Like it’s predecessor, the acclaimed ‘Joia!’, this album is a collection of songs sung in Welsh combined with distinct pop and South American flavours drawn from Bossa Nova, Cumbia, Samba and Tropicalismo styles, recorded in Rio de Janeiro, Caernarfon and London.

Mas feels strangely right for our times: an album whose title means several things, as befits its global outlook. Mas means “out” in Welsh, “more” in Spanish, and “but” in Portuguese: these meanings filling that single syllable with promise, potential, but also the subtle edge of a warning. It’s a mood that fits the more political tenor of Rio 18’s second turn around the world, as Carwyn and his friends explore some substantial subjects: the drowning of villages, climate change, migration and the rise of megacities. They do so not in sober, serious settings, but beautiful, uplifting songs. Other tracks also celebrate the vivid pleasures of love, nature and our essential humanity.

Mas is a record of beautiful songs that says, wait, listen, delight, come together, then act. We owe it to ourselves, to each other, to our beautiful world.

This 3 track EP comes out of the Limited E's vault called Retro Vol 2 produced by Potential Badboy. Each of these tracks represents when we started to push the boundaries of Jungle and being more experimental back in 1992.

With 3 releases under their belt Council Work return with the 4th installment on the label, the 'Crouching Tiger EP'. Sticking with the formula of the last EP, there are 2 originals from the label owners themselves Frankel & Harper, coming in the form of stripped back UKG number 'Crouching Tiger' as the A1, and then bringing heavyweight moodiness on the A2 with 'Conquering Lion'. First up on remix duties on the B1 is Italian producer, DJ and Music On regular LEON with a dubby, rolling take on the title track. Hotly tipped UKG producer ZeroFG steps up to remix the B2 and brings some serious dub reggae vibes mixed with some rude garage flavours to round off the EP and give a great contrast to the original.

Council Work returns with the next installment of their journey, this time with the Militant EP. Two original tracks from the label bosses Frankel & Harper, and keeping in theme with the previous releases, obtaining remixes from their favourite artists in the scene, they've enlisted 2 big remixers, this time from Salty Nuts boss and Cocoon regular Fabe, and Orbital London head honcho and rising UK star Jack Michael. The EP sticks to the signature Council Work sound, showcasing underground UK flavours with lots of garage and jungle influences, whilst showcasing more minimal and breaks textures and vibes

It’s more than a year since his last EP on the label but it feels like right on time to deliver his most powerful tracks up to date. He hasn’t been quiet all this time, with remixes and appearances on labels like Obscuur Records, Konflkt or Enotaktik, 2019 was a prolific year for the spanish producer.

Four dancefloor oriented cuts including a massive remix of the rising Irish artist and labelfriend Tommy Holohan. Ladies and gentlemen, this is what we call techno. From the driving bass of “Spontaneously” to the rave anthem “Die Suppe”, these tracks won’t let your feet stick to the floor.

Kali Malone presents a quietly subversive new album featuring almost two hours of concentrated, creeping organ pieces governed by a strict acoustic and compositional code. It’s a major new work with ultimately profound emotional resonance.
‘The Sacrificial Code’ takes a more detailed approach to ideas first sketched out on last year’s ‘Organ Dirges’, which featured canon exercises spontaneously captured without much prior technical planning. By contrast, the recording of ‘The Sacrificial Code’ involved the more careful micing up of several organs in such a way as to eliminate acoustic impurities as far as possible - essentially removing the large hall reverb so inextricably linked to the instrument. The pieces were then performed free of gestural adornments and without expressive impulse - an approach that
flows against the grain of the prevailing musical hegemony, where sound is so often manipulated,
and composition often steeped in self indulgence. The question posed; can this strict methodology still speak to the listener in meaningful terms?
The answer is both obvious and entirely surprising; with its slow, purified and seemingly austere qualities ‘The Sacrificial Code’ guides us through an almost trance-inducing process where we
become vulnerable receptors for every slight movement, where every miniature shift in sound becomes magnified through stillness.
As such, it’s a uniquely satisfying exercise in transcendence through self restraint - a stunning realisation of ideas borne out of academic and conceptual rigour which gradually reveals startling
personal dimensions. It has a perception-altering quality that encourages self exploration free of signposts and without a preordained endpoint - the antithesis to the language of colourless musical platitudes weíve become so accustomed to.

