Our second analysis of frequencies from the void above resulted in a transmission which appears to be the legacy of an ancient intelligence. FTVA02 consists of four cuts by prolific producer Eliaz, where he presents his braided take on electro and acid house.

On the A-Side the record opens with Visitore, a slow and deep acid track which lifts off gradually. With Second Start on the A2, we have a dark and moody electro cut where the drums and textures morph seamlessly with each other.

The B-Side opens with the Coincidental Mix of Everybody In, a powerful yet twisted electro cut where the elements unhinge steadily. Finally B2, 12H/Sun, sucks us into it’s range of acid and electric sounds resulting in a dark journey through the universe.

Anthiliawaters returns to Isophlux with “Barcelona” after last surfacing in 2017 on Denmark’s Kondi imprint with the double vinyl version of “The Miles Without You” debut album. Anthiliawaters was originally produced by Shad T. Scott (Gosub) and John Wend. This time Shad goes it alone and continues the Anthiliawaters concept of deep electro / techno beats, complex melodies, and Gosub’s trademark spooky vocals.

Keeping to the original DNA of Anthiliawaters Gosub drives deep house beats with classic Chicago organs dubbed out in old school tape delays. Inspired by Miami’s radio station WRBD’s weather reports back in the 80’s Concept1 with heavy synth workouts over deep bass-lines infused with Midnight’s steel drum synths assault on the listeners ear holes. “Night Time Comes” brings the trademark spooky vocals of Gosub speaking to a girl he can’t sleep without with a response from a lead-line inspired by Miles Davis, all held together with deep dubbed bass-lines driving to Detroit style beats.

Spanish producer Pedro Vian is dreaming of the sea on “Ibillorca”, his third studio album.

Vian, whose Modern Obscure Music label is at the heart of the Barcelona electronic scene, moved to Amsterdam in 2018. While the Dutch capital has embraced this inventive producer and DJ, Vian says the new album is inspired by a feelings of absence and longing for his Mediterranean home. “On this album I explore my feelings of missing the light,” he says. “Ibillorca is a journey to a utopian island, a journey to a new state of mind.”

You can hear this displaced utopia on songs like “Can Mortera”, a dreamy reflection on house music, recorded in Ibiza in summer 2019, that brings to mind Larry Heard at his most meditative; or “Medusa” (featuring artist Rosalie Wammes), which sounds like Tangerine Dream drifting over the sea.

The Quietus called Pedro Vian’s debut album “Beautiful Things You Left Us For Memories” “the soundtrack to walking around the city at night”, while his eponymous second album was both deeply personal and more suited for the dance floor. “Ibillorca” is his Mediterranean album. “I love the Mediterranean sea,” Vian explains. “I come from there and I miss the light, the sun and the smell of the sea, so I dedicated this album to this feeling.” Fittingly, “Ibillorca”’s enigmatic cover art, painted by Spanish artist Blanca Miró, depicts the Mediterranean islands of Ibiza & Mallorca

“Ibillorca” is also Vian’s most varied release to date: “The Destiny Manifest” nods to drum and bass - albeit a touchingly Iberian take on the genre - while “Western Snow” has a hint of Erik Satie’s piano minimalism. Vian’s new home in The Netherlands also played a role in shaping “Ibillorca” .Vian recorded the album during his residency at HetHEM, a new contemporary space in Zandaam, 30 minutes from Amsterdam. “I have my studio at the top of the building, from there I can see all the boats going up and down the river IJ,” Vian says. “The art space is located in an industrial area, everything is grey, also the sky.” All the better, then, for dreaming of the sea.

LET’S be frank, it was only a matter of time before we nabbed Dan Piu. Many years in the game with his own uber-respected labels Moto Music and deepArtSounds, in demand as an artist under his many guises (Allstarr Motomusic/George Btp) and collaborative projects (The WineLambs, Zarenzeit and Theory Of Movement, which he shares with deep house don Grant aka Anthony Collins), Piu may be old school but his recent renaissance has turned many heads including ours. His analogue alchemy is right up our strasse so we are beyond thrilled to be able to present the Zurich-based producer’s Technological Singularity EP here at Hizou.

From the celestial groove-heavy Quantum Computing to the angular electronica of Robots In Rage and from the melodic techfunk of A Machine Will Never Do X to the soul-warming F#uk The World To The Core, aficionados, followers and fanboys will not be disappointed.

