Roy Ayers – Delfonic Reworked #1 A soulful rework story – from an edit to an official release Berlin’s own Delfonic kicks off a very special series of Roy Ayers reworks with this four-track EP on BBE Music. Originally sparked by a spontaneous edit of “What’s the T?”, which Delfonic shared with BBE’s Pete Adarkwah, the project quickly gained momentum. With listeners asking for a vinyl version, this initial idea soon grew into an official release – and the beginning of a larger tribute. Drawing from BBE’s 2004 compilation Virgin Ubiquity—a treasure trove of previously unreleased Roy Ayers recordings from 1976 to 1981—Roy Ayers – Delfonic Reworked #1 offers a fresh take on the legendary vibraphonist’s sound, rooted in soul, jazz and groove. Things Gotta Change is the fourth release by Austrian soul band SLADEK, following their debut album and
two EPs. With Loveless (2024), the group redefined their sound and secured a unique place in contemporary
soul. This new ten-track album builds on that breakthrough, blending the spirit of Curtis Mayfield, Donny
Hathaway and Marvin Gaye into a style distinctly their own.
At the core of SLADEK are David Sladek (vocals, guitar), Alvis Reid (bass) and Raphael Vorraber (drums),
joined by longtime producer Mathias Garmusch. Passionate about late-’60s soul and analog recording, they
craft a warm, deep sonic palette enriched by Taineh (backing vocals, keys), Yvonne Moriel (flute) and Tobias

Mit Gala veröffentlichten Lush 1990 ihr erstes Kompilationsalbum - eine Zusammenstellung der frühen EPs Scar (1989), Mad Love (1990) und Sweetness and Light (1990), ergänzt durch zwei exklusive Stücke: eine Coverversion von ABBAs "Hey Hey Helen" sowie den erweiterten Robin Guthrie-Mix von "Scarlet". Die Veröffentlichung markierte damals den Einstieg der Band in die US-amerikanischen und japanischen Märkte. Zum 35. Jubiläum erscheint Gala nun am 14. November 2025 in einer aufwendig neu aufgelegten Edition: als Standard-LP/CD sowie als Deluxe-Coloured-Vinyl-Boxset (3x12" + 7"). Beide Formate wurden von Kevin Vanbergen 2025 neu gemastert. Erstmals seit 1990 ist Gala damit wieder offiziell erhältlich. Die Gala 35th Anniversary Edition folgt auf die 2023 veröffentlichten Remasterings der Studioalben Spooky, Split und Lovelife. The two previously unissued tracks from 1978, recorded in Los Angeles, California, re-mastered by Steve Fuji.

Steve Fuji and I have collaborated on several projects including Paris Ford, The Kopestetics, Real Side, Taxie, Kenyatta, Henderson & Jones, Natural Impulse, Ray Williams & Prime Cut. He is a valued member of Epsilon Record Co and we are grateful for his assistance and expertise.

Several years ago Steve informed me that he had a master tape from a recording session he conducted in 1978 (he believes it was at Mystic Studio) from one of the original members and co-founders of Taxie, Charles Erwin Williams II, also known as ‘Ice Cream’.

The tape was in good condition and the original version of With Love You’ll Find A Peace Of Mind was 7 minutes 38 seconds. I asked Steve if it was possible to shorten it to approximately 3 minutes.

A few days later I received several versions re-mastered and re-mixed by him and we both agreed they sounded excellent.

We hope you will enjoy this as much as we do. It is a fantastic piece of unheard Californian soul music available exclusively on Epsilon Record Co.



The B side Seaside Vibe is a killer funky instrumental with an amazing production.

A key label on the Berlin scene since the 1990s, Muller Records—famed for a deep and chunky club sound from artists like Dave DK, Claude Young and The Hacker—is back with a new EP from Beroshima feat Rummy Sharma with remixes from Namito and Pascal Hetzel. Beroshima, of course, is the production work of label Frank Muller sometimes accompanied by ethereal electronic music specialist Ulrich Schnauss. After more than twenty years together they have amassed a fine body of work that includes five albums and more than a hundred Eps!

Always mixing up acid, techno and tribal into something fresh, the Beroshima sound has its own unique signature.... For this latest single Muller steps up solo to produce another gem. The stellar Delhibelly is a slick and muscular cut that bubbles away on a bed of warming bass.... Smeared pads add soul and snares flap about like tin foil in a breeze. It's a futuristic cut that will always pack a punch in any context. The Techno Mix is just as soulful but is quicker and more expansive so as to carry dancers away on an uplifting groove. Namito is a Green Horn Records producer from Iran but based in Berlin. He is another veteran who is as relevant as ever and his mix slows things down to a deep, inviting roller with jazzy perc, absorbing synths and kinetic kicks driving things along in style. Finally Pascal Hetzel, fresh from his super CYRK release with Sierra Sam, completes this sterling great package.

