'Easy' is the debut album by the Australian rock band The Easybeats, recorded in just a few days at the EMI Studios in Sydney. The album was originally an Australian-only release but became internationally available during the '90s.

With "Times Are Tight" we have the missing link of the "soul chain" where Neddy Smith, Steve Kahn & Co.,Touche', Maxine Singleton, Jagg ... have found a pinch of glory. The history began 40 years ago when S.P.Q.R. (sub-label of Best Record) released "Danceteria", a wonderful compilation with 10 disco-soul-funk songs produced in the States among which the fantastic tune written, arranged and performed by Jimmy Young, still relevant today, that during the summer 1983 was rocking half world's dancefloors. The vocal side of "Times Are Tight" is so good for vibe and sentiment, while the instrumental version is early 80's disco-funk perfection. Great groove with really interesting instrumentation and variation. Yes indeed! This is the classic funk anthem from the early 80's - the lyrics are so apt for the current economic situation "Don't give up, your day is coming!"

Sababa 5’s tight-as-ever instrumental grooves are enriched by the bright bass sounds of The Hoodna Orchestra brass section, comprising Bar Ashkenazi on trumpet, Eylon Tushiner on tenor, and Elad Gelert on baritone saxophone. Hoodna are renown for their energetic take on Afrobeat, and have been touring and recording recently with Ethio jazz legend Mulatu Astatke, and here they supply a touch of JB’s meets Africa ‘70 energy.


On the flip “Eiffelet 23” grooves along like a Dap Kings funk nugget, except in this case there’s room for Eitan to improvise across the jam with a microtonal organ sound reminiscent of legendary Egyptian musician Magdi el- Husseini.
Due for full release on vinyl and digital on 2 June, “Eilat 22” & “Elifelet 23” open another page in Sababa 5’s rapidly diverse and ever-engaging discography, with two songs destined to head light up dancefloors over the coming months.

Robert ‘Hacker’ Jessett and Anne Gilpin, who form the nucleus of Morton Valence, effortlessly take the country music genre, which is generally considered a uniquely American musical form, and create something uniquely English, without ever compromising their authenticity. The atmosphere that BJ Cole brings to the album is palpable, in both production values, and his unmistakable pedal steel guitar performances, on songs such as the plaintive ‘Together Through the Rain’, where an estranged Anne and Hacker reunite under the shelter of an umbrella, walking through the rain and trading verses along the way. There’s the bewildered small-town homecoming of a wannabe prodigal son in ‘A Town Called Home’. And a conversation with ‘Jim’, a seemingly old-school kind of bloke, with a penchant for midday drinking and late-night city shenanigans. As well as BJ Cole’s steel guitar, there are other collaborations too. ‘Like a Face that’s Been Starved of a Kiss’, co-written with Band of Holy Joy front man, and lyrical visionary Johny Brown. Joel Paterson has been a mainstay of the Chicago roots music scene for
over twenty years, playing with many bands and showcasing his unique
blend jazz, blues, rockabilly, country and western swing
'Wheelhouse Rag' is a 14- track collection of original rags and country blues on
solo, finger picking acoustic guitar.
The all- acoustic, 1920's- tinged 'Wheelhouse Rag' may at first seem like a
departure in genre for the guitarist - he is predominantly known for his
instrumental multitracked recordings reminiscent of Les Paul and Chet Atkins -
Joel learned to play guitar by ear from the records of acoustic legends such as
Blind Blake, Robert Johnson, Reverend Gary Davis, and Big Bill Broonzy. He later
expanded his repertoire to include techniques of the thumb-picking giants Merle
Travis and Chet Atkins. These influences can be heard throughout the album,
mixed in with many more twists and turns from the mind of the artist, to bring
you, 'Wheelhouse Rag:' the original fingerstyle guitar instrumentals of Joel
Paterson.

Twice Removed From Yesterday is Robin Trower's first solo album after
leaving Procol Harum in 1971 and hooking up with Frankie Miller in the
band Jude
Featuring ex-Stone The Crows bassist/ vocalist James Dewar and Reg Isidore on
drums, it was originally released in March 1973 and heralded the beginning of this
legendary power trio, paving the way for Robin to be the deserved guitar hero that
he is. A mix of hard bluesy rock, the album contains nuggets of genius
throughout, none more so than on the title track, I Can't Wait Much Longer, and
Daydream amongst others.This new deluxe version is housed in a gatefold sleeve
and is remastered for 2023. It features 3 unreleased versions of album tracks, the
B side of the "Man Of The World" single (Take A Fast Train) and 4 BBC John Peel
sessions.

