Renowned party DJ, producer and collector The Gaff deals in all sorts of global grooves and here links up with Caleb Hart, who was born in Tobago and is now based on the west coast of Canada. They collide their vast inspirations into a global bass banger inspired by years of crate digging. 'Let's Build' is a big sound with big drums, dark synth grooves and hooky future soul as well as a sleazy vocal. Calypso, bass house and a dark piano all collide in HD colour. The instrumental is no slouch either, and both of these are sure to bring the heat this winter and beyond.

Helena Hauff's Return To Disorder keeps it disordered with legendary producer DeFeKT next up with his vision of twisted electro. 'My Mother' has a dark undercurrent but is doused in synth radiance that provides great comfort, so if you ask us, it's a fitting title. It's texture that again stands out on 'Disastrous Infinity which has a squelch, acidic lead wriggling about the mix, pounding drums and crispy percussion that all pull back to reveal pixel-thin and eerie pads. 'No Coffee' is a dense and gauzy world of ice-cold melody and rigid grooves, and 'Soaked' turns the same vibe up to 11. 'Phaser' and 'Early Morning Tea' close out with opposing energies - raw and prickly, then more smooth and serene.

The Illegal Disco Limited series makes its return with a purple vinyl treat. On the A-side, Monsieur Van Pratt delivers two sure-fire weapons: 'What About Me', a familiar sample flipped for today's dancefloors, and 'Sunset Driver', a killer reconstruction of MJ's rare demo. By weaving in her own vocals, Hemka adds a deeply personal and authentic layer that resonates with both the body and mind. Following the strong reception of her track 'Fragrance' on the 'Federation Of Rytm III' compilation, this potent new EP is a powerful reflection of her bold, emotional and forward-thinking artistic voice and the start of an exciting new chapter with SHDW's Mutual Rytm.

Pop Vampires Cologne will kick things off; their surrealist debut masterpiece, Karianne, was already released at Total 25 last year. PVC lives up to its name. Like vampires, oskø and Wassermann once again sample their way through the pop supermarket of unlimited possibilities.
Almost overnight, in their illegal, digital garage, they clone hybrid sound structures, saturated with both foreign and self-injected blood doping. Forbidden fruit is known to taste the best. Consciously, explicitly, and provocatively, PVC explores sampling as an indispensable stylistic device, a universal tool for quotation and pop networking. Equally daring and respectfully irreverent, they oppose the new, all-disenchanting AI search engines on the internet with the freedom of art. The rest is surrealism. Just like the accompanying video, which isn't a video in the conventional sense, but rather a kind of making-of with Sabine as the main front character. Coastal Commission “Bring Down the Walls” “Bring down the Walls” was a nod to Raze’s “Break for Love”, Robert Owens “Bring Down the Walls” and Ritchie Hawtin’s use of the Roland 606 throughout “Sheet One.” We gave the tune a Californian psychedelic twist with conga laden drums, a moody synth, low pulsing 303 patterns + Benjamin Zephaniahs patois call to “Move the Body Rhythmwize!” The first PCH releases had dropped Worldwide to International acclaim from DJ’s far and wide across the Globe with support in London, Paris & New York. However the local scene here in L.A that preached “Love, inclusion & Unity” was anything but that. L.A at that time was very tribal & divided up into 3 camps. If you weren’t affiliated with any of them (aka independent) then you were pretty much locked out of getting any kind of gig support or the Dj’s from those camps actually playing the music. The local feedback from Dj’s was that what we were making wasn’t “house,” but “Techno” which was absurd to me. “Bring Down the Walls” was a mantra to “move the bod”y and in doing so “bring down the walls” of separation not just in L.A but throughout society in general. Thank goodness for support from people like Terry Francis, Eddie Richards, DJ Deep & Philly Stalwart King Britt. After years of copies going for upward of $100+ on Discogs the now freshly remastered copies by At Jazz’s Martin Iveson are finally hitting the platters this Spring.

