Das Album beschert der Band nach dem Vorgänger "Life Decides" erneut die Auszeichnung "Tipp des Monats" in der Juni-Ausgabe des Rock Hard. 2019 erscheint der Song "Bring The Rain" im Rahmen der EP "Ready For A War" und wird bis heute mehr als zwei Millionen Mal gestreamt - einer der größten Erfolge, die Surrender The Crown bisher verbuchen konnten. Am 29 September 2023, veröffentlicht die Saabrücker Hard Rock Band, SURRENDER THE CROWN ihr viertes Studio Album "IV - THE HEALING".

The Macks are brothers Josef and Ben Windheim, Sam Fulwiler, Jacob Michael Perris, and Aidan Harrison. In 2022, the band came out with their lockdown project "Rabbit." Their raw and progressive take on rock and roll launched the band towards festivals and tours from Idaho to Mexico City. Now in 2024 The Macks are cutting deep. The band will release The Macks Are A Knife in a dogged pursuit of being the sharpest band from the PNW to date.

IN SCHWARZER TINTE: Neues OCHMONEKS Album geht unter die Haut!
Neues von den Düsseldorfer OCHMONEKS: Zweieinhalb Jahre nach der Veröffentlichung ihres dritten Studio-Albums “GEGENWIND” kündigt sich mit "IN SCHWARZER TINTE” nun das vierte und wohl vielseitigste Werk der
Düsseldorfer an. Nicht nur die Fans der Band dürfen gespannt sein. “IN SCHWARZER TINTE” macht zwar genau da weiter, wo “GEGENWIND” aufhört - allerdings übertrifft sich die facettenreiche mit Band mit ihrem vierten Opus erneut selbst.

Musikalisch ist “IN SCHWARZER TINTE“ gewohnt vielfältig. Zu hören sind neben energiegeladem deutschem Rock auch harte Metal Riffs und emotionale Akustikgitarren. Sogar eine straighte Rock’n’Roll Nummer, die an die allerbesten Zeiten von Marius Müller-Westernhagen erinnert, hat es auf das Album geschafft.
Lyrisch landen die OCHMONEKS wie gewohnt direkt auf dem Punkt - die Hörer dürfen sich auf Emotionen, autobiographische Erlebnisse und unmissverständliche Aussagen freuen. Dabei greifen gleich drei der 11 brandneuen Songs inhaltlich auf verschiedenste, kreative Weise das Thema Tättowierungen auf - ein sicherer Grund für die Wahl des Albumtitels.
“IN SCHWARZER TINTE” steht jedoch nicht nur für die Tattoos, die einem das Leben in Höhen und Tiefen verpasst, sondern auch für die Verbindlichkeit, mit der die OCHMONEKS seit 2015 unterwegs sind. Die Band macht konsequent einen Schritt nach dem anderen und hat auf ihrem Weg bereits so manche Hürde genommen.

BOTANIST nehmen uns auf ihrem zwölften Album "Paleobotany" auf eine Reise mit, die 70 Millionen Jahre zurück in eine Zeit führt, in der Dinosaurier den Planeten beherrschten und die ersten Wälder zu Kohle wurden. Bevor der apokalyptische Einschlag des Chicxulub-Asteroiden das Zeitalter der Giganten in Flammen untergehen ließ, wuchsen auch viele Pflanzen, deren Artenfamilien auch heute noch Nachkommen haben, zu erstaunlichen Größen heran. "Paleobotany" kommt mit all jenen Markenzeichen daher, die BOTANIST aus der Masse aller Metal-Acts auf diesem Planeten hervorheben. Lyrisch dreht sich bei der Band aus San Francisco, Kalifornien alles um Pflanzen - ein klarer Bruch mit den üblichen Genre-Klischees wie Satan, Drachen und Bier. Ihre Musik ist einerseits deutlich im "Metal" verankert, doch statt 6-saitiger Gitarren verwenden die Amerikaner 110-saitige Hackbretter. Zur Verwirrung aller Traditionalisten statten BOTANIST die perkussiven Saiteninstrumente aus der Folklore mit magnetischen Tonabnehmern aus und verzerren sie mit verschiedenen Mitteln, die von Verstärkern über analoges Tonband bis hin zu digitaler Manipulation reichen. Der daraus resultierende Sound ist ebenso einzigartig wie spektakulär. Die kontinuierliche klangliche Entwicklung von BOTANIST begann an einem hörbar vom nordischen Black Metal geprägten Ausgangspunkt. Die Band entwickelte aber bald einen offeneren, avantgardistischeren Stil, der zu einer wachsenden Komplexität führte. Auf "Paleobotany" haben die Kalifornier einige der verschlungenen progressiven Elemente zugunsten songorientierterer Arrangements wieder abgelegt, die dennoch weiterhin detailreich bleiben und voller Überraschungen stecken. Dies wird dadurch verstärkt, dass das Album vom renommierten schwedischen Produzenten Fredrik Nordström (DIMMU BORGIR, OPETH, AT THE GATES) im Studio Fredman abgemischt wurde. BOTANIST bleiben eine einzigartige Band. "Paleobotany" erweitert die dunkelgrüne Klangpalette ihres Avantgarde-Metal-Sounds zu einem zugänglicheren und dynamischeren Klangerlebnis. WITCH’s musical arc is contained to a five year span and, in retrospect, is a logical one. The band’s fifth and final rock album - released before the band splintered and an offshoot band traveled to Zimbabwe to record and release disco albums - makes use of traditional Zambian rhythms and folk melodies alongside progressive rock movements. Like Lukombo Vibes before it, it is in the Osibas “afro-rock” style.

