New twelve inch of vintage Wackie's on City Line. The A-side features two of the best Wackie's deep roots tunes previously only released on compilation, which have long needed single release. Stranger Cole's somber "Capture Land" about the reality of squatting in the ghetto, followed by Wanachi's instrumental cut of the brilliant rhythm you might know from Azul's 'Black Rose.' The B-side features a really unique previously unreleased tune from one Moon Dread. Operatic, semi-acoustic and haunting, if you like early Ras Michael & The Sons of Negus, this tune offers a maybe less spiritual and more theatrical but still compelling take in that vein from about a decade later in the late 1970s. Comes in new Wackie's company sleeve.

Recorded at the Choreographers’ Workshop in New York, 1963, Waaghals Records presents two songs from Sun Ra’s Continuation sessions on vinyl for the first time. Known for its lo-fi recording quality coupled with heavy use of echo and reverberation, the material recorded at the Choreographers’ Workshop holds a special place within the Sun Ra catalogue. This unique blend of avant-garde jazz and bold production methods is described as “low-budget musique concrete” by Sun Ra biographer John F. Szwed.

Taken from the 1970 Saturn album Continuation, side a features the complete unedited version of New Planet. A bouncy Ra track that somehow ends up in a sound-bath of low, throbbing frequencies and echoes. The b side, Meteor Shower, remained unreleased until 2014, making its first official appearance on vinyl here. The opening trumpet salvo warms us up for a micro trip through the vast cosmos, with more echoed percussion and a beautifully bowed bass solo. It is no surprise that in recent years this particular piece has been sampled, most recently by RP BOO and Armand Hammer.

Armed with the legendary Casio MT40 keyboard, or "Sleng Teng Keyboard," Manudigital has connected with singers and MCs who have written the history of the UK scene rooted in Jamaican culture: ragamuffin, jungle, grime, drum & bass, stepper, and more. All the developments in Jamaican music born in England over the last thirty years are represented here by a "who's who" of those who have shaped and continue to shape this exciting scene.

Austrian electronic music producer Peter Kalcic, better known as B.Visible, is set to release his third studio album titled "Life is my Hobby" on October 10th through his own imprint, Data Snacks.
This new album sees B.Visible continuing to blend genres, drawing inspiration from the trip-hop sounds of the 90s, the R&B of the 80s, and mellow house music. True to his signature style, he maintains a balanced mix of acoustic drum sounds, electric pianos, and shimmering synths.
Unlike his previous works, the creation process for "Life is my Hobby" extended beyond the traditional studio setting. Much of the album was crafted in his newly moved apartment and various cafes in Vienna's 5th district. His collaboration partners were close to home, literally-Anda Reverie and Silvia Ponce Marti, his upstairs and downstairs neighbors, respectively, feature as vocalists on the album.
Silvia Ponce Marti's contribution for instance is featured on the track "Ella," which addresses the sensitive issue of the hyper-sexualization of the female body in today's society. She also created a stunning mixed media video for the song, which can be viewed here.
Anda Reverie appears on the track "Bad Karma," portraying an alien questioning the moral implications of humanity's destruction. The music video for this song brings the scenario to life with dreamy environments and unsettling projections.
B.Visible describes the album's creation as guided by causality, resulting in a less experimental and more accessible sound-his closest encounter with pop music to date. Asked about the title he keeps quite. The listener is encouraged to form their own opinion from the impressions.

Come Play With Me present the fourth edition of their compilation album, Side By Side, Vol. 4, supporting women, marginalised genders, LGBTQ+ artists and people of colour with ties to the North of England. The compilation features seven tracks spanning a range of genres including Alternative Rock, R&B, Jazz and more. shaene sensitively captures the feeling of falling back into sync with a distant best friend on the compilation’s lead single “tom”. Set to a backdrop of synthetic soundscapes, fingerpicked and distorted guitars, Maddie Lara’s “Let Go” marks an impressive debut for the Merseyside-based artist. The compilation will be available both digitally and on vinyl via the CPWM website and select stores, alongside all major streaming platforms. set reissue. This deluxe and expanded edition features a 58-page photo book, poster, the original double album plus a nine-track bonus vinyl with alternative edits and demo tracks from the time, all on transparent wax. The exclusive, limited edition boxset comes first on September 27, then all tracks come digitally in mid-November.

