“Fools” is from a new Drop Nineteens album to come in 2026. The track sees the band in swooning shoegaze mode featuring layers of glide guitar beneath gentle vocals sung by Paula Kelley & Greg Ackell, who calls the track “a snake let in under the door.” Chris McLaughlin (Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, Bon Iver) delivers a searing mix that’s both metallic and oozing with warmth. This is an extremely limited edition of 75 7”s featuring hand-screened covers.

Phantasy transports back to 1982 for a faithful reissue of the highly sought after ‘Fools Are Friendly’ from Xclusiv, carefully re-mastered from the original tapes.

The alias of sisters Karen and Maxine Berlinski, Xclusiv emerged inconspicuously from the London borough of Croydon with a sophisticated vision of cosmic disco pop, linking the suburbs with Soho’s neon-tinted nightlife. Decades later, and in close collaboration with the sisters, this highly sought-after record arrives lovingly reissued by Phantasy in its original, sensuous form.

Originally self-released on Le Maitre Music, a record label spun-off from their family-run fireworks and pyrotechnics company, ‘Fools Are Friendly’ has the irresistible sense of a radio hit that never was. A brilliant DIY reflection of the disco and soul that dominated the charts of the time, its glossy, primitive electronics echo the synth experiments of Giorgio Moroder or Didier Marouani, pioneers that were transforming pop music.

The extended mix provides an overture to the sisters’ twinned vocals, unfolding with delectable disco drama. In contrast, the Instrumental Mix lets the record’s blend of elements truly breathe, a synthesised version of Xclusiv’s irresistible vocal hook holding court between timeless arpeggios and subtle modulation.

Jordan Munson ist ein Komponist, Performer und Multimedia-Künstler. In seinen Werken erforscht er die Erinnerung und unsere Beziehung zur Technologie, und es heißt, dass er "akustische Melodien und elektronische Rhythmen mit aufregender Absicht verschmilzt" (The New York Times). Seine Kompositionen beruhen auf einer Ausbildung in Perkussion, Improvisation, Pop und Sounddesign und stellen subtile Landschaften mit reichhaltigen Texturen und treibenden Melodien einander gegenüber. Munson setzt Technologie ein, um natürliche Klänge zu interpretieren und umgekehrt, wobei er sich auf die Übertragungsverluste konzentriert, die durch diese ständige Neusynthese entstehen. "Heartless Fools" wurde 2018 in den Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavík, Island, aufgenommen. Trey Gruber's posthumous debut double LP Herculean House of Cards. A compilation of early demos, studio demos, and live recordings. A tortured songwriter and struggling addict who jolted the tired Chicago DIY scene with his own brand of primal despair, Trey Gruber and his band Parent were on track to join the ranks of Twin Peaks, Mild High Club, and Whitney. His death in 2017 at the age of 26 brought it all to a halt. In his final years Trey wrote and recorded hundreds of previously unheard demos, dandelions in the cracked concrete of 21st century disconnect, an alphabet's worth of which have been compiled by his family and friends for his only album: Herculean House Of Cards. The 26-song 2xLP covers years of material, from home tape recordings, sessions at Mathew Roberts (Mild High Club) & Paul Cherry's home studio, to a studio session with Charles Glanders (Whitney) at Chicago's Foxhall Studios, along with audio taken at The Hideout during his last live performance, among others. Though Gruber was an unrelenting perfectionist who was constantly self-deprecating about his best demos, Herculean House of Cards is a wholly comprehensive and accurate reflection of his infectious charisma and raw songwriting. He had a charmingly distinct way with words but also could be disarmingly vulnerable. Like he was in life, Gruber never shied away from being open with his struggles with alcoholism and addiction. On the vivid opener "Eisenhower to the West Side," he sings in painstaking detail of, "A jail-skin cell, a junkies fight/Corner-boys full of grace/And Jesus Christ full of spite." He told then-future bandmate flautist Rebecca Ridge, "It's not some Lou Reed glorification of drugs _ `makes me feel like a man'_ I talk about the disconnect and the ugliness. They're sad pop songs." But even with the pain and the darkness in his lyrics, Gruber's songs had an unmistakable sense of hope and catharsis.

