Terrestrial Funk presents a piece of Detroit history. Born and raised in Motor City, Karl Fultz knew at the age of twelve that he wanted to be the most talented and successful DJ in the world. In 1999 he released on Juan Atkins’ Metroplex under the alias People Mover and in 2000 he released as Black Electric on Puzzlebox. Inspired by British synth-pop duo Eurythmics, Fultz says Black Electric was a way to get more women involved in the techno movement. Together alongside vocalists Tiffany Elliott, Kim Glover & Talena Fultz, Black Electric brought sex appeal to the scene. Their first and only release stays in demand and has become inaccessible until now. Terrestrial Funk’s reissue provides two fresh cuts on the new 12”; ‘Purple’ a chugging Detroit acid track describing soul modification to enhance intimacy and a proper bassed out club mix of the nasty electro sex song ‘Work That’, which was only featured as an acapella on the original release. The release also features updated mixes of both the title track and the half-time anthem 'Come To Me' alongside the original y2k mix of 'Colors'. Black Electric stands as a testament to turn of the millennia Detroit and the city’s undying devotion to expand our connection to music.

Isometric is an upcoming hardgroove album by Slovenian DJ and producer UMEK and his hardgroove alter-ego Polyvinyl, released on his own imprint 1605 GROOVESECTOR.

The album features a blend of groove-infused tracks, including originals like Isometric, Unlockable Formations, Mechanically Intensive, and Da Flute.

UMEK, born Uros Umek in Ljubljana, Slovenia, is a techno pioneer who kickstarted Slovenia's electronic music scene with illegal raves in the early '90s. With over three decades of influence, he's released on labels like Drumcode, Filth on Acid and Tronic. As the founder of 1605, UMEK has shaped the genre with hits like "Lanicor" and "Gatex," consistently topping Beatport charts. His relentless production and 100+ annual gigs-from Berlin's underground clubs to festivals like EDC, Ultra and Creamfields-cement his status as a global techno ambassador.

Founded by UMEK in 2007, 1605 Music Therapy boasts over 300 releases, featuring artists like Sam
Wolfe, Maddix, and Space 92. The hardgroove sublabel 1605 GROOVESECTOR was founded in 2024 to give home to UMEK's groovier creations and his alter-ego Polyvinyl, as well as other artists, such as the legendary Hertz and a fast-rising Khabiar.

Available in both vinyl and digital formats, the project continues UMEK's long-standing contribution to the techno scene through rhythmic grooves and club-ready energy.

Much like the fusion resulting in the output of light and heat within a star, the last seven years for Dave Sumner, aka Function, have been defined by immense change and an outpouring of creative energy. What began in late 2016 as a period of burnout from a relentless touring life became a catalyst for the most prolific recording era of his career. At the time, the studio became the only viable escape, a space to transmute exhaustion into a gestalt work.
Aeternum (Existenz) serves as the missing element in this creative arc. It acts as the final chapter of a cycle, that began with the 2019 album Existenz and moved through Subject f (Transcendence), Awakening from the Illusory Self, and Green EP. Drawing inspiration from the seven stages of alchemy, this mini-album represents a cathartic process; a natural end point of a psychological cycle and the beginning of a new curve.
Across the six tracks on the mini-LP, recorded 2016-2019, Function builds a unique world, one which underlines his place as one of the luminaries of contemporary techno. Opening track, Ascent, traverses the space between ambient and techno; second track City Of Luz almost fades into itself across its twelve minutes before Transmutation brings around a reawakening with a beat that would not have sounded out of place on an early Rephlex or even a Sähko release. Final track on the 12”, Growth Cycle is fittingly a re-version/re-vision of a track on the Existenz LP; Robert Owens’ soulful vocal now Stefanie Parnow's floating Siren-like voice with music that feels reborn: fresh, strong and insistent. The digital pack contains two further tracks, the deep electro of November 29, as well as Rubedo, a spacial ambient track that feels like the final glowing red embers of a fire turning to ash as the sun rises to reveal a new, golden dawn.
Aeternum (Existenz) is the final chapter of the soundtrack to Function’s spiritual awakening, the closing of a door and the clearing of a path. It’s a sonic manifestation of the Magnum Opus completed, a moment of total integration, where the leaden weight of the journey is finally perfected into the incorruptible gold of the spirit.
It is dedicated to John Mendez, aka Silent Servant, Sumner’s dear friend and lifelong collaborator.