His classy remix is another rounded affair full of warm synths and bass that is sure to keep energy and emotional levels high in any set. Once again here Muller Records have concocted a club ready record that both DJs and dancers will love.

Forget the Rush ist das lang erwartete Debütalbum von flypaper, dem Soloprojekt des in London lebenden Singer-Songwriters Rory Sear, das nach zwei gefeierten EPs über das Stockholmer Indie-Label PNKSLM Recordings (ShitKid, Clutter, 7ebra etc.) erscheint. Nachdem er als Frontmann der Indie-Rockband Beachtape aus Brighton bekannt geworden war, gründete Sear flypaper, nachdem er nach London gezogen war und begann, zu Hause selbst Songs aufzunehmen, inspiriert von Songwriting-Größen wie Randy Newman und Elliott Smith. Nach der Veröffentlichung von zwei gefeierten selbst aufgenommenen EPs, big nada und another orbit, löst flypaper mit Forget the Rush das Versprechen seiner frühen Aufnahmen ein und liefert einen ausgereifteren Sound, der die Intimität seiner frühen Werke bewahrt und gleichzeitig seine Songwriting-Fähigkeiten und Melodien in den Vordergrund rückt.

Merge Records wiederveröffentlicht das Debütalbum von The Clientele ,The Violet Hour" auf Vinyl. Seit seiner Erstveröffentlichung 2003 in Großbritannien bei Pointy ist es längst vergriffen und sehr begehrt. Nach dem Durchbruchserfolg von ,Suburban Light", der 2001 erschienenen Sammlung der ersten Singles und EPs von The Clientele, waren Trendsetter und Liebhaber gespannt darauf zu hören, was das Trio aus Alasdair MacLean (Gitarre, Gesang), Mark Keen (Schlagzeug, Klavier) und James Hornsey (Bass) leisten würde, wenn man es in einem Studio loslegen ließe, um ein Album in voller Länge aufzunehmen. Z-66's signature blend of powerful soul, psychedelia, and pop-clearly influenced by bands like The Move, Stones, Vanilla Fudge, and Blood, Sweat & Tears delivers a bold, modern sound that remains fresh and compelling. Unlike other Spanish bands of the time, Los Z-66 enjoyed unique conditions that allowed their sound to stand out as one of the most advanced on the local scene in the late 1960s. As was the case with many other groups, their repertoire for entertaining discotheques had to include the hits of the moment and was not always open to the songs of the most daring international bands, which was the sound that most stimulated the musicians. In the case of Los Z-66, being based in Mallorca meant they had privileged access to hard to-find records, imported by foreign tourists, and to a much more modern atmosphere than in other parts of the country. Songs in Italian and French soon gave way to English hits by the Animals, the Stones, and the Beatles. But it was the offer received from Mike Jeffries, manager of Jimi Hendrix, the Animals, and others, to serve as the house band at the newly opened club Sgt. Their excellent blend of stunning soul, psychedelia, and pop became their hallmark, not only in the band's concerts but also in the handful of singles and EPs they released on the Regal label. We are now re-releasing for the first time their only full-length album, originally published in 1969, which is actually a compilation of songs previously released in 45 rpm format, complete with two bonus tracks not included on the original LP plus a booklet with liner notes and rare photos.

Tensal is the solo project of Héctor Sandoval, also known as half of Exium and Komatssu. Since its creation in 2014,
Tensal has become the channel for his most personal vision of Techno, blending diverse rhythms and textures with a
powerful and distinctive identity. Alongside his own imprint Tensal Ltd, he has released on some of the scene’s most influential labels, including Mord, Modularz, Perc Trax, Blueprint, Arcing Seas, PoleGroup, Float, Kynant, KR3, A.R.T.S,
Warm Up and Soma, where he delivered his first LP in 2018.

He has remixed artists such as Slam, Electric Indigo, Anthony Linell, Mike Parker, Shed, Pangaea and Shifted, while his
tracks are championed by leading DJs like Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Ellen Allien, Laurent Garnier and DVS1. His DJ sets, built largely from his own productions, have taken him to more than 60 countries
worldwide, with performances at iconic clubs and festivals including Berghain, Tresor, Awakenings and Fabrik.

Beyond Tensal, Sandoval explores different frontiers of electronic music: with Juan Rico (Reeko) he formed Komando Terrorismo Sonico (K.T.S.), releasing the album Insurrección in 2021; in 2022 he launched Syndromania on Oaks
Records, a vinyl-only project fusing Techno with Trance, EBM, Electro and Acid. In 2023 he joined BPitch Control,
releasing several EPs and performing at the label’s We Are Not Alone events, while in late 2024 he debuted on Blueprint
Records with Highland Landscapes, a collaboration with Vince Watson (Amorphic), followed by a joint EP on Mord in
2025.

