Denn mit Deimos’ Dawn steht das Szene Urgestein erstmals einer THRASH METAL Band klassischer Prägung voran. Bands wie Kreator, Slayer, Sodom und Sepultura haben offensichtlich tiefe Spuren bei den Bandgründern Andy Doé (Gitarre), Matthias Lange (Bass) und Mathias Schmidt (drums)
hinterlassen.

Die 12 Songs, denen Grewe mit der wohl vielfältigsten Gesangsleistung seiner Karriere die schwarzgoldene Krone eines Gift und Galle speienden Königs der Unterwelt aufsetzt, warten darauf einen frischen Wind der Verwüstung durch eure Gehörgänge zu blasen. Der ehemalige Sodom-Gitarrist und Tausendsassa Andy Brings war derart begeistert von Konzept und Songs, dass er (fast) alle Texte schreiben und Grewes Vocals produzieren musste. Ja, musste!

Johnfaustus returns with two raw, otherworldly musical tales, staying true to the signature style we know and this time, he takes it to an even greater level. Akkaelle channels old-school vibes with a bass-driven, slow-burning groove, and Axis3340 closes the EP by plunging you into uncharted freaky depths with their dark and haunting track "Ashes." This track set you in fire, leaving smoldering embers in its wake.

Sie bezeichnen ihre Musik als"Heavy Dream Prog" bezeichnen: Schwere wuchtige Stoner Riffs bilden den Kontrast zu verträumt-spielerischen Post-Rock-Melodien und immer wieder wird man als Hörer durch Stilwechsel überrascht. Die Songs sind lang und entfalten einen wilden Genre Mix verschiedener Einflüsse: Jazz, Latin, Funk, Metal, Doom, Psychedelic oder Disco. Die Kompositionen sind vielseitig und progressiv ohne dabei in technische Dudelei oder laut-leise Post Rock Klischees zu verfallen. In fünf sehr unterschiedlichen Stücken tobt sich die Band aus und berührt zahlreiche Stile der Musikgeschichte, ohne ihren eigenen melodischen Wiedererkennungswert zu verlieren. Eine genaue Genre-Einordnung fällt schwer. Post- und Stoner Rock Elemente verschmelzen mit Sounds von Funk bis Jazz, über Kraut- und Psychedelic-Rock Parts, bis hin zu knüppelharten Metal-Klatschen. Wie bei Der Neue Planet üblich gibt es eine Menge zu entdecken.

Danish imprint Inherent Futurism returns with its second release in 2024, entitled 'Merger' and made up of a selection of cuts from the Copenhagen Electro Alliance. Inherent Futurism is the new label launched by Morten Kamper, an intrinsic member of the Copenhagen electronic music scene and the man behind the city's 313vinyl_collective record store. He launched the label with a reissue of the Autobot-1000 '3 Dimensions Of Space', a hidden gem from 2001 and the golden era of Electro. Here though, he brings things closer to home and revisits an array of select compositions from the Copenhagen Electro Alliance, compiled together to make up the aptly titled 'Merger'. The package is made up of twelve tracks across two twelve-inch vinyl from artists in the alliance, Nixxon, Brain Enterprise, Deimos Defender and Kruzh'em. As the name of the Copenhagen Electro Alliance collective would suggest, the aesthetic leans heavily towards experimental sounds and draws influence from the soul of Detroit electro, which paved the way for the future of the genre. The twelve-track collection explores all of the classic Electro tropes from punchy and crunch 808s, intricately intertwined synthesizer melodies, murky bass lines and dynamically unfolding, heavily modulated constructions, some leaning towards dance floor friendly while others lay more in the realm of sonic exploration of futuristic music.

Part 1 of a retrospective of sorts, compiled from dozens of unreleased tracks from literally two decades of producing, these gems were collecting dust in the vaults of Ekman. Evocative and eerie electro from the Dutch master. We think we can let the music speak for itself in this case, as it's unique and instantly recognizable.

Ashley Henry is one of a new generation of musicians who've been raised with a wide range of influences, from such luminaries as Kirkland, Moran, Madlib and Dilla, yet also steeped in the traditional sounds of masters such as Hancock and Monk.

At the time of recording, Henry was only 24, playing with such beauty and sensitivity - that usually comes from a lifetime immersed in jazz - that allowed him to tour the UK appearing at Ronnie Scott's, the Jazz Cafe and the Royal Albert Hall. He was the youngest performer on the bill for the 2015 International Piano Trio festival where he performed alongside the likes of Robert Glasper.

After graduating from Leeds College of Music with the Yamaha Jazz Scholarship Award, Ashley continued his studies, attaining a Master's degree in Jazz Piano & Performance from the Royal Academy of Music.

As well as performing with some of the UK's leading Jazz musicians (including Gary Crosby, Jean Toussaint, Shane Forbes, Jay Phelps, and award-winning saxophonist Krzysztof Urbanski) he's also recorded extensively with Manchester-based hip hop collective The Mouse Outfit.

This, his debut album, shows that his trio is clearly influenced by hip hop but has its roots firmly in jazz. This is the next generation planting their feet firmly in twenty first century.
