Berlin-based producer, DJ and sound engineer Dajusch returns with his latest four-track EP, a high-powered offering that channels the essence of Detroit and Chicago techno while pushing the boundaries of contemporary club sound. Known for his deep connection to electronic music's pioneering roots and his work behind the scenes as a mastering engineer, Dajusch brings an intense and refined energy to this release. The EP opens with the single 'No Mas', a relentless percussive workout where hypnotic synths intertwine with driving drum patterns, setting the stage for an unyielding ride. The title track 'Ambition' follows suit with a high-octane groove, combining raw machine-funk aesthetics with a pulsating bassline and intricate, evolving textures that command the dance floor. On the flip side, 'Split' takes a darker and more cerebral turn, layering industrial-tinged sonics over a tight, rolling beat, blurring the line between peak-time energy and introspective depth. Closing out the EP is '36g', a heady, propulsive cut that builds into a whirlwind of syncopated rhythms and distorted stabs, rounding off the record with a powerful, no-holds-barred climax. With Ambition, the Spandau20 artist Dajusch reinforces his position as a purist and innovator, delivering a release that feels both timeless and forward-thinking. Innersoul's The Theory, originally released in 1996, has long been revered in the underground hip-hop community, and now it's getting a well-deserved reissue on limited edition vinyl with a Japanese obi-strip. The standout track, 'It's The Right Time', which was also released as a 12" single, captures the essence of the era, with its jazz and soul samples evoking the unmistakable East Coast underground vibe of the 90s. The album is full of lighthearted rap exchanges and soulful beats that are quintessential of the time. This reissue also includes bonus tracks, making it an essential pickup for both longtime fans and newcomers to this classic slice of hip-hop history.

LA-based band ASHRR picked up plenty of new fans with their recent Sunshine Low album and now they're back with the sixth single from it and it comes with some seriously heavyweight names on the remix. Chicago house pioneer Ron Trent does his thing to 'Please Don't Stop The Rain' by going super deep, spine tingling and heady with some lush arps and distant guitar twangs adding a Balearic feel. Dub treatments come from the Prescription boss himself, while ASHRR's alter ego, ASHRR Soundsystem, offer up an instrumental and a remix that lay down dubby house drums and lush chord work. This one keeps the summer vibes going well into winter.

And then there’s the Gude-Launebär himself—Markus Sommer, aka Frau Hommer, answering the eternal question: Does it Funk? Spoiler: absolutely. Rolling basslines, sharp percussion, and cheeky melodic twists come together. This is Hommer energy at its peak!

Rocksteady Disco welcomes Dennis Liber & Lex for a standout debut here. Their four-tracker captures the magic of musical nights spent down in Mexican hotspot Tulum with organic and airy grooves aplenty. 'Una Sera D'Estate' (feat Max Giovara) exodus late-night warmth and loved-up vibes with its melodic bassline and disco-tinged house drums. 'End Of The Line' is more lively but is no less direct with its big drums and pointed bass phrasings. Liber then goes solo for the dreamy, Italo-tinged yet tropical 'Playa Eden' and wonderfully escapist closer 'Hidden Island' complete with Balearic beats and the sound of singing dolphins.

This new one from our favourite US ambient outlet takes the form of a selection of long-form compositions from artists who are close to the label. As such it's a perfect reflection of its signature sound - deeply immersive soundscapes, slowly shifting synths and meditative moods made with a mix of hardware tools, guitars, pedals and even baritone vocals. It's named after a Norwegian term for warmth and intimacy, which certainly plays out from the evolving loops of 'A Whisper' to the textured melancholy of 'Canaan' and the reverberant drift of 'Coronation Ring'.

Control 333 is the E.P. of Uruguayan artist Leo Mendez a.k.a Jardines Sin Explorar, who has left this earthly plane at the beginning of 2024.

"Heridas", a track with a classic Ebm sound with a strong bass that marks the hypnotic of the track, accompanied by melodies in their leeds with influences of the punk sound that characterized Jardines, a track loaded with many feelings that are transformed into pure fire. "Turbio" is the second track of the ep, which is more characterised by the electro industrial sound with post punk influences, rhythmic leads and break drums with crashing vocals that lead you to explore your darker side.

Between A Rock And A Hard Place is the debut studio album by American hip hop duo Artifact, originally released in 1994. The recording sessions took place at Soundtrack Studios in New York, except for the song ""Cummin' Thru Ya Fuckin' Block"", which was recorded at Chung King Studios. The album was produced by T-Ray, Buckwild, Drew and Redman, with co-producers Rockwilder and Artifacts. It features guest appearances from Jay Burns Jaya, Redman and Busta Rhymes. The album debuted at number 137 on the Billboard 200, number 17 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and number 2 on the Heatseekers Albums charts in the United States. It was supported with three singles: ""Wrong Side of da Tracks"", ""C'mon wit da Git Down"" and ""Dynamite Soul"". Between A Rock And A Hard Place is available as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on gold coloured vinyl and includes an insert.