Gidge is the Swedish duo of Jonatan Nilsson and Ludvig Stolterman, who has also taken all of the photos in the booklet. As
friends since high school, they have a deep connection, a great understanding of one another and a shared love of Nordic
woodlands. The spirit of the northeastern forests they grew up around has always coloured their music and lent it an organic,
ethereally, otherworldly edge that conveys feelings of inner peace.

Their brilliant debut album Autumn Bells captured all that in nine accomplished tracks that picked up critical praise from the music
media and millions of online streams. More importantly, it also won them a dedicated fan base who appreciate the art of Gidge's

Born and raised in Sicily but now based in Berlin, SLV is known for his innovative approach to techno and its various shades. He has released on revered labels like Soma and received support from key industry players who respect his ability to blend old-school vibes with modern production techniques. Away from the club, he also produces music for film soundtracks, adding a sense of cinematic edge to his techno cuts and is a master of both analog and digital technologies - a true audio engineer who crafts unique, compelling sounds. Having previously featured on the labels Federation of Rytm III compilation, he returns to SHDWs Mutual Rytm imprint with his Night Echoes EP to open up October.

Graustufen opens with punch drum programming and scintillating percussion that dances atop the groove as booming bass brings serious weight down low. The superb Grand Cayman is another potent techno weapon, this time with icy synth atmospheres and eerie moods pervading the tightly programmed drums and bass to deliver an unstoppable force. RARE1 showcases Soukah's versatile approach to production - His organic style, based on dark synthesis and unorthodox drum patterns, is a true representation of the Rarefied sound.

'JAK FOU' is the result of six months of studio time, the classical piano riff combined with haunting percussion results in an experience akin to ingesting 18 grams of psycobilin. On the flip side 'Loner' is a far darker, moodier affair. Written solely by candlelight, the production evokes the darkest elements of Soukah's soul. This track is best enjoyed alone, in the wilderness.

Throughout the latter half of the seventies, Joni continued to creatively break ground with her fearless and fluid exploration of jazz. Rather than tread the same path, she challenged and reinvented her style with a folk fusion like no other. Ascending to an unrivaled sonic peak, this innovative sound took shape across the gold-certified HEJIRA 1976, the gold-certified double-LP DON JUAN’S RECKLESS DAUGHTER [1977], her collaboration with Charles Mingus entitled MINGUS [1979], and live album SHADOWS AND LIGHT [1980]. Channeling the thrill and excitement of these records, she delves even further into this season on JONI MITCHELL ARCHIVES, VOL. 4: THE ASYLUM YEARS (1976-1980), due October 4th.

Available as a 6CD, 4LP (featuring Joni's personal favorites from the 6CD set), and digitally, this comprehensive and essential set spans one of the most prolific periods of her storied career. It boasts powerful live tracks from her time in Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue during 1975 and 1976 Tour of the United States. It pulls back the curtain on the music by showcasing early recordings and alternate takes from the respective sessions for HEJIRA, DON JUAN’S RECKLESS DAUGHTER, and MINGUS. It covers the Bread & Roses Festival as well as the Anti-Nuclear Rally. Finally, VOL. 4 chronicles her 1979 tour, even showcasing two tracks from that year’s Tour Rehearsals. Not to mention, it showcases her versatility and adaptability, housing collaborations with everyone from Herbie Hancock and Jaco Pastorious to Wayne Shorter and Pat Metheny.

Vol. 4 culls the previously-unissued material from original stereo reels, cassette tapes, CD-Rs, and even a radio broadcast. Newly mixed tracks came from multi-track tapes, while a handful of hi-res digital tracks have been sourced from the Bob Dylan Archives.

Each version includes a book with never-before-seen photos and liner notes comprising a deep dive discussion between Mitchell and longtime friend Cameron Crowe. As part of their candid conversation, she shares intimate anecdotes, memories, and stories from that five-year creative run.

