Rude Operator - Witchdoctor

Rude Operator's dissonant intro on Witchdoctor synthesizes a half-time beat with jazz undertones before bouncing into a percussive bassline. Constantly evolving drum patterns, punctuated with horn bursts and upright bass from Ornette Hawkins, keep the dance floor moving.

Gunman's blissed-out atmospherics pave the way for a heavy combination of chopped up breakbeats and a juked-out drumline. Equally influenced by early jungle and contemporary footwork, 808 percussion and congas punctuate the undulating bassline.

Arrowhead fuses dubbed out elements with a running apache break and ominous synths. Percussive vocal stabs propel the song forward, while a deep, driving bassline and amen cuts bring the pressure.

War Diamond pays homage to DC's indigenous sound, Go-go. A hypnotic conga drum workout rinses oscillating bass with nature sounds, taking you above the canopy with a relentless swing. Lightly toasted by Born I Music, this fresh take on jungle delivers a heavy, tribal perspective.

Tokyo Prose & Phil Tangent - Parity / Rearview

Coloured vinyl: Solid dark green and white mixed.
After Tokyo Prose' successful entrance onto the scene with their 'Introducing' series creativity began to flow. A series of collaborations with numerous producers began and it was inevitable some of these would bare great results. Phil Tangent had one of the singles of 2010 for Marcus Intalex' Soul:R label and was a perfect creative partner for the ideas charged Tokyo Prose. 'Parity' marries the pairs styles perfectly, with a euphoric vocal tempered by subtle gliding beats and bass. 'Rearview' is a sign of what Drum and Bass is missing in 2011. Smooth, deep and soulful music that reminds us again how powerfully emotive the genre can be. DJ support from Marcus Intalex, DJ Marky, Spectrasoul, Presha and more to come..

02.03.2018

A natural homecoming for one of our favourite artists, we are proud to present the second album from Zero T on Dispatch Recordings; 'Little Pieces'.

Neatly forming over the past year, 'Little Pieces' marries all aspects of the Irishman's diverse, accomplished sound, progressing from the elegant piano foray 'Fortune Favours' to amen strewn tech stepper 'Dying Breed', filling all the gaps in between.

Collaborations with Beta 2 & Villem are backed by vocal features from DRS, Stamina and Steo; whose lyrics provided the album's core inspiration on the stunning title track, supported by Friction (on BBC Radio 1) and DJ Hype (Kiss FM). Following his acclaimed 2015 album 'Golden Section', Zero T continues his thematic, visual imagery; the album artwork reflecting the mosaic of his influences from over the years, carefully reconstructed into a cohesive body of work.

A true demonstration of his artistry, Zero T encapsulates everything we love about this genre in 'Little Pieces'.

Ray Kandinski & Karl Lumont - Project Chicago

Every tune of the 12" is deeply inspired by the origins of the mid 90s melodic Jungle & D'n'B movement, namely by the greats of that era: Peshay, Source Direct, LTJ Bukem and Photek.

Ray & Karl have worked together on a number of projects over the last year, the most recent one being a split 12" on 'The Other Planet' of Lyon. While Ray has been connected to the Lo-Fi House scene and acts like Baltra, DJ Boring and DJ Seinfeld, Karl has been more low-key, producing music that's relaxed and organic, mainly inspired by naature and the musical movement around Frits Wentink and Max Graef.

For this release they worked closely together, decided to stray off their usual paths and combined their different styles to form a well-rounded record.
'Make Me Feel So Good' does just what its name implies. With a rising pad chord, a syncopated break and a soothing vocal, it is the perfect opener for this vinyl.
The second and name-giving track of this EP, 'Project Chicago', samples the surely most-often heard piece of Brian Eno and transforms it to a relaxing yet uplifting track that takes you back to the days where you could easily make a cup of tea while you waited for a website to load.

The B-side unfolds with the most acute drum-programming on this release and a fairylike lead vocal, moving you to 'Feel It'.

To conclude this 4-tracker, Karl delivers a very interesting mix of organic Arps and nature sounds and punchy breaks. The deep subbass-line will resonate through your whole once you hear this one on the dancefloor.

