The sound is harder, rawer, faster and more impetuous. An outro ends the EP, as if to represent a circle closing: The first lap inside A Day in the Life.

Sam Cooke is considered one of the „fathers“ of soul. Already as a child he performs together with his
siblings. His first successes came with the band The Soul Stirrers. His first hit was as a solo artist with You
Send Me. Cook wrote his own songs and founded his own label, which signed musicians such as Bobby
Womack and Johnnie Taylor. He himself celebrates his greatest successes at RCA with world hits such as
Cupid, Bring It On Home To Me and Wonderful World. The last proves to be an evergreen until today;
whether in the jeans advertising of Levi‘s or through successful cover versions of Herman‘s Hermits, Bryan
Ferry or Otis Redding.
At the age of only 33, Sam Cooke dies. The motel manager Bertha Franklin shoots him in the Hacienda
Motel in Los Angeles and later claims self-defense. The exact circumstances of his death remain unclear
to this day. Posthumously, Sam Cooke receives all the major awards. A small excerpt: He is part of the
Rock and Roll and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, he was also awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement
Award. Rolling Stone magazine lists him 16th among the 100 greatest musicians of all time and fourth
among the best singers of all time. What A Wonderful World...

Spencer Davis was born in Wales in 1939. He studied languages and spoke fluent German, French and
Spanish. This was one of the reasons why he was later called „Professor“ in music circles. While studying
in Birmingham, he began performing as a musician and was together with Christine Perfect, who later
became a world star with Fleetwood Mac. Together with Steve and Muff Winwood and Pete York, he
formed his first Spencer Davis Group, with which he had numerous hits in Europe and the United States.
At the end of the 1960s, the four musical geniuses parted ways and each went his own way. Spencer
Davis continued as a solo artist, founded several new bands, including other Spencer Davis Groups with
different lineups, reworked old and new songs and released numerous other records. In the meantime, he
taught at the University of California. He also hosted a talk show and was in the management of Island
Records. He collaborated with Bob Marley, Robert Palmer and Eddie and the Hot Rods, and also
promoted the solo career of former Spencer Davis Group member Steve Winwood. On October 19, 2020,
Spencer Davis died of pneumonia in Los Angeles at the age of 81.

Formed in Barnsley in 1981. Party Day, with their bass led rhythms and sharp powerful drums gigged extensively and released their debut single ‘Row The Boat Ashore’ in 1983.
Their brand of Post-Punk Indie Rock with Gothic overtones soon got the attention of DJ John Peel and sold out almost immediately.
The follow up single ‘Spider’ from 1984 again received extensive airplay from John Peel and received rave reviews from the national music press. “Mouthy pellets of malevolence” NME “Excellent punk junk howl” Sounds.
Their self released debut album ‘Glasshouse’ was released in 1985 to glowing reviews and has gained popularity over the years. Now very collectable, it exchanges hands for big money on the second hand market.
The Glasshouse EP followed later in 85 heralding a more commercial approach and widening appeal.
Their second album ‘Simplicity’ was released in 1986

Family Of Swede hail from Oakland, California and released one single in 1976 on Butter Fields Records called 'Everybody Must Pay' & 'I Got To Move On'. Prior to this they released one single as The Epics on Bridge Town Records called 'We Are Made As One'.

Both 'Living From day To Day' and 'Where Are You' are previously unreleased and were recorded in the 1970s. 'Living From Day To Day' is a glorious uptempo soulful dancer that features dueling lead vocal exchanges with some excellent clav work. On the flip the tempo is dropped with the deep soul ballad 'Where Are You'.

Mr Flash stopped by the office to play me some his beats. He was the French El-P to me, an MPC 3000 genius! I was blow away immediately, his music was talking to me.
I wanted this sound to be the beginning of something I will create with my friends.

Think Curtis Mayfield with Fela’s horns and a percussion backing set to self-destruct; a spine tingling anthem, no less.

Liquid Liquid was an American no wave and dance-punk group that only lasted 3 years, but released many legendary hits like ‘Cavern’ and ‘Optimo’ which have granted the band a cult-like status within music history. Originated in New York in 1980, the quartet consisted of members Sal Principato, Scott Hartley, Dennis Young, and Richard McGuire.
Dennis Young believes ‘Open Roads’ will become one of your favourite albums as it easy to consume in one sitting, whilst being intoxicating enough to draw you back in for continuous listens.

Eutropic are an avant-pop outfit obsessed with analog synths and the concept of time.

DARK AGE DAY DREAM is a concept record that obsesses over the nature of time! It’s our attempt to make sense of reality, so it’s full of contradictions and ambiguities. It's a sonicjourney, which takes the basic idea of synth-pop and then turns it inside-out, side-ways and upside-down. By intuitively connecting dots between synth-based musics – late 70s classic electronica, Cold Wave and New Wave as well as all types of iterations of techno – Eutropic created a singular amalgam of sound: simultaneously dance-floor friendly and the perfect companion to deep introspection.

Green Day’s Insomniac is finally old enough to rent a car (or whatever else you can do when you’re 25, we’re not lawyers), so in order to celebrate the album has been remastered, and we’re throwing in some bonus goodies to boot!