John Davis is a sound artist and filmmaker based in the Bay Area. Active since the mid-aughts, he has published recordings on labels such as Root Strata and Digitalis, as well as on his own Bimodal Press imprint. “Landlines” sees a return to the SOD catalog for Davis, following a full-length release in 2013, and may be seen as somewhat of a spiritual successor to that album. In all of Davis’ work, there is a specific pastoral sensibility that feels firmly rooted in the forests and coasts of Northern California, moving with the delicate and erratic cadence of dust motes rendered visible in bright sunlight. Opening track “Verichrome” articulates the soundscape wonderfully, stitching together Music Mouse-esque formant synthesis and meditative vocal sampling with an exquisite minimalist suite for prepared piano. Of these recordings, Davis himself writes, “In a general sense the conceit here is nostalgia, a desire to reflect on the importance of connection – to ourselves and to the world around us. The title is, of course, a euphemism for the telephone, but I am also considering landscape, horizons, and infrastructure, as well as the invisible lines that connect us, the threads that bind us, and the communities that form us.”

Bad Vibrations veröffentlicht.
Geschrieben und aufgenommen während 2022-23 und abgemischt von Mildlife's Jim Rindfleish, verkörpern die neun Tracks auf dem Album den fuzzy
groove-geladenen Psych, für den Nice Biscuit bekannt ist, während es neue tanzbare Gefühle einführt, die von ihrer Liebe zu Disco, Jazz-Fusion und
Weltmusik beeinflusst sind.
Mit dem wunderbar hypnotischen und beruhigenden Gesang der Frontfrauen Billie Star und Grace Cuell geht es auf SOS darum, Ruhe und
Ausgeglichenheit in unserer chaotischen Welt zu finden.

Following up on last years debut release, Chontane returns with Manx, the second EP on his label, TANE. This five-track collection continues his exploration of sound design, moving into fresh territory while retaining the distinctive energy that marked TANE001.

With TANE002, Chontane invites listeners into a diverse sonic landscape, emphasizing mood, texture, and the subtle intricacies of rhythm.
Manx marks a significant progression in Chontanes artistry, expanding on the
foundation set by TANE001, which echoed the nostalgia of 90s and early 2000s rave culture. While his first EP blended old-school, rave-inspired techno, atmospheric tracks, and a touch of jungle, TANE002 boldly ventures into new, uncharted territories. It challenges traditional genre boundaries, delving deep into the potential of sound design, and offering a forward-thinking perspective that feels attuned to the future.

The EP highlights Chontanes dedication to capturing a wide spectrum of moods and textures within a single record. The title track, Manx sets the stage with a dark, hypnotic presence. Rich in layered textures and atmospheric undertones, the track fuses a powerful kick with resonant toms, deep subs, and eerie pads. Haunting, glitchy vocal snippets add an extra dimension, making Manx a compelling, immersive experience.

On Gazebo, the EPs A2 track, Chontane shifts the energy, delivering a composition that balances driving rhythms with a melodic core. The combination of dynamic drums with an epic, mystical theme creates a piece thats both uplifting and introspective, standing out for its ability to evoke grandeur while maintaining a sense of optimism.

The B-side leans into a more shadowy atmosphere, with Oolean blending metallic
percussion and a throbbing bassline. The tracks ominous pads and powerful kick drum propel it forward, creating a narrative thats intense and captivating.
B2 offers a fitting conclusion to the vinyl release, presenting a track that blends dreamy, atmospheric melodies with a robust kick and driving sub-line. The mystical qualities of this composition make it an evocative and memorable closer.
The digital-only track, Thumb Print, rounds out the EP with a relentless, peak-time experience. Its hypnotic rhythm and expansive sense of scale make it a standout track, perfect for igniting dance floors and capturing listeners attention.

For a few years until 2014, Indirect’s rehearsal studio was located at the abandoned Odesa drugstore “Аптека No326”, whose stained glass window is depicted on the album cover. The many hours spent there practicing and recording have ended up as a 7” Walts and a digital LP Ab Pharmacy in 2014 on Muscut and Diskultura labels.

