Roberto Carlos Lange alias Helado Negro liefert mit "PHASOR" den Nachfolger zu seinem von der Kritik gelobten Album "Far In" (2021)ab. Gleichzeitig erscheint die erste Single "LFO", die von einem halluzinatorischen, selbstgedrehten offiziellen Video begleitet wird. Den Anfang nahm "PHASOR" 2019 an Langes 39. Geburtstag nach einem fünfstündigen Besuch von Salvatore Matiranos SAL MAR-Projekt an der Universität von Illinois. Diese Maschine ist ein komplexer Synthesizer, der mit einem alten Supercomputergehirn und analogen Oszillatoren generativ Musik erzeugt. Er kann eine unendliche Anzahl von Klangsequenzen erzeugen. Diese SAL MAR-Erfahrung wurde zum Grundstein für PHASOR. Sie lehrte Lange mehr über sich selbst und wurde zu einem zentralen Faktor in seinem kreativen Prozess. "PHASOR" ist Langes dichteste Song-Sammlung - tiefgründig, atmosphärisch, akribisch ausgeführt. Damit reiht es sich ein in das langjährige Schaffen Langes sowie an das 2019er Album "This Is How You Smile", auf dem er mehr Schlagzeug und Bass und fokussierte Grooves einsetzte. Sein Album "Far In" aus dem Jahr 2021 befasste sich mit dem Thema "Quarantäne". Fay Hallam is a hugely respected Hammond organist, singer and songwriter.She first came to
prominence in Wolverhampton Mod-popsters, Makin' Time, in the early 1980's, along with a Martin Blunt.
She and Martin, along with drummer John Brookes, then went on to form The Gift Horses, which were the
embryonic beginnings of The Charlatans, which Martin and John then went on to form. Fay’s next project
was as the vocalist and organist in the now legendary, Prime Movers, including the 'Earth Church' LP,
which was hailed by the now-defunct Sounds Music Weekly, as LP of the year. Since then, Fay has gone
on to make over 10 albums, as Phaze, The Fay Hallam Trinity, and then as a solo artist

In NIJI’s own words : “Somewhere in the Middle represents so many things for me personally. I’m born to Nigerian parents but raised in East London, there’s a duality of influences. I’m a middle child – I’ve always done my own thing and had a unique perspective as a middle child. I’m split between London and New York – two places I love.

London shaped me growing up, New York is where I became an adult and truly myself, and settled in who I am. Not to mention all the musical influences my heritage, London-life & music career has enabled me to have. Today, NIJI, is somewhere in the middle of all of this. Very present force but can’t be placed in a box. This EP represents that blend, somewhere in the middle.”

":Duett" - der Name ist Programm auf diesem Album, dem zweiten aus dem Hause ASP. Endlich kommen die Fans in den Genuss, auch dieses Werk als limitierte Picture-Vinyl ihr eigen nennen zu dürfen. Nicht nur verhalf das zweite Kapitel des Zyklus den Musikern zum finalen Durchbruch auf den Tanzflächen der Schwarzen Szene, es brachte damals auch viel Licht in die Geschichte rund um den Schwarzen Schmetterling. So wurde die Rahmenstory vor allem in der trancigen "Kleinen Ballade vom Schwarzen Schmetterling" erläutert (und von Pit Hammann im gleichnamigen Bilderbuch kongenial bebildert), und in "Versuchung" wohnt die Zuhörerschaft der Zwiesprache zwischen zwei Wesen bei, die nicht mit- und auch nicht ohne einander können. Eine Zerrissenheit, die vielen Hörern eine ebenso nachvollziehbare wie spannende Reise ins eigene Ich ermöglichte.

Auch das energetische "Kokon" - wie der Rest des Albums noch stark vom elektronischen Sound der Anfangstage geprägt - erhielt einen Ehrenplatz in den Herzen der Fans und stellt besonders im Live-Kontext einen veritablen Nackenbrecher dar. Weitere All-Time-Fan-Favourites wie das epische "Schwarz" oder das zornige "Besessen" runden das Gesamtkunstwerk ab und belegen schon zu Beginn ihrer Karriere die musikalische und textliche Vielseitigkeit des ASP'schen Œuvres.