Having pioneered a hard-edged, reductionist style via his Geophone label since the mid-90s, around 2010 Mike Parker found himself at the vanguard of an emergent sound alongside artists like Donato Dozzy and Cio D'or exploring the possibilities of immersive, profoundly transcendental club music. The Prologue label came to define this cult zeitgeist, where reduction and repetition took on a truly psychedelic quality and the subtle details made all the difference. It ran from 2008 to 2015, laying the foundations for the deep techno sound that remains a vital, evolving subculture in the present moment.

Back on the floor for the first time since dealing a pair of deep house 12”s with DJ Sprinkles, sending a contemporary classic in »Protogravity« with Errorsmith, plus a lauded collab with Gábor Lázár – all in 2015 – Fell taps back into core club concerns last explored to this uncompromising extent on his string of »Sensate Focus« EPs released between 2012–2013. He’s hardly been slacking since then, with a slew of far-reaching avant collabs with everyone from Rian Treanor to Limpe Fuchs, Okkyung Lee to Pat Thomas, Explore Ensemble to Will Guthrie – each one blurring distinctions between producer, composer, and conductor.

The »Nite Closures« EP is worth the wait – and then some. As ever, Fell manages to retain a highly distinctive, instantly identifiable sound while also tracing and mapping new bends in the continuum. His exploration of contemporary styles and patterns is here distilled and articulated with a rare, daring playfulness and sinuous intricacy – for over half an hour he flows from frantic to almost emotional at the drop of a snare. Trust it’s not your everyday / everynight club music, with an asymmetric angularity bound to wrong-foot fresher feet, but also the type of absolutely future-facing, skewed machine funk that clubs are crying out for, even if they don’t quite realise it.

As someone who’s witnessed the dominance of colouring-book Jive Bunny DJs recycle tested ideas ad infinitum, the message is a firm do-one to myopic ravers in »Nite Closures«. From the displaced anticipations tested in its extended dub and ravishing, tweaked polymetrics on its version, through a »Large Modulos #3« teeming with organismic details, to the hair-kissing swang of »auchterhouse (inversion)« and its clipped, cascading 2.1-step reprise, Fell offers thrilling new options for the loosey-gooseyest dancers at each turn. For us, it’s perhaps his greatest record this century.

Smith has been producing emotive chords, pop ambience, and thick dub-ospheres since before the turn of the century. His output is prolific, ranging from various solo monikers (Aspen, Introverted Dancefloor) and collaborations (Skallander, Feeling Flying) to unique projects (Touching the Void soundtrack, Isolated Dreams’ 24 EPs and counting). A rare artist with indie crossover appeal thanks to the 2004 Signer album The New Face of Smiling released on Carpark Records (Toro Y Moi, Beach House, Dan Deacon, Montag), Smith has played as a member of bands such as The Ruby Suns (Sub Pop), Over the Atlantic (Involve), and Glass Vaults (JUKBOXR).

Encompassing field recordings and evoking a cloudy coastal sky, 00-04 is a collection of mostly unheard material written in the early 2000s as Smith navigated the chaos and stress of living in London just after 9/11. A portion of this release may be recognisable to those familiar with the Involve catalog––“Drone Early,” for example, is an alternative version to the dub giant “1201A”––and to those acquainted with Signer’s 2002 Low Light Dreams (Carpark/Involve), an iconic album composed of processed guitar, dub-influenced bass, and synth drones; as if that doesn’t sound appealing enough, Low Light Dreams is home to “Building Memories Without You,” an unforgettably engulfing track featured on Fact Magazine’s 25 Best Dub Techno Tracks of All Time.

Nach vier erfolgreichen EPs veröffentlichen LOKI ihr Debut-Album Cyan. November 1981 – In the heart of autumn, we set off in two cars along the Nationale 1 (!) to reach Choisy-le-Roi, where a 16-track studio was waiting for us—a place where, over the course of a weekend, we would finally be able to carve our own grooves into vinyl. We were quite nervous, as Guerre Froide had already been around for a year and a half. Our elders in Kas Product had already released two EPs—one with four tracks, the other with three—in 1980, even though they’d started only a few months before us. Admittedly, there wasn’t really a sense of urgency—some of us came from the punk movement, where the prevailing mood was still very much No Future, even if we’d long since stopped believing in it... And yet others had truly lost everything, like those from the generation before us. The reasons, ironically, were often the same: heroin and/or love—hard drugs, in both cases.

Speaking of which, I had a terrible stomach ache—due to nerves or some form of tension—which forced us to make a pit stop in the Oise region so I could rush to the toilet of a local café. That same stomach discomfort would hit me again once we arrived at the studio—whose name, incidentally, I’ve since forgotten...