Zur großen Freude der Band, der Trikonts und der vielen Braut-Fans da draußen und 35 Jahre nach Bandgründung. Was noch fehlt? Eben! Deshalb! Songs quer durchs Braut-Universum auf Vinyl - von jedem Album ein paar Perlen. Euphorische Girlpower-Pop-Energie. Fotos und Songtexte gibt"s noch obendrauf. Wie schön ist das denn... Und da ist nochmal ganz klar, wem die größte Liebe der Braut gehört: dem Popsong. Jeder der drei-bis-fünf-Minuten-Songs ist eine Welt für sich, blickt vom Makro- in den Mikro - Kosmos ("ÜberAll"), durchs Schlüsselloch ("Wenn Du gehst") oder in die Sterne ("Mann mit Hang zur Depression"); bei der Braut hängt der Himmel eben immer voller Rhythmusgitarren. Und warum machen die Trikonts das? Für die Millionen, die sie damit verdienen werden, eh klar. Aber auch und vor allem, weil die ursprüngliche Plattenfirma alle Tonträger eingestampft hatte... und natürlich, damit man sich nicht nur an die Band mit diesem seltsamen Namen erinnert, sondern vor allem an ihre mitreißenden Hop"n Roll-Pop-Cow-Songs. Wenn diese Band kein Role-Model für feministische Power, für ihre Entschlossenheit und ihren Humor ist, wer dann?

Wie war das noch gleich? Die dritte Scheibe einer Band ist das ,Make-It or Break-It"-Album? Kontrolle aus Solingen und Düsseldorf könnte das nicht egaler sein. Ihr kalter, 80er- beeinflusster Wave-/Post-Punk-Sound wurde schon beim 2017er-Debüt ,Egal" begeistert aufgenommen und mit ,Zwei" (2021) verfeinert. Und so gab es für das Trio nie einen Anlass für eine grundlegende Sound-Änderung, eine Umstellung der Herangehensweise oder ein Schielen auf Trends. Das genau beweist ,Grau", Kontrolle-Album #3. Denn wenn das dritte Album von KONTROLLE etwas unterstreicht, dann, dass die Band noch kompromissloser zu Werke geht. Ihre Hardcore- und Punkwurzeln sind hier deutlicher denn je zu erkennen. Die breite Soundwand, die das Trio um Gitarrist und Sample-Meister Carsten Wagner, Sänger und Bassist Daniel Brangs und Drummer Andrew Collar kreiert und erneut in der Tonmeisterei bei Role Wiegner in Oldenburg auf Band gebannt hat, bestätigt diese Vermutung. Aber da sind ja auch noch die prägenden, markanten dunklen Elemente, die als Gegenpol eine sphärische Dynamik schaffen, die zwischen hypnotisch und eruptiv pendelt. Und das funktioniert nicht nur vor der Bühne, sondern auch auf der Tanzfläche. Die deutschen Texte von Sänger Daniel behandeln aktuelle Themen und Sorgen in gewohnt KONTROLLE-typischen Passagen, die oft mit einem Augenzwinkern auch politisch Stellung beziehen. Bisweilen spielen sogar Alltags- und Haushaltsgegenstände nicht zu unterschätzende Rollen in der ,kontrollierten" Beschreibung der deutschen Realität. Die Covergestaltung lag erneut in der Hand von Schlagzeuger Andrew, der diesmal neue Wege beschritt: Hunderte selbst geschossene Fotos bildeten den Grundstock für eine Collage von original ca. 1,5 m x 2 m. Alle Bilder wurden in mühevoller Kleinarbeit ausgeschnitten und zusammengestellt. Das Gatefoldcover ist somit ein Kunstwerk für sich und eröffnet mit jedem Blick neue Details. Erscheinen wird die LP am 27.09.2024, wieder auf dem für handgemachte Releases geschätzten Kölner Label Holy Goat Records. Fink veröffentlicht neues von Flood produziertes Studioalbum ‘Bloom Innocent’!

