For fans of Montrose, Van Halen, and Hard Rock! Red Voodoo is breaking out on the scene with their electric stage presence, polished harmonies, and classic but fresh new take on Rock ‘n’ Roll. Based out of Sacramento, CA the group has been playing clubs since 2019 and released two singles “Rise Up” and “Bring It Back” in 2020. This led to opening spots for heavy hitters in rock such as rock n roll hall of famer Sammy Hagar, Bay Area legends Y&T, Everclear, Slaughter, and many more. Red Voodoo is the youngest band to date to play the Monster Of Rock Cruise alongside Alice Cooper and Buckcherry. Now Red Voodoo has just wrapped up recording at the famous Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco working on their5 track EP with Grammy nominated producer Jaimeson Durr (Don Henley, Sammy Hagar, Nancy Wilson, etc....). Red Voodoo consist of lead singer and frontman Dino McCord, Lead Guitarist Davin Loiler, Bassist Andrew Edwards, and Drummer Andy Nathan, and is summed up best by former Van Halen vocalist, “RED VOODOO is a breath of fresh air in today’s pop culture of music. Operation Sole like the summer, hopefully, imminent; “Operazione Sole” like the 1967 song by Peppino Di Capri, considered, perhaps wrongly, the first ska in Italy, but certainly the first to talk about Jamaica and upbeat rhythms.
The record you have in your hand is intended to be a testimony to how much the sounds born in Kingston between the '60s and '70s had a significant influence on local pop.
With the first explosion of reggae in England between 1968 and 1970, as well as with the rise of Bob Marley to a worldwide cult phenomenon, parallel to the all-English phenomenon of Two Tone and the ska revival, Italy, always attracted by the new trends not only English, he certainly couldn't stay on the sidelines.
Therefore these innovative and unknown upbeat sounds, derived from the blues of the 1950s and mixed with a Caribbean sauce, have also taken hold in the Bel Paese.
It began as early as 1959 with the song “Nessuno” by Mina, considered to all intents and purposes a Jamaican shuffle, to arrive in a few years at blue-beat (I4 di Lucca, Claudio Casavecchi) and ska (Margherita, Peppino Di Capri , Silvano Silvi, Renzo and Virginia) and be exposed to the first reggae (for example Jo Fedeli and his Italian version of “Israelites” by Desmond Dekker). Thus, we quickly reach the end of the decade of the economic boom and the culture, styles, references change: everything becomes more busy (on a cultural, artistic and political level).
After a stalemate phase that lasted more than five years, Bob Marley's reggae (considered a sort of new Messiah) conquers the planet, including Italy: the producers and artists, even at a high level, for a few years do not remain at all indifferent to this novelty and decide to introduce the "upbeat", primarily reggae, into the various pop repertoires: well-known names such as
Loredana Bertè, Mario Lavezzi, Rino Gaetano, Ivano Fossati, Ilona Staller, Adriano Celentano, Edoardo Bennato throw themselves headlong into new sonic adventures, in a pioneering way, but often with excellent results.
The "Operazione Sole" collection wants to take the credit, instead, of proposing and discovering lesser-known artists (with the exception of Gino Santercole, former associate and relative of Il Molleggiato), often real meteors in the Italian musical panorama, who have tried to achieve (or achieve again) success by adapting the pop that was so popular in those years to the new black sounds prevailing in the West.

“Live in the Galaxy”, the live recording by late-’90s/early-2000s hard rock band Union is coming to vinyl
for the first time. Originally released in 1999, “Live in the Galaxy” was recorded during Union’s first tour
in support of its self-titled debut album. Union featured the pairing of guitarist Bruce Kulick and
singer/guitarist John Corabi. Kulick had spent 12 years as the lead guitarist in KISS during the nonmakeup era and was featured on several multi-platinum albums

Dokken, formed in Los Angeles in 1978, had several hit singles which charted on the Billboard Hot 100,
such as "Alone Again", "In My Dreams", and "Burning Like a Flame", and has sold more than 10 million
albums worldwide. The classic Dokken line-up consisted of founder Don Dokken on vocals, George Lynch
on lead guitar, Mick Brown on drums and Jeff Pilson on bass. One Live Night is the 1996 semi-acoustic
live album of the then reunited Dokken who recorded the album before a live audience at The Strand,
an intimate concert venue in Redondo Beach, California, on December 13, 1994