We had gotten there thanks to the generous initiative of a friend, Sylvain S., known as “Perlin” (what a phonetic coincidence!?), who had specifically created the Stechak Products label to produce our record. Stechak because it was consistent with his earlier association called Tchernoziom, and Products as a plural tribute to the trailblazers from Nancy.

Guerre Froide originally consisted of four members: Fabrice Fruchart on guitar-synth (Korg MS-20), Patrick Mallet on bass, and Gilbert Deffais, known as “Bébert”, on Korg drum machine. At the time, I was already singing in a rock/post-punk band called Stress, and that’s how Guerre Froide picked up the bad habit of rehearsing in the same basement in Amiens as Stress. Within a month or two, we had half a dozen songs. We then had the opportunity to record a 4-track demo with a friend from Radio France Picardie, and to perform in October at a festival held at the Amiens municipal circus. Then came the now-legendary concert on November 11 at B.J.’s Club. After that, we self-produced and released 50 completely DIY copies of a cassette titled Cicatrice. A few concerts later—after Jean-Michel Bailleux had joined us on bass and Patrick had switched to guitar, which felt more natural to him—and with more concrete plans starting to take shape, we had to find a new rehearsal space and start renting a room.

Then came the moment when Fabrice told us he was leaving to go study in Lille... After the June 19, 1981 concert, which was naturally dubbed “Farewell to 2F,” Marie-José, Bébert’s wife, offered to take over on synth.

That’s when Perlin, who was a close friend of the Deffais couple and a great fan of our music, offered to fully finance the production of a 4-track 12-inch EP—covering the studio time, mastering, pressing, and artwork. What up-and-coming band would have turned that down? An improvised contract was signed with each member of Guerre Froide. The first step was choosing which four songs we would record. Berlin 81 was an obvious pick, having already become the group’s flagship track. We wanted to avoid reusing songs from Cicatrice, so the focus shifted to new material—some written before, some after Fabrice’s departure. Ersatz, for example, was his composition, but Mauve and Peine Perdue, which were also selected, were both written by Patrick.

Vier Jahrzehnte später, mit 13 Studioalben, 20 Compilation-Alben und einer ganzen Reihe von Singles, EPs, Live-Alben und Radio-Sessions - und weiteren in Aussicht - ist "The Wedding Presen 40" eine feiernde Reflexion dieser komplexen und faszinierenden Band. Erhältlich als vier Vinyl- oder vier CD-Box-Sets, handelt es sich hierbei nicht um eine gewöhnliche Sammlung der ,beliebtesten" Songs, sondern um eine chronologische, akustische Reise durch Albumtracks, Singles und B-Seiten. Das atemberaubende Artwork wurde von Jonathan Hitchen zusammengestellt, der viele der Original-Plattencover der Band entworfen hat, und es gibt ausführliche Begleittexte von David Gedge selbst sowie dem renommierten Musikjournalisten Mark Beaumont NME, Guardian, Independent. Pratts & Payne, the South London pub that sits around the corner from the famed home studio of producer Dan Carey, has an important place in the history of Royel Otis. When making their debut album with Carey in early 2023, the Australian duo - childhood friends Otis Pavlovic and Royel Maddell - would decamp to the pub to finish lyrics and make decisions on the direction of their first LP. "Dan would ask us to record vocals," Royel remembers, "and we'd say, 'Just give us half an hour, we're popping to Pratts & Payne', and we'd have a pint, a few shots, and get some lyrics down." Eventually, it made such a mark that they named the record PRATTS & PAIN. Across the debut album, Royel Otis swing between melodic, pop- inspired indie and woozy psych, but it never feels tied to one lane. As soon as one style or mood has outstayed its welcome, they handbrake turn into psychedelic weirdness or dissonant noise, keeping everybody on their toes. After the table was laid on the two EPs, PRATTS & PAIN brings everything from the band's history together on a record that's reverent towards their beginnings but unafraid to push forwards into new sounds. This loose, open formula for what makes a Royel Otis song is written all over PRATTS & PAIN, an album defined by its sense of fun and adventure. On the tracks 'Velvet' and 'Big Ciggie', Carey's 11-year-old nephew Archie appears on drums, and a spontaneous energy ran through the sessions, one which can be heard across the album. On first single 'Adored', they master the perfect indie-pop hit, while 'Sonic Blue' keeps this underlying energy but sets screeching guitars over the top. 'Velvet', meanwhile, has the stomping energy of Talking Heads, while 'Molly' is an unsettling and deeply atmospheric slow jam. Whatever sonic template the music might be based on though, the crux of Royel Otis comes back to a foundational DNA of mutual trust. Royel says: "We have fun together, and it's not difficult. I trust what Otis thinks and what he does, and I back it. If you back each other, something good comes from it."
