For our third Leroy Hutson 45 Acid Jazz have commissioned an exclusive edit by London DJ stars the Disco Freaks.


This see's Mr. Hutson's seminal classic Lucky Fellow make it's first appearance on 7 inch vinyl. Backed by his dance-floor winner 'Don's it make you feel good'.

This release forms part of Acid Jazz's ongoing reissue campaign of the recordings Mr. Hutson made for Curtom in the 1980s. All these releases are fully approved my Mr. Hutson, we are committed to honouring his legacy.

Hell Yeah Recordings are pleased to announce they have been tempted into the reissue market. As such, the label starts a new offshoot, PERDIO (roughly meaning 'lost' in Portuguese) which will focus on putting out re-issues and new remixes of classic or forgotten gems.

The first one is a newly remastered instrumental version and new Francisco Dub of Giorgia Morandi's 'Children of the Sky', a cover of the Italo-classic "Figli delle Stelle" by Alan Sorrenti which just happened to be released 40 years ago.

Detroit duo Ataxia offer up their 'Kodak Moment' EP via Visionquest this March, accompanied by an edit from label co-founders Shaun Reeves and Ryan Crosson.

Eric Ricker and Ted Krisko aka Ataxia have been at the forefront of the contemporary house and techno scene for some time, racking up releases on some of the leading labels across the globe such as Leftroom, Nervous, Culprit and Play It Say It, making the duo one of Detroit's finest exports in recent years. Here we see them making their debut on Visionquest, the label of fellow Detroit natives Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves and Lee Curtiss.

'VHS' leads the package with murky synth swells, resonant synth sweeps and fluttering square wave bass tones at it's core as shuffled drums carry the ever-evolving hypnotic groove along. The original mix of 'Kodak Moment' follows, shifting the focus over to snaking bass lines, mind-bending, modulating synth whirrs and dynamic, choppy percussion throughout.

Reeves & Crosson's 'Edit' of 'Kodak Moment' then rounds out the release, stripping things back to ethereal atmospherics and shuffled drums whilst subtly stirring in the original's hooky bass groove as the interpretation unfolds.

This EP shows the musical development of the past 2 years in which KAUW has translated their live sound to studio recordings. It's made with the intention to work well for the club, while all of the live elements such as acoustic drums and bass guitar are on the foreground of the tracks. It's important for the band to show the energy of their live shows in the record. In this way, this EP is a switch from the more funky, live first record (which suggests the electronic side) to this EP which is on the crossroads of live music and produced House music.

The A side featuring 'PITCH' is a bit darker and a real dancefloor killer. Hard synths, deep bass, clear drums and an intense dynamic in which you're taken on a Kauwjourney to which it's unable to stand still. The B side featuring 'Nergens' is more funky, light and sweeter with beautiful synths, funky basslines and groovy drums, inspired by the mix of '90's Disco and House. San Proper's remix takes this funky track to a real Proper-world with beautiful guitar melodies, deeper basses and extravagant vocals.

Off the back of Rudeboyz follow up EP entitled Gqomwave, Goon Club Allstars are back with an EP from UK Funky producer KG. In 2007 Karen Nyame, otherwise known as KG, was at the Nottingham Trent University producing beats on Fruity Loops. Slightly isolated in Nottingham - away from the UK Funky scene's London epicentre - KG posted her tunes on popular UK Funky message boards and Facebook pages, but never had an opportunity to properly stake her claim as one of the scene's heavy hitters. 808 and Midnight (Flute Riddim) are two lost anthems from that era, although receiving support from the likes of Marcus Nasty and others, they were largely forgotten amongst the numerous stand out tracks of the era, appearing rarely in mixes of those lucky enough to have digital copies. 808 is the party anthem, it's joyous, quivering melodies ascend above the thumping kick drum, while relentless crashing snares and carnival whistles rain down - guaranteed to heat up the coldest of dancefloors. Midnight (Flute Riddim) on the flip side is the softer, slinkier bubbler. Built for smouldering club action and hot sunny days. BSNYEA is a new addition to Goon Club Allstars' burgeoning family of artists. Hailing from the Bronx he is a veteran of the Borough's Litefeet genre that soundtracks the performances of subway dancers cross New York City's transit system. On his remix of 808 he focusses on the whistles and gutter synth lines adding in booming bass drums and lock inducing chants. Hitmakerchinx comes fresh from his anthemic Night Slugs compilation. Bringing his signature FDM energy he drops the tempo and builds on the light, airiness, letting the flutes play out softly underneath the thumping drums.

