Lily Was Here is the soundtrack album to the 1989 Dutch drama film of the same name (original Dutch title: De Kassière, The Cashier), released in 1989 and produced and largely written by British musician David A. Stewart, known as one half of the pop duo Eurythmics.

The most notable element of the soundtrack is its title track, an instrumental duet pairing Stewart’s guitar work with saxophone performances by Candy Dulfer. The track was released as a single and achieved chart success in multiple countries, including reaching #1 in the Netherlands for five weeks, number six on the UK Singles Chart and number eleven on the US Billboard Hot 100.

With Non Sonett, the Christian Wallumrød Ensemble opens a new chapter that grows directly out of recent years of work in more solitary and cross-disciplinary contexts. In this period, Wallumrød has developed material for solo performance as well as for dance, allowing ideas to take shape in more fluid and exploratory formats. Some of this material now finds its way into the ensemble, where it is met by the possibilities offered by instrumentation, collective playing, and the distinct voices of the musicians. At the same time, older pieces—originating in entirely different settings— re-emerge here in new forms, reshaped by the ensemble context.

A defining aspect of Non Sonett is the way many of the pieces function less as fully determined compositions and more as open frameworks: starting points, suggestions, or “springboards” for music. These structures invite response rather than prescribe outcome, relying on the ensemble’s inherent sensitivity and capacity to realize and transform the material in performance. The result is music that feels both precise and fluid, shaped in equal measure by composition and by the interpretative presence of the players.

Central to this album is a continued deepening of Wallumrød’s long-standing interest in ambiguity and in dissolving boundaries between different musical elements and expressive worlds. By placing contrasting materials and associations side by side—sometimes subtly, sometimes more overtly—the music opens up spaces where meanings remain fluid and interconnected. On Non Sonett, this approach is taken a step further, allowing these juxtapositions to play an even more active role in shaping the music’s character and flow.

This approach connects closely with the ensemble’s broader artistic trajectory. Over time, the Christian Wallumrød Ensemble has developed a language that is immediately recognizable—marked by reduction, clarity and a deep attention to sonic detail. While each release has its own character, the underlying aesthetic remains consistent: a focus on the inner life of sound itself. Rather than foregrounding gesture or virtuosity, the music draws the listener toward the smallest elements, where meaning emerges gradually through texture, spacing and timbre.

The listening experience becomes one of concentration and proximity, where each sound carries weight, and the accumulation of detail forms a larger whole. "Human Poultry" is an observation of the situations, emotions and characters the band encountered during their first two years together in Glasgow. It questions how we spend our time and how that decision is influenced by external factors. Conscious Pilot are Joe Laycock (vocals & guitar), Emmy Leishman (guitar & vocals), Jack Sharp (bass & vocals) and drummer Chris McCrory, who recorded and mixed the album together with Seth Evans (Black Midi, Shame, Geordie Greep) and Adele Phillips (Fontaines DC) at Rak Studios in London - Felix Davis (Geese, The Vaccines) then put his masterful touch on it. Die Band Touch Girl Apple Blossom aus Austin komponiert Songs, die dich direkt ins Herz treffen. „Ranjha“ ist das neue Album und die Zusammenarbeit des preisgekrönten Komponisten und RadioheadGitarristen Jonny Greenwood, des gefeierten Komponisten und Musikers Shye Ben Tzur und des indischen
Ensembles The Rajasthan Express. Das Album ist der Nachfolger ihres gefeierten Debüts „Junun“, das
gerade sein zehnjähriges Jubiläum feierte. Während „Junun“ in einem provisorischen Studio im Mehrangarh
Fort aus dem 15. Jahrhundert in Rajasthan, Indien, aufgenommen wurde, entstand „Ranjha“ in einem
intimeren Rahmen – in Jonny Greenwoods Studio in Oxford, England.
Zum 10-jährigen Jubiläum von „Junun“, das von der Kritik hochgelobt wurde – unter anderem als Album
des Jahres von der Sunday Times, die es als „eine der inspiriertesten Veröffentlichungen des Jahres“
und „faszinierend, vielschichtig und unbedingt hörenswert“ bezeichnete –, veröffentlichte BMG am 16.
Januar 2026 eine Sonderausgabe des Originalalbums. Die Entstehung von „Junun“ wurde vom gefeierten
Filmemacher Paul Thomas Anderson dokumentiert und bietet einen intimen Einblick in den kreativen
Prozess und den pulsierenden Alltag während der Albumproduktion. „Ranjha“, das am 8. Mai 2026
erscheint, wird als spezielle rote und korallenrote Splatter-Vinyl-Edition im Gatefold-Cover sowie als CD
erhältlich sein. Das Album enthält elf brandneue Tracks, die den charakteristischen interkulturellen Sound
der Band mit einem modernen Touch verbinden. Es erscheint kurz nach der vielbeachteten Radiohead-Tour,
die Ende 2025 zu Ende ging.