"Philadelphia’s So Totally are a portrait of utmost devotion, and how longevity in any kind of relationship can’t occur without it. Since 2015, the band originally called So Totally In Love has humbly studied their surroundings and themselves, perfecting a sound that from inception was present. So Totally’s shimmering guitars and melodies typically sit underneath lush vocals that concurrently embed themselves in a listener’s subconscious, haunting them with heavy mood and nostalgia for 90’s rock groups like Swirlies, Pixies, and The Breeders. Previous releases, and their dedication to spending years playing regionally, brought So Totally to the point of singular focus on drafting a third album, entitled Double Your Relaxation, while in quarantine in 2020.

Upon formation, So Totally collectively bonded over an admiration of Land of Talk. While the influence is certainly present in vocalist/guitarist Roya Weidman’s sugary vocals, the band's love of comfortably resolving melodies, and auxiliary percussion, So Totally sonically have more in common with bands like Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, and Spirit of the Beehive…creating massive walls of sound on each record that plainly implies the quartets towering live experience. Such huge tones aren’t only because of Weidman and guitarist/vocalist Matt Arbiz playing, but the collective effort of the band, which is rounded out by bassist Ryan Wildsmith and drummer Joe McLaughlin.

Lyrically and thematically, Double Your Relaxation explores where influence and “hypnosis” exist in life, specifically in environment, media, relationships, and self (via mental illness), bouncing between perspectives of witnessing, interacting with, and contributing to illusion and how that ultimately affects our idea of identity. The moody and, at times, surreal nature of the songs lends itself very appropriately to the shoegaze and heavy indie style So Totally plays, making them a perfect addition to the canon of the genre."

Demolition Squad were lost in the realms of time. That was until Vinyl Fanatiks tracked down DJH, whose Dad owned the record shop Dance Force in Kings Lynn in the early 90s and started a record label in the back of it. DJH was 15 when he wrote his debut EP for the label – The Bass Project. That white label was selling for £300 a copy on Discogs and was recently re-released and quickly sold out on Vinyl Fanatiks (VFS006).

Off the back of the success of his EP, DJH wanted to track down the Demolition Squad and about a year later he found one of the band, who reached out to the other band members and everyone agreed… the time was right for a repress, 29 years after its original release.

With copies on Discogs reaching £60, this EP is a proper dose of UK hardcore.

Freedom is deeply rooted in the working-class rock of the 70's and 80's, giving us a sound like no other. With meaningful lyrics, power chords and mighty choruses, they're inevitably creating a soundtrack to the journey of life itself. Nicke Andersson once described Freedom as a "bargain basement Springsteen" - a band making music meant to follow you through thick and thin, far into those never-ending summer nights.
Since Freedom first started in 2019, they've established themselves as an amazing live act, filling clubs throughout Sweden with both energy and audience. In 2022 they were honorably chosen to play at the official release party of The Helicopters at the notorious Hamburger Börs in Stockholm.

The band recently added two new members to the crew: Ola Göransson (Heavy Feather, Stacie Collins) and Matte Gustafsson (In Solitude, Siena Root, Heavy Feather). Their combined experience of heavy roots-rock and sense of stage presence, makes Freedom one of Swedens strongest live bands - guaranteed.
Their self-titled debut album from 2021 became a great topic of conversation, leaving a permanent mark in the rock-world of Sweden. Finally, it's time for the awaited second album to be released - once again produced by Martin "Konie" Ehrencrona (Viagra Boys, Håkan Hellström and Les Big Byrd).

Im darauffolgenden Jahr wurde das Debütalbum "Solstice of Oppression" veröffentlicht, das von ausgiebigen Tourneen begleitet wurde, aber das Label von Oppressor ging kurz darauf in Konkurs. Um ihren Namen in der Öffentlichkeit zu halten, veröffentlichten Oppressor eine halb Live-, halb Studio-Compilation namens "European Oppression Live/As Blood Flows", Live-Material, das sie auf ihrer europäischen Support-Tour für ihr Debüt gesammelt hatten, und Studiomaterial, das aus dem kompletten "As Blood Flows"-Demo der Band von 1993 bestand.