Here they both worked on the edit to find the right balance and the right sound in order to revisit the UK classic jazz funk number, a firm favourite here @ LIllyGood !The B side is an amazing disco modern soul gospel track from ELBERNITA TWINKIE CLARK already reissued some time ago but the cherry on the cake is that you have here a 12' version extended and a new mastering for extra loud play This version is slightly different than the original, Alex extended parts : the beginning with drum intro looped for mixing and changed the end to make it longer keeping the original flavour.

As one-third of Yellow Magic Orchestra and an Academy Award-winning composer for his work on the soundtrack for The Last Emperor, synth pop innovator Ryuichi Sakamoto is among the most groundbreaking artists to have emerged since the late 70s. We love this tune so much, we played it a lot already and its still rocking so we thought we share it with you on a fat 12inch for more disco soul gospel pleasure.The B side is an amazing track from SEAWIND that everybody who is into jazz funk or latin jazz with vocals will dig it. This version is different than the original, we kept only the more 'dancefloor friendly ' parts and we extended the beginning and end of the track with only drum rhythmic reprogrammed for mixing easily in your sets with other tunes. Tevo Howard was a new name when he originally dropped Without Me on his own label Beautiful Granville back in 2008. Since then the US house music hero has graced labels as respected as Rush Hour, Permanent Vacation and Buzzin Fly with his warm, charming and deceptively simple confections, but in the swirl of the considerable catalogue Howard bas built up in the past eight years it's a welcome treat to wind things right back to the beginning. This reissue of Without Me serves as a potent reminder of the gift the man has for heartfelt melodies and unfussy compositions that speak a pure and instinctive message from beginning to end.

Two of Alkan's most bombastic reworks over one disc. His scene-defining cut of Justice's breakthrough club hit 'Waters Of Nazareth' adds a subtle Chicago drum edit to the original's notorious snarl, while the Australian band's 'Why Won't You Make Up Your Mind' psych-rock is blasted through with euphoric electro energy.

Over on the flipside 'Delta Dawn' sees the guys get a little help from a famously little lady with one of the most recognisable voices in country music. But make no mistake - this is no barn dance... Breaks, bass and a healthy dose of Hammond wizardry inject the funk into proceedings to complete this 7" club weapon of mass destruction.

It's a double act that's up there with the best of them and a must have for fans of Jalapeno and high quality party music.

Absolutely stellar proto-disco jam from 1975 on the minute Shield label, Nassau County's Hokis Pokis may not be the most well known of funk / soul outfits but that doesn't mean they groove any less than any of the big guns!

'Nowhere' is a true underground classic, one for the real disco aficionados. One of those grooves that straddles the thin lines between rock, soul and funk. This is a proper club record and in the right hands will keep a dancefloor locked in and moving.
Speaking of 'right hands' this special 12" reissue sees NYC DJ and edit royalty Danny Krivit tastefully extend the original 3.32 7" A-side version into an extended club jam. Never one to utilise tired filters, loops, sweeps and so called laptop 'production methods' Danny turns in a fine extension that is subtle, effective and most of all - funky. A truly glorious slice of uplifting dance music 'Nowhere' is an essential purchase for those of you who dig the real deep stuff.

In recent years Moiré has become an integral figure in re-imagining club music. The enigmatic artist has travelled a note-perfect path and in just a few years has collaborated with fundamental record labels such as R&S, Werk Discs and Rush Hour. After his second and long awaited album "No Future" (Ghostly International, 2017), Moiré's "BBOY EDITS 01" is the first signing on C.E.E. The four track EP is comprised of unreleased material designed for the dance floor and provides continuity to his much prized Neversleep series. Club Excursionista de l'Electrònica (C.E.E.) is a moral, spiritual and cultural entity founded in 1875 in Vall de Camprodon. C.E.E. includes thousands of anonymous members who are organized into subdivisions and enjoy Sunday excursions into nature to end the weekend, where the joys of nightlife give way to clean air and mountain pursuits. C.E.E. can be described as "electronica folklorists", with a select catalogue of sounds from across the continent and beyond that represent an ethnographical journey through the most modern treatments of songs and popular dances practiced in clubs and tents all over the region.

