On the 2024 Altered Circuits release Tropicana Tracks Rotterdam-based artist Betonkust paid tribute to the former subtropical pool (now a circular entrepreneurship hub) Tropicana of his hometown. ALT025 is the follow-up: the fallen-from-grace swimming paradise again fuels a club-oriented selection, inspired by, in the artist's words, "the electronic music from 1988 up until now", more specifically "the Benelux-sound". Tropicana Tracks Two kicks off in full gear with the zero swing drums and lately bass rhythms of Don't Think I'll Be Here Too Long setting the stage for intense synth stabs. Its counterpart comes by way of Realxing, which nonetheless uses similar patches. If the A1 is the thrill of the slides, this one feels like blissfully floating in the geothermally heated waters afterwards. Will Support on the reverse side takes on Detroit techno. Minimal in its composition, it is carried by tough, loopy minor fifth synth sections and prominently mixed rides. TV For Lonely People features more big bass catchiness and melancholic, silky melodies, glued together by vintage flanger treatment and chlorine-damp reverb. The production revels in what feels like the quintessential Betonkust sound. Innershades then joins for the encore, and, characteristically, the mood turns a bit darker. Letting Go Of The Dream is an emotional New Beat update, fully equipped with thudding drum works, haunting lo-fi vocals and pivotal 303 programming - a fitting reaffirmation of the long-standing ties between two of Low Countries Electronics's finest ambassadors.

Bridges Towards Open Spaces: Circadian Rhythms 1967–2025 follows in the footsteps of Two Piers acclaimed previous releases, Night Train: Transcontinental Landscapes 1968–2019 and Music for the Stars: Celestial Music 1960–1979, continuing the label’s exploration of expansive, time-spanning musical journeys.

Just before dropping the 3rd chapter in his "Threesome" series, Hus Kingpin surprises us with a brand new EP on which he gets out of his comfort zone, rapping on some chill hop beats provided by Wun Two and Made In M, once again proving the versatile and creative MC he's always been! The second volume of this series is as good as the first with more finely tuned twilight dubs and Balearic chuggers, expertly curated by a master of this form in Pete Herbert. Across two sides, the comp flows between low-slung grooves, deep synth atmospheres and sun-kissed dancefloor moments. Highlights include Statues' warming 'Andromeda' and a powerful synth-driven turn from Imogen Soundsystem, while side two leans further into Balearic romance, from Herbert's nostalgic 'At Zuka to Kasper Bjorke's proto-dancefloor elegance. In recent years, Midge Ure has spent his time playing live and not has time to fully immerse himself in the studios creating music To that end A Man of Two Worlds is his first album of new material in 12 years. Well worth the wait, the album is a formidable collection of outstanding music, divided into two clear parts.

The first half, World One: Music, consists of eight instrumental pieces, while the second half, World Two: Songs, features eight vocal songs. This concept was partly inspired by the time Midge spent during lockdown listening to instrumental music whilst presenting THE SPACE on Scala Radio. Hearing music that rarely finds a home on mainstream radio, he set about making something without lyrics, where the melodies had to speak for themselves. The eight vocal songs which form the second part of the album, came to Midge as the world reopened. A more divided world, in many ways a much harder and less empathetic one. Sharing an atmosphere with the preceding instrumentals, these songs are incredibly sparse and meditative, and whilst they are subtle, with some songs dealing with the frailty of the human condition, underlying many songs reflect Midge's concerns for the discord infecting world today.

Missing Link was produced by longtime ally Niek Van Den Driesschen and recorded at Far Out Sound Studios in Rotterdam - the Dutch city where the band's bassist Marrit Meinema and drummer Leon Harms reside as singer Jeroen and guitarist Peter continue to live further north in Groningen, where the band started out. It was mastered by Melbourne-based Mikey Young, who works mostly with garage, psych and punk (Amyl and the Sniffers, Preoccupations, The Chats)

Recorded on December 29, 1978 at the Château d'Hérouville with Jean-Louis Rassinfosse on bass, Jeff Brillinger on drums and Phil Markowitz on piano, then mixed at Studios Davout on December 8, 1979, Two A Day has not been reissued on vinyl since 1980. This little-known but remarkable album from Chet Baker brings together instrumental and vocal tracks, all infused with the swing and emotional depth that define his finest recordings. To fully highlight the qualities of this masterful session, a high-quality remastering has been carried out, restoring the warmth and intimacy of the legendary Château d'Hérouville studios, which also hosted artists such as David Bowie and Pink Floyd. The LP edition features hot gold foil numbering.

Born in Brixton and now based in Harlem, Ruben Fox has emerged as a major presence on the international jazz scene, renowned for the depth of his sound, the emotional clarity of his ballad playing, and a voice rooted in tradition while speaking firmly in the present. His work follows collaborations with artists including Wynton Marsalis, Barry Harris, Roy Hargrove, Jon Batiste, and George Coleman, and builds on the critical acclaim of his 2021 debut Introducing Ruben Fox.