2026 Repress

Samosa Records swings back into action for the summer months with Afrikano Vol. 1 - a scintillating four tracker EP from Various Artists which you will fall in love with on the first listen.

On the A-side, the always impressive Vagabundo Club Social kick things off with the enigmatically titled ‘Mr. Mista’ - a hypnotic, (almost calypso inspired) rhythmic explosion of Mibra guitar, whirling organ, horns and a wicked high end laser sweep. This is a pure chugger, folks. At a deceptive 120bpm it will have you dancing til dusk.

A2 brings us ‘Sweet Dance’ where C. Da Afro met De Gama: after a brief shuffle beat start (liberally peppered with rhythm guitar and organ stabs), the unusual duo make sure it’s all about the beat and horn breakdowns. Pre-drinks in Lagos, people watching and waiting for the night to start is the order of the day here. Cut this in half and it has ‘summer’ stamped right through it. Gloriously sweet.


On the B-Side, Atchoum & Grincheux take centre stage with ‘Demokoussé’. Les Inferno applies the special retouch here, and straight away we’re treated to a gloriously produced trip through breakbeat inspired beats, deep, throaty horns and an outrageously soaring sax. Oh you want more? Well try the addition of the gorgeous spiritual vocals that put the bow nicely on this African sizzler.

Finishing the EP on B.2 is Lego Edit and the aptly titled ‘Afromaniaco’. A pulsating, horn inspired shaker, this track grabs you right by the beat bone from the off and won’t let go. Lego Edit’s trademark deft touches and attention to detail is all on display here - sweet sounding African vocals weave in and out of the almost melancholy horn stabs and washboard beats. A soundtrack for one of those incredible sunsets, ‘Afromaniaco’ is the missing piece of this diverse jigsaw.

With Afrikano Vol. 1, Samosa Records has found the perfect accompaniment to what is hopefully a long, hot summer. So Samosa, so brilliant.

Digi Dub re-enter the vinyl world with a handful of archival 10” releases, the first collating tracks harvested from four releases which originally came out in the early 90s.

The Aliens EP provides a perfect showcase of the adventurous and experimental approach that the label took at a time when breakbeat hardcore was starting to fragment. Taking none of the paths that their peers took, the artists in the Digi Dub stable infused their breakbeat science with a playful dubwise methodology to create idiosyncratic dance music operating at the interstice between modern dub mechanics and rave dynamics that was a premonition of much of the experimental bass music that the UK has become known for.

The first track comes from the trio L.S. Diezel whose Alien In The Woods marries cosmic interference with a steppers reinforced breakbeat and a tough digital bassline. The Diezel boys are joined by label owner Lee Berwick under his Launch DAT pseudonym for the second track Rougher Than A Lion. Beginning with what sounds like a sort of distorted tribal ritual, the track erupts into a symphony of skittering breakbeats, processed jazz lines, bursts of acid and discombobulated ragga chat.

On the second side the collaboration between Diezel and DAT continues with Poor Mans Glory that sees a weighty sped-up funk break allied with a suitably robust dub bassline overlaid with bursts of rasta invocation rattling around in the echo chamber. L.S. Diezel’s Get Your Spear Out rounds out the package with a clangorous proto-dubstep breaker forging the link between a Jah Shaka dance and Horsepower Productions.

With the original 12s now rare as rocking horse shit, grab yourself a 10” and make your bass bins smile.

Kyoto-based Stones Taro is a producer and DJ who has established a unique standing within the global dance music scene. After operating the NC4K label since 2017, he embarks on a new challenge by launching his own self-release series.

The inaugural release, titled "Foglore," is characterized by its foggy sound design and timeless arrangements reminiscent of folk tales.

In this four-track release, Stones Taro explores a fresh interpretation of the fusion between Dub, Techno, and Deep House. These tracks capture the essence of contemporary music in intriguing ways, yet feel as familiar as if they have existed since ancient times.

The club-ready cut blends marries inviting darkness with meticulous synth craft.