Seitdem ist viel Wasser den Rhein hinabgeflossen, und Peter Hein hängt "das Frühwerk am Hals wie ein Mühlstein". So zumindest singt er im Stück "TCM (Polychemie)" vom Album "Xenophonie". Hein klagt zu Recht. Denn auf "Xenophonie" klingen die Fehlfarben ungemein frisch. Der Opener "Dekade 2" stellt sich mit einem Wahnsinnsriff vor; kurze Zeit später erklingt Peter Heins Stimme mit eben jenem typischen Ausdruck, diesem Gesang, den nur er beherrscht: dringlich-konkret und doch voller Poesie und Melancholie. Bei aller Ernsthaftigkeit kommt die Lässigkeit nicht zu kurz, seit "Resistance" von Family 5 war Hein nicht mehr so locker. Und im Schlussstück, dem fast zehnminütigen "Herbstwind", verwandeln sich die Fehlfarben in Riders on the Storm, ehe ein Fortuna-Düsseldorf-Schal den schönen Spuk vertreibt. Produzent der im Berliner Hansastudio live aufgenommenen Stücke war Moses Schneider (Beatsteaks, Tocotronic).

Vor allem der einzigartig giftige deutsche Gesang von Huwe wurde schnell in die ungezügelte und aufkeimende Szene der glamourösen Düsternis eingebettet. Die Unabhängigkeit des Punks vom starren Griff der Tradition erlaubte es der Band, Trost in einer Anti-Establishment-Kunst und -Musik zu finden, weit entfernt von den Konventionen der Vergangenheit. Mit ihrem Pfauenhaar und den dick mit Kajal umrandeten Augen bewahrte sich die Musik von Xmal Deutschland sowohl eine Unruhe als auch eine Zartheit, die mit der Veröffentlichung der Single "Incubus Succubus" im Jahr 1982 die Grenzen der "Neuen Deutschen Welle" (ähnlich wie ihre Kollegen und Freunde DAF und Einstürzende Neubauten) überschritt. Sie wurde sofort zu einem Post-Punk-Klassiker. Die Gitarre wühlt sich durch die Melodie, während die schaurige Primitivität von Huwes Stimme andeutet, dass sie vielleicht, nur vielleicht, die alptraumhafte Kreatur ist, vor der man sich in Acht nehmen muss. Die B-Seiten, "Zu Jung Zu Alt" und "Blut Ist Liebe", halten sich an strenge militaristische Tanzbeats, während sie in Aufregung wimmeln. Im selben Jahr trat die Band in London als Support für die Cocteau Twins auf; das war die Plattform, die sie brauchten, um in die Arme der zerrissenen Netzmassen zu stürzen. „Early Singles 1981-1982“, ist eine Karte der grundlegenden Bewegungen von Xmal Deutschland, nur Sekunden vor dem Abheben. Die Bonustracks auf der Compilation, "Kaelbermarsch" und eine düstere Live-Version von "Allein", unterstreichen die Verschmelzung von Härte mit der quixotischen Dekadenz atmosphärischer Synthesizer. Das Streben der Band nach etwas Größerem ist spürbar, zu einer Zeit, in der nach dem Aufkommen von Punk neue Möglichkeiten des Musikmachens offenstanden.

Lapell's deft lyrics jostle with love song tropes, grappling with love's finitude and the irony of how codependency and longing are revered in popular music. A ghost story is woven through the album: waltzing in the dusty barroom country of "Blue Blaze," buried in the superstitious lyrical streak of "Rattlesnake" and audible in a wheezing organ as it shuts down at the end of "Footsteps."

Still, "Anniversary" emerges as an earnest celebration of commitment. Earworms like "Anniversary Song" and "Someone Like You" showcase intricately layered harmonies, while closer "Stars" affirms that there's no place the speaker would rather be than with the one she loves. Dekker and Lapell assembled a stellar cast of musicians to support Lapell's powerhouse vocals, piano, harmonica and signature fingerstyle guitar.

The core band includes Dan Fortin on bass, Jake Oelrichs on drums, and Tania Gill on the church's piano, harpsichord and organ. Rounding out the ensemble's sensitive orchestral arrangements are Rebecca Hennessy (trumpet), Rachael Cardiello (viola), Michael Davidson (marimba and vibraphone) and Joe Lapinsky (pedal steel), who also engineered and mixed the record. Abigail Lapell has garnered three Canadian Folk Music Awards, hit number one on Canadian folk radio and reached a staggering 40 million + streams across digital services. She has toured widely across Canada and the U.S, and will be touring internationally (UK, EU, AUS and more) in 2024.