„Bloom Innocent“ ist der schwerkraftabweisende, wolkenkratzende, nach den Sternen greifende Klang eines Mannes auf einer Mission: sich selbst herauszufordern, Erwartungen zu entkommen, sich von all seinen früheren Errungenschaften zu befreien. Es ist ein großes und geräumiges Acht-Spur-Wunderwerk, das mit zartem Klavier, ohrenbetäubender Gitarre und Finks souligem Gesang glüht. Das Album wurde größtenteils in seinem Berliner Studio aufgenommen, mit einem Verbündeten, der ihm in London zur Seite stand: der bereits genannte Flood, einem der größten Plattenproduzenten der Welt. „Flood ist ein Künstler.“, sagt der Sänger über den Produzenten, der, wie Fink, das Studio als Spielplatz betrachtet. Mit „Resurgam“ zogen wir in seinem Haus ein und er produzierte uns, als wären wir U2 oder Depeche Mode. Jetzt bin ich so stolz darauf, diese Songs in unserem Arsenal zu haben.“ „Bloom Innocent“ fühlt sich an wie ein klassisches Album aus der Zukunft. Das heißt, Fink hat sich tief in die Idee des Studios als Instrument und des Albums als Artwork vertieft. “Live In Liverpool” was recorded during the last night of the “New Adventures” tour at Grand Central Hall, Liverpool, UK, on October 18th, 2019. It features true P.P. Arnold classics, like “The First Cut Is The Deepest” and “Angel Of The Morning”, as well as special live versions of the songs from “The New Adventures of... P.P. Arnold”, such as “I Believe”, “Hold On To Your Dreams”, Paul Weller’s “Shoot The Dove”, the Northern Soul classic “You Got Me”, and Steve Cradock’s “Still Trying” and “Magic Hour”. This special live performance is a true testament to P.P. Arnold’s versatility as a vocalist and her charisma as a performer, and shows just how effortlessly her rich, soulful voice lends itself to various genres, from soul to rhythm and blues to rock and pop. “Live In Liverpool” will be released as a CD Digipak edition and 180g black double vinyl, packed in a high- quality gatefold jacket on October 18, 2024, via earMUSIC.

Maelstrom returns to Central Processing Unit for the fourth time, and it's the one born Joan-Mael Péneau's lengthiest drop on the Sheffield label yet. The French artist has been a mainstay in the European electro game since the 2000s, and Malestrom brings that experience to bear on new LP The FM Tapes. He goes about this album with the assurance of a seasoned pro, combining his mastery of electro production techniques with a trademark guile to craft an expertly-paced eleven-track affair.

The first section of The FM Tapes sets out the album's stall with style and aplomb - listeners are in store for a rich feast of off-kilter machine-funk which will feature no shortage of intriguing detours. On opener 'Ondes Courtes' the mix throbs with all manner of strange electronic gristle: a distorted bass hum rattles the monitors; wisps of distortion float across the mix; eerily pretty keys wax and wane before giving way to a radar pulse.

'Ondes Courtes' is an ominous slouch of a scene-setter, and it lines things up perfectly for following cut 'Alt50ser' to lock in. This track's churning, gurgling mid-tempo rattle brings to mind the wacky insistence of Modeselektor. Maelstrom repeats the slow-fast one-two again directly afterwards - 'La Vie Sociale Des', a strange nugget that sounds like an early Eski instrumental stripped for parts and blasted into the cosmos, is an ideal prelude to the twitchy space-funk of 'My Digitone'.

Maelstrom's staying power in the electro world comes, in no small part, from his ability to apply his delightfully idiosyncratic choices to some of the genre's staple production tropes. On The FM Tapes, he marks himself out once more as a pleasingly unorthodox talent by taking tracks in unexpected directions to produce surprising - and often rather moving - results.