Seasoned electronic favourite Sasha and contemporary trailblazer Franky Wah have shown great creative chemistry in both the studio and the DJ booth: their fi rst hook-up was on Last Night On Earth back in 2020 when they dropped the huge four-track 'Haunted EP.' Since then, they’ve reunited for multiple b2b sets across the globe - from Sydney to Ibiza. Now they have once more combined their respective nous into a new track destined to become an Ibiza anthem this summer.

'Get On My Level' is primed and ready to shake up the dance fl oor. It's powered by a warped, dark bassline that throbs underneath subtle percussion. Plenty of open space lets a moody atmosphere draw you in, while skeletal drums and percussion keep things moving before a big drop, and wispy synths inject future energy as a grainy, ominous voice lurks in the shadows. Dub and instrumental versions are also included to cover all bases.

A-side is Bill Withers' Harlem, taken from a rare recording and reworked into a slower, DJ-friendly version that really opens it up.

On the flip is FPI Project's Everybody Around The World, completely rebuilt from scratch, slowed down and driven by the piano. A real Balearic, feel-good summer record.

Four, soul-feeding edits drop just in time for sunshine. ‘Harlem’ serves up a light-touch edit approach, preserving the original street-corner poetry of ‘Harlem’ - with two versions supplied: Mix one for DJs with a clean intro and outro, plus an alternative second version with a tempo shift and fade. Backed with unmistakable, loved-up and iconic poolside pianos – ‘Everybody (All Over The World)’ now stripped into a global Balearic pulse: built for sunlit dancefloors & late-night gatherings.

Curated by Brian d'Souza (aka Auntie Flo), Plants Can Dance is a forthcoming new compilation bringing together a global community of artists, exploring the creative possibilities of biosonification - transforming signals from plants, ecosystems and the natural world into sound. Out June 26th, the project marks the culmination of several years of d'Souza’s work across music, ecology and technology.

The album arrives at a time when more artists are turning toward nature as both subject and collaborator, such as Brian Eno’s Earth Percent, which formally recognises “Nature” as an artist. Plants Can Dance sits within a wider cultural shift, which is redefining the relationship between sound and the living world.

The project builds on several years of work by d'Souza, whose Plants Can Dance events have taken place across the UK, Europe, India and Africa, appearing in institutions including the V&A, Tate and the Design Museum. What began as a series of intimate gatherings has since evolved into a global platform, reflecting a growing appetite for work that reconnects music with the natural world.

The compilation features contributions from leading practitioners including Modern Biology (Tarun Nayar) in collaboration with saxophonist Zekarias Musele Thompson, OMMA (Olga Maximovam founder of Playtronica), Jason Singh, Dr Helen Anahita Wilson, Justin Wiggan in collaboration with celebrated Norwegian jazz musician Arve Henriksen, Lamine Touré, Bit Marten and Balam, alongside new work from d'Souza himself. Using a range of tools - from commercially available devices to bespoke modular systems - artists translate electrical activity, environmental data and organic processes into musical material.

The processes behind each piece differ - from interpreting plant biodata to translating wind patterns into compositional structures - and the results are as varied as they are compelling. The record spans ambient, jazz, electronica and modern classical, yet all pieces are unified by a shared intent: to reimagine music as a space of collaboration between human and more-than-human worlds.

At the core of Plants Can Dance is a question about how we define music, and how we choose to listen. Traditional musical forms, with their fixed tempos and predictable structures, give way here to something more fluid and less easily controlled. The listener is invited to surrender expectation and engage with sound as an evolving environment rather than a linear narrative. In this context, the compositions function as what d'Souza describes as “acoustic ecologies” - sonic systems shaped by biological, environmental and elemental forces unfolding in real time.

Accompanying the release is a printed zine offering reflections from each artist, and deeper insight into the ideas and debates surrounding this practice. Rather than presenting definitive answers, Plants Can Dance positions itself as an artistic exploration grounded in curiosity, experimentation and critical thought.

Ultimately, Plants Can Dance is less concerned with proving whether plants “make music” than with changing how we listen. By inviting audiences to engage with sound shaped by non-humans, it opens up new ways of perceiving the environments we inhabit - not as passive backdrops, but as active, dynamic participants in a shared ecological network. In doing so, it offers a quietly radical proposition: that by listening differently, we might begin to relate to the natural world differently too.