Opening 4 intense stories EP in side A1 is Giuseppe Angeloro, a talented young Italian producer with one of his tracks that has already ignited several European dancefloors. He will share this side with one of the co-founders of the Offenbach-based HWSD collective Cedrik Dekowski and his strong jamming Roayal, spinning the record will be done by label cofounder Luca Piermattei with Italian voices inside the track, in company with a techno groove and melodic track by the other talented HWSD producer now based in South Korea, Thilo dietrich. These are four different tracks but with a minimum common determiner , that of having a killer instinct for your dancefloor!

Singles V1 is a 6 track, 12-inch beautiful marine blue coloured vinyl EP. It is also the first physical release by Low Girl. As the title suggests the EP is a collection of the band’s singles up to the end of 2023 which features Big Now, So Cool, Blessing, Bored, Uh-Oh and Pockets. If you haven’t yet heard of Low Girl, be in no doubt, you will do soon. The band are a four-piece fronted by singer songwriter Sarah Cosgrove with band mates Toby Morgan, Tom Cosgrove and Bradley Taylor and it is clear to see that their popularity has been steadily growing since the release of their first single Big Now in 2021. The band have featured on the BBC Introducing Stage at the Reading Festival and played at the Texas SXSW Festival at the invite of The British Music Embassy in 2022. They have also regularly toured and provided support for acts such as October Drift, Pale Blue Eyes, The Murder Capital, Dream Wife and most recently Dekker. Low Girl’s indie pop, lo/fi sound, attributable to its vulnerable lyrics, synth licks and guitar driven riffs, has attracted admirers and radio airplay on BBC Radio 1, Radio X and particularly at BBC Radio 6 music, who have play listed a number of the band’s singles. Indeed, their single ‘So Cool’ was one of BBC Radio 1 Introducing’s singles of the week in April 2022 and ‘Bored’, was featured on the Late in the Day program’s International Women’s Day 2023 edition alongside Arlo Parks, Bjork, Sade, Nina Simone and other premier female artists. Sarah Cosgrove has also joined the panellists on one of August’s editions of Steve Lamacq’s round table together with Felix White and Deadletter’s Zac.

April 1980 verschieben die Einstürzenden Neubauten die Parameter von Mainstream und Subkultur, um das Unhörbare hörbar zu machen. Und vielleicht auch das Unerhörte. Ein sich über vier Dekaden erstreckender Feldforschungsversuch, der nun ins nächste Stadium tritt. In ihrem 44. Bestehensjahr geht die Formation weit zurück zu ihren Wurzeln, um sich gleichzeitig neu zu definieren. Ein verändertes Selbstverständnis, für das das Berliner Quintett plus eins 2024 sein eigenes Genre kreiert hat: apm - alien pop music. Ständige Weiterentwicklung - so könnte man das Schaffen der Einstürzenden Neubauten kurz und knapp zusammenfassen. Eine musikalische Evolution, die beim 1981 veröffentlichten Albumdebüt "Kollaps" beginnt und sich nun auf dem im April 24 erscheinenden Album "Rampen - apm: alien pop music" manifestiert, auf diesem präsentieren sich Blixa Bargeld, N.U. Unruh, Alexander Hacke, Jochen Arbeit, Rudolph Moser und Felix Gebhard nun von ihrer unberechenbarsten und eigenwilligsten Seite. Auf ihrem neuen Album setzen die Neubauten nun allen Sound-Spekulationen ein - wenn auch spätes - Ende. Eine demimondäne Behauptung außerhalb aller physikalischen Gesetze, mit der die Einstürzenden Neubauten ein stilistisches Niemandsland zwischen Vergangenheit und Zukunft betreten. Rückkehr zu den Wurzeln einerseits, andererseits entsteht aus lärmgewaltigen Kracheruptionen, auf kryptische, oftmals fragmentarische Lyrics treffend, eine neue Kunstform: Populäre Musik für Aliens und Außenseiter. Aus Anti-Pop ist Alien Pop geworden. Fremdartig. Kokonhaft versponnen. Ungehört. Sonus inauditus. Nicht ganz unabsichtlich erinnert das reduzierte Coverartwork an das ikonische Layout des "Weißen Albums" von den Beatles. "Ausgehend von der Idee, dass die Einstürzenden Neubauten in einem anderen Sonnensystem ebenso berühmt sind wie die Beatles in unserer Welt", so Blixa Bargeld über die Gratwanderung zwischen Avantgarde und Augenzwinkern, Provokation und popkultureller Diskontinuität. Womit auch direkt das zentrale Thema vorgegeben wäre, das sich wie ein roter Faden durch alle Songs zieht: Veränderung, utopische Gedankenspiele und Vergänglichkeit. "Ich habe auf der Platte ein paar Lösungen gefunden und Dinge formuliert, wie ich sie vorher noch nicht formuliert habe, weil sie mir noch nicht so klar waren. Dieses Album repräsentiert die nächste Stufe der Evolution, auf der man die bekannte Sprache schließlich hinter sich gelassen hat. Und die Eröffnung weiterer, unendlicher Möglichkeiten: alien pop music.