Runnin' Out of Fools is the sixth studio album by the American “Queen of Soul” Aretha Franklin, originally released in 1964 and arranged and conducted by Belford C. Hendricks. The album features cover versions of Dionne Warwick “Walk On By”, Betty Everett “The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss)” and Mary Wells “My Guy” amongst others.
Runnin' Out of Fools is available as a limited edition of 2000 individually numbered copies on red coloured vinyl. It is housed in a deluxe, sturdy sleeve finished with a gloss laminate finish.

Like the creeks that run and tributaries that trickle throughout singer-songwriter Ian Noe’s homelands in Eastern Kentucky, water flows throughout his new LP. Thoughtfully and intentionally named, River Fools & Mountain Saints highlights Noe’s storytelling prowess through 12 country rockers and Appalachian ballads, depicting contemporary and historical life in the region. Broader in scope and brighter in tone than his lauded debut, 2019’s Between the Country, River Fools & Mountain Saints boasts a fuller sound with more diverse instrumentation. Produced by Andrija Tokic (Phosphorescent, Alabama Shakes, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Benjamin Booker, AHI), and featuring "Little" Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs) on bass and Derry deBorja (Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit) on keys, this album explores the themes of Nature, Appalachia, Division, Death, and Redemption. They recorded on reel-to-reel tapes in short spurts over the course of two years, without the pressure of time, which enabled a wider range of experimentations, collaborations, and sounds.

250 copies available to move, it is a 7” release on Fools Gold Records based in New York City. Side A is on the Electro side with the B being more early 80s Funkadelic/Zapp.

Fools Meeting is an album by Carol Grimes with the British blues/progressive rock band Delivery, founded in the late 1968. The band was one of the wellsprings of the progressive rock Canterbury scene.

"Delivery was formed during the British blues boom of the late '60s. However, its sound is jazzier and more progressive than most of the music that emanated from that era. Rhythm & blues serves as a springboard for forward-looking tracks like "Blind to Your Light" and "Harry Lucky." Singer Carol Grimes is frequently compared to Janis Joplin. While Grimes has a powerful voice, she does not reach the level of histrionics that were a showcase of Joplin's. It should come as no surprise that Delivery members joined Canterbury related bands upon Delivery's demise. The reissue CD of Fools Meeting features several live bonus tracks, as well as a post-breakup demo recording featuring Caravan bassist Richard Sinclair. That demo session, one of the highlights of the collection, spurred the musicians to form Hatfield and the North. Mighty Lord Deathman is the solo project of Mat Colegate (ex Teeth of the Sea). New album LIFEFORCE will be released on the London based Hot Fools Records on 300 black vinyl LPs. Influenced by such diverse inputs as Arthurian myth, the short stories of Laird Barron, the pulse and rattle of Jamaica’s Equiknoxx and the heavily stylised phantasmagorias of the hallucinatory crime/western movie Let the Corpses Tan, Mighty Lord Deathman’s sound has been pushed towards a new, more cinematic, plateau. However, not content with simply being ‘music for an imaginary film’, LIFEFORCE is the thing itself: an unnerving abstractnarrative told in whispers and hieroglyphics, burnt brickwork and full-throated roars. “The scornful gatekeeper. 10Questions is a record label by Dam Swindle's Lars Dales and graphic designer Bas Koopmans. The first release promises a lot for the coming series with signing the first EP with Demi Requisimo. Demi is one of the rising stars in dance music due to his energetic tracks and signature style, combining italo and electro with chopped up disco samples from around the globe.

The EP starts of with it's namesake track. 'Dictionary of fools' is a great example of Demi's knack for creating dancefloor bombs. The razor sharp bassline cuts through the track like a knife through butter but it's the female vocal that covers the track like a warm blanket. This track will get anyone's blood pumping and makes you wish you heard it first on a sunny festival.

'Noisey Cricket' ventures more into the 80's proto-house territory with it's distinctive drum programming and italo style bassline. The pads and vocal chops elevate the track to another level and underscore Demi's nose for finding just the right balance between electronic sounds and samples.

The final track of the EP, 'Atomic' is one of those tracks that sneak up on you. Demi takes a ballsy approach and let's you wait a full 3 minutes before the bassline comes in but lord it has never sounded sweeter. This is a party starter if you ever heard one and a beautiful example of how well Demi understands crafting a deceptively simple track with maximum impact. A master of his craft.

10Questions is a label build on the concept that the record and record sleeve are an integral part of the full experience of an EP. The artist is given a questionnaire and depending on his/her answers the artwork is made. This way the music and art co-exist in the same creative universe, that of the artist and the label alike.