Globally adored Spanish techno protagonist Indira Paganotto releases her debut album 'Arte Como Amante' via ARTCORE / PIAS Électronique. It brings together thirteen fearless tracks that stretch way beyond any one genre. It's high-pressure, high-energy, and deeply personal. A full-spectrum dive into the world of one of electronic music's most dynamic artists.

It follows a huge 2025. She debuted at Coachella. Played her first ever b2bs with Armin van Buuren at Sonar and Sara Landry at EXIT. She became the first woman to close Monegros. She held down her first Club Room residency at Hï Ibiza for 14 weeks, and even launched her own creative studio space, ARTOPIA, in Santa Eulalia. Her label ARTCORE the home of this special album also took their presence in the dance world to the next level with their own curated stages at Tomorrowland, Mysteryland and Dreambeach.

Now, she's telling her story. The title 'Arte Como Amante' means 'art as a lover'. For Indira, that's not just a phrase. It's her life. This album has been 14 years in the making. It began in Madrid in 2012, when she was 19, and was completed in 2024. She waited for the right moment. She lived life. She collected experiences. She built the sound. "I know to take 14 years to make an album seems crazy," she says, "but without living those experiences, how could I have made the music about them?"

The result is a diverse, adrenaline-fuelled body of work that hits hard and moves deep.

Tokyo's Realrockdesign collective marks a full 30 years of cross-disciplinary creativity with the first of a planned trilogy. The A-side hands over a crown jewel from West Coast legend DJ Garth's Grayhound catalogue in 'Twenty Minutes Of Disco Glory', which gets remixed by DJ Harvey with a slow, deep, dark and come-to-me groove with a fizzy motif lingering like a trapped bee. The flip turns to German veteran Nectar, who is enjoying some deserved time back in the spotlight and shows why here: 'Fairy Trails' is a deliciously psychedelic descent into the underworld that perfectly befits its title. Originally released in 1996 Feel The Music was Paul's second album for Peacefrog Records. Containing some of the classiest house music to hail from the Windy City. Classics such A Little Suntin Suntin , Summer Heat and I Wonder Why will have you smiling while you’re jackin’ and the irresistible and infectious Hear The Music was fthe opening track for Daft Punks legendary Radio 1 Essential Mix.

Next up in our Cuban Classics series, one of the jewels of record label Areito’s extensive and sought-after catalogue. Ricardo Eddy Martinez’s Expreso Ritmico from 1978 is a prized album fusing funk, disco, and orchestrated influences with Afro-Cuban percussion, Latin breaks, and lush vocal harmonies.

Whilst maintaining its distinctive Cuban identity, Expreso Ritmico is one of the more American / Western-influenced Cuban titles of the time drawing inspiration from jazz funk, disco, and library music. The album was directed, written, and orchestrated by keyboardist and drummer Ricardo Eddy Martinez, who was also the mastermind behind the orchestration of the Los Reyes 73 album (that was recently reissued by Mr Bongo). Martinez would later go on to work with international musicians and singers such as Gloria Estefan, José Feliciano, Chick Corea, and many more, whilst also working as a sound engineer in the US.

Produced by Adolfo Pichardo, who worked on much of Areito’s output, Expreso Ritmico is packed with gold. The opening title track carries a loose, breezy Latin-disco-funk vibe that breaks into a brilliant Afro-Cuban workout. ‘Que La Tristeza Se Fue’ was expertly sampled and looped by Jazzanova on their 2008 song ‘Look What You Are Doing To Me, featuring Phonte from the hip hop group Little Brother. Elsewhere, ‘Tambo Iya’ has an Afro-funk, Soul Makossa-esque groove, while tracks such as ‘Te Quedas’, ‘Mi Conga Es La Que Es’ and ‘La 132’ run with a heavy pulsating Latin-funk sound. Head to the sultry psych funk of ‘Este Tumbao’ for a spacey journey that blends and morphs through genres.