The Liverpool-based DJ and producer ASOK returns to DVS1's Mistress Recordings with his most diversified EP yet: "Mistress 14" unfolds ASOK's raw, analog-heavy sound aesthetic full of broken kick drum patterns, stepping basslines, and lush synths.



With 25 years of record collecting, DJing, and promoting parties around the UK, there is little of the dance music spectrum that Stu Robinson has not been involved with. The Liverpool-based artist has amassed a fine understanding of a wide array of scenes, styles and sounds from drum & bass to electro-funk, disco to house and techno – underpinned by a love of breakbeat. The music under his alias ASOK is an amalgamation of this diversity that has found favor with labels like M>O>S, Lobster Theremin, Crème Organization, and Mistress Recordings.



"Mistress 14" opens with "Space Rockets" which is a nod to his breakier love affairs without using actual breakbeats. While second track "Is Anyone" displays his take on classic Chicago House with a little Roland JD-800 euphoria thrown in. On the flip, "Last Refuge" explores driving, rhythmical techno with ASOK's typical ravey pad-like break in the middle until "The Alchemist" closes the 12-inch by laying more focus on melody and texture with a growing, always changing bassline and an ethereal synth that carries the track's energy. The digital bonus track "Apano Sin" concludes the package with a scruffy somewhere in between everything vibe.

"Mistress 14 is probably the most important EP I have ever made in terms of showing all the different things I am into. I’m difficult to pin down because I’m not really a techno DJ, or a house DJ, or anything like that. I like all forms of electronic dance music. As a DJ, I mix up old and new, familiar with unfamiliar, playing everything from Italo disco to really dark high-bpm breakbeat. As a producer, it’s not easy to put an EP together that covers a little of everything, yet still sounds cohesive. Especially considering that all my tracks were recorded in long live takes, then edited down with no ability to change parts. Sometimes that requires some pretty heavy editing, but that’s one of the good things you get when making music this way. I’m in control of the creative process, rather than feeling like some kind of colored block administrator drawing blocks out on arrangement view of my computer."

We are proud to release ‘Fortunate Isolation’ the sophomore album from Borusiade. Born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, Borusiade aka Miruna Boruzescu started DJ-ing in 2002 as one of the very few female DJs in the city’s emerging alternative clubbing scene. Influenced by a classical musical education, a bachelor in film direction and fascinated by raw electronic sounds, Borusiade first combined these universes in the construction of her DJ sets and starting 2005 also in her music production. A sound of her own has slowly crystallized, often dark with poignant bass lines, obsessive themes and by all means melodic. She has released EPs on labels like Pinkman, Unterton, Cititrax, Correspondant and Cómeme, who released her debut album ‘A Body’ in 2018.

‘Fortunate Isolation’ is perhaps Borusiade’s most personal release to date. Eight songs that capture a bystander witnessing the world as it undergoes drastic changes. We have disconnected ourselves from ecology, humanity, preservation, care for what surrounds us, for what is still alive. Borusiade adds, “| know that this place, our home has went through so many other extinctions, but | believe things will find their own way on this planet only once we are gone. Entropy creates a time-line but also a transformation - a new beginning.” The album’s sound is gloomy and powerful mixing sonic film sequences, rhythmic excursions and soothing yet obsessive vocals that touch one’s deepest senses. Lyrically the songs tackle themes of forgotten memories, spirituality, mortality, and destruction. All songs have been mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each copy is housed in a jacket designed by Eloise Leigh with decaying daguerreotypes against a rust color palette and includes an insert with lyrics.

Influenced by all styles of music possible and imaginable, we tried to offer something very varied, exploring house from several angles : from old school refreshed with groovy sounds and lines to hip-hop jams, through much more minimalists atmospheres.

This first EP is the first part of a musical creation project around Paris : this first disc is made, among other things, with various recordings made in the streets and metros of the XXth district.

On the first side, house in the rules with the Groove Boys Project : a deep track based on the 909/303 combo.

Next, Max's track, in a more electro house register, will transport you directly to Belleville with its captivating cadence.

On the other side, you will find 2 pieces that go further from the current definition of house.

First, Pasta Mool's track, in a more minimalist style, sort of progressive and atmospheric minimal-tech house, will enchant the more perched among you.