From her early days raised as a youth in Bombay, Asha Puthli initially trained in Indian classical music and opera, but over time gravitated towards contemporary western pop, upon discovering talents like Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, and Dusty Springfield. After making a name for herself in her native country, she found her way to New York, where she happened upon John Hammond of CBS Records. Hammond would introduce Puthli to the avant-garde legend Ornette Coleman, who utilized her unique vocal stylings on his 1971 record Science Fiction. Her work on the album earned widespread praise, and though it didn't lead to further work in the United States, it did bring her a record contract in Europe. In 1973, Puthli released her self-titled debut through CBS, which would not see release in the US, but was subject to widespread critical acclaim and fascination throughout Europe. Asha Puthli was produced by Del Newman, who had done arrangements and production for Elton John's famed album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", of which Puthli was a professed fan, and featured a cover image heavily inspired by the glam aesthetics of groups like T. Rex, David Bowie, and Queen. These aesthetics would also blend into the music itself, an 8-song collection featuring renditions of songs by George Harrison, J.J. Cale, Bill Withers, and others, plus one original by Puthli herself. Asha Puthli is a remarkable work of its time, for its daring amalgamation of pop sensibilities, jazz sultriness, and experimental eirdness. A sensuous work of jazz / disco fusion that pre-dated Donna Summer's slick, and eccentric works.

Crypticz - Forever Ep

Crypticz

Forever Ep

12inchCBR024
Cosmic Bridge
20.07.2017

Cosmic Bridge welcomes yet another new talent to the roster: UK producer Jordan Parsons aka Crypticz, who for the past few years has been distilling influences from drum & bass, dubstep, and footwork into a deeply personal sound. Following EPs and singles for Different Music, Inflect Audio, and Doc Scott's own 31 Records, Crypticz delivers a personal, emotive release for Cosmic Bridge. Forever was put together over the past year by Om Unit and Crypticz — with the label boss inviting Parsons to take more risks and guiding him into the fog.' As a result the EP offers a distilled, more refined take on the dub aesthetic that has powered the young producer's music to date.

The title track gets right to the point with layers of delayed bleeps and clicks creating a dense rhythmic bed. Crypticz then finds the space in the layers inserts a simple 2-step drum pattern as well as a driving, guttural bass line, and strings to complete the sonic picture. Breathe, close your eyes, and just let go. 'Shapes of You' was inspired by a collection of '80s synthesizer sounds Om Unit shared with Crypticz and which drove the creation of a track with distinct yet complimentary melodic and rhythmic parts. The slow, droning synthesizers envelope the listener while the gently rolling rhythm stands somewhere to the side. The overall mood is inviting and meditative, full of space for the listener to nestle in and find their own shape.

'The Crawler' is the EP's most direct dancefloor track yet still sidesteps the obvious, an eyes-down roller in the finest Cosmic Bridge tradition. Flutes, percussion, and synthesizer elements expand slowly to achieve a subtle sense of progression despite the track's seeming sense of stasis. The EP closes with 'Spirit On (For Z)', written as a dedication to a loved one, a spacious and stretched out ambient workout with sparse percussion, droning bass, and softly layered pads that still manages to give a sense of rolling out despite the lack of obvious rhythms. The digital version of the EP includes an alternate version of 'Spirit On', which further stretches the ambient warmth of the track.

By taking a dive further into the abyss of dub and ambient, Crypticz has emerged with a four-track EP that perfectly balances the itching tension of technoid rhythms with the relaxed ease of dub echoes. Forever echoes some of the early work by label boss of Om Unit while maintaining a forward look. It's a fitting addition to Cosmic Bridge's growing catalogue of outernational dubwise, bass heavy music.

Including their recent collaboration with underground heavyweight Prolix for Infinity, the renowned VIP for DC Breaks' classic Gambino, the jump-up vibes of Underground and the uplifting-melodies of Never Stop (which helped to sound track the Olympics, Formula 1 and Match of the Day) and Everybody, Different Breed also includes huge array of fresh cuts. Dipping their feet once again into the world of neuro, MC Nuklear joins them on Dead or Alive for an intimidating cut whilst Vendetta moulds their signature basslines into an even darker realm. Remember, Step Up, Organism and Hustle also jump into the fray, proving that DC Breaks discography still has its grittier side that snaps its jaws with every break.
On the other end of the spectrum sits records like Time to Kill ft. Diane Birch, who offers her climatic high-notes for a dynamic roller, as well as Moving On and No One Like You ft. Niara Scarlett, adding a soulful dash to an already impressive set of featuring artists. And lastly, SWAG 2017 makes an appearance, a rework of the track which catapulted DC Breaks onto Beatport's number one position for a month.
Different Breed will stand as a testament to not just their longevity, but their experience and growth as artists throughout decades. Released on Ram Records, another resounding name within the electronic scene, their debut LP will be met with anticipation from both old and new fans. It also signifies another monumental part of their journey. A journey not looking to be over anytime soon.

