Rickard Jäverlings music can deservedly be described as playful and searching but for that sake not fumbling or too loose around the edges. On Album 4, the second album release from Jäverling on Höga Nord Rekords, he dwells more in dub than on his prior album release, and Jäverlings skillful songwriting is carried smoothly by the soft and fluffy production: the rhythm section sounds as if resting upon a sun warm bed of moss and elements flows in and out of the production like a freshly rippling stream of water deep in the summer forest. Echoes shoots through the pines, the hills and the valleys and makes the album a premium dub experience which dominates large parts of the album.

Aside the obvious references to nature that comes in mind listening to Jäverlings music, this album is more than a romantic view on the Swedish wilderness. It flirts, like all quality dub from the seventies and eighties with science fiction and space with broad synthesizer sweeps and delay drenched clouds like imploding and exploding stars somewhere in the outskirts of the Milky way, spreading dust over the Swedish forest. On the final three tracks, Ganjaman_72 takes the album out of the galaxy with spaced out-remixes on some of the songs.

With his feet steadily grounded in jamaican music tradition whit a non sentimental and curious view on production, Rickard Jäverling have together with Johan Holmegård (Dungen, Goran Kajfes), Andreas Söderström (ASS, Goran Kajfes) och Ganjaman_72 created the natural follow up to Album 3.

Rickard Javerling, Born And Raised In Borlange, Sweden, And Now Living And Working In Stockholm Is A Wayward And Productive Musician. Besides Releasing Material Under His Own Name, Javerling Is/has Been Part Of Constellations Such As Dodens Dal, Liljor And Javerling Von Euler. Album 3, Released On Hoga Nord Rekords Is His Third Solo Album.

Album 3 Breathes Psychedelia, Dub, Swedish Folk, 'progg' And Continental Vintage Electronic Music. The Songs On This Album Are In A Way Like A Compilation Of Short Stories Rather Than Chapters In A Novel. The Common Factor In This Album Is Javerlings' Exquisitely Worked Out Melodies And The Warm, Round Production But The Songs Can, Due To The Rich Storytelling Qualities Of Each One Of Them, Almost Be Regarded As Small Albums Of Their Own!

The Music Made By Richard Javerling Is An Embrace, A Relative With A House By The Swedish West Coast Or A Day Off, Midweek In April. This Album Is Inviting And Calming But Also As Solid And Mighty As A Dalecarlian Beech Tree.

Blod is the solo project of Gustaf Dicksson (Enhet För
Fri Musik, Oroskällan), a prolific and crucial figure in the
Swedish Underground scene radiating out of Gothenburg
and centered around a number of independent labels and
including bands such as Enhet För Fri Musik, Monokultur,
Oroskällan, Loopsel, and Neutral. Blod has released
various home-recorded cassettes and a handful of albums
since 2014, all mercurial in nature, exploring various facets
of Dicksson’s preoccupations. The melodies borrow from
tradition and possess a lonesome quality inspired by
Swedish melancholy, close relations, and white trash
culture. Combined with intentionally banal artwork, the
experience can be beguiling and sometimes bleak but at the
same time warm and humorous.
Missväxt is Dicksson’s greatest work yet, exploring the
myth of ancient Swedish being and misery but with a sound
that is uniquely ecstatic. Inspired by medieval folk music,
it’s reminiscent of Fairport Convention’s marriage of traditional
folk music and psychedelic rock.
Missväxt features guest appearances by Elin Engström
(Loopsel, Monokultur) on drums, Astrid Øster Mortensen
on vocals and flute, Joakim Karlsson (Facit) on production
and synth, and Magnus Jäverling on flute.