Muscle and Mind is the return of Oscar Mulero to long plays, after Grey fades to Green and Black Propaganda. 'Muscle' and 'mind' may seem antagonistic terms in real life, but in terms of music they make sense together, especially when talking about techno.

The coalition of introspection and abstraction is not incompatible with the rough and the percussive, and this
album is a good example of this. The underlying message behind the title refers to the reflection of mental states in the body, the genesis of emotions where body and mind are managed by the sense of hearing.

Throughout these twelve tracks, one can dive into the musical world of this producer whose discourse mutates in every album, always intricate, always meticulous. Darkness acts as a thread and repetition as hypnotic therapy. But now, he sets his usual hard sound aside and looks for a much more cared for and precise sound , where there is room even for a harmony and musicality that go hand in hand with danceability.

The combination of atmospheres and rhythms is constant throughout the album. Each of the cuts has been prepared with few sonic elements. He takes elements away one by one, and keeps exclusively the necessary.

A record that has been developed during endless hours in airports and travelling, absorbing influences from all over the planet. Made in solitude but surrounded by people who don't know what you are really doing on that computer. To close the circle, the album was mixed in professional studio using solid state technology, which gives this work a unique warmth that cannot be achieved in a domestic environment.

Muscle and Mind will be released on vinyl and CD. The digital version will include extra tracks which will also be published in an EP. This will precede the album with edited tracks from the album and remixes by Stanislav Tolkachev and SHXCXCHCXSH.

The long established and critically acclaimed DJ-Kicks series kicks off 2017 with suitably accomplished DJ, producer, vocalist and instrumentalist Matthew Dear at the helm.A man of many musical hats, Texas born, Detroit raised Dear has a wide reaching discography that takes in face melting techno as Jabberjaw, dark avant-pop under his own name and intricate minimal as Audion.Often with a gothic slant and full of curiousness, his pensive but playful music is an intoxicating distillation of many different influences, often withhis own stylised vocals at the centre.

Straight out of Queens NYC, Love Letters makes their debut on YIELD. The 5th tape release is accompanied by the first vinyl release of the imprint. Love Letters provided 3 stunning and diverse cuts of the track 'Ducue', traversing the variety of early house sounds.

The 'Single Mix' is the classic House jam with a warm piano, jacking groove and seductive vocals by Love Letters themselves. 'Xtended Dick Dub' sets the mark at a stripped back and hot pace. Its penetrating groove and thumping low end will make it impossible for any dedicated dancer to stand still and ignore the energy. On the flip side is the 'Turtle Bugg & L.L. Unsurprisingly, Richard Galling, does indeed hail from Milwaukee, having released disco inspired jams since about 2012. With his stuff getting plays on the likes of Beats In Space, he got his name out early. His latest offering is this single that features two original tracks and some remixes too. '303 features the eponymous bass machine all over this deep, arpeggio-heavy tech-disco jam, 'Organ' swaps the 303 for a classic Robin S-style house organ, and 'Prophet' adds some big room bass. Also included is a Prophet version of 'Clear Water", a real late 80s, Shep Pettibone-style, Latin house joint. Luke Solomon's Body Edit, is absolut Dancefloor HEAT !!!!

Lion—and the mean ecstasy of You've Got A Woman,' the B-side to their sole release—comprise a rare burst of psychedelic-Western soul from two names best known for Dutch progressive rock and new wave. Drummer Peter de Leeuwe, departing from the symphonic leanings of Dutch prog-fixtures Ekseption, penned it in 1975, layering syncopated explosions of hand-claps, vibraslap and slick drumwork with neutron-star density, with super-producer Hans van Hemert nearly bursting Glenn Robles' vocals through the fore. The Shoes Subtle Edit' provides exactly that, gently teasing the organ- and requintohinted contours of the track to better suit the treasure within. Chicago-based septet Whitney have brought some attention to You've Got A Woman' with a recent cover, and the faith with which they recreate much of the original instrumentation proves the extent of Lion's accomplishment.