This EP contains 4 tracks inspired by the dance music boom in Europe from the late 80s to early 90s. Luis composed all the tracks using a Novation BassStation, an Akai MPC 2000XL for the drums and sampling, and a Korg M1 for the pads and melodies, using the occasional VST where appropriate.

A1 “Miedo aqui estoy” (Fear, here I am) combines a fast bassline with a hypnotic melody, New Wave influences and shades of electro unite to create an immersive atmosphere. The message ‘no to fear’ being transmitted through optimistic and euphoric pads.

A2 “Neminem Laedere”, inspired by New Wave sounds and rhythm, this track uses bright synths to create audio textures that invite introspection. The hypnotic melodies repeat throughout, enforcing the title's message ‘do no harm’.

Dmitry Krylov is a musician and sound artist exploring the landscape between acoustics and electronics. His latest project, After All, is centred around the poetics of electronic music and offers a meditation on the end of times. The album's dramatic structure demonstrates a gradual transition from the spacious oscillations of bowed instruments to plasmatic noise rhythms, which dissolves in an area of uncertainty.

A substantial proportion of the album is made up of smooth vibratory canvases created by the bowed instruments, urban noises and liminal synths.

Cali Lanauze makes label debut on Crosstown Rebels with his ‘Borderline’ EP.

The title track sees Cali team up with LA-based singer/songwriter Cari Golden, whose credits include collaborations with Groove Armada, Camelphat, Anja Schneider, Audiofly, and more. Having debuted on Crosstown Rebels with Fur Coat on ‘You and I’, Cari’s second appearance sees her soulful, evocative vocals intertwine effortlessly with Cali’s melancholic yet uplifting production. Dubstep and garage pushers Hotflush make a surefooted return, welcoming Perth producer Odd Occasion to their roster with an al dente next-gen garage cookoff. This 'Jukebox' offers six choices to the discerning listener, though you'd be hard-pressed to find a pub owner who'll take them on in toto - unless the landlords happen to be real heads, that is! All's well that this is a machine with niche appeal, with its formal calculations and dark contusions tempting fans of all things bass-led. Though the record begins on a volatile yet minimal note, the A3 'Simple' takes a glassy dubstep turn, virtifying the mix with hollow sound design and a stealthy grime vocal sample. This first Adam Beyer x Eli Brown collaborative release has been feverishly anticipated by fans keeping tabs on their growing friendship and further excited by the pair’s first official B2B at Lisbon’s Brunch Electronik in September. Now ‘Overdose of Bass’ EP is here, a power-packed techno two-tracker enriched by diverse elements, on Beyer’s Drumcode.

It also marks Eli Brown’s welcome return to the label after his massive collaboration this January ‘When I Push’ with Layton Giordani and OFFAIAH following Brown’s 2022 EP ‘Deep Down’. The EP ‘Overdose of Bass’ combines recent developments and past influences of both techno giants.

‘Overdose of Bass’: the title track has rattling snares and a breaksy beat ushering in a spoken vocal layering different levels of processing, for a half sensual, half robotic riff – ‘there it goes/ overdose/of bass’ – with the doppler siren builds, giving a spacey, mysterious call and response. Hypnotic, disturbing, and edgy.

‘Living In The Moment’: an urgent techno beat, a Moroder-esque bass synth, and a recurrent riff like a signal becoming ever more high and desperate, are counterpointed by an ethereal, quavering, sweet female vocal, strengthened by the melodic build in the huge central breakdown. Urgent, demanding, hyper, this is dancefloor heaven.

'BOSTICH PT.1' – A hot Chicago House flip on this legendary classic by Swiss synthpop band Yello! Some unexpected editing surprises in this one! The groove will have you from the start! To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album Tales Of The Forgotten Melodies, Wax Tailor unveils a 2LP Gatefold reissue of his iconic album Tales Of The Forgotten Melodies. A true must-have for all fans of the artist and vinyl enthusiasts!

Anyone with a passing interest in footwork and juke will know of Traxman. Corky Strong has a long history of deep involvement in Chicago house, first releasing on the legendary Dance Mania label in the mid nineties, and since then splitting his productions between ghetto house, juke and footwork, releasing alongside Steve Poindexter and Fast Eddie and the late DJ Deeon and DJ Rashad, including an seemingly endless supply of self-released juke edits of whatever direction his deep knowledge of Black American music takes him. The third volume of 'Da Mind Of Traxman' is his first since 2014. In the intervening years he's kept things rolling, DJing regularly, releasing lots of music, becoming a grandfather and being a mentor for younger artists coming up in the scene.

