting Jungle production to create a forward thinking and hypnotic summer time anthem.
Move Fwd originally incorporated afro beat and up-tempo reggae riffs & punchy horn sections featuring conscious vocals expressing
the need for music revolution & progression to 'Move Forward' in these troubled times.

Technicolour and Tobax head up the latest installment of the Expressions series by Fokuz Recordings.

As we noticed a huge demand for a vinyl release of Technicolour's ''Harp Tune'' we decided to eternalise this modern classic for all the wax lovers out there! Lovely atmospheric vibes that make us reminiscence about the old days..

On the flip we have Russia based Tobax with an emotional piece of drum & bass called 'Leaving'. Not to be missed and quite an essential release if you're into musical drum & bass.

After the resoundingly well-received debut release from Roots & Future, DJ Madd has been hard at work building more tough soundsystem beats for his fledgling imprint. A surefire bet to keep steppas moving throughout the summer festival season, 002 presents a couple of contrasting takes on the reggae dubstep sound with a vocal collaboration, 'Homeland', on the A side and the heavily dubbed-out dread vibrations of 'Follow Dub' on the flip. Marina P's soulful verses dance over Madd's tightly-coiled basslines on Homeland, delivering plenty of groove, dashes of colourful melody and skanking rhythms. The smoky, FX-heavy textures of Follow Dub take the vibe deeper, with pneumatic sub-bass pressure and percussive syncopations cutting through the haze; eyes-down dubwise flavours reminiscent of the early DMZ classic era.

Nic TVG is something of an anomaly within Drum & Bass. His tunes consistently surprise with irregular beat structures and his unique
'hand-stitched' micro-arrangements. These traits are very much in evidence here.
'Timelapse Of A Tuesday' tackles the 'Think' break with some fresh thinking. The breakstutters and skips as if time itself was
disappearing. While the breaks are almost schizophrenic the bassline is regular as clockwork and helps to reign in the madness!
'The Clown' is another track with an interesting step to it. Opening with a kick and clap rhythm combination, delicate atmospherics
and jazz tinged keys, the track builds with found sounds and switches into 'live' drums before eventually unleashing the drummer
half way through. A deft combination of the rough and the smooth here.
Flip the record over and you'll find two remixes by some of the most interesting artists in electronic dance music today. DgoHn is
well-regarded by Aphex Twin amongst others and he shows just why with a mesmerising array of drums, words, cuts and effects on
his remix of 'Friday Nights With Heather'. A weighty sub-bass tempers the skittering percussives and the track progresses
incorporating some of the brass sounds from the original track which eventually give way to a wistful synth-line. Breakbeat blues at its
finest !
The name Anstam has become well known within the electronic music scene over the last few years, with 2 well received albums on
Modeselektor's 50 Weapons label, a remix of Radiohead and a guest mix for Gilles Peterson's BBC radio show under his belt,
releasing something on Subtle Audio was the obvious next step (!) We've been fans of this producer since we first heard the early
transmissions on the Anstam label back in 2009 and this remix is everything that we hoped for, namely, breakbeat/piano/synth
weirdness !

Deep in the long dark winter of 2012 / 2013 DJ MARKY combined forces with longtime friends the INVADERZ with the idea of bringing some sunshine to what was one of the harshest seasons in recent memory. Having returned from a drum and bass sabbatical the INVADERZ reconvened in their north London studio with plans for a well deserved return to D&B having spent the last couple of years working along side various other projects, like Dego, BUGS IN THE ATTIC and confronting various mental health issues and living in Canterbury. On some rare downtime from tour MARKY joined them and the result is plain to see here. Two giant slabs of warm home cooked vibes. Needless to say the support from all sides of the community has been overwhelming. Just feast your ears upon the tunes to hear for yourself. Let the sun shine on.

Well the time is now, and we are all his prey. Going in for the kill with his Program debut, the London-based artist has made his move with precision instinct, leaping on us with two rich, rampant rollers just when we least expect it.

Inherently underground and immaculately timeless, both 'Scrummage' and 'Nanite' purr with intricate production prowess. Late night vibes for drum & bass connoisseurs, they carry the hallmarks longevity, offering something new on every listen.