This is the first re-release on 7inch vinyl single of the early Reggae classic “She Caught The Train” by Ray Martell released in 1970 on the Trojan sublabel Joe in the U.K. and later covered by UB 40 in 1983. This original song, a huge hit, has featured on many compilations but has never been repressed as a single, until now…
It was initially released with the track “Tea House From Emperor Roscoe” by Dice The boss on the B side (which we will also release separately on the 22nd of March 2024). On this release, we chose to showcase a super rare Ray Martell song, the gorgeous “Cora” initially released on Attack in 1970.
About Joe Mansano:
“She Caught The Train” was credited to Joe Mansano, real name Joel Mansano who also produced the song. Joel was a Trinidadian who moved to London in 1963. He was a record shop seller, song writer and producer and became heavily involved in the early reggae era producing and writing tracks for several Jamaican artists, enough for Trojan to dedicate a label to him: the “Joe” label aimed at the emerging Skinheads market. He also owned a shop the Joe's Record Centre in Brixton and recorded two handfuls of singles under the name Joe The boss…
About Ray Martell:
“Cora” is credited to Ray Martell himself and was produced by Philligree, an alias for Graham Goodall and Phil Chen. The Philligree duo produced about 20 very interesting singles on a variety of labels with artist such as Desmond Dekker, Millie, Pat Sandy and Ray Martell among others between 1969 and 1970. Although “She Caught The Train” is indeed a famous track, little is known about Ray Martell aka Martel Robinson. Ray was born in St Catherine parish in Jamaica in September 1943. He started to sing at school and church and later on moved to U.K. where he kept on singing in clubs in Coventry and Birmingham … He eventually moved to London where he recorded 4 great tracks in 1970 “She Caught The Train” on Joe, “Cora” and “Loving Lover” on Attack, and “Lover” on Trojan, the last three being written by himself. In 1973 he started his own label “Ray” featuring his own productions but these were unfortunately not as interesting as his previous releases…

Mit seinem neuen Album Y'Y (ausgesprochen "eey-eh, eey-eh") betritt Amaro Freitas ein neues Reich des musikalischen Schaffens. Ein Reich, das in Magie und Möglichkeiten verwurzelt ist und von einem Gefühl der Verantwortung für die Gaben der Erde getragen wird. Seite A ist ein Ausdruck der Verbundenheit mit der Erde und den Ahnen, eine Hommage an den Wald und die Flüsse Nordbrasiliens, sowohl mit der Musik als auch mit dem Albumtitel Y'Y, einem Wort aus dem Sateré-Mawé-Dialekt, einem uralten indigenen Code, der Wasser oder Fluss bedeutet. Und indem er die Lektionen, die er im Amazonasgebiet über die glühende Kraft verzauberter Geister gelernt hat, die in Zeiten des Kampfes im Namen der Gemeinschaft eingreifen, zum Leben erweckt. Auf Seite B zeigt Y'Y die Verbindungen zwischen der globalen schwarzen Avant-Jazz-Gemeinschaft. Die Musik des Multiinstrumentalisten Shabaka Hutchings, der Harfenistin Brandee Younger, des Bassisten Aniel Someillan, des Gitarristen Jeff Parker und des Schlagzeugers Hamid Drake schafft eine kunstvolle Konversation, indem sie Jazztraditionen aus der ganzen Welt miteinander verwebt und gleichzeitig in den einzigartigen Klängen und Ritualen afro-brasilianischer und indigener Kulturen verwurzelt bleibt. 2024 meldet sich die italienische Rockikone und Songwriterin Gianna Nannini mit einem neuen Projekt zurück, das nicht nur ein brandneues Album, sondern auch einen Film sowie eine internationale Tournee umfasst und das nach einem ihrer berühmtesten Hits benannt ist: "Sei nell'anima"! Das Album erscheint am 22. März 2024. Die erste Single "Silenzio" ist bereits erschienen, der Vorbote eines Konzeptalbums, auf dem sich Gianna Nannini zum ersten Mal so persönlich und schonungslos offen präsentiert, wie sie ihre Fans noch nie erlebt haben. Zusätzlich zum neuen Album wird das Biopic "Sei nell'anima" ab dem 2. Mai 2024 auf Netflix zu sehen sein. Erzählt wird Gianna Nanninis Lebensgeschichte in drei Dekaden. Ab November wird Gianna Nannini zudem auf Tour gehen, in der Schweiz wird sie am 25.11.2024 im Hallenstadion Zürich zu sehen sein.