Optiv & Btk / Maztek & More - Dutty Audio Salespack Incl. 27 / 13 / 11

3x12"

DAUDIO027V:
The Duttyest of the dutty return with DAUDIO027, as BTK's Dutty Audio label continue to break new ground and release some of the hottest music on the neuro, and the wider drum & bass scene. This time around, label head BTK teams up with Optiv and Mindscape for two enormous tracks, Ruthless and Heads Above.
Dutty have always been about standing out from the crowd, doing things a little bit different, and catering for those that love their music loud and hard. Both these tracks fit the core ethos of what Dutty is all about, and fans old and new are going to love them.
Ed Rush 'These guys just keep on delivering. Bangers. Full support here :)' Enei 'great!' Loadstar 'tidy! always love optive and btk tracks' MC Coppa '50 Shades of Dope! Ruthless is badass' Dieselboy 'solid as fuck'
Ruthless, a collab between the three producers, gets going without any hesitation. A fading vocal sample comes in and goes out in the intro, as the track builds itself up underneath. Get ready for the mental drop, as all three artists add something distinctive to the mix. Funky, hard driving drums stand firm, as the electronic bass hums along, creating a breakneck soundscape straight from the underground. Flashy samples are up next, as the pace is picked up and direction set fair for the future. BTK, Optiv and Mindscape bring the beats down, just to recharge them and let things loose again.
On Heads Above, Optiv & BTK take over the production, with a sharp, metallic opening to the track. This is overlayed with warping bass sounds, and a ticking, headnodding beat. The comrades swap ideas, with elements of each other's sound obvious on the track. Always reaching forward, never looking back, Optiv & BTK know how to deliver the goods.
Mob Tactics 'GUTTER!!!' Gremlinz 'Smashing it!' Foreign Concept 'Sounding good lads!' John B 'v nice indeed'
Headed straight for a dancefloor near you, both Ruthless and Heads Above are great examples of the Dutty sound, and will appeal across the board. Make your next purchase DAUDIO027, you won't regret it.

Support Includes: Loadstar, State of Mind, John B, Dieselboy, Doc Scott, Mob Tactics, Random Movement, Bowser, Ray Keith, Maztek, Grooverider, Borderline, Gremlinz, Serial Killaz, Trei, Foreign Concept, Dabs, Neon Lights, Ed Rush, Dose, Chris SU, Eastcolors, AMC, Mutated Forms, Mampi Swift, SIGNS, AK1200, Enei, Joe Ford, Basher, Skynet, Rene LaVice, Crissy Criss, Billian!
---
DAUDIO013V:
This is the one you've truly been waiting for. The Blend LP drops at the perfect time for the Dutty Audio camp, after a series of acclaimed singles and EPs and high profile bookings for label boss BTK and other Dutty artists. With a varied, vivid collection over 11 tracks, the album builds on, and expands Dutty's universe, delivering track after track of quality neuro- and tech-inspired music.

Contributions come from veterans like Optiv & BTK and Maldini, and newer names like Level 2 and Cern. Expect heavy hitting sounds, blended with the finest production on display in the scene. The album is a trip, so get strapped in.

The Blend title could not be more apt, as the album ranges from the old skool-tinged blasts of C.A.B.L.E's future classic Individual, to Cern's ominous Fourth State. There's heavyweight business like label boss BTK and Optiv's majestic Let It Loose, complete with live-sounding drums and sliding effects, and the usual insanity from Teddy Killerz in the shape of the mean, sinewy, but still musical Mock.
---
DAUDIO011V:
Maztek and BTK. More specifically, Maztek on Dutty Audio. Yes folks, it doesn't get any better than this. What We Bring (featuring Nuclear MC) / Caph is the latest release from Italian phenomenon Matteo Cavo, better known as Maztek. Since starting out at the age of just 13, Maztek has led a life filled with music, and has been creating electronic music since he was 18. He formed his own label in 2005, and has found success on a range of top international labels, including Basswerk,
Future Signal and, most recently, Renegade Hardware. Along the way, he has collaborated with leading names like Aeph, Optiv, and Dabs.

S.P.Y 'I will be playing this for sure big up! :-)'
Nymfo 'Maztek is on a roll! another Beauty on Dutty Audio!'
Chris SU 'Wicked release - supporting!'

Now though, comes perhaps his shining moment, as he links up with Brazil's BTK, and his Dutty Audio imprint. Himself an esteemed producer, his label is gathering speed, whilst featuring his own material alongside selected
friends and guest who have complimented the label's vibe.

And vibes are all over What We Bring/Caph. The former is a deeply engrossing trip to the dark side. Maz and Nuclear are your guides, as you descend into the underworld, your way only lit by the track between your ears. Nuclear's rhymes are the perfect mix of dangerous and lyrical, and the track is a flowing, rolling blend of tech elements and rough, rugged basslines. Music for the clubs, and equally for heads to listen, learn and dissect, What We Bring is a statement of intent for both Maztek and Dutty Audio. Get yourselves around this one.