Aufgenommen 1971 in den Chappell Recording Studios in London, während seines Exils, erschien „Transa“,
das sechste Studioalbum von Caetano Veloso, im Januar 1972. Das sieben Stücke umfassende Werk wurde
vom britischen Künstler Ralph Mace produziert; die musikalische Leitung übernahm Jards Macalé, der auf
„It’s a Long Way“ zudem Gitarre spielt.
Die Band bestand aus Áureo de Souza (Schlagzeug), Moacyr Albuquerque (Bass), Tutty Moreno (Perkussion) und Jards Macalé (akustische und elektrische Gitarre). Außerdem wirkt die damals 22-jährige Angela
Ro Ro mit, die Caetano Velosos verführerischen Schlusstitel „Nostalgia (That’s What Rock’n’Roll Is All
About)“ mit ihrem charakteristischen Mundharmonikaspiel bereichert. Diese Zusammenarbeit gab der jungen Künstlerin entscheidenden Auftrieb für ihre weitere Karriere.
Musikalisch ist das Album von einer rockigen Grundhaltung geprägt, in der zugleich Velosos zentrale
Einflüsse anklingen: die MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) sowie die Klangwelt Bahias. Dennoch bleibt eine
feine Melancholie spürbar, wie sie bereits sein erstes Londoner Album „Caetano Veloso“ (1971) kennzeichnete.
Veröffentlicht wurde das Projekt mit einem auffälligen, dreifach aufklappbaren Cover, bei dem Booklet
und Hülle eine Dreiecksform bilden. Der bahianische Schauspieler und Theaterregisseur Álvaro Guimarães
prägte dafür den Begriff „Discobjeto“; gemeinsam mit Aldo Luiz entwickelte er das markante grafische
Konzept.

Mit "We Will Survive This" veröffentlichen 1816 ein Album, das seine Kraft aus Verletzlichkeit, Beharrlichkeit und leiser Zuversicht schöpft. Die Band - bestehend aus der Sängerin Wenche Losnegard, dem Bassisten und Hauptkomponisten Audun Ellingsen, Cellisten Gregor Riddell und Schlagzeuger Erik Nylander - knüpft an ihr gefeiertes Debüt an und vertieft die charakteristische Verbindung aus Kammermusik, Jazz und alternativer Pop-Sensibilität. Der Name 1816 verweist auf "das Jahr ohne Sommer" - ein historisches Sinnbild für Umbruch, Erschütterung und Überleben. Vor diesem Hintergrund erforscht das Album Themen wie Unsicherheit, Entbehrung und die fragile Hoffnung in Zeiten, in denen die Welt aus den Fugen zu geraten scheint. Die Musik reflektiert diese Stimmungen, ohne sie direkt zu kommentieren: stille Passagen treffen auf dynamische Ausbrüche, offene Formen auf dichte Klangszenen. Dritte Wahl ist eine deutschsprachige Punkrock-Band aus Rostock, die sich gegen Ende der 1980er-Jahre gründete. Die Band spielt Deutschpunk mit deutlichen Metal-Einflüssen und singt sehr direkte, politisch-kämpferische, linke Texte, für die es zu DDR-Zeiten die damals üblichen staatlichen Repressalien gab. 1996 veröffentlichte Dritte Wahl mit "Nimm drei" ihr drittes Album. Es wurde in Braunschweig im Whiteline Studio von Uwe Golz (auch Gitarrist bei Daily Terror) und Uwe Rust produziert. "Nimm drei" bedeutete für die Rostocker einen deutlichen Schritt Richtung mehr Professionalität. Das druckvolle Album hebt sich soundmäßig markant von den beiden früheren Werken "Fasching in Bonn" (1992) und "Auge um Auge" (1994) ab. Es wird durch sehr groovige und gitarrenbetonte Songs charakterisiert. Dazu gibt es einen steten Wechselgesang der beiden Frontmänner Marko "Busch"n" Busch (Gesang, Bass) und Gunnar Schroeder (Gesang, Gitarre). Komplettiert wird das Trio durch Krel (Drums), der die Songs mit seinen mitreißenden Beats stetig voran treibt. Auch heute stehen einige Tracks dieses Albums auf jeder Setliste der tourfreudigen Band.