Funkrockfolk mit animierenden Grooves aus Berlin Bis zur Pandemie konnte sich Holler my Dear über jede Menge Resonanz und internationale Bühnenerfolge freuen. Die drei Alben des weit gereisten Berliner Sextetts erhielten auch außerhalb Deutschlands viel Lob. Bei Festivals (u.a. X-Jazz, Reeperbahn, Jazz Open Stuttgart, Jazz & the City Salzburg, Mexico City, Penang, Kairo, Teheran) und in Clubs feierte die Band rauschende Feste. Im Juni 2023 veröffentlichte Holler my Dear die EP Aftermath, deren Songs u.a. mit der (Post)-Coronastimmung abrechnen und die eine elektronischere Soundästhetik ausloten. Nun schlägt Holler my Dear das nächste Kapitel auf. Die Songsammlung An Only Me Is A Lonely You präsentiert einerseits eine Rückbesinnung auf die akustische Grandezza von jazziger Trompete und Akkordeon, neben Winklers extrem variablem Gesang von jeher Markenzeichen der Band. Andererseits wagt das Sextett neuerdings gewitzte Flirts mit rauem Funk, Soul und Rock im Stil der frühen Siebziger oder auch im Geist des unvergessenen Prince. Verglichen mit dem Vorgänger wirkt die neue Produktion etwas heller, teils geradezu uplifting. Dafür sorgen stärkere Grooves von Schlagzeug und E-Bass, prägnante Riffs und eruptive Instrumental-Einsätze sowie mehr Humor in musikalischen und textlichen Details. So unmittelbar wie nie wird die immer wieder hochgelobte Dynamik und Bühnenenergie von Holler my Dear auf Tonträger eingefangen. Die absichtsvoll "schmutzige" Ästhetik sei einerseits aus der Stilistik der Songs erwachsen, sagt Laura Winkler. Andererseits hat Produzent Dennis Rux (Angels Of Libra, Hamburg Spinners, Tetrao Urogallus) einen starken Anteil daran. Der Hamburger ist ausgewiesener Spezialist für hochkarätiges Vintage-Studioequipment, von Mikrophonen über Vorverstärker bis zu Band-Echos und anderen Effektgeräten, die er schon seit Dekaden sammelt. Während der Aufnahmen befand sich die Band größtenteils im selben Raum, was den bekannten Live-Esprit entfachte. Auf nachträgliche Korrekturen oder gar Overdubs wurde weitgehend verzichtet, das verstärkt den direkten Eindruck. Dazu passend erscheint Winklers gravitätische Stimme wendiger denn je. Neben eingängigen und fast hymnischen Melodien setzt sie verstärkt auf rhythmische Phrasierungen bis hin zu Rap-ähnlichen Passagen mit perkussivem Charakter.