Jesse Outlaw “Let it Go” I met Jesse at Beatnonstop Records on Melrose Ave with Miguel Placencia in the late 90’s. Miguel (RIP) was a mainstay in the Underground scene and had always been very supportive of my endeavors. He had had success with a huge release on Yellow Orange and was working with Jesse under the moniker “When Worlds Collide.” I signed “Brighter Days” & “Set you Free” from them and released the tracks on my Seductive imprint. They told me that they were making the tracks on a Sony Playstation “Music Now” program and I was like FFS “What.s more Underground than that!?” Later Jesse gave me some of his solo work. The track “Let it Go” was never mastered & only ever cut to Dub-plate and featured on my 1st PCH mix “Pacific Coast House Sounds.” It has now been mastered by Martin Iveson and is available in all it’s glory. The dreamy vocal “You need to let it go” beckons over the top of driving percussive Latin beats and church organ which is a great compliment to the flip side of “Bring down the Walls.” All in all two West Coast stompers now finally available remastered on PCH in Orange vinyl.

uper Deception dives into the uncanny beauty within the everyday, drawing inspiration from M.C. Escher’s idea of “super deception”: the art of creating the impossible without illusion. Textures and samples are lifted from their origins and reimagined, creating tracks that feel both ancient and futuristic, physical and dreamlike. The result is an electronic landscape where sound folds in on itself: a timeless, shape-shifting exploration of rhythm, resonance and perception.

Nelson of the East is a Berlin-based sound artist, producer and educator. He operates at the intersection of experimental composition and club culture, shaping his craft both as a music teacher and behind the scenes as an experienced ghost producer.

From the depth of transient memories comes ‘Some Leaves Must Fall 聽其自然’, Temple Rat’s latest EP and the inaugural release for Martin Gilleshøj’s ‘Buttheads’ label.

Across 6 tracks Temple Rat distills fragments of spatial memory, merging conceptual ambience with the mystic, spatial, and driven edges of deep trance and hypnotic techno. A pensive and functional synthesis, one played out like an ode to the sustained.

Through 2024 while moving between Berlin and Sichuan, Temple Rat conceptualized and finished ‘Some Leaves Must Fall 聽其自然’. At its core, the work is an exploration of how the personal memory of cities and their particular acoustic environments can be transmuted in musical form. For these places, altered by the passing of time and the shifting of contexts, mirror the fluid and generative nature of sound itself.

Creatively this approach was borne out in a kind of archaeology of sound: by sampling and capturing auditory fragments Mei was able to preserve otherwise fleeting moments of experience. Sonics which not only embodied the emotions of the present but served too as a mechanism of recall, pulling memory back into focus even against the erasures of time.

In its method this project seeks to transform the sonic textures of urban and natural environments into high-energy dance tracks, exploring the tension between the certainty of space and the uncertainty of time. A tension operating not only within the structural logic of the sound itself, but so too as an affective experience, extending into the listener’s body and perceptual field.

For we are not the first to note that in a world of pervasive temptation and fragmented information, sustained listening has become rarified. Through this project, Temple Rat hopes to counter this tendency; to encourage a deeper mode of listening that restores attention, re-establishing our essential connection with the present.

Long recognized for beat structures that feel precarious, rhythms that seem to strain, erode, and reassemble in real time, he approached Particle with a renewed focus on allowing these patterns to fully resolve. Melodic elements are given a more direct role, actively driving momentum rather than hovering in the margins.

Emphasizing clarity and immediacy, Particle favors tactile sound design and forward-pushing arrangements over density or abstraction. The result is a notably focused Dryft release that functions as an all-encompassing signpost for Cadoo’s electronic output to date, informed by decades of exploration while remaining resolutely forward-looking

Ihr gleichnamiges Debütalbum „The Womack Sisters“ aus dem Jahr 2026 ist der musikalische Höhepunkt der langen und kurvenreichen Reise der drei Schwestern auf der Suche nach sich selbst. Moroccan-born producer Reda Senhaji, better known under the name Cheb Runner, presents 80K, the second installment in Beat Machine’s TERRA TEMPO series. A direct tribute to the cultural heritage of the Souss Massa Darâa region, the release reactivates ancestral rhythms and translates them into a forward-looking electronic language rooted in place, memory, and physical sound.