Ever since hearing Pete Tong announce 'Chica Wappa' as his Essential New Tune back in 2004, we've been following the bold Alex Smoke on his musical journey.

Coming from Glasgow, we've shared a lot of common influences - both from within and outside of the city and we have Alex to thank for introducing and strengthening our love for the likes of Villalobos, Rhythm & Sound, Carl Craig and Actress, amongst others. Although he was a familiar face on the 'minimal' scene, he always operated on his own terms and that's a throughline we've admired throughout his career. Not only is he comfortable releasing techno on Soma and R&S, he's produced for ballet, films and even the NHS.

Over the years, Alex has played at a few seminal parties for us; alongside the likes of Oni Ayhun, James Holden, Helena Hauff and Veronica Vasicka. So we were delighted to be approached by him to work on a record together and it's been really exciting to hear it evolve over time. It would be arrogant to compare it to Thom Yorke's - The Eraser, but it certainly occupies a similar world in our mind. To still be producing innovative and inspiring albums 15 years into a career is no mean feat in this age and it's a great honour to welcome such a musical hero on to the label.

As with the last Auntie Flo album, we're also lining up a very special remix package with a swarm of our favourite producers of the moment and we can't wait to share them with you too over the course of the year.

When Aretha Franklin joined Atlantic Records in 1967, it was the beginning of an unprecedented run that would ultimately cement her place as a music legend, a global household name, and one of the most influential singers of all time.

The Atlantic Singles Collection 1967-1970 features 34 singles which Franklin released during her first three years with Atlantic Records. Arranged chronologically, the songs on the new collection originally appeared on six studio albums: I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You (1967), Aretha Arrives (1967), Lady Soul (1968), Aretha Now (1968), Soul '69 (1969), This Girl's In Love With You (1970), and Spirits In The Dark (1970). The only exception is Franklin's cover of Elton John's 'Border Song', which was released as a single in 1970 and later appeared on her 1972 album Young, Gifted and Black. The vinyl version is a double LP with 25 tracks.

The album is stacked with many of Franklin's best-known songs, including 'I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You)', 'Respect', 'Baby I Love You', 'Chain Of Fools' and '(Sweet Sweet Baby) Since You've Been Gone.' Several of the songs on this collection are cover versions that underscore Franklin's exceptional skill at reinterpreting music and making songs her own. Among the highlights are her versions of Sam Cooke's 'You Send Me', The Band's 'The Weight', The Beatles' 'Eleanor Rigby', and Dionne Warwick's 'I Say A Little Prayer', which became a Billboard Top 10 hit for Franklin in 1968.

Originally from Compton, Los Angeles, the Jackson Sisters were one-hit wonders who briefly shone and made some noise in the early 1970s before quickly fading into obscurity. Their only US chart entry was 'I Believe In Miracles,' a funky slice of bubblegum soul with a catchy, sing-along chorus released on the Prophesy label that briefly saw them make the lower reaches of the R&B charts in September 1973.

LA's Private Selection imprint returns, this time to shed light for the first time on a producer from Argentina who goes under the guise of 'Crash ID'. All 6 tracks on PS003 are primed for the dance floor, touching on a kind of ritualistic, electro industrial body music that feels right at home with the labels current catalogue and event series.

The group Knowledge and producer/DJ/Artist Tapper Zukie's stories are intertwined through their location in the Rema area of Kingston.

Knowledges line up included Anthony Doyley, Delroy Folding, Earl Macfarlane, Mike Smith, Michael Samuels and later Paul Freeman.
The groups debut release was 'Make Faith' featuring Tapper Zukie introducing the band as his proteges and began a winning formula.
The band released many of their early singles on Tapper's 'Stars' imprint and were produced by Tapper himself. This culminated in Tapper getting the band a deal with a major label A&M and the band were in fact the first Reggae to be signed to the label.
A&M were keen to work with Tapper as an artist and producer and at onetime motioned Tapper to be backed by one of their other signed bands The Police for a UK tour. Tapper thought that being backed by a band named after such an establishment would not be a wise idea and declined the offer.
But the connection did lead up to one of Jamaica's great vocal groups getting their debut album again produced by Tapper Zukie released on this major label.
Sadly the relationship was short lived and the album 'Hail Dread' would be their only release for the label.