This new album was crafted with the help of fellow Planet Mu artist Sinjin Hawke, who took on A&R duties to collate the best from hundreds of tracks dating back to 2005. Sinjin holds Traxman's status in high regard; "This album series is important and holds real documentarian value—working on it feels like the modern equivalent of curating a piece of Miles Davis’s catalog in the '60s and '70s." Volume 3 showcases Traxman's uncanny ability to take old music into the future without losing the feeling and energy of his samples and influences. He knows how to add a hi-definition modern chassis with the skill of someone who deeply and intuitively understands the craft of dance music. These are some of the purest, most innovative ideations of Chicago footwork.

The year is 1974 and we are in Kingston, Jamaica: Lee Scratch Perry has just presented Susan Cadogan's album 'Sexy Suzy' on his Upsetters label. The Jamaican singer, who is just under 25, sees her cover of 'Hurt So Good' flirt with the top of the UK and JA charts but has no idea that 50 years later, she would still be a household name among Jamaican music fanatics.

On the B-side of this LP, produced by Mr Perry himself, the penultimate track is a cover of Little Willie John’s "Fever". Over the years this song has taken an unshakable place in the hearts of reggae lovers worldwide. With nearly 700 different versions referenced to date, Fever already enjoyed classic status at the time, mainly thanks to the success of Peggy Lee’s version released in 1958. Since then, in all styles, across all continents, the song has been reinterpreted, so much so that it's rare to find a year since 1956 without a new version hitting the market! Universal, timeless, this love song is known to all music enthusiasts, but in the reggae scene, it’s Susan Cadogan and Lee Scratch Perry’s version that still reigns supreme.

50 years after its release, Stand High Patrol offer us their own version. Recorded at the end of 2023, the Susan Cadogan / Stand High Patrol collaboration wasn’t initially meant to move beyond its dubplate status. However, due to the track’s success in the dance and a growing demand, it became the first pressed collaboration on record between a Jamaican artist and the Dubadub Musketeerz. Accompanied by its dub version, Stand High’s take on Fever is a creative reimagining and brings to mind that classic 90s UK dub style. Pressed on striking black vinyl with white and pink splatters to complement the original aesthetic, this edition boasts painstakingly rebuilt artwork and a newly designed inner bag featuring full lyrics. The critically acclaimed Colours & Light, Project Gemini’s second album, takes on a new life in Deluxe Edition format. Firmly rooted in the mood and melodies of the original album, the Deluxe Edition features an unreleased album track, alternate versions and a whole host of remixes from friends of Project Gemini. To accompany the digital release, Jack Sharp’s (Wolf People/Large Plants) distinctive, distortion-heavy remix of ‘After The Dawn’, and the previously unreleased ‘Darkness Rising’, receive a special 7” pressing.

On the A side, Jack Sharp of the psychedelic, folk rock bands Wolf People and Large Plants, takes on ‘After The Dawn’. Sharp, who featured heavily on Colours & Light, dials up the distortion with this all-consuming, darker shade of a remix. Sucking you down into a wormhole of layered guitar reverberations and Paul’s spiralling, echoed vocals, it’s an intoxicating, driving hit of mind-bending, progressive rock.

Taken from the Colours & Light album recording session, the B side features ‘Darkness Rising’. A previously unreleased, original track that didn’t make it onto the album, Project Gemini leans in on the wah-wah fuzzed guitars, using it as the basis for a sonic brew of synths, percussion and bass-heavy, psychedelic rock synergy.

The history of electronic music has been defined by a handful of key synth manufacturers. Iconic brands, like Roland, Yamaha, Sequential Circuits and others, have pushed boundaries and blazed trails. But what gives each synthesizer its own unique sound? What makes one synthesizer sound distinctly different from another? And, what would happen if you only used one synthesizer to create a track? The major players of electronics are the building blocks for this music machine homage.

Rack Sessions takes one synth and gives it the spotlight, the instrument is the star. The style pursued corresponds to the unique sound of the chosen piece of equipment. Looming silver screen grandeur for “The D (Roland D-550)”, stargazing elegance with “Bell Hope (Yamaha TX81Z) or gentle rolling nostalgia for “MiR (Korg M1R)”, each work is the product of the tool selected. Beats take a backseat on the flip. Open highways and burgeoning dawns are conjured in “802 Nights (Yamaha TX802)” as the listener is transported to the expertly crafted tones of the 1980s. Koolhaas chooses his elements with subtlety, adding colour to his palette to create deeply evocative works. Attack ships cruise in the spatial “SOB (Oberheim Matrix-6)” before the stalker hunts the sodden streets of “MC202’s Act Like They Don’t Know (Roland MC-202)”.

The result is an album that is utterly distinctive. An immersive audio journey that guides the listener deep into the sounds of these very special synthsizers and the broad influences of this new talent.
