Auf Lambchops siebzehntem Album 'Punching the Clown' kehrt Kurt Wagner zu den Ursprüngen zurück. Angeregt durch eine nächtliche Radiobegegnung mit einer unbekannten Gospel-Aufnahme tauchte Wagner tief in die Welt des „Lined-Out-Singing“ ein – einer jahrhundertealten schottisch-appalachischen Call-and-Response-Tradition, bei der ein einzelner Vorsänger einen Chor Wort für Wort und ohne Schnörkel durch Hymnen führt. Dieser Geist roher, gemeinschaftlicher Stimmen prägt jeden Moment von „Punching the Clown“: Wagner verbrachte Jahre damit, große Songwriter zu studieren und sein Handwerk von Grund auf neu zu erlernen, wobei er Dutzende von Songs auf zwölf reduzierte. Aufgenommen in drei Tagen mit dem Gitarristen Andrew Broder, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) am Banjo und einem sechstimmigen Chor, zusammengestellt von Blake Morgan und unter der Toningenieurschaft von Lambchop-Veteran Mark Nevers, ist das Album anmutig, ironisch und auf stille Weise erschütternd. The new chapter of PHONOGENE RECORDS comes courtesy of the Italian duo NU SOUL CITY, who deliver an EP that encapsulates the essence of the label: depth, precision, and a groove as subtle as it is powerful. With a sonic language that navigates between minimal, microhouse, and an innate European sensibility, the duo delivers an elegant, functional, and characterful work.

This release is further elevated by two exceptional remixes from Christopher Ledger, one of the most respected producers in the contemporary scene. Ledger brings his unmistakable touch: surgical rhythms, detailed sound design and a progressive construction that turns each reinterpretation into a masterpiece. It is a declaration of principles: a precise, refined and deeply dancefloor-oriented sound, where every element serves a purpose and every texture propels forward with textures of Dub House, Minimal House and Breakbeat.

From the heart of Tamanrasset in South Algeria, Imarhan transcend Tuareg tradition, weaving hypnotic synths into desert blues. The result is a timeless work—deeply respectful of their roots, yet alive with a stirring sense of modernity.

ESSAM is the band’s fourth album, recorded with the same core lineup, but marks a significant shift in their sound and approach. Musically, it marks a departure from the rocky, bluesy, psychedelic Tuareg guitar-driven sound influenced by Tinariwen’s heritage — moving toward something more open, modern, and exploratory.
For the first time, their long-time sound engineer Maxime Kosinetz stepped in as producer. He travelled to Tamanrasset with Emile Papandreou (of the French duo UTO), a multi-instrumentalist who introduced electronic elements by sampling live instruments and reprocessing them in real time with a modular synthesizer — subtly reshaping the band's sonic identity.
The album was recorded mostly live, in one big room at Aboogi Studio — the band’s own rehearsal and recording space in Tamanrasset. The studio, a converted concert hall, has become a kind of cultural hub for the local youth. Friends dropped by during the sessions to contribute handclaps, vocals, and just be part of the energy. It’s a space where people gather, hang out, play dominoes, smoke chicha — a rare communal spot in a city that doesn’t offer many for young people, somewhat like a youth and community center.
This context — the creative shift, the live recording process, the atmosphere around Aboogi — might be interesting threads to explore in the conversation.

Straight from the heart of the 1991 UK rave scene — CUT001, later known as Rabbit City 001, captures the raw underground energy of the era. Originally a short-run white label promo, the record became an instant cult classic.

Produced by Blow alongside Colin Faver (Kiss FM legend RIP), the release was born out of London’s early rave network — record shops packed with weekend ravers, distributors playing new cuts down the phone, and pirate radio pushing the boundaries.

From out of the dark, sparks of feedback birdsong signal a return to the singular sonic environments of Rafael Toral"s sound-world. A year after Spectral Evolution, his acclaimed album of electric guitar conceptions, comes the companion work Traveling Light. Sharpening his focus around a set of jazz standards, his move from abstract form to solid song elicits glints from beyond time and space, crafting a unique listening lens for deep listeners. In the early years of his practice, Toral used the guitar as a generator to create discreet texture and droning tones. Later, he abandoned the guitar entirely, focusing on self-made electronics to render his music with a post-free jazz perspective. For the music of Spectral Evolution and Traveling Light, Toral has combined his methodologies: radically expanding the space within their harmonies with his self-made machines, while engaging directly with his instrument and the chords of the material. In addition to Toral"s proxy orchestra of guitars, sine wave, feedback and bass guitar, Traveling Light features the sounds of clarinetist José Bruno Parrinha, tenor saxophonist Rodrigo Amado, flügelhorn player Yaw Tembe, flautist Clara Saleiro, who each guest on one song. In every contour of Traveling Light"s path - arrangement, improvisation and production - the spring of the old pours through the new in an unstoppable flow. The result is a listening experience of these standards that remains "in the tradition", even as the elongated harmonies seem to alter time such that, as Toral notes, "the chords become events on their own."