Formed in 1999 by founder & chief songwriter Bruce Soord, The Pineapple Thief
have continued to evolve & refine their sound ever since. They're now seen by
many as one of the most interesting & innovative rock bands the UK have
produced in recent years. Over the last half-decade, bolstered by the involvement
of master drummer Gavin Harrison, the band has rapidly ascended to the upper
echelons of Europe's Alternative Rock scene.
The band's anthemic 2020 release 'Versions Of The Truth' garnered worldwide
acclaim, earning TPT their highest chart positions to date. Immediately affected
by lockdowns, the album eventually led to extensive European & American
headline tours.
Prior to working on a new studio album, 2023 has seen the band turn to revisiting
its vast & impressive catalogue, with this edition of '10 Stories Down' (originally
released in 2005 on the Cyclops label) the latest in a series of early classics
remixed & remastered for release on LP.

The 12th instalments on the label is signed by NeuGrau a brand new project from Ingmar Pauli and Saša Rajković. Their sound brings to mind rough 80s/90s dark wave with a punk/rock tinge and bass guitar as the lead instrument.

Kym Register + Meltdown Rodeo (formerly LOAMLANDS) is a
transgressive and distorted country music outfit based in North Carolina
that places queer storytelling at the forefront
Their music intimately grapples with identity, retribution, reconciliation and queer
existence in both modern- day and historical (inclusive of mostly all) southern
culture.
Register is also contributing a queer lens to the southern rock ethos. By way of
supporting cast, Sinclair Palmer (bass), Joe Westerlund (drums), and Matt
Phillips categorically deliver. Check out the title track for a perfect example of the
band's ability to travel between gritty
responsiveness and tendern reflection at Register's lyrical instruction. Whether
grappling with the constrictions of gender expressions on dating apps ("How Do
You See Me"), evoking the semi-autobiographical loneliness of Dorothy Allison's
Carolina bastards ("Maureen"), or daring white folks to "get right with their history
of compliance in racial capitalism" ("Loamlands"), Register affirms that
songwriting, at its best, is a gross but necessary confrontation.
Ultimately Register and Meltdown Rodeo (both the newly named band and
album) have achieved in eleven songs something the south has only halfheartedly attempted - undoing generational curses by retiring "bless your heart"
lip service.

Lovely Little Girls is a theatrical art-rock band from Chicago that features
members of Cheer-Accident and The Flying Luttenbachers - They
specialize in odd harmonies and catchy melodies served with a histrionic

Kabwe and rhythm guitarist John Kanyepa have a winsome softness to their vocals, which sit politely aside the feral growl of drummer Watson Baldwin Lungu, bassist Jerry Mausala and bandleader/lead guitarist Isaac Mpofu. Africa’s vibe ranges from anxious (“Amanaz”) to escapist (“Easy Street”) to straight-up pissed-off. On the “History of Man,” his voice whiskeyburned, his distorted guitar buzzing like swarming hornets, Mpofu indicts his species.
There’s a darkness to Africa not found on any other Zamrock records, and a melancholy drifts throughout, specifically on Mpofu’s more restrained “Khala My Friend,” which stands as an effective, bleak situation for the Zambian everyman, the average citizen of a struggling, new nation, who might have had relatives in conflict-torn countries on the horizon, who might have been struggling to find his next meal, who might have seen a bleaker future than his president promised. Then there’s the clear Velvet Underground-influence on the nostalgic “Sunday Morning,” which, as Kabwe
recalls, was the first song written for the album, back in 1968, when Velvet Undergound and Nico was a new release - and the underground funk of “Making The Scene.” The album also tackles traditional Zambian music and early-‘60s rock – punctuated, of course by Kanyepa’s wah-wah and Mpofu’s fuzz guitars. But every time Amanaz get too deep, too violent, they come back with an accessible song and woo their listener back to the groove. “Green Apple” is a civil song, featuring Kanyepa’s sighing guitar. It is a perfectly arranged album, from the dichotomy of Mpofu’s and Kanyepa’s lead and rhythm guitars, to the vocal harmonies, to the rhythm section’s sense of space and time, which allows Africa’s funk to build. Inexplicably, Africa was given two separate mixes and two separate presses: one version is dry, with the vocals and drums mixed loud, the other slathered in reverb, with the vocals and drums disappearing into the mix, and with the guitar solos mixed much louder. We’ve presented them both here as they each have their appeal: it’s up to the listener to pick the one he or she prefers. This is a highpoint of the Zamrock scene and we hope that this can be seen as its definitive reissue.