Finally, as many samples used in house are also in boom bap, Soufflé Caramel, who does not only strip tease, has concocted you a hip hop track resolutely focused on samples, kind of a bonus track that we all wanted.

German-Syrian band Shkoon will release their long-awaited debut album “Rima”, sending out a message of cultural diversity to the world. Shkoon’s concerts have attracted a diverse audience for many years, bringing together people of all religions, colors and backgrounds. For their album-tour through Germany and Switzerland, stops in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich and Zurich are planned.

Musically, the album is situated between influences of electronic downbeat, deep house, dub and hip-hop. The band members come from a variety of different musical backgrounds and have created their very own sound with a mix of influences between the Arabic and Western world. Piano, violin, synthesizers, percussion and vocals merge oriental melodies with western electronic beats, taking the listener on a journey that blurs the boundaries of cultures.

Shkoon is more than a German-Syrian live act with Arabic lyrics. In addition to their own lyrics, the band uses traditional musical folklore elements of the Arab community, which today appear more relevant than ever. The title song of the debut album is inspired by a story from Arabic folklore, in which a mother tells peaceful tales to her child as the world sinks into chaos. This song is accompanied by the singer and rapper Tareq Abu Kwaik, also known as "El Far3i", by the band
47Soul.

After the war in their home country drove the two Syrians to relocate to Germany, Ameen, Thorben and Maher met in the hanseatic city of Hamburg in 2015. During a spontaneous jam session, an unexpected energy and thus the project Shkoon emerged, which was soon followed by the release of the band’s very first EP a few months later.

During the first performances of Shkoon, a spark quickly jumped over to the audience, which soon allowed the group to play major festival stages all over Europe. Even as Shkoon’s musical expression knows no boundaries, it is not easy for the band to travel other countries, as Ameen (the vocalist) and Maher (the violinist) consistently face difficulties of getting visa documents due to their refugee status.

This is particularly lamented in Arab countries, where the band has long been celebrated as stars, for example when they played a sold-out show in Beirut for an audience of more than 3,000 people. But also in Europe, especially in Germany, there is immense enthusiasm in their fans-base is huge.

Celebrating a Decade of Dark Entries with a compilation titled ‘Tens Across The Board’. We revisit our roster and chose 10 songs from 10 bands from 10 different countries spanning the years 1981-1993. The songs flow in chronological order and have never appeared on vinyl, with 7 of the songs previously unreleased.

The compilation begins in 1981 with Parade Ground from Belgium, the duo of brothers Pierre and Jean-Marc Pauly with help from Patrick Codenys and Jean-Luc of Front 242. “The Light’s Gone” was one of their earliest experiments and employs a stark minimalism with modular synthesizers, guitar reverb and tape delay. Next we venture to Granada, Spain in 1982 to meet the trio of Diseño Corbusier. Influenced by Cabaret Voltaire and Dadaism, “La Esperanza está en Antenas” was the band’s take on melancholic pop fueled by a robotic DR-55 bass-line. Sailing the Mediterranean Sea to Athens to meet Greek electronic goddess Lena Platonos who shares a demo from 1983. “Μια Γάτα Σασ Περιμένει Στη Γωνία” translates to “A Cat Is Waiting On The Corner” and is possibly the witchiest sounds we’ve shared yet, ending with a blood curdling scream. Frozen in 1983 we cross Ionian Sea to Messina, Italy and visit Victrola, the duo of Antonino “Eze” Cuscinà and Carlo Smeriglio. They’ve unearthed a melodic instrumental version of “Luca” fueled by a Korg Polysix and TB-303. Traveling across the Adriatic to Slovenia circa 1984, where Borghesia are working on their album ‘Ljubav Je Hladnija Od Smrti’. “Magla” translates to “Fog” fitting for the thick, somber electronics of Aldo Ivancic providing a dense atmosphere for the baritone vocals of Dario Seraval.

