CZARFACE - Wu-Tang founding MC Inspectah Deck and veteran Boston duo 7L & Esoteric - isn't concerned with the glitz and the B.S. that modern consumer culture is pushing. And neither are the group's fans. In 2013, the trio appeared relatively unassumingly with their self-titled debut, which was chiefly produced by DJ 7L and included guests ranging from Ghostface Killah and Cappadonna to Vinnie Paz, Action Bronson and Roc Marciano. The soon-to-be acclaimed group found out quickly that there was a groundswell of hip-hop fanatics thirsting for the lunchpail, lyrics-above-all-else rap they fell in love with in the '90s. Several pressings of the album on CD, 2-LP and even cassette later, they are back and ready to up the ante. This time around the group is the same, but it's fair to say that all three men have stepped up their game. We knew how we felt about the last album, but weren't sure how it would be received by listeners,' explains MC Esoteric. But people really responded to it, even more than we had hoped. That gave us the confidence to really spread our wings and let loose on this one. The chemistry is even tighter this time around. We know exactly what lanes we are cruising in and what weight class we are fighting in for Round 2.' Inspectah Deck adds, Czarface is like the Danger Room for the X-Men, I can use all my weapons on there. When I'm in Wu-Tang, I have to come a certain way because we have a certain style of fan, when I'm here doing the Czarface projects, it allows me to actually be an MC, it allows me to actually just spit...I love that. I love when i can just spit freely and just be an MC.' The fighting analogy - whether drawn from pugilism or '80s wrestling, both which figure into Every Hero Needs A Villain - is an apt one, considering the unrelenting lyrical attacks that Deck and Esoteric unleash on track after track, each trying to one-up the previous verse. Best of all, it is friendly camaraderie, based around a loose theme of renegade mutant MC talents running wild. DJ 7L explains, All three of us are influenced by comics, sci-fi movies, TV, wrestling. Czarface encompasses all of that, and it helps with the visuals as well.' On the production side, 7L shows yet again - as he did with the group's debut - that he remains a formidable yet underappreciated musical force, constantly providing hard, funky and alternatingly ominous backdrops for the assembled MCs to use as lyrical luge paths. If that wasn't enough, it's all iced with a ridiculously intricate and beefy 70-plus page, hardcover CD casebook with lyrics and extensive artwork by Gilberto Aguirre Mata (El Ultimo Codice) and L'amour Supreme, and with Death & Abduction,' a comic written by Esoteric, and an explosive, comic-book-inspired cover by L'amour Supreme (Mishka NYC).

Showcasing her raw originality and enigmatic style, the debut 12-inch EP "Drive" hits hard. Each track is a powerhouse of energy, fusing futuristic electro with gritty, blood-pumping vocals. "Drive" pushes boundaries with adrenaline-soaked rhythms and an unrelenting edge—pure driving music made for pure pleasure.

The EP also features explosive remixes from Ben Pest and Dagga, each launching the original track into nuclear orbit, primed for peak-time rave madness.

The Sun Trax EP marks Jonny Loves House’s return to vinyl with four dancefloor ready deep underground house grooves. With elements of funk, disco, house, and techno, it brings a crisp and crunchy sound that fuses classic underground vibes with forward-thinking production.

Feelings has a lively club vibe with its crowd noises, FX, pumping beats and funked-up synth bass holding down the groove. Classic keys and synth melodies come in and out, bouncing off the cut-and-paste female vocal loop.



Hazey Phase takes things deeper, with a minimal guitar lick, jazzy keys and dreamy synths. A subby garage bassline and hypnotic beats hold the track together as it builds up and down throughout.



What You Do To Me takes things a bit harder while still retaining the funk, with its acid-tinged synths, call-and-response rhythms mixed with tight, crispy beats and percussion, a rolling bumping bassline and vocal snippets.



Soundtrack builds a lush soundscape with rich synth textures, an arpeggiated synth, emotive keys and deep bass playing off each other. The crunchy beats and percussion keep things moving along, with spaced-out vocodered vocals drifting in and out over the top.

The second part of Roy’s return to Emotional Response and the While Line Sunrise series dives further in old Hard Drives and DATs to unearth more lost techno for the brain, heart and feet.