Micah Thomas is one of the most celebrated pianists of his generation, praised for a style that is both restlessly inventive and deeply grounded in the history of the music. A Jerome L. Greene Fellow and Juilliard alumnus, Thomas has worked extensively with Immanuel Wilkins, Joshua Redman, Ambrose Akinmusire, and Billy Drummond, and has been recognised by DownBeat, Jazz Magazine, and The New York City Jazz Record as a defining contemporary voice. Fox and Thomas first developed their musical relationship while studying at Juilliard, where they regularly played duo sets. In Two Minds was recorded on a whim at Chris Pattishall's apartment in Washington Heights, with no rehearsal, no edits, and no agenda beyond mutual respect, listening, and shared musical values. Over three hours, the pair simply showed up and played.

The result is an intimate, conversational record that foregrounds generosity, empathy, and deep musical listening. Sparse, direct, and emotionally rich, In Two Minds offers a rare document of two artists meeting in real time, balancing history, intellect, warmth, and spontaneity.

Nachdem sie sich schon fast 20 Jahre kannten, schien die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Nick Sanborn und Chris Rosenau irgendwie vorprogrammiert, kam aber eher zufällig zustande - bei einem Musikfestival in Eaux Claires, wo die Chemie sofort stimmte. Während sie probten, merkten sie, dass sie schon dabei waren, ein Album aufzunehmen. Sie behielten die Arbeitsmixe und Titel bei, auch die Vogelstimmen und Verkehrsgeräusche, die ins Mikrofon kamen. Das Ergebnis war ,Bluebird" aus dem Jahr 2019, ein kleines Wunderwerk mit fünf Titeln, bei dem man das Gefühl hatte, mit ihnen im Raum zu sitzen und zu lächeln, während sie ihre wortlose Harmonie fanden.Zwei Jahre später trafen sich Rosenau (Volcano Choir, Collections of Colonies of Bees) und Sanborn (Sylvan Esso, Made of Oak) wieder. Es gab einen Fehlstart, der hier erhalten geblieben ist, aber was folgte, war eine erhabene Morgenmelodie, als würde man müde aufwachen und von dem plötzlichen Licht draußen überwältigt werden. Es ist der Klang des Erwachens zum Leben und der Liebe zu diesem Leben, und es ist das kleine Juwel in der Mitte der sechs Songs, die sie an diesem Wochenende aufgenommen haben, die sechs Songs, die hier in der Reihenfolge präsentiert werden, in der sie entstanden sind. Sie beendeten ,Two" kurz bevor Rosenau zum Flughafen aufbrach; es ist ein langer Abschied, süß und sentimental und traurig, ein letztes Gespräch zwischen zwei Freunden, die ihre gemeinsame Zeit genossen haben. Soul Quest present the second edition of their Quest Series, a vinyl compilation featuring tracks that have previously only had digital releases. First up, label co-founder Max Sinàl once again teams up with label mainstay KingCrowney with ‘All Night’, a bumpy dance floor friendly groover featuring Yasmin on vocals. The track also samples an extract from Moodymann’s famous Red Bull interview, with clearance and blessings from the main man himself. Next up we have a track taken from Colm K’s ep released in the summer, ‘A Red Line In A Blue Sky’ remixed by another of the labels co-founders, Slxm Sol.

Deep, sexy grooving house with well placed vocal samples that keeps you zoned in from beginning to end. Flipping over to the b-side, we start off with Real Love Seeker x BB James with ‘I Want You’. Distinctive London flavours spoken through broken beat grooves and BB James’ captivating lyrics, ending with a gorgeous synth solo. Finally Stefan Ringer brings some ATL flavours to Berkeley Hunt’s ‘Wicked Sins’. Stefan twists the original in to a dark, enchanting roller, using the haunting vocals over a percussive groove with perfectly placed synths weaving themselves in and out.

This double LP of instrumental Hindustani, Carnatic and folk 78rpm shellac records from India comes with a full color 12-page insert of gramophone record ephemera, shops, labels, manufacturing details and graphics. The LPs feature over 25 artists recorded between 1904 and 1959 playing a panoply of instruments: jalatarang, dilruba, sarod, clarionet, pakhawaj, violin, been, kazoo, shehnai, tabla, sarangi, sitar, vina and more.
Artists include Imdad Khan (the first sitarist ever recorded), Ahmedjan Thirkhawa, Bundu Khan, Amir Hussain, Allauddin Khan (who taught Ravi Shankar), and others both forgotten and revered.
The Indian classical instrumental tradition is one of incredible proficiency and expressiveness using instruments and techniques created over generations that seem to perfectly and uniquely compliment Indian culture, landscape and tradition. Sympathetic strings resonate inside sitars and sarangis to manifest shimmering reverberant spiritual spaces; horns, reeds and flutes extend the range, volume and melodic inventiveness of the voice; a mind-boggling array of elaborately turned percussion instruments allow for rhythms as complex or as simple as the flowing Ganges river. Classical music in India was perhaps at its height during the 78rpm period as the Raj era was ending and the world was globalizing.