On Side B we go down under to Sydney and excavate a hidden Tom Ellard song recorded in 1984 under the alias Lord Metal, an anagram of his name for copyright reasons. “Ga Duum Blitzfonika” is a slow-motion, unadulterated dance groove originally released on the cassette compilation "Independent World”. Skipping ahead to 1986 in Tours, France we salute X-Ray Pop the minimum new wave duo of Didier "Doc" Pilot and Zouka Dzaza. They contribute the hypnotically fragile “Corto Maltese” that originally appeared on the cassette compilation ‘Plop’. Crossing the German boarder we arrive in Dortmund at the apartment of Andreas Sippel of Second Decay who recorded the instrumental demo “Lübeckerstrasse” in 1988 with partner Christian Purwien. Utilizing an TR-808, SH-101 and Arp Odyssey this cold slice of futurism was named after the street Andreas lived on. Traveling westward to England, specifically Basildon, Essex to the teenage bedroom of From Nursery To Misery, the trio of identical twin sister vocalists Gina and Tina Fear and keyboard player Lee Stevens. “Contentment” is an introspective, ethereal pop song with child-like vocals that originally appeared on the Belgian tape compilation ‘Heartbeat Vol.4’ in 1989. Finally, we return home to San Francisco and close out the compilation with Cyrnai the moniker of multi-instrumentalist Carolyn Fok. “Digital Grit Box (Demo)” was an outtake from the ‘Transfiguration’ album sessions recorded in 1993, utilizing dark dance drum beats made with MIDI sequencer programs Studio Vision and Sample Cell.

All songs have been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The vinyl is housed in a custom designed jacket by Eloise Leigh featuring our label’s colors black-white-red with connect-the-dots pattern linking the 10 songs via maps/timeline/location, all relating to the reissue process, plus source images from San Francisco, our hometown. For this landmark release we've also printed a 2-sided fold-out wall poster that includes every artist we've released in our first 10 years 2009-2019 in black, red and silver metallic ink, plus an 8x11 insert with lyrics, notes and photos.

DJ Deep's Deeply Rooted label once again spotlights rising French talent Marina Trench for the second instalment of 'Signature featuring remixes from the boss and Hugo LX. Arriving on Deeply Rooted in March with the slick sounding 'Signature EP1', since then Trench has debuted at Rex Club where she played alongside Kerri Chandler, further bolstering her rising reputation as one of the Parisian scene's most exciting names. She now returns to Deeply Rooted bringing another instalment of classy House music - perfectly suited to the respected label's aesthetic. She shows off her knack for jazzy keys on the lively, raw-edged 'Thema Urbain' which oozes late night soul and effortlessly intimate house vibes. The equally excellent 'Ahead' is a surging house cut with well-crafted synth stabs fleshing out an off balance groove while a twanging bass riffs props things up from below. It's perfectly propulsive but has a real sense of heart. The third sublime original is 'Navigo', a bottomless track with splashy hi hats and suggestive string stabs up top. A rasping bassline brings texture to the smooth grooves as they keep rushing over you to make this another fresh and original offering from Trench. Remixing 'Ahead' is Hugo LX, who cruises from downtempo beats to soulful electronic sounds on the likes of Balance and NDATL Muzik. His classy version is a dubbed out classic with a musical bassline tumbling down the scales as you're sunk ever deeper into his pillowy pads. Deep himself then steps up to flip 'Navigo' into a driving deep techno number that surges on soaring synth smears and prickly percussion. This EP is set to take Trench to the next level and confirms she is one of 2019's brightest new stars.

There are people who place their soul at a border between two worlds that are completely different one from the other.
Giulio Paternò has always split his heart in two halves: one beating for Pink Floyd's, Dire Straits' and Deep Purple's rock; the other for an electronic sound influenced by the likes of John Talabot, Nicolas Jaar or David August.The final result by mixing these two different souls is all channeled into his project Swoosh, where house and techno meet the psychedelic sound from the '70s. Three incredible reimaginations of Nina Simone classics from Francois K, Tony Humphries and Coldcut each with their own unique touch and trademark style weaved within.

Francois K kicks off with a sublime deep house rework of 'Here Comes The Sun'. Reminiscent of Larry Heard's output, Francois nods to Mr Fingers with a bassline that harks back to those early Chicago classics, coupled with deft mbira touches that create an other-worldy feel to the remix. Celestial waves and singing rides mix with a buzzing top line melody that lay the foundations for Simone's spiritual voice to hang in the air with a perpetual elegance and grace. A timeless slice of house music that earned Francois' version a spot on one of Innervisions acclaimed 'Secret Weapons' compilations.