Die "Gothics" glaubten an das Do-it-yourself-Punk-Ethos, dass jeder ein Instrument in die Hand nehmen könne. Graue Wolken zogen auf, und in der unwahrscheinlichen Stadt Hamburg gründete eine dreiste und eindringliche Bande von fünf Frauen, Caro May, Rita Simon, Manuela Rickers, Fiona Sangster und Anja Huwe, Xmal Deutschland. Und wie es sich für einen echten Punk gehört, taten sie dies ohne musikalische Vorkenntnisse. Die 7“ Single "Schwarze Welt" wurde 1981 auf dem lokalen Punk-Label ZickZack veröffentlicht und stellte die Band als einen beunruhigenden Schwarm von Intensität vor. Die Dringlichkeit des repetitiven Klagelieds, die wirbelnde Manie, die sich auf der B-Seite mit "Die Wolken" und "Großstadtindianer" fortsetzt, deren krude Synthesizer-Geräusche die Spannung noch steigern. Vor allem der einzigartig giftige deutsche Gesang von Huwe wurde schnell in die ungezügelte und aufkeimende Szene der glamourösen Düsternis eingebettet. Die Unabhängigkeit des Punks vom starren Griff der Tradition erlaubte es der Band, Trost in einer Anti-Establishment-Kunst und -Musik zu finden, weit entfernt von den Konventionen der Vergangenheit. Mit ihrem Pfauenhaar und den dick mit Kajal umrandeten Augen bewahrte sich die Musik von Xmal Deutschland sowohl eine Unruhe als auch eine Zartheit, die mit der Veröffentlichung der Single "Incubus Succubus" im Jahr 1982 die Grenzen der "Neuen Deutschen Welle" (ähnlich wie ihre Kollegen und Freunde DAF und Einstürzende Neubauten) überschritt. Sie wurde sofort zu einem Post-Punk-Klassiker. Die Gitarre wühlt sich durch die Melodie, während die schaurige Primitivität von Huwes Stimme andeutet, dass sie vielleicht, nur vielleicht, die alptraumhafte Kreatur ist, vor der man sich in Acht nehmen muss. Die B-Seiten, "Zu Jung Zu Alt" und "Blut Ist Liebe", halten sich an strenge militaristische Tanzbeats, während sie in Aufregung wimmeln. Im selben Jahr trat die Band in London als Support für die Cocteau Twins auf; das war die Plattform, die sie brauchten, um in die Arme der zerrissenen Netzmassen zu stürzen. „Early Singles 1981-1982“, ist eine Karte der grundlegenden Bewegungen von Xmal Deutschland, nur Sekunden vor dem Abheben. Die Bonustracks auf der Compilation, "Kaelbermarsch" und eine düstere Live-Version von "Allein", unterstreichen die Verschmelzung von Härte mit der quixotischen Dekadenz atmosphärischer Synthesizer. Das Streben der Band nach etwas Größerem ist spürbar, zu einer Zeit, in der nach dem Aufkommen von Punk neue Möglichkeiten des Musikmachens offenstanden.

Die schöne Chrysantheme in ihrer Form mit schlichter, weißer Blütenfarbe wird auch Friedhofsblume genannt. Aufgrund ihrer Langlebigkeit wird sie gerne zur Dekoration von Gräbern verwendet. Für BLACK NAIL CABARET ebnet die Blüte der Chrysantheme den Weg für unser eigenes Porträt am Sterbebett. Der Sensenmann kommt zu uns allen. Die Aussicht auf das Ende verwandelt uns in angsterfüllte Gefäße. Wir könnten diese besser mit so vielen anderen Dingen füllen, aber die Furcht vor dem Tod durchdringt alles. Der Titel des sechsten Albums des ungarischen Pop Noire Duos, "Chrysanthemum", symbolisiert ein Aufbegehren gegen die Angst, aber auch Akzeptanz. BLACK NAIL CABARET bleiben durchaus auch ihrem Hang zur sexuell expliziten Provokation treu, doch die unterbewusste Angst vor dem Tod mit ihrer großen emotionalen Kraft, zieht sich metaphorisch als roter Faden durch "Chrysanthemum". Die Erotik der Ungarn bildet statt billiger Klischees ihre gelebte BDSM-Realität künstlerisch ab, die von hohen ästhetischen Ansprüchen geleitet wird. Musikalisch haben BLACK NAIL CABARET ihr herausragendes Songwriting auf "Chrysanthemum" weiter perfektioniert. Es gelingt dem Duo scheinbar mühelos, dunkle elektronische Klänge mit Elementen des Pop Noire zu vereinigen. Ihre Kompositionen stehen auf eigenen Beinen und benötigen keine elektronischen Spielereien, wodurch sich BLACK NAIL CABARET wohltuend abheben. Spätestens mit ihrem selbst veröffentlichten vierten Langspieler "Pseudopop" (2018) verschmolzen die Ungarn erfolgreich Kunst, Pop, dunkle Harmonien und kraftvolle Elektronik miteinander. Mit dem folgenden fünften Album "Gods Verging on Sanity" (2020) setzten BLACK NAIL CABARET ihren Siegeszug auch international fort. Der exzellente Ruf des Duos verbreitete sich rasch auch durch Mundpropaganda, und das trotz aller Einschränkungen durch die globale Pandemie. Endlich stehen die Sterne günstig, dass BLACK NAIL CABARET die Welt mit diesem dunklen Soundtrack über die Schönheit des Lebens erobern, was diese strahlend weiße Blume von scheinbarer Unschuld letztlich auch symbolisiert, deren Duft aber auch die ewige Macht des Todes verbreitet: "Chrysanthemum".