It doesn't happen too often that you come across someone with Sam's composure and artistry at such a young age. 22 year old Sam De Nef has been in music for a while as lead singer of indie outfit 'Danny Blue and the Old Socks', but It wasn't until last year he started thinking of a solo career. Influenced by a generation of songwriters he listens to every day, Sam felt an urge to follow his own path and write genuine songs he could play all by himself and at any time, unadorned and without pretence.

He started recording demo's during the March lockdown, swiftly landed a record deal and started recording his debut with Nicolas Rombouts (Dez Mona, Ottla, Stef Kamil Carlens) and PJ Decraene (Rhinos are People too) - also his live band - in an old house in the French Vosges mountains.

The first tracks he released did not go unnoticed at national radio, press and streaming playlists alike. Sam is a prolific writer and lyricist, he recorded a 7 track debut mini album, expected in February. We are instantly struck by his stunning vocals, his versatility and maturity as a songwriter, embracing the classics but never without transcending their influence.

Sam De Nef's first solo project is a vehicle to tell his own stories and write songs that come to him in the most natural way. His debut mini album is an inspired collection of visceral folk and singer songwriter tunes, drenched in nostalgia. He's inspired by the likes of Dylan, Jack Kerouac, Leonard Cohen and Karen Dalton, but displays a unique voice and decidedly steers clear of platitudes.

"On my first trip to Serbia, visiting my girlfriends family, I discovered a whole new world in music. People played their songs around the diner table. What I saw was a family sharing food, alcohol and stories everyone could relate to. This experience opened up a new window, the wind blowing inspiration. I want to tell stories and touch people with simple songs and colorful language."

There is a directness and intimacy throughout each of the record's 23 minutes, which both sparks universal melancholy and makes Sam De Nef's debut very personal.

Talk about a talented family: Willie Nelson and his Sister Bobbie Nelson each achieved massive success in country music. Even in their late 80’s, the Nelsons continue to make music and their influence can be heard through many artists in the genre. December Day, Willie’s Stash Vol. 1 is a collaboration album between the two, and upon release in
2014 it was met with positive reviews from music critics. The album spawned three singles: “Who’ll Buy My Memories”, “Laws of Nature” and “Summer of Roses / December Day”. The liner notes were written by Willie’s frequent collaborator Mickey Raphael. This record comes as a limited edition on snowy white vinyl.

Beginning in late 1999, Foo Fighters’ "There Is Nothing Left To Lose" Tour ran throughout 2000 and into 2001, during which the group took in four continents. By late January 2000 they were in Australia, where they headlined the Big Day Out Festival in Sydney on 26th of the month. Playing a quite startling set, this deluxe vinyl release features the full broadcast recording of their performance at this now world famous festival.

Icelandic composer ?lafur Arnalds set to release his first Hollywood film score. ?lafur Arnalds' original motion picture soundtrack for Sam Levinson's feature film debut 'Another Happy Day', starring Ellen Barkin and Demi Moore, will see a worldwide release via UK modern classical label Erased Tapes Records on February 27, 2012. In his own words: 'In mid-December 2010 I was on a holiday in China when I received an email from Sam Levinson about the film. We got on the phone at like 4 in the morning Beijing time and ended up talking all through the night, instantly connecting. He told me that they had been listening to my music while making the film, so the film was already very influenced by my music. However, it was not until Ellen Barkin ? the beautiful force that she is ? had pestered the producers for a week, calling them every day about how I am the right one for this film, that they finally gave in. The only catch was that it had to be done two weeks later, in the first week of January. So I ended up scoring nonstop all throughout Christmas, making my mother mad in the process.' ? ?lafur Arnalds Born in the suburban Icelandic town of Mosfellsb?r, a few kilometers outside of Reykjav?k, the 24-year old composer has always enjoyed pushing boundaries with both his studio work and his live-shows. Through relentless touring and determination this young artist has steadily gained recognition worldwide since his 2007 debut Eulogy for Evolution. ?lafur Arnalds' second full-length album ...and they have escaped the weight of darkness, continues his mission to lure an indie-generation of pop and rock fans into an emotive world of beguiling electronic chamber music and delicate classical arrangements. Love All Day is pleased to present Facets, our third collaboration with renowned contemporary electronic composer, Norm Chambers (Panabrite, Jurgen Muller). As the title implies, it's a many-dimensional work, and one born from a time of crisis in Chambers' life. Created in the spring of 2019 while experiencing health issues that were ultimately diagnosed as being a rare form of sinus cancer, Facets reveals Chambers efforts to push himself to places he hadn't gone before ----to try to rid himself of old habits & embrace potentially unsuccessful creative attempts, whatever the result. Faced with a sense of urgency & riding a creative wave, the tracks came together quickly as he explored new creative vistas ---his familiar, bucolic landscapes now occasionally interrupted by craggy rhythms and aural horizons that fluctuate like air on desert sand. Concerned that these works would be his final statement, he quickly released them digitally as he awaited surgery & chemotherapy to treat his illness. After his near brush with death & subsequent recovery, we're extremely grateful to have the opportunity to re-present this singular work by one of our favorite artists with deliberate intention and care as a long playing album.