The moment the instantly recognizable intertwined guitar passage on the title track to the Eagles' Hotel California begins, the record's genius becomes obvious all over again. Ranked the 118th Greatest Album of All Time by Rolling Stone, certified by RIAA as the third best-selling LP in history, and considered the foundation on which the Golden State's mid-‘70s music scene was built, the 1976 landmark is a music staple immune to shifts in trends, eras, and styles. Bella Boo lands on Aus Music with a mix of party-starting and heart-racing house jams

Swedish artist KURT. brings her characterful style to the title cut

Bella Boo has lit up the house world since breaking through in 2018. She has become a Studio Barnhus mainstay with a sound that is both emotional and energetic in the way it contrasts light and dark. It's built on solid grooves with fresh sound designs and has taken her to dj everywhere from Panorama Bar to Printworks. Her debut LP, as well as follow-up EPs, have seen her nominated for several Swedish Grammys and seen her profile grow around the world. KURT. is a rising star from Stockholm with an electric sound that blends club, r&b, pop and soul. It's high on attitude and laced with her own provocative vocals. he all-time house music legend Roger Sanchez drops his brand new studio album ‘Spectrum’ - his first in twenty years. Previewed by three high-energy bangers - ‘Grinnin’ (with Fedde LeGrand), ‘Come My Way’ and ‘Temptation’ (with Low Steppa, featuring Ragdoll) - the record features the new focus track ‘How Do We Say Goodbye’, a collab with Karen Harding.

The globally celebrated and Grammy-winning DJ, producer and label head has been working on the album for years, much of it during his time in Shoreditch which has informed its euphoric UK summer sonic influences. But its diverse tracks reflect a spectrum of sounds, from pulsating club tracks to dancefloor fillers, through to more emotional moments and atmospheric elements. Lyrically it’s also the result of translating his personal experiences into song.

Roger says, “I’ve been working on this for the past six years, so it’s definitely a labour of love. During that time I got the chance to travel around the world and work with some amazing vocalists and songwriters to help me bring this project to life. I’ve got flavours from the UK, Spain, the US - all of this is part of the spectrum for. This project is about music and frequencies and light: so everything from the light to the soulful to the club-ready infrared, the emotionally-weighted ultraviolet. The new focus track ‘How Do We Say Goodbye’ was created with the topline extraordinaire and always in-demand collaborator Karen Harding, whose all-star credits include work with MNEK, Armand Van Helden, Rudimental, Wilkinson and many more. This might be Illegal Disco, but that doesn't mean it's bad - quite the opposite. The edits of the inimitable Monsieur Von Pratt are worth being arrested for. He knows how to tweak and toy with a well-chosen original just enough to turn up the heat without distilling any of the original, authentic vibes. 'You Can Dance' is a slinky, soulful anthem with a mid-tempo groove that will lock in anyone. 'Get Happy' has shimmering vocals that burst with joy and will get big smiles as well as big reactions. Last but not least is the gloriously upbeat and excitable disco of 'Gotta Have Lovin.' Pure fire from the Pratt, as always.

Reliance is one of the many millions (ish) of labels that UK powerhouse Burnski heads up. This one has a focus on UKG vibes and Skeptic fits right in. His EPs are so inherently playable that they always fly off the shelves and straight into sets all across Europe. This one opens with 'Swing It', a nice sleek swinger with muted vocals and neon pads. 'Funky Flava' has more grit and bite to it with some sharp percussion and rude boy vocal stabs, then 'Steppa' is all bubbly and vibey with a smooth flow and the sort of bass that will get lips curled in mock disgust. 'Lose Control' shuts down and might be the best of the lot - gloopy bass and nice round kicks with liquid melodies and a late night warmth. Pure fire.

The bells have been rung in our miniature town of Sakskøbing that has been named after the glorious town that has been existing in Denmark, as we push through thirty releases marking down the new milestone. This time the talent that has been present in our ranks, coming from Barcelona and it is Lo-Lo, a man who knows his hardware instruments like his five fingers and has brought this idea came to life. Each track has been crafted with utmost heart and fastidiousness and has a particular way of bouncing off each other in such a manner that can only make “Divide and Conquer” come to life. From driving force of peak dancefloor scorchers to the more lyrical philosophical ways of it being, it has come to what it needs to be. As a wise man said, everything is connected but then may have disappeared into oblivion for the untrained mind, with only a few lessons for us to obtain and hear.
