Bonding over their disillusionment with exhausting world tours and the relentlessness of the music industry, David Bardon, Oscar Robertson and Olivier Huband formed Sunglasses For Jaws in 2017.

Over the course of their albums, they have collaborated with Clementine Brown (Penguin Café Orchestra), Miles Kane (Last Shadow Puppets) & Rosetta Carr (Alabaster Deplume). Hailing from London, this band takes you on a unique musical journey, skilfully blending the lounge, experimental and groovy influences of the 70s with a contemporary twist that leaves plenty to the imagination.

Hip Hop Legends is a limited 45 series that reissues classics from the classic era of 90s rap and 'I Am I Be' comes with silky bars and storytelling lyrics over warm melancholic chords and subtle boom-bap beats. On the flip, things get stripped back a little as the same cut gets an instrumental. It's a version that allows those chords and some gentle horns as well as big guitar licks to really shine while the groove continues to roll on.

“Thunder” is the second release from Hip Horns Brass Band in 2022. With “The Dream” the band paid homage to 90’s rap with the collaboration of London singer R.A.E. In “Thunder” they continue with the fusion of brass band and hip hop, but with an instrumental look and making references to contemporary rap artists.

For this recording they have had the trumpet of Miron Rafajlović, one of the references of jazz on the state scene, as well as the production of Tito Bonacera and the drums of HOSS$ Benítez one more hit. The groove that is established from the beginning —which the most music lovers will quickly recognize—, together with the careful arrangements and the enormous quality of the soloist, make “Thunder” a fresh and energetic song for the dance floors. Apart from the digital release in collaboration with graphic designer Hermes LeBleu, “Thunder” has been edited and distributed by Rocafort Records and Say it Loud Records. Side B includes the single “Marathon Runner”, a sample of the band’s first recordings that vindicates the raw sound of the street brass band.

Among hip-hop fans, Boogie Down Productions first two albums – Criminal Minded (1987) and By All Means Necessary (1988) – loom very large. And for good reason: they both captured one of the late 1980s most important and influential crews at their highest powers of lyricism and musical invention. That said, too many people sleep on BDPs third LP, Ghetto Music. Released in 1989, when the hip-hop world was truly beginning to explode and reach new heights of sales and exposure around the world, the album is arguably as powerful as the group's first two. As on By All Means Necessary, in the wake of the tragic death of the founder, producer, and DJ Scott LaRock, KRS-One pushed along mightily on the production side, with help from his extended crew. Musically the sound created on albums 2 & 3 was funky, catchy, and continually innovative, giving him the perfect backdrop to build his Edutainment syllabus. Lyrically there was never a question about KRS-One's power, and on Ghetto Music he continues to impress, teach, and ask important questions. Clear cases in point are two of the album's singles, "You Must Learn" and "Why Is That?" but he gets even deeper on tracks like the anti-police thought-piece "Who Protects Us From You" (still sadly relevant in 2024), "Ghetto Music" and "World Peace." Daniel Dumile, better known as the late, great and always mysteriously masked MC MF Doom was one of a kind. His legend lives on through his work which here gets served up on new label Doom in instrumental form. 'Saffron' (MF instrumental) is a silky late-night sound with warm melancholic chords and subtle boom-bap beats. On the flip, things get more jazzy with the expressive trumpets and more raw broken beat patterns of 'Arrow Root' (MF instrumental). It's a timeless and sophisticated sound that will woo any listener into a calming mood and comes on a limited 7".

The Homeliss Derilex are a Milpitas, CA crew and have been making a name for themselves in the underground scene since the early 90's with a superb laidback and jazz-influenced style. They released their self-titled debut back in 1993 on tape, which in the meantime has become an elusive collectable piece. They followed that up by releasing various 12" singles in the 90's and enjoyed a successful stint with Stones Throw Records.

We will be dropping the second volume of Fraudulent by Homeliss Derilex on double vinyl for the first time ever. Just like the first volume released in 2004, this compilation presents tracks that originally only appeared on demos, tape promos, and vinyl singles. The music ranges from 1991 up to 2004 and as an extra you will get the Cash Money (Mike B Remix) and 2 of their earliest recordings taken from old 4-track tapes dating back to 1991. As always all tracks have been remastered and the album cover is an ode to their first tape release from 1993 where it all got started. ?

New music from Philadelphia’s recently rediscovered soul powerhouse Ron Aikens and his backing band the Hip Tones is a soon-to-be classic double sider. Following in the traditional “soul 45 rpm” single format, a ballad side with a funk side on the flip, here is the first physical release from the forthcoming LP “Ron And The Hip Tones”. The lowrider soul feel on “Tear On My Chin” comes from a brainstorming session with Ron, producer P. Maxwell Ochester, and the two main songwriters Dave Cope & Fred Berman.

It tackles heartache, pain, and loss coupled with the slow grinding groove only true heartache can produce. On the flip, you will find a nod to Ron’s former band, Power Of Attorney, and their breakout single “Changing Man” which inspired the uptempo groove and sweet flute part. Hinting at the classic Philly Soul style, there are lush strings and as a bonus, the impactful and powerful message delivered by Philadelphia poet Ursula Rucker.

Felipe Gordon is a Colombian producer based in Bogota. He’s one of the most famous faces of latin american underground house music. He built a track record of pure house productions from the mid-2010s up until now, being Laurent Garnier-supported and releasing records with the most notorious house labels around the globe (Royal Oak, Razor-N-Tape, Toy Tonics, Local Talk, Shall Not Fade, etc.) His unique sonic touch, intertwining elements of raw analogue sounds from his synth collection and a strong hip-hop sampling background are allowing him to explore and revisit his influences to craft a solid musical signature.

Frozen Mugs started out back in 2020 as a soon-to-be classic hip-hop collaboration between "Maylay Sparks", Swedish producer “K Sluggah” and “Clever 1” (one half of “Da Buze Bruvaz”). You will experience an uncanny chemistry between these 2 high caliber emcees who are providing you with the traditional sharp, tenacious, aggressive & grimey wordplay over K Sluggah's cinematic, soulful, and psychedelic beats giving the listeners a vivid picture of what goes on in these dangerous times. The hard delivery and complex word patterns are descriptive gestures of loose women, action in the streets, cocktails & cold beer guzzling. In the midst of recording this project, we experienced a severe tragedy as we lost the incomparable Malik B formerly from the Roots. The last days before his passing he recorded the verses for the album and he was supposed to record a few more as there were talks of him becoming a full fledged "Frozen Mugs" member. Sadly the talks of doing an album with Malik B on HHE never came to fruition. This project is dedicated to one of the most legendary emcees Philly ever bred and he will always be remembered as a lyrical giant. R.I.P.