Stiletti City Tape Archives is the fourth Stiletti-Ana album, showing off the Finnish mastermind’s talent for making electronic music that’s immediately inviting while generously rewarding the focused listener.
Following on stand-out work for labels like Public Posession and Höga Nord – not to mention all sorts of odd jobs within the Sex Tags multiverse – Stiletti-Ana presents his latest offering: eight irresistible jams cooked up in the hallowed halls of Helsinki’s Haista II studio.
Here, vintage and modern synths joined forces with live drums and the occasional robot-voiced interjection, resulting in a body of work that’s dazzlingly off-kilter, rich in detail and instantly addictive. The artist himself states: “I think the music has a sense of urgency which relates to city life. Still,
Stiletti City is a small and cozy place, a bit freaky and not gentrified.” Stockholm label Studio Barnhus is delighted to invite fellow travellers into this secret town – welcoming and full of surprises.

What once slipped out under a veil of anonymity now steps into the light: the original mystery record was, in fact, Tuff City Kids. The duo’s playful fingerprints are all over it— equal parts homage and mischief.
Fast forward to today, and the circle closes with an EP that reimagines the spirit of that covert release, pushing it into sharper, modern focus. Where the first outing thrived on secrecy, this one thrives on revelation—same DNA, but recut for the present tense.

Sonum presents Paradise City Breakers – Midsommar Energy

Sonum’s debut release lands with Midsommar Energy, a 4-track solo EP from the Italian Boyz, born in the Puglian sun. Setting the foundation for the label, the record flows through bass-heavy grooves, glowing synths, and moods that shift seamlessly from peak-time energy to morning light.

The title track sparks the night with boogie basslines and playful textures, while "Too Bad… Because He Believes in You" dives into raw electro spirit with vocoder twists and a tight groove.
On the flip, "Hypnotic Mango" carries the crowd into sunrise, lush and immersive, before "They Don’t Know" closes with 80s-inspired pads and pure dancefloor fire.

A strong first step for Sonum, Midsommar Energy embodies the label’s vision: sound as connection, freedom, and celebration.

After releasing on some of your favorite labels, Paradise City Breakers start their own imprint with a very personal, no-compromise attitude.
The label exists to release timeless work, uninfluenced by the market or by what the audience thinks it wants.

The A-side is strongly influenced by early European club music, with a harder and more ravey attitude that culminates in Destroy the Power, while Dissociazione Jonica takes you on a stripped-down progression.
On the B-side, the sound becomes more modern, while still drawing from vintage influences. If What U Want is tight and enriched by clear melodies, Your Soul opens up a more oneiric dimension.

Ambarchi, Berthling and Werliin are back, a little looser and wilder than before. Their ability to lock in and focus on the smallest of details is enhanced here by a sense of increased immediacy. Eclectic and genre-fluid, Whoosh is a masterful showcase of the expansive musical sensibilities of Vik Srinivasan—known as Vikmatic—and the finely tuned ear of co-producer and TSoNYC label head Danilo Braca. Drawing from a rich tapestry of sonic influences, the EP unfolds with effortless depth and elegance. Its title track opens with wistful spaciousness, unhurried in its approach, as layers of ambient texture float into view. Around the three-minute mark, a freeform trumpet—played by multi- instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter COULOU—enters like a gentle breeze, pairing seamlessly with a humblingly gorgeous vocal from indie pop artist Rén with the Mane. Her voice, set cool and weightless amid the atmospheric array, anchors the track in emotional resonance

In contrast, “Dream” quickens the pulse. It opens with a crisp hand drum before giving way to a forceful Italo rhythm and driving synths. The return of the meandering trumpet offers a warm counterbalance—a humanizing thread weaving through the escalating sonic tension. 


“Jungle” follows with a playful sense of experimentation, placing the trumpet at center stage. It’s accompanied by a whimsically off-kilter selection of textures: crisp, deliberate percussion; a brooding electric guitar line courtesy of the ever-versatile Alvise Marino (aka Al-Veez); lush retro synth glides; and

The EP closes with “We Should Go,” where Rén with the Mane returns in more earthly form. Her vocals drift in and out between acid burbles and Italo arpeggiations, both intoxicating and charged with quiet urgency. It’s a fitting finale—elevated yet grounded, dreamy yet directive. 