There are multiple cuts here which channel the more cerebral end of Richard D. James' AFX/Analord output: 'My Digitone' may be a quicksilver techno-electro number, but there's still something cinematic about the synth treatment here which softens the edges; 'Suede's minor-key oscillations bring other CPU veterans like Cygnus and Bochum Welt into view; 'Res 06', one of two Fasme collaborations on the record, is full of pathos even as the beat programming bangs and whirrs throughout.

While there's a deep emotional undercurrent to The FM Tapes, though, Maelstrom's commitment to bringing the thrills surfaces time and again. If 'Res 06' had Maelstrom and Fasme getting wistful, the album's other Fasme link-up 'Trempo' is one of the hardest club joints here, a piece of old-school Detroit energy replete with some great cascading drum production. Indeed, 'Trempo' comes in the middle of a run towards the album's end where Maelstrom takes the handbrake off - there's a wild-eyed sense of fun to 'The Operator' and 'Upside Down DX7' which has one thinking of the zany cut-and-thrust of KiNK's best work.

Maelstrom's latest drop for Sheffield's Central Processing Unit label is an album of leftfield electro numbers that bring both pounding beats and poignant production.

UK-born, Lisbon-based DJ, Producer, Songwriter, and activist Megatronic joins the RNT roster with her ‘Do I Belong To You?’ EP, a bold statement of her soulful and visionary sound. Phill Most Chill grew up in Conecticut half hour away from Boogie Down Bronx and by the late 80s had already established himself in the hip hop scene, having released a very strongly received (and eventually highly collectible fetching amounts in the high three digits) single (On Tempo Jack/ That Girl), the preccedent setting left field Baritone Tiplove releases and writing for the seminal Rap Sheet magazine. The Arcahaelogists' Classics and Soulman's World of Beats tape series and column further established him as an elite beatmaker and sample collector, with highly acclaimed producers seeking him out to purchase records in conventions. The random rap craze brought renewed attention to Phill Most's releases in the late 90s, leading to reissues of On Tempo, the release of previously unissued Baritone Tiplove records, his return with the Lo-Fi EP, and then the highly influential Fast Rap EP on Nobody Buys Records which led to a flurry of funky uptempo releases across the globe again. The interest in Phill Most records over the whole 2010s was rabid, with further releases produced by Bankrupt Europeans, Mr. Fantastic and Chris Read flying off the shelves, and two full length albums produced by 90s stalwarts Paul Nice and DJ Format, as well as the recent Jorun-PMC album being now considered classics in the boom bap scene. Having now signed with Chuck D's Spitslam label, Phill Most continues his journey in stepping all over MC conventions, and these first two Analog Mutants release are a perfect example of this.

DJ Snafu has been part of the Bankrupt Europeans crew since 2004, co-founding Nobody Buys Records in 2012 with the other two Bankrupt Euros members. Huge collector of vinyl from the 50s ad 60s primarily, and with an interest in modular production, FM synthesis and marrying modern techniques with the love of sampling old records, the Analog Mutants project is his first without the Bankrupt Euros crew. Having produced among others for Chill Rob G on his seminal return to music with the classic Tell 'Em on the Chilled Not Frozen EP, Roc Marciano on the Goodfelons label, DITC legend AG on The 21st Day and Chicago legend MC Juice's return to vinyl after 15 years, this is Snafu's first whole album to produce since Rise of Demigodz' debut album The Cornerstone in 2006 (released in 2013). Snafu shows he's honed his skills and developed an even crazier side to his production in the 5 year that passed between the last Bankrupt Euros project and the Analog Mutants album and the first three Analog Mutants singles are a sign of things to come in the post Bankrupt Euros years.

DJ Grazzhoppa got infected in 1983 with the hip hop virus, demolishing local DJs and winning the European DMC Championships in 1991, and taking 3rd place in the ITF World Championships in 1998! His unique and immediately recognizable style was first heard on Blade's legendary 12” Clear The Way, and caught so many ears that the list of MCs and producers who queued up to work with him is seemingly endless. From MF Doom, Ruste Juxx, Guilty Simpson and Cage to Necro, Keith Murray, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap and of course the Bankrupt Europeans projects with Phill Most Chill, MC Juice and Chill Rob G!