Navy blue vinyl. For fans of Triumph, Rik Emmett, and Classic Rock! Rik Emmett is best known as the guitarist/vocalist for the legendary Canadian hard rock band Triumph. Between its 16 albums and DVDs, they have received 18 gold and nine platinum awards in Canada and the United States. They were nominated for multiple Juno Awards, including the 'Group of the Year Award' in 1979, 1985, 1986, and 1987. It was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2007, into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2008, and into Canada's Walk of Fame in 2019. Their classic Allied Forces sold over a million copies in the US, while attaining the highest chart positions any Triumph album would attain: No. 23 in the US and No. 13 in Canada. It included the songs "Fight the Good Fight" and "Magic Power". "Magic Power" reached #8 on the Billboard Mainstream Top Rock Tracks chart and #51 on the Hot 100, while "Fight the Good Fight" went to #18 on the Top Rock Tracks chart. "Diamonds" is a brand-new compilation featuring Rik's favorite rock tracks from his Duke Street years. Newly remastered in 2023 at Iguana Studios in Toronto ON with the most up-to-date technology, every track brims with a new crisp presence. The founders of Cukor Bila Smert’ (Ukrainian: Цукор– Біла Смерть, English: Sugar – White Death) band were Svitlana Okhrimenko (a.k.a. Svitlana Nianio), Oleksandr Kohanovs’kyi, and Tamila Mazur, who studied at the Reinhold Glier Kyiv Academy of Music in 1984-1988. In the summer of 1988, they got acquainted with Eugene Taran, a young guitarist and artist. He joined the band and also became the ideologist of Sugar – White Death. Moreover, Eugene coined the name for the band: the irony towards the Yellow Press. The musicians gathered at Kohanovs’kyi’s house, where they spent their free time not only playing music but also listening to and discussing new records and thinking about the conception of their new project.



For two years, the band recorded a few home-made albums, such as “Rhododendrons Coral Aspides” in 1988 (which is considered lost), where Kostyantyn Dovzhenko took part as a guitarist and sound engineer. He also replaced Taran during the recording session because Eugene was passing an exam at that time. The band also recorded another album – “Lilies and Amaralises,” in 1989, which is also considered lost. Eugene remembers that the band made a lot of recordings but did not pay so much attention to them. Sugar – White Death played live occasionally but spent more time creating their own sound, which was named by Oleksii Dekhtyar (a founder of “Ivanov Down”) as a “sugar calypso sound.” At that time, the music was mostly created by Oleksandr Kohanovs’kyi, and the lyrics were written by Svitlana Okhrimenko and Eugene Taran.



In February 1990, a quartet came to the Scientists House Studio in Kyiv, where they had one studio session only, recorded by Valerii Papchenko. Musicians played live for about one take. This session was represented on the “Mannered Music” compilation by several blocks – “Venus with Long Neck,” “The New Sissies,” and “Rhododendrons Coral Aspides,” which was shortened to “Rhododendrons” on the cassette (two songs from which – “Summer Will Not Come” and “The Great Hen-Yuan’ River,” dedicated to Grigorii Khoroshylov, the sinologist from Kyiv). The compilation cover design was created by Eugene Taran. Later, this tape got to Vlodek Nakonechnyj, the founder of Koka Records, a young Polish label, who released “Mannered Music” on cassettes and made efforts to invite Sugar – White Death to play several gigs in Poland.



In November 1990, Sugar – White Death played their last gig as a quartet in Kharkiv. They were invited by Sergii Myasoyedov, who curated the art association “Nova Scena” (The New Scene). The band played selected tracks from the albums “The New Sissies” and “The Shellfishes in Gold Wrappers” (the last one is also considered lost). Due to Sergii Myasoyedov's efforts, the performance was documented: he saved a lot of photos and fragments of soundboard recordings on reel-to-reel tape.