Across four free-flowing yet meticulously crafted tracks, Whoosh captures the essence of collaboration and creative freedom. It’s a transportive listen that resists genre boundaries, inviting the listener to drift, dance, and discover within its lush and unpredictable terrain.

After two albums inspired by vast northern landscapes, the forces of nature, and an ever-present sense of duality, Glass Museum shifts gears. The Brussels-based group-originally formed in 2016 by pianist Antoine Flipo and drummer Martin Grégoire-welcomes bassist Issam Labbene as an official third member, opening up a richer, more immersive sound and setting its sights on the rhythms of the modern city.

A true turning point in Glass Museum's career, the new album 4N4LOG CITY twists the codes of electronic music, explores the depths of jazz, and asserts its eclecticism through a fresh and infectious groove.

Signed to the forward-thinking Belgian label Sdban Records, the group shapes its identity within the vaulted ceilings of Volta, a creative hub in Brussels frequented by the vanguard of Belgium's "new scene." Sharing space with acts like ECHT!, Lander & Adriaan, and Tukan, the band continues to push its boundaries through collaboration and reinvention.

Recorded between the French countryside of Drôme, the industrial edges of Brussels, and Volta, 4N4LOG CITY features striking guest appearances. Swiss drummer Arthur Hnatek-known for his work with Tigran Hamasyan and Erik Truffaz, and praised by Gilles Peterson and Laurent Garnier-drives the opener "GATE 1" into hypnotic, krautrock-inspired territory. Meanwhile, rising vocalist JDS lends soulful grace to "Call Me Names", evoking the emotive textures and elegance of vintage soul-jazz reminiscent of the likes of Jordan Rakei or Tom Misch & Yussef Dayes.

Without abandoning their melodic roots and foundational approach, the trio takes daring steps into new terrain. The experimental centerpiece "III" explores the piano as a textural and rhythmic force, drifting between ambient and breakbeat. Elsewhere, the gritty "VAN GLAS"-a hip-hop-tinged track featuring rapper JAZZ BRAK of STIKSTOF-the band ventures far beyond their comfort zone, injecting streetwise lyricism in their mix of electronics and jazz.

Fueled by the heartbeat of the city, 4N4LOG CITY captures the mechanical ebb and flow beneath concrete towers-the anonymous rhythms of daily life moving over the asphalt, and the fleeting, meaningful connections made along the way. Produced by Antoine Flipo and mixed by Elsa Grelot (Avalanche Kaito), the album stands at the intersection of human emotion and urban architecture-a post-modern, deeply cinematic work that asserts Glass Museum's place at the cutting edge of European music.

HUB CITY DISCO CLUB pairs up EBERHARD & MI FAVO for a limited run that showcases each artist's take on old classics. On Side A EBERHARD reworks GOODY GOODY's "IT LOOKS LIKE LOVE" now titled "LOVE AT THE DISCO". On the flip MI FAVO reassembles KWICK's "NIGHT LIFE" now titled "THE RIGHT TIME".

In 1995 Celvin Rotane’s “I Believe” carved its place in house history. Powered by the unmistakable “Huh!” sample a soaring high string breakdown, and a phat kick that slams into a massive crash, it became a global club anthem, lighting up dance floors from festivals to beach bars. An evergreen classic, it still moves crowds today.

Now, 30 years later, it returns as a fully remastered and refurbished package on limited vinyl. The release features the original Dub Mix plus remixes from DJ Misjah and Rozzo from Switzerland, now rather known as Lake People. And there is more on the way, with remixes coming from Johannes Albert, Cinthie and many more. Huh, we believe again.

Ten City is universally known as one of the foundational House Music artists who helped to preach the gospel of House from Chicago out to the world during the genre’s formative years in the late 80’s. Remarkably Ten City is still recording and performing, with the voice and face of Ten City Byron Stingily delivering classic songs like “That’s The Way Love Is,” “Devotion” and “Right Back To You” to adoring fans from multiple generations around the world.

Throughout his career, Byron has always had a keen sense of where House Music is going both on a musical and cultural level, and the role Ten City could play to stay at the forefront. He saw that now in the year 2025 the time was right to collaborate with a new generation producer who could “walk the walk” in terms of knowing how to utilize to the fullest the multiple emerging production techniques making House Music dancefloors jump. At the same time, whomever he worked with to create a new Ten City album had to be so well versed and respectful of the group’s legacy that they would not stray too far from what the original songs and albums were all about.