Drawing from traditions such as Ahwach, Gnawa, and other interconnected practices from the Souss region, the EP preserves original rhythmic skeletons while reimagining them through modern production and club-oriented structures.

Across six tracks, traditional instruments and electronic elements collide fluently, where the 808 functions as a structural force rather than an accent. From the rolling pulse of Iznagn Engines and the evocative contours of Azn Oudrar to the spiritual resonance of Gn-Awa, the B-side expands the journey with the sub-heavy Afouss Adar 808, the atmospheric Tarwan Ganga, and a reinterpreted Gn-Awa by Guedra Guedra, layered with intricate textures and low-end pressure.

Moving between bass, world, and electronic territories, 80K reflects a deliberate balance between preservation and transformation. Music that carries ancestral rhythms into new listening spaces, bridging generations, cultures, and sonic worlds within a single, cohesive experience.

Sweeping Promises wurden der weltweiten Punk-Underground-Szene durch ihr Debütalbum "Hunger for a Way Out" bekannt, das sich während des Pandemie-Lockdowns zu einem der größten Überraschungserfolge der Musikszene entwickelte. 2023 legten sie mit ,Good Living is Coming for You" nach, einer satirischen, hyperkritischen Abrechnung mit dem Kapitalismus, die es auf die ,Album des Jahres"-Listen von Pitchfork, NPR, Paste und der BBC schaffte, um nur einige zu nennen. Bassistin/Sängerin Lira Mondal und Gitarrist Caufield Schnug beschlossen, ihren Ansatz auf ihrer dritten LP ein paar Grad weiterzuschrauben. Das große Thema von "You Say I Romanticize" wird bereits im Titel angedeutet. Ausgehend von einer Textzeile aus dem Album-Closer ,Write Lightly" - einer Erzählung darüber, wie die Bedeutung des Selbstausdrucks beim Schreiben durch ,professionelle" Bedenken zunichte gemacht wird - sind viele der Charaktere, die Sängerin/Bassist Mondal hier ausarbeitet, Ausgestoßene, von der Gesellschaft an den Rand gedrängt und zu Fanatikern für eine Fülle spezifischer Anliegen geworden. Das viszerale Songwriting auf You Say I Romanticize wird von einem ebenso viszeralen musikalischen Ansatz begleitet. Sweeping Promises holten den Live-Schlagzeuger Spenser Gralla in die Aufnahmesessions, um den Songs eine ähnliche Dringlichkeit wie bei ihren Live-Auftritten zu verleihen. Die Raserei der Ausführung zeigt sich auch in Mondals Gesangsdarbietungen. Neben der Liebe von Sweeping Promises zu ihrer künstlerischen Gemeinschaft existiert auch eine Schattenseite - entstanden aus Sonderlingen, die ihren ,Ausgestoßenen"-Status in lebendige Kunst und Punkrock-Musik umwandeln. "You Say I Romanticize" greift das Ethos auf, das Mondal und Schnug entwickelt haben, und erforscht die obsessiven, fanatischen Aspekte des Ausgestoßenseins und der Isolation durch die Mainstream-Gesellschaft.

On "Chauffeur," The Womack Sisters reflect on the trials and tribulations they each faced while trying to make rent as car service drivers. A HARD-HITTING groove, and impassioned background vocals drive the song as the sisters plea "How many miles do I have to burn... Just to keep my place?"

There are no flowery metaphors here. This song is about the real struggles people face to survive everyday, in this case grappling with the futility of trying to stack meager fares into rent money.

There is an ecstatic melancholy in Dent May’s music. The bedroom pop auteur’s songs are both bittersweet and exuberant, breaking your heart while you can’t help but sing along.

Over six albums, May has built a wildly diverse discography spanning 17 years. He has typically worked alone, assembling perfect pop gems on his laptop, playing nearly every instrument himself. But when he began preparations for his new album, May’s tried and true process suddenly felt stale.