Next up, Zanzibar royalty Tony Humphries lays out a bumping remix of 'Turn Me On' turning the bluesy soul leanings of the original on their head and flipping it into an uplifting summertime groover. Simone's words take on a different tone with this revitalising rework backed by staccato guitars and chopped up vocal melodies that give a playful yet soulful character to this slab of sunshine.

Rounding off the EP in classic Coldcut style, the duo meld 'Save Me' into a chopped, screwed and crunched remix. Lo-fi percussive elements and distorted textures blend with glitching samples and stuttering sequences that turn Simone into a tripped-out goddess. An atmospheric piece of electronica but with a harden edge purpose made for the dancefloor.

Deep in the Romanian wilderness, beyond the foggy wastelands and the drab greyness of the metropolitan district you can find the base of two musical wizards who invoke the spirit of the past to transmit a very modern interpretation of their nation's musical traditions.

They are known as Livio & Roby and they have been putting their own supernatural twist on house and techno for the past 10 years. Their connection with the global electronic music movement has been channeled via highly influential outlets such as Desolat, VIVa, Saved and Fumakilla. While their physical presence has been felt in a myriad of venues from Buenos Aires to Detroit, and across much of Europe. From dynamic DJ sets and innovative live performances to album projects and a constant flow of cutting edge, dancefloor-based productions the duo remain one of their nation's leading lights in the field.

The tribal rhythms, inspired by Romania's colourful history, penetrate your psyche: the organic instrumentation lifts your spirit; flutes and vocals combine with delicate chimes, while groovy basslines and solemn melodies create a magical concoction. It's a formula that caught the ears of their early supporters, Steve Lawler signed them up to VIVa Music and Berlin stalwart Woody introduced them to the city's music scene via his highly-respected Fumakilla label.

Shot At Dawn is a scintillating return for a band who have been collectively quiet (but individually busy) for a few years, and (once again) sounds like the music of tomorrow. Lyricist Leon Mayes wills the real revolution to come, Morris's uneasy keys and driving, bittersweet production embodies the UK's collective anxiety/apathy coupled with an impending sense of doom, as we all obediently troop off the cliff like lemmings, while vocalist Michelle Manetti's melancholy delivery is the perfect foil both, recalling Tracey Thorn at her best.

It's a genuine wake-up call for the dance floor that's dropping well with club DJs but clearly has the potential to shine fully on radio. A2 track Warm Your Love is an equally forward-facing slice of sci-fi dance music sonically and already turbo-charging the dance floor with its futuristic feel.

The remixes come from Edinburgh/London duo Leonidas & Hobbes and are the first productions they've released since 2017's summer anthem and Release Of The Year, Web Of Intrigue (from their Rags of Time EP), as voted by some 400+ DJs on Bill Brewster's DJ History podcast back in January. Their Electro mixes doff a cap to Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode, Yazoo) and Daft Punk/Thomas Bangalter, with some Compass Point era Grace Jones/Sly & Robbie thrown in for good measure on the electro dub, while the Deep House variations are more Pepe Braddock's Deep Burnt meets Frankie Knuckles/Jamie Principle's Your Love and Orbital...

Then After EP includes two tracks featuring Alex Who 'When we first met Alex there was chemistry off the bat. With inspiration of being young and free, the lyrics and vibe to "Why Not"came together with ease. As the production progressed, the darker tribal elements came to life.
We wanted this track to resonate with the free spirited. This track tends to be a favorite of night.
"Born By The River", A Happy Mistake. The vocals, the elements, the soul, all stemmed from animpromptu recording and this beauty was born. With a list of organic household recordings,accompanied by a warm low end, we aimed to create a track that defied all genres.
"Talky Talkie" is the most club oriented track of the EP, with a persistent groove and synth elements that work perfectly on the dancefloor.
"I'll Wait" brings our bohemian flavour to shine, a track that's comfortable being played anywherefrom Burning Man, lost in the desert to the deep warehouses of Brooklyn's underground.