'Scrummage' leads. Opening with crisp, cold atmospheric subtleties, a waspish bassline zips its way into the mix by way of crafty LFO. Fluctuating with angular attitude, the bassline soon becomes the main melody, pinging us back and forth with gritty cheekiness. As we roll deeper into the mix, we're introduced to haunted one-shot human elements and a wealth of sub bass that underpins the whole composition. Vicious without the shoutiness; like the genuine tough guys who never even have to raise their voice, 'Scrummage' is 100 per cent killer.

The icy vibe continues on 'Nanite'. Sharp, stark and steppy, this one's home to yet more creamy sub bass and pensive, synapse-snapping kicks, conjuring up memories of the mid-to-late 90s when drum & bass was really finding its own identity. Boasting a truly menacing vocal sample, the track title might have connotations of a sweet night's sleep but the overall message is clear: don't have nightmares.

HIDFR000 is a unique joint release by Hidden Tracks and Freak Recordings. For this special edition, DJ Hidden remixed two tracks by Freak Recordings' artists Dylan and Cativo. Doubled kicks and doubled snares make the Virus remix an ultra violent, relentlessly dark rendition of Dylan's original... and it has a breakdown Bruce Dickinson would approve of. The remix of Evil Has No Boundaries has been destroying continents for some time now but never appeared on vinyl - or anywhere for that matter. Both tracks are now ready to fill record crates and hard drive space. Just be careful of what you put near it - these remixes *do* bite.

Cylon boss Loxy and man of the moment Skeptical join forces to turn in this rallying cry for the seminal imprint. "Cylon
Theme"epitomizes the brooding space dub championed in Loxy's influential DJ sets for years. Eerie sounds and distant choir
chamber vocals build into metallic high hats and speaker pummeling kicks before giving way to the essential Battle Star Galactica
Cylon samples. The full percussive riddim drops back in with an armor piecing reverberated rim shot and a ten ton Aba Shanti bass
line. The track twists and turns with loose break fills, dub effects and dog barks keeping the head down warrior charge moving
throughout. Lethal!
On the flip, Skeptical brings his razor sharp touch to Loxy and Isotone's "Ancients". Skeptical utilizes seemingly all his now
trademark drum work expertise to masterfully craft one unified rhythmic drum bed out of a huge pallet of percussive elements.
Stomping half step kicks, Natty Congas, reverberated wood blocks, reversed samurai swords, and chopped sections of the Ice Age
break mold together with Photek like precision. If Skeptical's clinical approach to the beats on this track nods to late 90's Rupert
Parkes, his bass line influence is gazed firmly upon the Water House Dub of Digital's output from the same period.
Loxy's keen ear for the future sounds of Drum & Bass, fueled by Skeptical's limitless production chops reminds D&B heads the world
over that the imprint with the robot head as its logo is back to the business of leading the way forward for the whole scene.

Producing perhaps their strongest work when collaborating, both Aspect and Gremlinz attract the attentions of the higher ranks with
every release. 'Armshouse' does not disappoint, with devastating jungle breaks scarring the surface of a deep, rolling sub. Tight and

War's 'Makashi' takes those malevolent bassy threats and adds them to the framework of an atmospheric stepper. Shaking up the

Narratives Music returns with release number five and with it a special collaborative single that brings some of Drum & Bass' biggest

Plus respectively, Loxy, Resound & ASC have been pushing their uncompromising sounds for years via some of the scenes freshest
and most forward thinking labels. This coming together with label owners Blocks & Escher has forged two highly contrasting but

The A Side sees the Narratives owners take on Loxy & Resound to create the tag team, melody led dancefloor effort, 'Monsters'.
Solid breaks, pads and retro synth chords lead into a hushed breakdown before firing off into a cauldron of percussion, subs and
wrenching reese edits. Never a label to stick to a formula, this track progresses into a different 'monster' altogether in the second half;
enfusing the intro's melodies with a new bassline that takes it to a more euphoric and meditative climax. With DJ Friction dropping
this track as a 'world exclusive first play' on his BBC Radio 1 show and D Bridge calling it a 'retro throwback for the future' on his

Continuing with the retro nod to real synths and melody, the flip pits Auxiliary head honcho ASC against Blocks & Escher in the ever
evolving 'Heliocentric'. This track welds the collaborators sounds firmly together, trademark breaks, ambiences and basses provide
the canvas for the constantly progressing musical motifs, pulsing fx and soaring chords. Vastly different in terms of execution and
mood but inimitably the sound we know from Narratives Music.