He found his man in another Chicago native DJ Emmaculate, who is well known among house music fans as one of the most talented writer / producer / DJs in the genre.

For the new album on Nervous Records, appropriately entitled “The Next Generation,” Byron and Emmaculate have expanded the Ten City sound both musically and in terms of vocal contributors. While “Voice Of House Music” Byron Stingily still delivers slam-dunk hits with his inimitable style, the album also includes supreme vocal contributions from Mon’Aerie, Uneq’ka, DRAMA D. Lylez, and a rap delivery from OVEOUS.

This Double Pack vinyl consisting of 8 songs with a custom jacket is a priceless and must-have addition to anyone and everyone who is a fan of the house music genre.

TCHDWN — former DMC Vice World Champion and Barcelona-based artist — makes his vinyl debut on Track Deluxe with BCN City Of Mind Spring Collection, a sonic tribute to the city that shaped his journey.

The EP includes five original tracks, an intro, interlude, outro, and a unique scratch bank sourced from the project itself. A locked groove nods to TCHDWN’s turntablism roots, making this a treat for vinyl heads.

“Every beat is infused with the energy and inspiration I’ve found here,” says the artist. The result is a fresh, timeless soundtrack that captures the essence of a Barcelona spring.

Mr TiDy is a DJ and producer straight out of Sydenham in South London who has until now been something of a secret, but this debut 7" is such a good edit that he's likely to break out into wider consciousness. 'Share The Love Devine' is a masterful tweak of an easy listening classic that takes flight on mellifluous synth ripples and gentle breaking waves with a carefree vocal shimmering about the mix, and it's all taken from one of rare groove's most admired writers and producers. 'Style City' is another horizontal flex with underlapping rhythms and pulse-slowing drums.

Radio City EP marks the vinyl debut on DOTS. Music, showcasing three distinctive cuts from Dutch producer Pascal Benjamin, along with a standout remix by Argentinian artist Alexis Cabrera. Built around tight grooves, warm analog textures, and playful percussive details, the EP captures a rhythmic, dynamic, and dancefloor-ready energy.

Opening the A-side, Radio City blends sexy chord stabs with Rhodes keys and tiny vocal fragments that lock effortlessly into the groove. Cabrera’s remix flips the original into funkier territory, adding a gliding bassline, electric guitar riffs, and an irresistibly rolling swing that complements the original’s flow while offering a fresh twist.

On the flip, Rewind explores a more underground dimension with sharp drum programming, subtle acid touches, and chopped vocals. A groovy, short-note bassline drives the rhythm forward, while deep chords make the track equally effective in afterhours sessions or peak-time club sets.

Flat Sprite closes the EP with a forward-driving acid hook riding over rolling snares and synths — a functional groove weapon with hypnotic momentum.

With Radio City, Pascal Benjamin delivers a tightly curated selection that merges minimalistic sound design with groove-driven charm — a confident debut that balances functionality with character on the dancefloor.

Bogotá duo Rush City — aka Jonahlo and Joint4Nine, and heads of the Ritmo Terco label dig deep into their crates for this second vinyl outing, delivering four razor-sharp reworks that balance nostalgia with dancefloor punch. Spanning boogie, Italo disco, electro, and deep house, each track is reimagined with a tasteful blend of analog grit, acid textures, and precise drum programming.

Opener “When Your Ex Wants You Back” breathes new life into Surface’s 1984 boogie anthem, fusing its soulful acapella with 808 rhythms, acid basslines, and shimmering synths for a raw electro-funk twist. Following “Brown Sugar”, lifted from a rare 80s adult film soundtrack, becomes a dubbed-out, indie-leaning acid disco tool — weird, seductive, and undeniably effective.

On the B-side, Dream 2 Science’s deep house classic “My Love Turns To Liquid” is transformed into a hypnotic acid roller, stripping things back while keeping the soul intact. Closer “Don Quichotte” rebuilds Magazine 60’s Italo gem from the ground up — with re-recorded vocals and fresh synth work, it’s a full-throttle electro bomb.

A versatile and expertly crafted four-tracker, this is crate-digger gold with serious club utility.

After the first, extremely successful "Motor City Days Vol.1" release from 2002/04 with all those then-and-now enduring tracks by Jeff Mills, Tronic Pulse, Drivetrain and St. Andy, the "Motor City Days Vol.2" follow-up comes along now as another ambitious showcase of the continous work of that other electronic music axis Detroit-Cologne in full effect!