Und all dies begann mit der Frage, die nach über zwei Jahrzehnten aktueller scheint denn je: "Hast du mich vermisst?" - denn die Musiklandschaft braucht heute dringender als je zuvor einen musikalischen Geschichtenerzähler, der es schafft, mehr als nur Hintergrundbeschallung zu liefern, nämlich ein klangliches Refugium für alle, die mehr suchen als nur Oberflächlichkeiten und Wohlfühlgedudel.

Doch auch wenn der Stil der Band sich weiterentwickelt hat und die Themen- und Bilderwelten immer stärker ausgeweitet wurden - jedem Anfang wohnt ein Zauber inne, und Songs wie "Schwarzer Schmetterling" und "Und wir tanzten (Ungeschickte Liebesbriefe)" dürfen auch heute noch, nach über zwei Dekaden, auf kaum einer Setlist fehlen. Publikum und Musiker ergehen sich auf Konzerten gleichermaßen in Emotionalität und Bedeutsamkeit dieser Lieder. Und auch weitere Hits wie "Sing Child" oder "Where Do the Gods Go?" erfreuen sich nach all den Jahren - unter anderem ihrer ausgesprochenen Tanzbarkeit wegen - außerordentlicher Beliebtheit. Das belegt den Kultcharakter dieses Erstlingswerkes und des ersten Kapitels des Schmetterlingszyklus.

Oxford indie-folk quartet Stornoway followed up their celebrated 2010 debut album, Beachcomber"s Windowsill, in 2013 with Tales From Terra Firma. Ten this year, Tales From Terra Firma is an album of stories - birth, death, marriage and coming of age. Featuring the singles "The Bigger Picture" and "Farewell Appalachia", it was recorded and produced by the band in the main at their own Oxford space, bringing in mix engineer George Shilling (having loved his work with Teenage Fanclub, a huge infl uence on them) midway to help them achieve their vision. It worked too. By being true to themselves and remaining oblivious to outside infl uences, they made a truly special album where life is unfurled for the listener. The Guardian said in their full marks review that there"s "no curse of the second album for Stornoway, who"ve stretched out without losing sight of the intimacy of their charming debut." For its sleeve, the band worked with the artist Kirini Kopcke who used fragments of lyrics as her start point to create a picture for each "tale" on the album, presenting a strip cartoon-like depiction of the adventures in the life of the main protagonist.

THE SKINFLICKS sind zurück und bleiben es auch. Die Themen der Songtexte fallen diesmal sehr persönlich aus, was jedoch nicht heißen soll, dass an der für die Band typischen, bitteren Gesellschaftskritik, gepaart mit bitterem Humor, gespart werden würde. Vom Opener-Hit "This is the crew" an wird klar: ihr seid eingeladen auf eine Rauf-Tour mit den 4 Jungs, und sie nehmen euch mit in ihre Welt.
So spaziert ihr mit ihnen durch ihre Heimatviertel, welche in unheilbarem Wandel begriffen sind mit "Gentrified for your sins", ihr singt mit zum Takt der häuslichen Gewalt mit "Blood and glass", ihr begegnet feigen Schreibtischtätern in "Tin Pot soldiers", welche verdeckt Schüsse aus der vermeintlichen Sicherheitszone vor ihren Computerschirme aus abfeuern. Ihr schaut der Crew dabei zu, wie sie mit persönlichen Gegnern sowie mit der Gesellschaft im Allgemeinen direkt abrechnet in "Get on yer bus", "Fuck all", "Bored" und anderen. Ihr werdet selbst zur Ordnung gerufen in "Teach 'em the law" und ihr erhaltet volle Unterstützung mit "Stand fast".

Busta Rhymes bereitet sich auf die Veröffentlichung seines 11. Studioalbums vor, das erste seit "Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath Of God", das 2020 erschien.