Finally, the long awaited third part of the EXTRAWELT trilogy on Cocoon Recordings is on the way, and with this advance 12 release of 'Fear Of An Extra Planet (Blackout)' and 'Hail The Whale' we are given an incredibly strong first impression of EXTRAWELT's third Album. "Fear Of An Extra Planet (Blackout)' in particular, has the potential to become a monumental club hit. The title track from the new EXTRAWELT album is, strictly speaking, more than just a maxi-version, it's almost a separate EXTRAWELT remix of the original, fully optimized for the clubs. Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe have let loose a real bass and drum monster on us. From the very first second, the doubled-up kick bursts from the bassbins to signal the journey into this new EXTRAWELT adventure is underway. Although 'Hail the Whale' doesn't appear on the album, it perfectly represents the science fiction sound aesthetics on EXTRAWELT's new LP. Sci-fi FX, distorted vocals and dramatic synth lines envelop us in an extremely intense soundtrack atmosphere. From warp speed space travel to misty wastelands on strange planets and breathtaking pursuit scenes, 'Hail the Whale' conjures up all manner of images as it hammers from the speakers. The Dutch producer, composer and recording artist born in Vught, The Netherlands in 1967.

From 1987 to 2007 he has used over two dozen aliases producing Detroit techno, electro, house, experimental and ambient tracks and remixes.
Early 2008 he announced to only use his real name (or his initials MVDV) for future releases.

During the 90's he recorded mainly dance/techno for R&S Records, Outrage Recordings, Apollo Records (Belgium), Djax-Up-Beats, See Saw, ESP and Klang Elektronik and several other labels. Since 1996 he is also releasing music on his own label Signum Recordings. The two sublabels of Signum; Passiflora and Glam, are now both defunct.

He is the founder of Signum Recordings, Passiflora Records and Glam Records.

Hynek's Scale is a smoking' Audiopath collaboration with ex Parliament/Funkadelic member Jerrald James AKA Jerry The Cat, who, besides being an amazing percussionist and great vocalist, is also a serious old school DJ and producer with collabs with names like Derrick May, Theo Parrish and Moodymann.
Together they carefully crafted the main theme "Hynek's Scale" with raging synths, thunderous kick drums, heavy baselines and last but not least, Jerry's sweet voice. This one is a house track you will remember for quite a while! Besides the original mix, there are two remixes, one from a guy that needs no introduction, Mr. K-Alexi Shelby from Chicago (Transmat/Trax/Djax-Up-Beats). K turned the whole main idea upside down and produced a real funky big beat slammer! We love it and we know that you will love it too, trust us! The second is a remix coming from Mechanique (Kaos Records/Affin), a talented Portuguese producer based in Amsterdam. He takes his mix to a very far, deep and beautiful place, a totally different atmosphere from the title track. Finishing the record, Audiopath delivers a banger that he's been anxious to release, "Good Foot", a heavy, heavy, heavy electrofunk track; watch out for this one, it can bite! In short, we sincerely advise you to immerse yourself in the beats and atmospheres explored by these guys, we're sure that theres a track here for each and everyone of you. Not one to be pigeonholed, highly respected DJ and producer WILL SAUL has always run the gamut of electronic dance music: from deep house to techno and UK bass, his sets and tracks like to rock the boat of any given genre, taking in contemporary impulses as well as classic inspirations. As label honcho for iconic imprints like Simple or Aus Music, he further honed his ear for the perfect groove and was invited to bring his expert selection to the revered DJ Kicks mix series in 2014. A remix collaboration with fellow UK producer October for Michael Mayer's MANTASY REMIXE 2 (KOMPAKT 272) turned out to be a fine first foray into Kompakt territory - now to be succeded by the LOST IN TIME EP, for which he teamed up with Bristol-based soundsmith KOMON. Komon & Will have been collaborating for many years, resulting in tracks on Will's DJ Kicks and remixes for labels such as Ninja Tunes (Kelis) and Houndstooth (Throwing Snow). Komon has been a mainstay on Will's Aus Music imprint, with solo releases and regular collaborations with Appleblim. For Kompakt, they turn in a swooping trio of floor-versed cuts that are no strangers to atmosphere and experimentation, but like to keep the crowd in check with outbursts of pressurized funk. Leading the pack is the title cut featuring quality vocals from BEN WESTBEECH (aka Breach), flanked by the introspective DRONE and immersive mover DIGITAL PARADISE - a versatile and powerful outing from two artists that know perfectly well how to set the scene.

Here comes the next EP on Cellaa Music, this time from fast-rising Italien producer Dhaze whose previous outings have ben on labels like Moan, Innocent, Yoruba Grooves and Draft.