The extra limited MLP-Vinyl offers 6 more, typical Planet Detroit tracks on the cutting edge of Techno, House, and Electro by Teknobrat (Bunkerbliss, Ottawa), Claus Bachor (remixed by the D's own Lockstep, Soire Rec. Drawn from years of early-hour sets and the quiet intimacy of the booth before the room fills, Gimme The Sun marks the debut EP of Al-Veez (real name Alvise Marino). A seasoned guitarist raised in Italy with musical roots in funk, boogie, and blues, Marino’s release is a sonic travelogue of his formative years as a selector in a city, NYC, that quietly became home. The prominent guitar captures both the ache of departure and the bright, restless hope of return.


With a wistful blend of beachy, meandering textures, lush synth layers, and a hypnotic pulse, the EP lands in time for another steamy summer in the city—sure to strike a chord with longtime NYC house heads, whether they be behind the booth or lost in the crowd. Arranged in close collaboration with TSoNYC label boss Danilo Braca (also on mixing and mastering duties), theshimmering title track reads like a Dear John letter to New York. Tender, honest, and full of gratitude, it’s the kind of farewell only a true love could inspire—one that dances forward even as it looks back.

As the record warms up, “F Train Boogie” evokes snapshots of bright midsummer mornings gazing out a scratch-blurred train car window at the glistening city, while the track that follows, “Sneaky”, sizzles with cosmic allure—an intoxicating blend of luminous synths, tightly interlaced rhythms, and a commanding kick drum that locks the listener into an entrancing groove from the very first bar. “Underwater”, the fourth and final track, shares some of the same allure and mystery, but features a playful optimism, encouraging the listener to lean into curiosity of what the next chapter, night, or DJ set will hold.

2024"s retrospective box We Have Dozens of Titles brought the revelatory 1993-"98 output of Gastr del Sol back into the world of physical objects, following a decade in which most of their music was mostly available online. The ruckus that the box generated in the so-called real world was intense enough to warrant some more fun excursions; thus, we begin our vinyl reissue series of the Gastrlog at the end of the line, with their "art-pop masterpiece" somebody"s words, not ours - but we"ll take "em): Camoufleur. Gastr del Sol released Camoufleur in February of 1998. It was a ringing down of the curtain on an extraordinary five years of music making (and unmaking) with one of the best albums of that era - or any other. Once out in the world, Camoufleur went over like gangbusters. Listening in today, it still does - time has only burnished its unique superpowers. Upon release, of course, and with the same sense of enigma in which they"d issued their music, Gastr del Sol abruptly vanished, leaving all that stuff to time. And by golly, in time we"ve found it again, and huzzah almighty, have recommitted it to ol" reliable, the singular magic of the vinyl platter, for the enjoyment and edification of a new nation.

to rococo rot?s the amateur view (1999) will be reissued as a highly limited expanded edition, featuring 12 bonus tracks on an additional disc, a new gatefold sleeve with previously unseen photos, and liner notes by Jon Dale. The Amateur View is widely hailed as one of the definitive records of late '90s analog electronica. Released in the U.S. via Mute Records, it was named one of UNCUT's Albums of the Year in 1999 and perfectly captured the introspective, experimental mood of the era. The album's influence was far-reaching-so much so that Saint Etienne enlisted To Rococo Rot for their 2000 album Sound of Water. At the time, To Rococo Rot were the band of the moment-jetting across the globe to play the most cutting-edge electronica festivals, including wild WARP events where none other than Aphex Twin spun support DJ sets, The trio was invited three times by John Peel to record radio sessions in the BBC studios between 1997 and 1999. Bands like Modeselektor still cite them as key influences and pioneers. The first official reissue of Dorothy Carter"s folk-music exegesis comes 46 years after its original release, 20 years after Dorothy passed, and 11 years before the centennial of her birth. Yet it seems right on time for a new celebration of her music. Appalachian folk tunes, old and ancient psalms and hymns, Scottish, Irish, French and Israeli melodies, and original tunes flow together effortlessly in hypnotic gardens of eternal world musics. A highly energized, alternately meditative and proselytic recital whose vitality has only burgeoned in the decades since it appeared. As it should be: the music of Dorothy Carter is akin to a portal, linking her and us with the eternal. This edition of Troubadour reproduces the original album package, adding an insert adorned with additional photos of Dorothy and her collection of instruments, as well as notes from Eric Demby exploring the era - his childhood - from a vantage point of some 50 years. This reissue is a long-held family dream come true, and it is dedicated in loving memory to Bob Rutman, Constance Demby, David Demby and Dorothy Carter.