Friska Viljor is a Swedish duo from Stockholm, Sweden formed back in 2006. Bravo! is the band’s debut album released in 2006. The album had great results in Europe. “The Swedish band friska viljor have

The trio has found its sound and hovers between alternative and grunge, between stoner riffs and spacerock anthems. The joy of playing and sympathy that this band radiates can be heard in every note. Das MEANWHILE PROJECT LTD ist zurück - Knappe vier Jahre nach MARSEILLE erscheint ein neuer Longplayer des Kölner Projekts. Das Duo um MARCELL BIRRECK und MARCUSADAM ist mittlerweile zur fünfköpfigen Band angewachsen, die das neue Album mit der Unterstützung weiterer Gastmusiker gewohnt opulent und vielschichtig präsentiert. SIR MANDRILL wartet erneut mit einer üppigen Palette unterschiedlicher Stilrichtungen, die sich dabei gekonnt miteinander vermischen. So verschmelzen auch hier wieder Chansons, Folk, PostPop, Indie-Rock, Alternative, Ambient und noch viel mehr zu einem großen Ganzen, das in seiner Gesamtheit absolut stimmig wirkt. Nach Bigband-Arrangements von Coltrane-Klassikern nimmt sich Christophe Dal Sasso nun Chick Coreas „Three Quartets“ vor. Unter Leitung des Arrangeurs nimmt sich seine vielfach ausgezeichnete Big Band das legendäre Album des Pianisten vor, das nach dem Vorbild von Streichquartetten komponiert ist. An vorderster Front stehen in den Fußstapfen von Michael Brecker drei außergewöhnliche Saxofonisten: David El-Malek, Stéphane Guillaume und Rick Margitza. Rolling Stone hailed the band’s “hazy, psychedelic Americana,” while NPR praised their “explosive live performances and infectious roots-rock swagger.” Dates with Fleet Foxes, Wilco, and Dawes followed, as did festival appearances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Newport Folk, and Coachella, among others. One could say Celtic Frost is to Triptykon what Winter is to Göden. Their debut album, “Beyond Darkness” stood on its own in creating a distinctive world. Now, four years later, they explore new sonic territories with their second album, “Vale of the Fallen”. While "Beyond Darkness" was a concept album that propelled listeners into space, whether inner or outer, “Vale of the Fallen” brings us back to twisted reality. Their more in-your-face approach should only intensify the experience-much like a walk through a post-apocalyptic landscape in the bleakest imaginable conditions. Exploring both ends of the tempo spectrum, the release offers two opposing sides of the band’s musical personality. Side one consists of seven short, sharp shocks that have a total running time of less than seven minutes. Inspired by grind, punk and hardcore, tracks like “Starved,” “Rusted Gold” and “Amputation” are some of the fastest offerings the Arizona death metal squad has ever recorded. Influential jazz collective Idris Ackamoor and The Pyramids retu rn with an epic new opus, 'Shaman!', released on 7th August featuring a fresh line-up including original 1970s Pyramids member Dr. Margaux Simmons on flute, Bobby Cobb on guitar, long-term associate Sandra Poindexter on violin, Ruben Ramos on bass, Gioele Pagliaccia on drums and Jack Yglesias on percussion. The band transitions from the political and social commentaries of 2018's acclaimed 'An Angel Fell' into more introspective themes. "I wanted to use this album to touch on some of the issues that we all f ace as individuals in the inner space of our souls and our conscience," explains Ackamoor. Jim Jarmusch and Carter Logan (founding members of SQÜRL) return with a sonic exploration of the cinematic works of Dadaist pioneer Man Ray, a captivating project that melds music and film. Over the past eight years, SQÜRL have been enchanting audiences with their live scores to Man Ray's short films across sold-out shows in prestigious venues like the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, and the Art Institute of Chicago. The culmination of their endeavor took place in the spring of 2023, on the 100th anniversary of Man Ray's inaugural foray into filmmaking, when the newly restored Return to Reason premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Produced by Womanray (Marieke Tricoire) and Cinenovo (Julie Viez), Return to Reason unfolds as an anthology featuring four silent short films by Man Ray _ Étoile de mer (1928), Emak bakia (1926), Le Retour á la Raison (1923), and Les Mysteres du Château de Dé. (1929) _ each paired with an original score by SQÜRL. Jarmusch and Logan, two multi-disciplinary artists known for their experimental prowess, approached these scores as a way to create an ecstatic state, a space between consciousness and unconsciousness, reality, and the surreal. The resulting album, Music for Man Ray, born out of a live recording at the Centre Pompidou in Paris in February of 2023, features distorted guitars, hypnotic feedback, loops and affected synthesizers. In the words of Logan, "It's a journey we want to take the audience on, illuminating themes throughout these films.