Ensuing melody for driving beats, Fenix Haus 6 is a TB303 blast. Electro meets acid, the focus is on the rhythm, percussion is pushed to the fore and the rest will follow. Exit Ren8 brings some melody touches to the jacked-up ride, acid melodies ride classic Roy beats, programming for the mind and soul.

As with Part 1, here the flip expands the retinae of the found sound, Cristia Theme with flourishes of IDM and industrial touches, wrapped in a sheen of acid squelches and snap hats.

The series completes with the theme, the ambient meets kosmiche of White Line Sunrise III. Minimalist keys against cathedral sweeps, motorik drums float in and are gone, a grandiose ending with, as always, a light hearted ending, Roy’s return is a welcome and an intriguing interlude.

British tour de force Rene Wise is an exciting talent synonymous with hair-raising and hard-nosed Techno. A name that's been confidently claiming its stake in common lexicon with a passion for polyrhythms, forward-looking frequencies and kaleidoscopic beats. It's the mind-expanding potential of his favourite genre that forms the basis of his new vinyl release on Bassiani Records. Drawing on personal experiences of the psychedelic sort, he also cites the role of atmosphere and spatial configuration in the making of his sound, in his own words: 'the space that the music is presented in, is hugely important and there are some very unique and special spaces in the world that capture the true essence of how techno music should be experienced. Bassiani is one of these places.' Well that praise goes both ways, it's hard to imagine a more fitting EP for the club. This four track release is both an homage to the Bassiani floor and a powerful dive into a trippy realm of Techno Wise has spent his years as a musician diligently exploring. Following his two reinterpretations of last year's "JK Flesh Remixes" and four years after his solo EP "A Day In The Life" in 2021, Bicknell takes us deep into the realms of his sonic mysticism, marking a significant milestone in the fifth anniversary of the label.
Several Streams of Thought LP - is an unrelenting and immersive odyssey, presented through nine tracks, seven of which will be available on a double 12-inch vinyl, with two exclusive cuts in a limited 7-inch format.
The album hits hard, straight to the brain, with no warning, across sides A, B, and C. Each side is a raw, untamed techno experience, with Bicknell's unmistakable signature dominating throughout, delivering unwavering intensity and relentless impact.

Im Sommer 1968 traf sich der 18-jährige Genesis P-Orridge (damals Neil Andrew Megson) mit Freunden in einem bescheidenen Dachgeschoss, um mit Klängen zu experimentieren. Das Ergebnis war "Early Worm", eine Sammlung von Aufnahmen, die die aufkeimende Kreativität eines Künstlers einfing, der später eine Schlüsselfigur der Avantgarde-Musik werden sollte. For the seventh installment of his Hardspace series, Len Faki selects three standout tracks from his personal vault - polishing them up with signature flair for maximum impact.

The A-side features a powerhouse mix of Jimmy Edgar´s Strike. Len Faki brings extra drive and spatial depth to the mix: sizzling hi-hats pan sharply across a tight stereo field, vocal chops flicker in and out, and the groove is stripped, slick, and forceful. A subtle reverb treatment adds atmosphere without compromising punch.

On the B-side, Faki dives into Robert Armani's 1994 album Right to Silence, revisiting two Chicago-style jacking tracks that are nodding to the Dance Mania era.
Up rides on a fierce hi-hat shuffle and a pounding stomp, centered around a bold vocal loop that captures the rough, battle-cry attitude of classic Chicago jack tracks. Faki's edit sharpens the angles and tightens the structure, giving the track even more bite.
Road Tour originally leaned on a harsh, detuned lead synth. Len´s Hardspace version removes the abrasive top line and lets the looping arp take center stage, which subtly shifts in tone and pans across the stereo field. The groove doesn't push forward so much as it sways side to side, creating a warped sense of motion. A pitched-up vocal sample-half command, half tease-injects just the right dose of jack attitude.
HS007 channels the raw, functional energy of vintage Chicago trax through Faki's modern lens - respectful to its roots, but fully tuned for today's sound systems.