Fasziniert von der Dynamik elektronischer Tanzmusik und der ungeheuren Kraft und Reichhaltigkeit von Live-Instrumenten, schufen Chris Davids und Liam Ivory, aka Maribou State, mit "Portraits" ein unwiderstehliches Album. Es ist ein Album, auf dem sich Organisches und Synthetisches umarmen und an James Blake oder SOHN erinnern und dessen Groove es durchaus mit dem von Moloko aufnehmen kann. Maribou State setzen uns atmosphärischen Dubstep gepaart mit House und einer gesunden Prise Pop vor - "glitchy, sad and slow" (The Guardian), aber ungeheuer tanzbar und garantiert aus der Mitte des Herzens kommend. Die letzten 18 Monate des Duos waren strikt getaktet: An den Wochenenden wurde wild durch die Gegend getourt (von England, Europa, den USA und Australien war alles dabei, die Bühnen von Glastonbury und Bestival waren nur zwei der Meilensteine auf ihrem Weg), während man sich unter der Woche disziplinert den Albumaufnahmen widmete. Bei Radio-Schwergewichten wie Zane Lowe oder Huw Stephens schaute man auch vorbei und werkelte ganz nebenbei an einer schönen Palette von Remixen für "alte Hasen" wie Kelis, Lana del Rey oder den Crookers. Die harte Arbeit zahlt sich mit Erscheinen des Debüts nun endlich aus.

Nach zwei gefeierten Studioalben kündigt die britische Band BIG SPECIAL ihre neue EP mit folgenden Worten an: "Diese neue Platte besteht aus den verworfenen Teilen unserer ersten beiden Alben. Wir haben sie wieder hervorgeholt und mit ins Studio genommen, um sie zu überarbeiten und zu verfeinern. So entstand ein eigenständiges Werk, das unser bisheriges Schaffen reflektiert. German DJ/producer Butch returns to Rekids with the ‘Official Bump Call’ EP 22nd May 2026. It marks his first release on the label since 2011’s ‘Raw Beats’ two-tracker, followed by a 2018 appearance remixing Basement Jaxx’s ‘Good Luck’. This time, Snatch! Records boss Riva Starr joins for a remix fresh off the back of his ‘Shine A Light’ EP on Radio Slave’s main imprint.

“‘Bump Call’ and 'Foxtrot Uniform' are messages from old-school players to new-school fools. At a time, when everything revolves around health, discipline, and maximising output – more shows, more structure, more money – this EP is a reminder of where it all came from. Butch’s Official Bump Call' plays with live, loose, and funky drum breaks that ride a swollen bassline. Toms and congas pepper the groove as steamy vocals inject the soul. It's a dusty, heartfelt House sound that balances vintage samples with his signature production prowess, making for a sure-fire summer heater. Riva Starr is an equally influential producer who heads up the Snatch! label and has been turning out essential House sounds for many years. His remix beefs up the drums while keeping the slow-burning vocal heat front and center, creating a devastatingly deep yet driving sound.
'Foxtrot Uniform' is another tasteful jumble of soul, funk, and gospel motifs with a lived-in house groove that's instinctive and real. Emotions bubble up but never boil over as the tension builds, culminating in an utter dance-floor release when the diva's vocal erupts. It's a masterclass in control and release.

Butch has a vast discography spanning labels such as Life And Death, Running Back, Defected, Innervisions, Diynamic, Starr’s Snatch!, and many more, while traversing myriad subgenres. He does it all, from intricate minimal with Ricardo Villalobos to Eastern-inspired psychedelia and pounding, prime-time Techno.

Not that it really matters, but, new label artwork alert! For release number 008, Mountain 45s gives its labels a fresh, clean look and goes small hole. It’s a “Double A” sider from the label bawss, Double A. And, like Chuck D said, “brother’s gonna work it out”. Big drums, and a new arrangement give this soul classic a dance floor update. London hi-fi bar Space Talk's in-house label, ST Records, kicks off with a 12-track vinyl-only compilation featuring exclusive music from artists who performed at the venue of the same name over the past year. Crafted specifically for the unique acoustics and energy of the venue, some tracks were even recorded live or during intimate Sunday sessions. There is everything from murky dub soundscapes like Kristina May's 'Slow Down, You're Missing Out' to classic era hip-hop from The Village Fools, blue-eyed soul from Sholto's 'There Once Was A Talk Space' and plenty in between. All profits from ST01 will be donated to a UK charity supporting young musicians from underrepresented backgrounds.