Dhaze is a producer obsessed with nature and organic sounds. Young, skilled and supremely talented, Dhaze, is an artist set for great things on the international scene. - Rolling Instructions is a track that immediately commands attention with it's rolling, rich bassline surrounded by punchy, organic drums. Barcelona-based Rob Clouth returns to Leisure System with the Deep Field 12', a stomping showcase of his focused sound design and knack for memorable melodies with additional remixes from Kowton and Vessels.
Deep Field is Clouth's Leisure System follow-up to the Clockwork Atom EP, which was named one of the top EPs of 2014 by Bleep and introduced his electronic wizard by to a wider audience following prior releases as Vaetxh and under his own name. Debuted on Max Cooper's Boiler Room and appearing again on his Essential Mix, 'Deep Field' is tactile and threatening, with disorienting glitches weaved into the 4/4 structure. The belching low-end brings to mind a talkative machine that's been muzzled, eager to burst from its restraints.Livity Sound boss Kowton inverts the original into a gelatinous mass, adding jackhammering drums to the cloudy atmosphere and creating a spacious and stuttering lesson in tension and release. Fresh off the release of their LP Dilate, Leeds band Vessels put their own euphoric electronic magic to work with a housier take, drawing out Clouth's propulsive percussion with an added dose of lush melodicism that
should make it a new favorite for house DJs looking for a spirited twist on the typical. Deep Field is the third in Leisure System's new GRIDLOCK series, melding the freaky and functional
for modern dance floors.

After their stunning 2012 debut single "Wish" (FM X / Wish 001) and last year's "Diggin' On You" (D.O.C. 001), the incredibly gifted ELEKFANTZ return to the fore with what can only called a brilliant full-length premiere. The duo of Daniel and Leo first met 20 years ago, when they played together in a blues band. Leo continued his carreer as a professional musician while Daniel started to discover a new musical path.

The latter was born and bred at the electronic music temple in South America, later becoming a resident DJ and local hero, known as the right guy to prepare the dance floor and set up the right mood. He's one of the finest DJs of the Brazilian new wave of electronic aficionados. Leo is a professional drummer, singer and composer since the age of 15. He played and recorded with some of the greatest artists in Brazil.

Their debut album DARK TALES AND LOVE SONGS sports all the intimate melodies, lush harmonies and organic undertones that the duo has become know for and then some: from pop-infused songwriter house to highly emotive prime time anthems, you'll find lots to love about this expertly crafted collection of melodic gems. In its own way, Speicher on Kompakt Extra has always been one of the most uncompromising series in the Kompakt universe. Starting out as a mere compilation series to tie up some loose ends from our regulars, it has since become a guarantee for vanguard dance sounds from all over the planet, with Kompakt being able to invite and support electronic artists that comfortably inhabit both the delicate and the more deliberate ends of the electronic music spectrum. That's also where we found the highly versatile Sei A, native Glaswegian, now residing in London and immersing himself in the hybrid house, firm techno and bass-heavy scenes that happily co-exist within UK's capital.

Brand new in those deeper days, 'DUB 2 DUST RECORDS' is going to start their vinyl-label, releasing electronic dance music with a special
focus on the various colours of deep Dub-Techno and "Dub" inspired Tech-House.

As artists and remixers Marko Fürstenberg, Gabriel Le Mar, Frank Leicher, Quantec, Luke Hess and youANDme will light a match this year for 'DUB 2 DUST' reflecting their passion and respect for the needs of a Dub head on the floor.

The dub-feeling is clearly the inspiration behind the general flavor of the DUB2DUST-Sound and will demonstrate innovative efforts to offer interesting hybrids of techno/house music. Phaze Records is the new Imprint founded by Gummish aka Tony Matt. Phaze Records focus on the funky side of techouse and minimal techno of electronic dance music. For our 14th release on OCD we welcome Italy’s veteran producer Niki IL B, an artist whose career in electronic music spans decades. Active since the mid-90s, he established himself as an important figure in the early-2000s progressive house scene. Since then, he has crafted a very personal sound that is refined and distinctive, shaped by a long and diverse journey across genres and driven by a deep-rooted dedication to the craft, emerging from a generation that lived electronic music as a true way of life.
This EP is a showcase of Niki’s ability to confidently move through different moods and to draw inspiration from various genres.