The Big One brings together both the scrappy DIY ethos of Elephant 6 Collective and early The Magnetic Fields with May’s lifelong affinity for the great ’70s singer-songwriters like Harry Nilsson and Ram-era Paul McCartney. The songs balance a clear-eyed view of the world with a cautious optimism, looking at the everyday experiences of disappointment and heartbreak with a sense of possibility for the good that may still come. Things might seem bleak, May tells us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be thankful for our brief time here on Planet Earth.

The title track is the beating heart of the record. Over a steady drumbeat, piano, and accordion, a melancholy May sings, “The big one’s coming, the big one’s on its way,” promising disaster. But May won’t wallow in the misery: “Thank the Lord for all my friends/We can make it ’til the end/No we can’t stop now/Who knows? Tomorrow it all could turn around.” For May, hope comes in the form of others.

It’s with this joyful melancholy Dent May draws in the world. Everything might be ending, the planet could be careening off into chaos, but tonight there’s a party down the block and you’re invited. Be sure and bring your friends.

Epicentre was an R&B/funk group formed in Seattle, Washington by keyboardist Ric Ulsky. The band developed a loyal following, playing the extensive NW club, concert and dance venues throughout the mid-to-late 1970s. Their sound was a blend of melodic R&B and powerhouse funk that dependably filled music venues throughout the Western US. Bernadette Bascom was the lead vocalist, who captivated audiences with her powerful yet velvet-smooth voice and commanding, magnetic stage presence.

In 1978, Epicentre worked with Seattle producer Don McKinney to record their music in Seattle's now legendary Kaye-Smith studios. The result was seven strong, fully -produced R&B songs, with occasional horn and string orchestrations tastefully added to the final versions.

Their music quite literally sat on a shelf for decades until McKinney decided that all the hard work and talent should no longer remain undiscovered and it needed to find its audience. He restored and digitized his copies of the master tapes and looked for an opportunity. A chance call to the former leader of the group, Kell Houston, led to a serendipitous introduction to UK boutique/funk/R&B label founder Russell Paine. The result was an agreement to release their music, starting with two songs, "When You Were In Love With Me", and "Magic Carpet."

Footnotes: Lead singer Bernadette Bascom became a protegé of Stevie Wonder, and was the first artist to be signed to his label Black Bull , starting a period of collaboration between the two. Bermadette is the daughter of Reverend Dr. Marion C. Bascomb (1925-2012), one of Baltimore's major civil rights voices and pastor emeritus of Baltimore's Douglas Memorial Community Church. Ric Ulsky eventually left the group to play keyboards and tour extensively with The Association. You can also find Epicentre's music on the compilation album "Seattle Funk, Modern Soul & Boogie: Volume II 1972-1987." In addition to Bernadette, the musicians on the 1978 sessions are Kell Houston, keyboards, Michael Cox, bass, John Carmondy, guitar, and Ricky Lynn Johnson, drums and vocals. While their recorded material is primarily original, Stacy Christensen from Seattle's Gabriel contributed two of his compositions.

Cold, Bold & Together (CBT) CBT was founded in Bellingham, Washington in 1971 by percussionist Tony Gable and musicians Solomon Harris, Keith Hooks and twin brothers TC & Jamar Jenkins. It soon became evident that Bellingham was not a particularly welcoming environment for R&B music, so they moved to Seattle to try their luck and plumb the rich supply of venues, which they successfully did until disbanding in 1978. They spent their early Seattle years playing a combination of covers and originals in clubs, later becoming the "go to" opening act for various nationally known artists, such as Ohio Players, Kool and the Gang and Earth, Wind & Fire. While they were paying their club circuit and opening act dues, they squeezed in recording sessions whenever they could and released their own material, which was well-received and got strong regional airplay. However, because of the feudal nature of the music business at the time, they just couldn't break out, and like a lot of Northwest bands with great potential, they inevitably broke up and went their separate ways. Upon disbanding, they left behind a collection of original recordings at Seattle's legendary Kaye-Smith studios.