Later, Oleksandr Kohanovs’kyi and Tamila Mazur left Sugar – White Death: Oleksandr founded his own project Pan Kifared, and Tamila became a bass player of Shake Hi-Fi (whose co-founder was Eugene Taran). Sugar became a duo of Svitlana and Eugene. They started to focus on their next work: “Antinoy Is Leaving” in late 1990.



In 1992, they were also invited by Sergii Myasoyedov for a studio session in Kharkiv, where due to the efforts of Oleksandr Vakulenko, Sugar recorded the new album called “All Secrets Of A Poem”. Some tracks from the work (“Dead Ceremony,” “Vienna Is Sleeping,” and “Untitled”) were released on their next and last album, “Selo” (“The Village”). The rest compositions were published as a part of the compilation for the first time.



In the autumn of 1992, the musicians went to Poland, where Vlodek Nakonechnyj, who wanted Sugar to come to a “real” studio, organized their last recording session. Although the journey’s beginning was unsuccessful (Eugene’s guitar was taken away by a customs officer when crossing the border), the musicians worked fast during the session at the Arek Was studio at Marki on an 8-track reel-to-reel machine. Boleslav Blazhchyk took part as a cellist, playing the parts created by Svitlana. The album was completed in three days – the musicians spent two days recording and one-day mixing, mostly done by Eugene Taran. In 1993, this work was released as “Selo” (“The Village”) album on cassette tapes by Koka Records (remastered by Tadeusz Sudnik). Later, Sugar – White Death was disbanded.

For fans of Deep Purple, Whitesnake, and Glenn Hughes! Trapeze was formed in 1969, the band originally featured former The Montanas members John Jones (trumpet, vocals) and Terry Rowley (keyboards), and former Finders Keepers members Glenn Hughes (bass, vocals, piano), Mel Galley (guitar, vocals) and Dave Holland (drums). Jones and Rowley left the band following the release of their self-titled debut album in 1970, with the lineup of Hughes, Galley and Holland continuing as a trio. Originally released in 1970, Medusa was recorded at Morgan Studios, and was produced by The Moody Blues bassist John Lodge. The line-up of Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Mel Galley (Whitesnake), and Dave Holland (Judas Priest) recorded this album and the follow up You Are the Music... We're Just the Band in 1972 before that line-up disbanded when Hughes left in 1973 to join Deep Purple. Medusa has not been released on vinyl since 1979 and now has been fully remastered and comes on amber vinyl with purple, green and black splatter - 180-gram vinyl and a beautiful gatefold sleeve (limited to 250 copies pressed).

The line-up of Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Mel Galley (Whitesnake), and Dave Holland (Judas Priest) recorded this album before disbanding later that year when Hughes left in 1973 to join Deep Purple. You Are the Music... We're Just the Band also featured a wide range of guest performers, including guitarist B. J. Cole, pianist Rod Argent and saxophonist Jimmy Hastings. You Are the Music... We're Just the Band has not been released on vinyl since 1978 and now has been fully remastered and comes on white, red and black twist 180-gram vinyl and beautifully repackaged (limited to 250 copies pressed – gatefold sleeve).

Voiski has been a prominent figure in the electronic scene for over a decade, with a discography that spans across labels such as Dekmantel, L.I.E.S, and Delsin Records. With ‘Hanging in the Stars Part 1’, he delivers a collection of tracks that showcases his mastery of sound design and emotive melodies.

Desmond Dekker recorded some of his best known songs together with his backing group the Aces. Their single “007 (Shanty Town)” made him Jamaican music’s first outernational superstar, reaching the 14th place in the UK charts. The Leslie Kong produced Double Dekker was first issued in 1973 and consists of the best material Desmond recorded during his early years. In 1969 he scored a number one hit with the legendary song “Israelites”. You’ll hear how the Ska music from the mid-60s developed to the Rocksteady sound. This was “Ska” or “Blue Beat”—(or its new name for the slower tempo “Rock Steady”), and the lyrics come from the Calypso-Mento method of telling about current events in music. He was really at his prime from 1969 to 1971, and recorded classics such as “It Mek” (1969) and “You Can Get It If You Really Want” (1970), which you’ll both find on this record. Even before Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff Jamaica already had their own international superstar, Desmond Dekker was his name.