Caph is a sound enthusiast's dream. Unifying music and sound design, every detail is thought about and adapted by Maztek's music genius. Slowly building up to an almighty crescendo, life after the drop is a hard, uphill struggle where you are assaulted by sonic lasers and some of the crunchiest bass out there at the moment. Working its way back, the track is lifted by some pulsing synth leads and slicing effects. The percussion is then brought in, before we're taken back to the military march of the intro.

Maztek shows off his ability to build and destroy at the same time on What We Bring and Caph. The tracks have found a natural home on Dutty, and are set to rock the rest of your summer. Essential listening.

Ulterior Motive 'Wicked stuff guys thanks'
Fourward 'Great stuff'
A-sides 'Cool vibes! Liking both sides of this one., Shall rep :)'i
Basher 'Pure sickness'

Worldwide Epidemic - Diamond Life 02

New Zealand's most prolific J-tek enthusiast Dan Silk aka Worldwide Epidemic returns to the Myor camp, this time for a solo release on the Diamond Life sublabel.

On 'Aroha' he finds himself exploring territory slightly removed from his usual 4x4 Jungle Techno habitat. Extended pads, techy synth stabs, sugar coated diva vocals and spot of Amen choppage courtesy of label boss Coco Bryce make for a top notch 7 minute atmospheric D&B junglist excursion.

'Enterprise' offers everything one might have come to expect from Mr. Silk: his signature offbeat break programming layered with a 4x4 kick drum, instantly recognizable synth melodies and a healthy dose of pads. Hardcore in its most gentle form.

In the ever-evolving world of electronic music, each genre has a handful of centerfold acts that have pioneered the movement in such a way that many have brashly followed suit. By paving the creative way and decimating every glass ceiling in their path, these said artists continually construct a precedent that directly reflects the extreme hours and tireless passions spent culminating a production so pristine, yet only a few minutes long. Camo & Krooked for me and many others, embody everything i've described above and more. With countless timeless classics such as the hit albums Cross The Line , Above and Beyond and Zeitgeist, the boys have announced their next album entitled Mozaik

Jojoe & Joakuim - Jojoe Ep

Jojoe Ep

Sable Noir
02.02.2018

This is the 2nd installment of Sable Noir recordings: the Jojoe EP, a 4 track vinyl exploring a deeper, sometimes darker minded side of the 170 spectrum.

The first 2 tracks by Jojoe are some really deep, clean, and strong tunes, and also dancefloor destroyers, we saved them for years until finding the right idea to release them and this is whats happening now with this vinyl.

The first track untitled is a deep and dark minimalistic tune with a really strong bassline and some great cuts that makes it a fantastic dj tool for your sets.

The second track "97" is a clean and deep tune driven by some analog pads and a reese bass that will make a great job on any
systems!! Watch out for the switch in the second drop!!

The 2 tracks on the B-side are by Joakuim the first one "To Chant Down Babylon" is a halftempo dub influenced tune @ 170 bpm with a strong vocal sample and dubby bassline! The last track "Snow" leads you onto a world of deep and cold atmospheres with a rolling beat and bassline!

This vinyl is done in the memory of Joe Holland, beloved friend and music producer. This EP is done for him!!

Black Sun Empire & State Of Mind - The Violent Five

Repress

When heavyweights collide in any arena there's always going to be fireworks, and The Violent Five EP sees two such goliaths, Black Sun Empire and State Of Mind, go head-to-head across six dark-edged dancefloor killers.

Black Sun Empire have long been a fan favourite when it comes to tough breaks and decimating basslines. The Dutch collective have been producing seminal hits since what feels like the dawn of time and show no signs of slowing down. Traverse the globe and touch down in New Zealand and you have the birthplace of another drum & bass behemoth, State Of Mind; a duo so influential that if you were to pick the name of a top D&B label from a hat it's likely that Pat & Stu have released music with them.

All too often we see these sorts of collaborations creating a false positive, but not in the case of The Violent Five EP. From the offset, it is clear that each party has brought their relative strengths to the table and put a stark focus on the implementation of those abilities for maximum effect. The beats pound through driving bass and the atmosphere created from the sheer energy of each track is literally electric.

Alaska - Venera / Criterion

Arctic Music presents Venera.

Venera is a deep emotional title adding further shelflife to the growing Arctic Music catalogue. Searing guitars, keys and chime moods escalate over sharp breaks Alaska style.

Arctic Foundations's Criterion makes a welcome return on the flipside featuring Kiyomi Grounds on vocals. A small twist alongside the original intense Amen breaks with a longer 9 minute digital excursion.

Soul Intent & Lameduza - What I Wouldn't Do

"I've been a massive fan of Klute since bagging Commercial Suicide 001 back in 2001. Then to release on Commercial Suicide myself in 2012 was a massive personal goal, so to now be releasing a remix he's done of one of my tracks, and be releasing it on my own label is a massive buzz and a proud moment for my little label." - Soul Intent