A love note to formative years in the ‘80s and early ‘90s, off his chops at The Haçienda and other legendary Manchester clubs, it’s a masterclass in demonstrating the flavours-within-a-theme that emerged from the Chi, 313, and NYC during that pivotal era, and would light the touch paper of a UK club revolution.

In Duster Valentine’s hands the sound is presented stripped to salient fundamentals, prizing the sound before it went commercial, ranging from sampler-knuckling garage-house stabbers thru haughty canter and plushest, pendulous grooves. He homes in hard on that point when hip hop and electro gave way to house in the Todd Terry-via-Pal Joey style jam »Getting’ Dub«, and gives a big salute to Chez N Trent’s rugged, chord-riding haughtiness via Levon Vincent in »Hit Me From Behind«.

»Strobelight Honnies« leans into the sound’s deepest ends with perfectly weighted bassline, cold drums and sublime string tension dubbed with hypnotic elegance, where »The KatG Chord« follows with shimmers of Anthony Shakir via Michael J Blood. Suffice it to say they’re all perlers and bang on the £ if you know what’s good.

With their fourth full-length album Signal Fire, GENGHIS TRON awaken us from the post-apocalyptic daydreams of their previous work with a violent—and most welcome—shove. This time, the distant-future reveries we first heard on Board Up The House give way to an unsettling awareness of the present we’re actually living, as our circumstances grow too pressing to try and escape. “Signal Fire envisions a Kojima-esque dystopia of endless proxy warfare,” says vocalist and lyricist Tony Wolski (The Armed), “where the deluge of available information has outmoded the human ability to parse it. A world where those amoral, shameless and cunning enough can literally reshape reality at their whim through sheer insistence." Having roared onto the scene in 2004 with a uniquely demented blend of extreme metal, synthesizer textures, and drum-machine madness, GENGHIS TRON are no strangers to making a forceful impression. But Signal Fire marks the first time bandleaders Michael Sochynsky and Hamilton Jordan –joined again by Wolski and Nick Yacyshyn (SUMAC) on drums, plus newcomer Kenny Szymanski (The Armed) on bass–has captured this level of urgency with such visceral precision. “This album is very much rooted in the now,” confirms Jordan. What’s remarkable, however, is how Sochynsky and Jordan have taken a project that started in 2004 as a dorm-room genre-pastiche experiment —”a chaotic, wild amalgamation of all our favorite stuff, literally slammed together,” says Jordan—and refined their songwriting craft to deliver a sound that is unmistakably their own.

Metrica Recordings presents its third release, marking the label’s first various artists project. A sonic journey that seeks to connect with the universal rhythms of life through powerful percussions, chants that are poems, Andean instruments, and the hypnotic force of electronic music. Each piece is designed to induce a collective trance, where the body finds its natural place: movement.

Among its most significant moments are the poems in Nahuatl written and recited by Maribel Galicia, a native of Teotihuacán and a member of the Nahua people. Her words resonate like ancestral memories that dialogue with electronic instrumentals, reminding us that tradition and innovation are not opposites, but can dance together.

Tribal Sound System – Incorregible is a sonic ritual that seeks to: Create altered states of consciousness through repetitive musical patterns. Mike Cooper returns to Discrepant with The Dream Island of Birds, a release that blurs the lines between memory, field recording, and reimagined sound.

In the early 1990s, Cooper met illustrator and writer Charles van Sandwyk while walking on a small island in Fiji. Van Sandwyk was living there quietly, working from a modest bamboo house near the beach. Years later, Cooper learned that following a serious car accident, van Sandwyk experienced vivid dreams during his recovery — one of which became a small illustrated book titled The Dream Island of Birds. A signed postcard from that book still hangs in Cooper’s studio.

In 2012, Cooper spent a month as artist-in-residence on Pulau Ubin, a small island between Singapore and Malaysia, recording birds and insects across the island. Home to more than 300 resident and migratory bird species, Pulau Ubin provided the source material for this album, later combined with electronics and digital processing. The track titles reference some of the island’s more evocatively named birds, though the sounds themselves are not literal representations. One piece is not derived from live birds at all, but imagined entirely through electronic means.

Neither documentary nor abstraction, The Dream Island of Birds sits between field recording, memory, and invention — an island heard through time and circuitry.