Counterweight started at the end of 2015 as a party-series in Munich (Rote Sonne). It was about pushing the style of techno we stand for and which we couldn’t find easily in our city. During this journey we’ve learnt a lot about what somehow sadly has to be called a business and we met many artists and people involved in the Techno Scene. We even made friends throughout the years and that’s one of the nicest things after all.

The first V.A. release on Counterweight is an installment with some excellent artists we met during this time, we love their music as much as we love them as a person. Four years ago we couldn’t even imagine we would release a record with some of our favourites artists … Now, check this out. Heavy Kick-Drums, destructive basslines, distorted hi-hats, mesmerising melodies and…lots of passion.

Our Danish secret weapon ANTN is back on Counterweight with his new monstrous release. Four original tracks with his very own and distinctive vision of techno.

Fast, straight, raw and pretty industrial, but without loosing the groove, that's our boy. If this wasn't clear for you yet, now you know why you should keep an eye on this excellent producer.

Counterweight’s first release of 2019 comes by the hands of the Italian duo RVDE and includes a remix by the Spanish gringo Gonzo MDF.

Once again, the RVDE guys show what they can do best, Techno for the dancefloor full of energy with no mercy. The A-side with “Roll & Lick” and “Carousel Rampage” is highly influenced by 90’s rave sound and will bring your mind right onto the dancefloor of your favorite club or warehouse. On the B-Side, “XXX” maintains the rave flavour but this time the approach is deeper and more hypnotic. Finally XXX gets a re-built by Gonzo MDF who adds his characteristic aggressive & fast paced sound.

So, yes, you will hear it at any good warehouse party this year… and don’t forget to call them Rude.

Gonzo MDF is back on Counterweight with his 3rd Release and he does what he is known for and of course he does it pretty well and reckless. Tested on the crowd of their monthly Counterweight events you can be sure that this EP is a real dancefloor weapon. On the A side Fast Fast a hammering and driving track shows what this artist stands for. The Train is Leaving brings in some break beat drums that will drive any crowd pretty mad.

Cerdos on the B side with some really heavy synth lines does it's job incredibly well while Out of the Box is an ideal track to breathe some fresh air into the middle of any set.

'Heritable Traits' is the first EP from Distant Echoes on his long-time friend Buck's Substrato records.

'Rail to rail' opens the release with a straight-forward techno groove which develop constantly reaching the climax thanks to an uncompromising mix of electrified modular sounds and deep textures. 'Barking dogs', the second track of the A-side, is marked out by a rolling kick pattern framed with an ever-changing yet hypnotic bass bringing you on a mysterious trip until the end.

On the B-side 'Lighthouse in the fog' brings us back to label's most intimate club attitude, where the 3/4 kick and the FM bass interact endlessly helped by moving textures and minimal hats, typical of Distant Echoes' productions. The B2 'Swirling thoughts' is a gently-hectic broken beat track, suitable for any use where the dreamy soundscapes contrast with the aggressive Cwejman grooves and kick. 'A walk in the field' closes the release with a down tempo sexy groove conceived for the most different sets, the catharsis is completed by the constant movement of LFOs embracing each others progressively until the end of the track.

Counterweight welcomes to the label the rising Berlin artist Opål with this excellent 4-Track full of Techno EP.