Past Due Records is thrilled to announce the reissue of 'You Make It Harder,' a long-lost gem from the 1980s NYC dance music scene, originally released as a 7 inch single for the WBLS Budweiser Showdown under the name Contreras / Sokolov / Milgrom. This rare boogie funk record, known only to a select few aficionados, is now available for the first time as a 12 Inch single, featuring four additional unreleased tracks that perfectly capture the Ray Contreras Band’s multicultural, synth-driven funk. The release includes a full sleeve and the story of the band’s journey, from winning the legendary WBLS Budweiser Showdown to their near-miss at the national finals.

They say that good things come in threes... it must be true and Favorite Recordings also proudly presents the third edition of its acclaimed French Disco Boogie Sounds compilation series.

Like on prior volumes, the complete tracklist is selected by label head honcho, Charles Maurice (aka Pascal Rioux), who's unearthed 13 more forgotten and hidden tracks, all produced whether in France, in French, or by French artists between 1977 and 1987.

With most of these titles now very hard to find in their original edition and unknown by many, this compilation should be a must have for any Disco-Boogie-Funk music lover and collector.

Fully remastered from originals at The Carvery Cut (UK), French Disco Boogie Sounds Vol.3 (1977-1987, selected by Charles Maurice) is presented by Favorite Recordings in a gatefold vinyl double LP and as CD.

Informed by all the sub strains of UK Bass music and the Hardcore Continuum, Analias’s hazy sound straddles both poles between melancholy and euphoria, with an underlying greying hue in the center where all the disparate colors of the underground meld into one. Preferring to let the music speak on his behalf, (You will not find him on social media) Analias’s already substantial discography is an accomplished body of work that deserves all of the attention and praise soon to come his way. On Friday 25th March Parlophone Records release “Remixes” on double CD and triple vinyl LP. The album is an updated version of the 2020 Digital compilation of the same name, featuring mixes that were originally released between 1991 and 2021.

Alongside Kraftwerk’s own remixes, the album includes some of the world’s biggest DJs and Producers, including François Kervorkian, Orbital, Underground Resistance, DJ Rolando, Alex Gopher + Étienne de Crécy, William Orbit and Hot Chip.

NZO goes sick on a standout debut album for Demdike Stare’s DDS, distilling 2-step UKG, R&B and computerised funk within whirring mechanisms adjacent to mutant jungle and footwork - the proper good stuff.

On ‘Come Alive’ SoYo’s NZO bruks wild but tight on nine tunes chiselled from a distinctive percussive palette cut into fidgety, soulful samples. She dances in and around the cracks of myriad styles with a canny grasp of limb-animating, rhythmic diffraction; all stop/start rhythms and stuttering diva-vocaloids arranged with a rudely shatterproof, grooving pliability. More simply put: it’s dance music for those who like to get super loose and freaky with it.

Chopped up and stitched together over six months in Sheffield, it’s not hard to hear a lineage of advanced Afro-American rhythm science that also feeds into SND’s jerky-but-sexy angularities, and subsequently Rian Treanor’s rugged pugilism, now morphing back to the source, but heavily skewed with it. Her judicious sampling of R&B gems is offset in obliquely funked-up structures in ways that knowingly mess with conditioned anticipations yet never lose sight of the ‘floor, and we’re here for it.

Jumping in with the writhing darkside tekkerz of ‘Rolling Around’ and clocking out with a standout downbeat pearl ‘Looking For’, we hear her displace amapiano closer to halfstep D&B in ‘AXMM’, and decimate 2-step like Akufen on ‘CFML’, while ‘K-space baum bap’ appears to dart in the spaces between UKG and singeli, and the sloshing congas, bass motifs and dub chords of ‘Deadweight’ settle to a sort of aqueous UKF.

Swedish italo disco / synthpop duo Sally Shapiro announce their fifth studio album, Ready To Live A Lie. Taking inspiration from synthwave, italo disco, nudisco, indie pop and bossanova, the album becomes their second for Italians Do It Better - again mixed together with label founder Johnny Jewel (Chromatics, Glass Candy, Desire).

A1 - Tried So Hard
Intensely atmospheric from the outset, Tried So Hard sees ASC explore a more minimal approach to breakbeats with sparse drums and kicks tentatively held at arm's length by imposing hi hats. Dripping with depth and a dense layer of synthwork enveloping the landscape, this unique track develops continually with a suite of interlocking effects while the vocal yearns "I've tried so hard" - both haunting and thought provoking.