First appearing on TV screens in September 1968, Joe 90 was a unique nine year old boy with the ability to absorb the brain patterns of top experts

enabling him to become the most special agent of W.I.N. (World Intelligence Network).

Whilst there are arguably better-known scores amongst Barry Gray's sublime catalogue of work with the Andersons, the composer's work for Joe 90 is in many ways

the most consistent and inventive selection he ever wrote. Developing a theme for the new series was always the musician's starting point, and for Joe 90, the pop charts breezed into Gray's studio,

with an opening tune featuring a genuine groove. Mixing Gray's inventive electronics with 60s "surf rock" guitars was an inspired decision.

It is no wonder that this piece has gone on to enjoy a second life as a Northern Soul disco floor-filler.

For episodic incidentals, Gray was freed from the detached unearthly premise of Captain Scarlet and able to bring back a playful sensibility

and a more mature musical palette which are amply illustrated in this 24 track collection.

The expanded edition of Sounds Of Summer will be available in a variety of formats, including a 3CD softpack, and as a Super Deluxe Edition 6LP vinyl boxed set on 180-gram black vinyl in two options – a standard set or a numbered, limited edition version featuring a rainbow foil slipcase and four collectible lithographs. Both versions will feature color printed sleeves that replicate the original “Capitol Catalog” sleeves that highlight the entire Beach Boys discography, and all formats will include a booklet with new liner notes and updated photos. The original 30-track version will also be available in its newly remastered and upgraded form on single CD or double gatefold LP on standard weight vinyl or as a higher-end limited edition numbered version pressed on 180-gram vinyl with a tip-on jacket and a lithograph. "

Mit dem Debütalbum „Old Time Feeling“ stellte sich 2020 die amerikanische Sängerin, Songschreiberin und Gitarristin S.G. Goodman vor. Goodman steht knietief in der Tradition des Southern Rock und verbindet ihn mit Country, Singer-Songwriter-Kultur und hier und da auch mal knackigem Rock and Roll. In ihren Texten legt die Künstlerin den Finger dahin wo es weh tut und in ihrer Musik flirtet sie des Öfteren so charmant mit Indie-Sounds, dass man sie keineswegs als konservativ oder „retro“ bezeichnen kann, auch
wenn sie musikalisch an klassische Vorbilder anknüpft. Der Rolling Stone legte sie beispielsweise allen Fans
von PJ Harvey ans Herz.

„Teeth Marks“ ist S.G. Goodmans zweites Album auf Verve Forecast, wie der Vorgänger wurde es produziert von Jim James von der Band My Morning Jacket. James über Goodman: „Ich denke, sie könnte
eine wichtige Rolle bei dem Heilungsprozess spielen, den wir unbedingt brauchen. Sie ist der lebende Beweis dafür, dass wir sein können, wer wir wollen, egal woher wir kommen.“

Ein halbes Jahrhundert, oder in anderen Worten: 50 Jahre. So lang ist es bereits her, dass Udo Lindenberg das legendäre Panikorchester gründete. Am 13. August 1973 wurde dieser Zusammenschluss offiziell gemacht, seither war es wie ein unzertrennliches Bündnis, und auch wenn die Besetzung der Band stets einige Veränderungen mitmachte, sollte es doch als solches bis zuletzt bestehenbleiben. 1983, im selben Jahr, in dem auch Odyssee erschien, fand auch das legendäre Konzert im CCH (Congress Center Hamburg) statt, vor welchem die Besucher wohl nicht ahnen konnten, dass sie Teil eines weiteren ikonischen Releases werden sollten. Denn das am 19. März 1983 stattfindende Konzert wurde live aufgezeichnet und erschien im selben Jahr noch unter dem Namen Lindstärke 10 als offizielles Livealbum. Im Januar 1990 konnte Lindenberg mit dem neuen Panikorchester im Zuge der politischen Wende erstmals auch auf Tournee durch die ehemalige DDR gehen, wobei das Konzert in Leipzig ebenfalls aufgezeichnet und als das Livealbum Live in Leipzig ausproduziert und veröffentlicht wurde. Zeitsprung ins heutige Jahr 2023: Zum großen 50-jährigen Jubiläum des Panikorchesters erscheinen nun nicht nur diese beiden Livemitschnitte, sondern gemeinsam mit dem kaum weniger legendären Livealbum LIVE ’96, welches die bis heute anhaltende Reunion des originalen Panikorchesters dokumentiert und 1997 ebenfalls über Polydor erschien, und nun erstmals auf Vinyl verfügbar sein wird.