The title track, Luminescence, is a rough and hard hitting 4/4 warehouse destroyer. 'Impala' reduces the tension and shows a more melodic side of the artist but still keeping his characteristic industrial touch. On the B side Opål shows what is the definition of 'driving' Techno with 'Eclipse', this is simply amazing. The last track is an absolutely outstanding remix by the Italian artist PVS, who explores new atmospheric shapes and goes beyond simple 4/4 structures.

Munich's Counterweight is back with some serious stuff from the hands of Gonzo MDF.
The second vinyl release of the Label cuts it straight to the point: this is Techno for the dancefloor without compromise.
The madness starts with 'Don't trust those who talk so much' with its acid touch and rough atmosphere. In A2 Endlec translated the track into his own language: Beast-Techno.
In 'Destroy' Gonzo MDF finds the perfect balance between melancholy and aggressive percussion and 'We didn't give up' is the perfect way to round up the release.
So... we let them talk and we keep on working ...

For the past four years Francesco Leali kept busy running Parachute alongside co-owners Manfredi Romano and Thomas Feriero, producing under different monikers and touring the globe as half of CW/A. Finally back as Clockwork, Leali reveals a five track EP featuring some of his rugged music to date. A briery shift into foggier territories where Leali explores layered sound-design and broken rhythms, something he had only hinted in his previous work.
'Online Entity' depicts Leali's hindrance with modern society's social networking obsession. 'In contrast to what these services were actually intended for', Leali explains, 'They seem to have impacted a lot of people negatively, resulting in unnecessary resentments, misinformation and feelings of proximity when these tools can easily alienate you from reality'.
'Constantly worrying about how you want people to perceive you is absurd already, but for many of us this constant sharing has become the only way to achieve happiness, to be satisfied. In an era where all of this is getting out of hand it's essential to remind yourself of the things that truly shape you as an individual. With
Online Entity I aimed for feelings of release, mutating resentments into something positive - more physical. I imagined it as a soundtrack to an escape from these very situations.'
The release showcases this approach with five club-ready numbers filled with calculated, pounding drums and gloomy atmospheres, with only rare glimpses of hope scattered throughout.
To round things up we mobilised fellow Parachute affiliate Ayarcana and Serbian Techno pro Lag who both deliver two startling interpretations of 'Escape Sequence' and 'Rumination'.

After a 3 year hiatus from his Avatism moniker, Thomas Feriero, one half of CW/A and owner of Parachute records, returns with an EP for his home label Vakant. A rough yet refined release, unassuming in its effort, Thomas channels both his previous solo work and his CW/A project into a tightly wound package with 4 solid cuts. Various influences converge yet a straight line is etched for all to follow. These are up-front, hard working tracks. Body Music with an undercurrent of breakbeat. His first EP on Vakant since his album. File under need / want.

End Of Dayz presents its tenth release with All Stars Vol 1., some old friends and a new face on the label. Ness, who made a remix on the 002 brings us his original track "Semblance". NX1, who remixed the first reference and did the 003, brings us a mysterious "EOD4". On the B side we have Nehuen, who has already published as CWS (with Cardopusher) the reference 006. This time brings us his track "Fight Or Flight Response". Finally, we welcome to End Of Dayz the German Sebastian Habben and his track "BDT"

Counterweight is well known for their party series in Munich defined by their strong bookings. Now the guys decided to go a step further and start with their own Vinyl label. Vincenzo Maurices debut EP is a four-tracker, covering the range of hard hitting & distorted analog techno including a sturdy acid tinge while on the B2 we have Die Roh who delivers a perfect remix to bring the record back to it's shaky shaky house vibe.

This is the record of the year for us. GoldFfinch are mindblowing on this one, it's their very first move in this direction and the reusult is just brilliant. This is DJ material that cannot be overlooked, all three gorgeous tracks out on vinyl in September as part of our Clubwerks series.

Within the infinite flow of quality emotional techno, GoldFinch have geared up to follow the fine sonic trail lead by the likes of Life and Death, Innervisions, Ten Walls and many others bringing together the massive appeal that only impeccably crafted techno can draw.