A2 - Parallel Seas

An energetic, surging breakbeat powers Alacrity as ASC utilises breaks reminiscent of classic driving atmospheric tracks of the past from scene legends including Intense and Artemis. Uniquely constructed with a pulsating, fluid energy, the break pattern utilises relentless kicks, cymbals and a wonderful long snare primed to move the dancefloor as synths wash and a lush vocal whooshes along in ecstasy.

Jumping straight in with a DJ-friendly beat intro, ASC selects a crisp, definitive selection of old school cuts for Glimmer of Hope, chopped and served with a barrage of sci-fi effects, micro melodies, a bellowing, rumbling bassline and a serene intensity driven by dreamy pads resulting in a perfect patchwork of elements, offering endless layers of detail for your ears to pick through with each listen.

Hardcore Rap music is still here! Mike Redman is considered a cult legend known for his unorthodox music production in various genres. He's well known as an artist in the Jungle and Hardcore scene, as a renowned movie score composer and made a name for himself as organiser of the infamous 'Redrum Hip-Hop' events since the 90's which hosted international artists from Guru to Cannibal Ox, Public Enemy, Beatnuts and many more. He also set up Redrum Recordz, a pioneering independent record label focusing merely on anything musically unpolished. Even though Mike Redman (which is his name of birth by the way) was often linked to many Hip-Hop success stories and produced records for artists such as Public Enemy and Big Daddy Kane, Mike has just recently, after many years, decided to produce a solo record featuring the Rap artists he admires and form the foundation of his legacy. With great respect towards his mentors, in a non-profit manner, Mike now releases 'Redrum Relics' featuring Rap icons such as Kool Keith, Chuck D, Schoolly D, Sticky Fingaz, Young Zee, Chino XL, O.C. and many more. This album is truly exceptional and is not made with the intention to be commercially successful, but is a love-letter to a period in time where passion was the motivation. 'Redrum Relics' brings Rap music back to the golden era with a contemporary touch and keeps it unpolished and unyielding as ever. People that tend to say that Hip-Hop is dead might want to reconsider.

Exos returns to Mutual Rytm for second standout EP, 'Icebreaker'.

A renowned global talent, Iceland's Exos was last on Mutual Rytm earlier this year with his successful 'Infrared' EP in April. The debut release on the label's new 10" vinyl X-Series, the EP picked up a wealth of high-profile plays while delivering an absorbing journey through techno soundscapes. The release was followed up by his 'Evil Nation' LP, exploring a harder, more intense approach to techno on his own Planet X imprint, ext to tunes on the likes of Figure and X/OZ. However, he returns with more skilfully crafted ammunition across five stand-out productions and two digital bonus gems on SHDW's burgeoning imprint for a second outing packed with his trademark sound spanning mystic yet driving and impactful spheres.

The package opens up with 'Voices Of Volcano', a powerful track with a monstrous low end and quickened drum kicks that compel you to march in time as the twisted synths peel away up top. 'Enter The Danger' has a steamy feel, as if racing through a humid jungle with the sounds of bird calls and haunting voices next to the loopy percussion and driving rhythms.

The brilliant 'Icebreaker' keeps up the intensity with more precision drumming working dancers into a meditative state while the cosmic synths grow up out of the groove to become bright and unsettling. 'Mocoa Beats' is another warm techno cut that fizzes with synth energy and unfolds like an ancient ritual, while 'Chicat' brings some sensuality to the party with whispered, intimate vocals over more macho and unrelenting drums. Bonus tracks 'Codebreaker' and 'Spliffmatch' round out this high-grade EP of timeless techno in style, offering a unique closing treat for digital purchasers.

Classic samples on 45. The Whatnauts, Help Is on the Way. Released as a single in 1981, this hard to find 45 is a certified Funk Disco Boogie classic! An infectious bass line over a head nodding drum groove, this is one for the steppers. Instantly recognisable as the sample source for Del La Soul’s “Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)” Hip Hop classic, you might also recognise it for lending a riff or two for Fat Larry’s Band, “Act Like you Know”.