Originally released in 2015, HITNRUN Phase Two features a mix of funk, soul, and rock, showcasing standout tracks like “Baltimore,” “Stare,” and “Rocknroll Loveaffair.”

Forked tongue stuffed deep in their cheek and rubber baby masks stretched over their heads, Ty & the Muggers bottle the free spirits of the Emotional Mugger tour, then heave them into the audience on this stomping BBC performance from 2016. Gloriously guttural and blown-out sonics support Ty"s all-to-the-wall vocal performances on every song. "LIVE" "AT" "THE" "BBC" puts the "sick" back into "satiric" and the "the fuh!?!" back into "FUN!". One side has all the music, the other side"s got a rendering of the babyman mask that"s haunted so many punters over long nights of the soul since then.

Swiss sound artist Zimoun returns two long-form works sculpted entirely from the Wind Dynamic Organ (Prototype III) in Bern. Built by Daniel Glaus and his team at the Bern Academy of the Arts, this one-of-a-kind instrument transforms air into something palpable and tactile - wind pressure, airflow and tone are all fluid while shaping sound that shimmers between breath and vibration. Zimoun spent years recording and experimenting with it, coaxing warm, resonant tones, and what results is immersive and uncanny. His vast reverberations and slow-moving harmonics seem to breathe and explore a new frontier in acoustic minimalism.

Two Intersecting Loops of Silence is a 10-inch experimental vinyl that turns silence into rhythm and time into matter. Side A features two silent grooves that create a mechanical ticking when played, while Side B animates a clock-like etched drawing as the record spins. Numbered edition of 200 with hand-printed, unique etching covers. Each copy a one-of-a-kind artwork.

Futura Resistenza is pleased to present the latest release from the prolific, restlessly creative composer-performer Anthony Pateras, two side-long pieces - one performed by Callum G'Froerer on double-bell trumpet, the other sung by Clara La Licata - in which soloists are accompanied by numerous pre-recorded tracks of their own instrument or voice, creating acoustic halls of mirrors where the distinction between live performer and recorded accompaniment becomes difficult to perceive. Palimpsest Geometry (2020) for double-bell trumpet & tape works with rapidly pulsed single trumpet notes, at brisk tempos that hover at the perceptual threshold between rhythm and tremolo. The interaction between different rates of pulse produces skittering echoes, as if G'Froerer's layers of trumpets were really a single sound bouncing around the sonic space. There Is A Danger Only Our Mistakes Are New (2021) for voice & tape goes to work on a see-sawing two-note melodic cell, insistently transposed and transposed again, hummed or sung with open vowels, contracting to a semitone and expanding to a minor third. More than anything in the canon of Western art music, the piece calls up the criss-crossing repeated figures of Inuit vocal games or the interlocking repetitions of Banda-Linda music, where rhythmic and harmonic displacements of repeated motifs fuse together individual parts into the illusion of an impossibly rich and multi-faceted unitary sonic organism. Essentially homogeneous in texture yet built up from constantly changing details, broadly static yet always moving and shifting, these pieces exemplify Pateras' recent work while also pushing it into a new, strikingly immediate direction. Here, form grows organically out of the material itself; the results are sparkling, immersive, and quietly uncompromising. (Francis Plagne)

Roughly three years after the release of Balts, Schreel Van De Velde’s debut album on Blickwinkel, the guitar and drums improv-centered duo is happy to present their sophomore album A One And A Two.

The Brussels-based musicians sound more decisive than ever: the loud became louder, the quiet became quieter, the weird became weirder and the nostalgic became more nostalgic. The fruit peeled off one of its own shells, getting closer to its heart.

The album came about as a result of 2 separate studio sessions. For a first one, they restricted themself to solely electric guitar and drums, without overdubs, and with most songs ending up as one-takers. A second one took place some months later in a different recording space, using classical guitar with a matching small, cute drum set-up.

On both sessions, the duo played the same compositions, with some additional improvisations. Afterwards they made a blend of both sessions, mixing both energies: A One And A Two. A new language, organic and well-considered, was found.

Throughout the album, touches of minimalism, American primitivism, free-improv, and 90s indie rock can be found, but always within the limits of Schreel Van De Veldes freshly found voice: one that combines sentiment and cerebrality, overview, playfulness and mystery.

Lucas Schreel is a classically trained guitarist based in Brussels. His first solo album We're Never Afraid of Getting Up Every Morning was released through Sentimental Records in 2019 and was well-received both in written-press (Humo, Enola & Indiestyle) and radio (Duyster, Radio 1 & Klara). Besides his solo work, Schreel is also a member of the lo-fi indierockband Kloothommel.
Acclaimed Brussels percussionist Casper Van De Velde made quite a name for himself through his bands like SCHNTZL, Bombataz, Donder among others. His work received prices at International Jazz Contest d’Avignon and Storm! Contest (Jazzlab). Casper is currently also a member of the recently formed An Pierlé Quartet.