*Skull & Bones kicks us off, with its funky, lilting intro, which drops into some rolling Eastern effects. Bass is never far away, underpinning MC Kwality's deep, resonating rhymes. Things get minimal after the intro, with booming pads taking the helm, along with continued percussion and mini-breaks. The atmosphere is menacing, whilst maintaining musicality. Skull & Bones is pure soundsystem fodder, ready to wreck any sound, anywhere. Get ready to hear this one at all the festivals this summer.

Lynx appears again on the Warm Communications for his second helping of funk fueled drum & bass that he does so well. Having a
reputation for razor sharp production and always pushing boundaries with his music, Lynx is no newcomer to the scene. 'Therapy' is
one of Lynx's more rougher tunes. Heavy stepping drums and punishing bass stabs accompany the sinister vibe when it gets going.
'Feelin' Me' sees Lynx teaming up again with Hellrazor for uplifting amen affair. Vocal treatments weave in and out of a very
interesting take on the amen break. If you like you're drum & bass with that rough & smooth style, then this is the one for you!

A. Girl I'm Running Back 2 U feat. Christian Urich - Random Movement Remix: Marking a departure from the 130BPM, 80's disco
style of the original version from Makoto's last album Souled Out, this remix ups the energy level from the beginning with Random
Movement's super sharp drum beats, bringing out a drum n' bass vibe all whilst preserving the trade mark clear 80's-sounding synth,
guitar sounds, and Tortured Soul front man Christian Urich's soulful vocals. The baseline will give you goosebumps when it first
comes in, but continues throughout with a bouncy groove. This is definitely one tune which will surely get the dance floor going with
its upbeat energy!
AA.Woe feat. Deeizm - Lenzman Remix: This remix is exactly the high-quality work one would expect from Metalheadz soul boy
Lenzman. The soundscape of lush synths and his trade mark deep, smooth bass line fits perfectly with Deeizm's vocal and lyrics. It
captures the emotional and soulful essence but still retains an energetic groove, something that only Drum'n' Bass can do.

Bringing intelligently dark drum and bass to the masses is a difficult job, but somebody's gotta do it. This time Mortem takes
Demand's hot seat to encourage two tracks with the hard-hitting firepower and sub pressure of a depth charge.
'Bring It Down' has Mortem's deep-driven grooves stamped all over it, matching heavily contorted bass with hyper speed percussion
to give an unsettling sense of uneven, bottom-heavy textures.
Pushing dread-filled atmospherics through the ringer is one of Mortem's specialities, and this track excels in bringing out his dark
side in a format that's ready-built for the dancefloor.
Utilising old school flavours for 'Malfunction' while maintaining that technical bite, writhing rhythms are sucked in through his unique
sampling vortex to create a track that's all about movement. Multilayered and thick with attitude, its behemoth of a bassline is barely
contained by intricately woven techy percussion.
As one of drum & bass' most reliable sources of prolific high quality, Mortem rises above the rest time and again with his unique take
on deep, intelligent beats. This release showcases his love for depth, texture and movement but also his capacity for creativity, which
comes in droves.

The Green Man's Sound Power is "Bass Music" with a lot of soul. Its 30 tracks are a sound journey from melancholy to euphoria, covering both speedy and half-time beats, coolness and emotion. It features mainly Drum & Bass, but also Dubstep, Ambient, Jazz, Soul, Techno, Trap and Trip Hop. It switches between lush arrangements and minimal simplicity, between wide spaces in sound and
the intimacy of a drummer's booth - with a big final at the end, featuring three of green man's former biggest hits at the end of cd 2. "Sound Power" is a sound adventure - which is supposed to be experienced from the beginning to the end.

Singers like Peter Boucner (I'm a Junglist, UK Top 10 with Shut Up & dance's I'm Ravin I'm Ravin), Demolition Man, MC Navigator, Mystic Dan and Ras Abraham are performing on Green Man's sound resulting in tracks with soul like "Face the Father", "Word Sound Power" (both on Basswerk 38 limited edition vinyl), "Junglist Soldier","Keep Trying" or "Playing in the Dark". Shut Up & Dance's "The Green Man" once was the spark initiating "The Green Man"'s artist career delivered the artist name, so having Peter Bouncer to sing the opening track matches not only soundwise. It's the positive energy of his singinig - in Jamaica they call it "Word, Sound, Power" - which became a hook for the whole album, which is about "Sound" that lets you smile, gives power or also makes you wonder. Besides
the groovy material tracks like "Chainsmoker, Apokalypse or "We destroy the world" show Green Man's "dark" side.