Isaac Hayes. Ike’s Mood. Released as the lead Single from the 1970 album “…To Be Continued” this Soul Jazz classic unwittingly became a huge source of inspiration for the sampling generation. Sampled almost 200 times, the brass section, drums and an unforgettable piano hook have been used to form the basis for classic releases by Biz Markie, Mary J. Blige, Nas and Massive Attack to name only a few.

Seasons pass and recording sessions flow. Flow one after the other. With their authentic sound and their studio built in the tradition of the Jamaican forefathers that is stocked with razor sharp musicians, MCs and singers- they are always ready to go to work. Equipped with an exclusive approach to dub: Jolly Joseph and Doctor Charty have the ways and means to produce and share their own take on this music they love so deeply. Their new project coming out in May 2025 is the culmination of several years of collaboration between Dub Shepherds and Junior Roy, a regular at BAT Records Studio and a key figure in the global soundsystem scene. This release is the French singer and MC's very first LP, entitled "Troddin On". After the successful release of a 12 Inch 45 in the summer of 2023, the Shepherds and Roy naturally began to ferment new ideas. The arrival of this LP on the turntables is both a milestone and a stepping stone towards the future of this union.

As is customary with BAT Records the sound is warm, the basslines heavy and the riddims groove on solid rhythmic footing. "Troddin On" revives the feel of 80s and 70s Jamaican music. Behind the mic, Junior Roy navigates the highs and explores the sacred themes of the genre. His voice is vibrant, his emotionally charged lyrics soar, embracing instrumentals. Perfectly tailored to fit. This is roots music, this is reggae, no detours—each track is paired with its dub version, giving the project a traditional album showcase format. And when it comes to Dub, with the Dub Shepherds it’s all about "Hardmix"—no compromises, just great mastery!

Known for her delicate, subtly psychedelic approach to production - all subtlety is thrown out of the window on the opener, “Parents and God”. We are immediately confronted with a slamming Chicago house style beat in style of Mr Fingers at his most utilitarian. It slams, jerking in and out of tempo like Ron Hardy in beast mode.

Out of nowhere a soulful church organ arrives - at first for a brief respite - but then for an extended solo, which gives way to an 80s electro style breakdown before reverting back to form. It shouldn’t work, but somehow it does - to a dizzying extent - and heirin lies Mayurashka’s magic: a blatant disregard for norms and a deft touch that makes the unorthodox so compelling.

“Notango" takes another big left turn - sitting somewhere between tribal seance and rain dance, it’s mostly organic drums and otherworldly sound effects that combine to drag us deeper into the wormhole before “ Vat Murmur” takes us back into the light with its uptempo disco energy and giving way to heavy chugging bass. This one is equally for fans of idjut boys and Larry Levan.

The EP rounds off with the title track “ LSI dreaming” - to try and describe it is almost impossible, but let’s say it starts of with a mid 2000s Perlon-era tech house energy before things quickly escalate beyond all recognition and then just hover with lysergic intensity. If I ever closed panorama bar, this is the track I’d end with.

‘selfsame’, the second 12” on false aralia, mirrors the structure of companion release ‘zero key’ in presenting an iterative exploration of versioning itself, unspooling a line of flight through four ascending rhythmic configurations. the objects at the center remain hard to glimpse: holographic percussion, snatches of breath, contorted blue chords, and roiling subs phase in and out of perception, interlocking, dissipating and reappearing as familiar silhouettes. the slow and quick domains of rhythm superimpose and bifurcate, perpetually just out of grasp, only visible in mutual reflection. the apparent solidity of the structure dissolves into a froth of microscopic activity upon close inspection.

Legendary Dutch producer Stefan Robbers returns to De:tuned with his first new Terrace album in almost 15 years entitled 'Branches'. In the early 90s, the well-respected Eevo Lute originator built a firm connection with the first wave of Detroit producers and since then he has put the city of Eindhoven on the worldwide techno map. This new 10-track album represents the trademark Terrace sound, expertly produced throughout extensive hardware studio sessions and completely mesmerizing from start to finish. A classic yet innovative exploration of Motor City techno with a unique Dutch twist.