Unfortunately for CBT, the studio passed through several owners and at some unknown point in time, one of them did the unforgivable and destroyed the storied studio inventory of two-inch tapes and quarter-inch masters. Unknown to the band, a copy of their masters was smuggled out by their producer who added them to his legacy collection of cloned quarter-inch masters. After several years and many moves, he became concerned about the tendency for magnetic tape to deteriorate over time.

He sent the tapes to a Seattle lab to be restored and digitized, with the hope that perhaps, some day, they might be made available for the listening pleasure of R&B fans. The hoped-for day has finally arrived. Russell Paine and Super Disco Edits has pressed two of the Kaye-Smith CBT tracks: "Go For It", a jazz-influenced instrumental, featuring Kenny G, and "Unity", sung by the group en masse with Tony Gable singing lead. The musicians on these tracks are: Tony Gable, leader, vocals and percussion Harry Alexander, drums Kenny Gorelick (now world-renowned "Kenny G"), sax, flute and horn arrangements Chris Ishi, trumpet Michael Young, Trombone Jamar Jenkins guitar, vocals TC Jenkins bass, vocals 1 Philip Woo, keyboards Footnotes: CBT gave legendary saxophonist Kenny G his start in the music business. Kenny was still in high school when he was recruited to play sax and write horn arrangements. Kenny co-wrote, arranged and played sax and flute on the instrumental "Go For It." He rips a smoking tenor sax solo in the middle, which showcases his already masterful technique and solidifies his R&B bona fides. He went on to have a spectacular career recording for Clive Davis and Arista Records. Before his untimely passing in 2016, Tony Gable went on to found contemporary Jazz group, "Tony Gable and 206" (206 being Seattle's then only area code). With songwriting, performance and production help from Kenny G.

Yet another solid gold modern reimagining of the mighty Loleatta Holloway, this time her infamous 1977 smash 'Hit & Run' goes under the knife and is tweaked to devastating effect by 2 of Chicago's finest modern day editors - Jamie 326 & Cratebug. Anyone with even a passing interest in Disco or House will be more than familiar with these 2 guys names. Having edited and remixed numerous cuts in their own original ways, they take this all-time Salsoul classic and strip it right back to the essence, to the very basics, and in the process create a total dancefloor weapon. This edit originally came out a few years ago (2013) on a compilation that showcased the new wave of contemporary talent emanating from the Windy City and naturally it was one of the cuts that stood out, finding favour with a wide variety of DJ's across the board from Motor City Drum Ensemble, Todd Terry, Jeremy Underground Paris, Theo Parrish and more. Drawing comparisons with Paperclip People's anthemic 'Throw' from 1994 in the way it snatches a killer loop from 'Hit & Run's' bassline, 'Hit It & Quit It' is a monster, a record you'll literally play over and over and over again, a relentless Disco juggernaut that oozes power. It made perfect sense for this legit single-sided reissue 12" to come out on Salsoul Records, the home of Loleatta Holloway's finest material and all of her classics. This limited reissue has been made in conjunction with Jamie 3:26 & Cratebug and Salsoul Records, 100% sanctioned and lovingly re-presented for your dancing pleasure. This one is HOT. Well. Where do we start with 'Deep Inside' Originally released in the golden NYC House era of 1993, this 5 tracker literally smashed everything in sight. And still does now! The epitome of an evergreen, all-time classic release. Masters At Work Louie Vega and Kenny Dope were on a major roll in this era, producing, remixing, dj-ing and everything in-between, these guys put in ridiculous work. They are joined on this EP by a roll-call of names and collaborators, Erick Morillo engineering the title track Check. Maurice Joshua on co-production duties You got it. Vocals by Ms. Barbara tucker They're there. Killer, rock hard drums Stacks of Soul Masterfully chopped up Disco samples All present. Serious stuff. Sometimes a record just manages to capture and distill the true essence of what this is all about and 'Deep Inside' is one such record, it bears all the hallmarks of golden era MAW, all the signposts of what was happening in NYC's clubs in the early to mid 90's were there within it's grooves. A landmark release for both the label and its founder as Kasra releases his debut solo EP. The Ski Mask EP features 4 tracks of rolling low end and marks the start of a new phase for him to make his mark as an artist as well as DJ.