TGM's first album "You Decide" on Duesseldorf's electronic crossover label "Combination" (who also released SEBA and Kabuki albums) back then convinced the fans not only with the music ("Infinity" entered the MTV Dance Charts and was #1 in the german DCC club charts), but also with its accompanying little written "essay" in the artwork. "You Decide" was loved by D&B nerds and "Elle"magazine at the same time. It is a coincidence that Heiner Kruse a.k.a The Green Man (or in short "TGM") has his birthday on the same day with Matthew Herbert. Nevertheless it is no surprise one can find allusions or political statements in track names, colours and pictures plus another little essay also in "Sound Power", they are not so much hidden though and feel quite
personal. "The Green Man" does not only enjoy details when it comes to sound design but also when it comes to writing down his "TGM" moniker as a logo on the album the same way he does it with an "Edding" waterproof pen on self-burnt dubplate cd's, developping a fonts out of it and doing the whole artwork.

While currently "Bass music" is the new word for Drum & Bass and Dubstep, the borders between genres seem to "blur". TGM and Basswerk are known for running one of Germany's most famous Drum & Bass events called "Basswerk Sessions", being an absolute term in the scene featuring a wide musical variety of Drum & Bass since 1995, featuring artists such as Intalex, D-Bridge, State Of Mind, BSE, Doc Scott, Spectrasoul, Enei, Calibre or Dub Phizix recently. With over 40 Vinyl and CD releases including regular musical contributions by The Green Man's own "Basswerk" label, founded 1997, soon developed to become one of Germany's most famous Drum & Bass labels receiving various Future Music Awards for the best label, which were the german equivalent to the UK's D&B Arena votings.

As an artist TGM is known to enjoy surprises, be it within his dj sets, productionwise with "crossover" tracks like "Easy" or "Infinity", or with his dark "Chainsmoker", released on Big Bud's UK's Soundtrax label played by DJ's like Rockwell, Phace, Naibu or Intalex - or long ago producing a coop with Klute called "Chicks" in his Cologne studio. He covers a variety of electronic music and Drum & Bass. No wonder his music was used for various flms and performances like CSI Miami, BBC Blue Peter, Sky, Arte, CreativeReview.co.uk, Current TV, Holiday On Ice and more, including his works as a composer for the "Lichtfaktor" lightwriting artist collective and its movies.

The Green Man has been performing DJ and Live Sets internationally including overseas gigs and in 2008 also contributed a DJ Mix on behalf of Groove Attack for Knowledge Magazine's CD. In 2011 UK Mixmag has chosen his Basswerk dc2 digital compilation including a TGM dj mix to be compilation of the month. He also does music videos and artist tutorials on www.youtube.com/basswerkrec. He is also known as an author of various books on music production in german language and teaches music production and beatdesign lessons
in an engineering school once a week in Cologne.

To have this release on R&S feels like the most natural thing in the world. This is the label that put out Lemon D and Jacob's Optical Stairway (aka 4 Hero) in the 1990s, placing drum'n'bass firmly within the continuum of international electronic music - and there is nobody better placed to draw the links between the current d'n'b scene and the wider world of techno, electronica and bass music than dBridge.
The record opens with a sample of simultaneously hilarious and deadly serious Jamaican dread wisdom, that leads into the Skeptical collaboration 'Move Way'. This is track is a perfect example of the half-tempo rhythms that dBridge helped pioneer, a kind of d'n'b parallel to the deepest dubstep yet which still maintains the momentum of 170bpm parent genre through subliminal flickers of percussion. 'Death of a Drum Machine' is a more standard d'n'b roller rhythmically but is embellished by filmic piano chords and absolutely exquisite production. Finally 'Plain to See' steps outside genre completely. Again with the half-step/double time thing going on, it's simply a piece of awesome electronica: a love letter to vintage electronic drum sounds yet utterly modern, rich in slowly unfolding layers of synth melody and harmony, and the perfect counterpart to the other two tracks on this perfectly structured EP.

After the huge success of Bassface Sascha's International Sound release in 2008, the D Style crew felt compelled to go back to the German-based producer for some further freshness.