In the early 1970s, Roy Ayers formed his own band: Roy Ayers Ubiquity. Its lineup included artists well known to funk and soul fans such as Bernard Purdie, James Mason, and Edwin Birdsong.



This 1973 album presents Roy Ayers in the midst of a creative evolution toward a sound increasingly influenced by soul and funk, moving beyond the early phase of his musical career, which was more rooted in orthodox jazz.

On “Red Black & Green”, he teams up with highly accomplished collaborators such as keyboardist Harry Whitaker, arranger and producer William S. Fischer, and Strata-East musicians Charles Tolliver and Sonny Fortune. Here, however, the latter two do not venture into the spiritual jazz sounds so characteristic of their own recordings; instead, together they embrace a sophisticated funk groove where Ayers showcases his extraordinary vibraphone talent.

The album includes outstanding versions of ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ and ‘Day Dreaming,’ as well as original compositions such as ‘Cocoa Butter,’ ‘Rhythms of Your Mind,’ and the superb title track, ‘Red Black & Green.’

Reissue of South African pianist Abdullah Ibrahim's classic 1986 LP Water From An Ancient Well on magenta coloured vinyl It features the pianist/ composer with a very strong septet, including such superior musicians as tenor saxophonist Ricky Ford , altoist Carlos Ward , baritonist Charles Davis, and trombonist Dick Griffin who are heard at their most creative and emotional on these eight Ibrahim originals. With this seventh instalment of retweaked heat, Perro Bueno Edits once again prove that less is more when you know exactly what you're doing. Both refixes strike a sweet spot between respectful crate-digger sensibility and dancefloor punch while updating Afro-funk classics without sanding off their soul. Resonant Duality is an album built around Kyouzon, the Japanese idea of coexistence, where duality and togetherness are always present. So Takahashi, originally from Yokohama, Japan, is a multidisciplinary artist who studied visual communication in New York. Since the late 1990s, he has been active as a composer and performer within electronic music, noted for his minimalistic melodies, sample manipulation, and unique sense of composition. Having released nine releases since 1999, he has lived and worked in Oslo, Norway in recent years, where "Resonant Reality" marks his tenth release. Charles Lynch, born in Tours, France, began his musical journey with classical piano at an early age before expanding his studies to art, visual communication, and design in Paris. Under the artist name A Saner Lynch, he has released two classical music albums, blending his background in classical performance with a contemporary artistic sensibility. The two musicians met in Oslo, Norway, a decade ago. Their shared interests in both classical and electronic music led them to collaborate, merging their distinct backgrounds and creative visions. Together, they compose music that reflects their combined influences, bridging the worlds of classical tradition and electronic innovation.

Laurel Halo returns with an album of original soundtrack music, composed for the film Midnight Zone by visual artist Julian Charrière. Following the path of a drifting Fresnel lighthouse lens as it descends through the Clarion-Clipperton Fracture Zone — a remote abyssal plain in the Pacific Ocean, rich in rare metals and increasingly targeted for deep-sea mining — the film traces a descent into one of Earth’s last untouched ecosystems.


Charrière’s film reveals the deep not as void, but as a luminous biome teeming with fragile life: bioluminescent creatures, swirling schools of fish, and elusive predators. The suspended lens becomes an abyssal campfire, attracting species caught in the tides of uncertainty, their futures hanging in the balance.


Echoing this tension, Halo’s compositions evoke a sensory freefall, where gravity falters and light and sound flicker in uncertain rhythms. Midnight Zone is a sonic drift through the space between what we seek to extract, fail to understand, and must protect.


Halo’s score evokes the life that exists beyond our physical airbound capacity. The material features long, subtle passages of electro-acoustic ambient, drone and sound design, slowly flowing and unfolding with rich detail. The music, composed largely on a Montage 8 synthesizer and Yamaha TransAcoustic piano at the Yamaha studios in New York City, possesses an uncanny quality: that of synthetic waveforms being amplified and sung through the stringboard of the physical body of the TransAcoustic piano. Combined with stacks of violin and viol da gamba, the music on Midnight Zone possesses trace elements of a human hand in an otherwise sunken landscape. Patient, submerged, and alive. The film is central to Charrière’s current solo exhibition Midnight Zone. The exhibition engages with underwater ecologies, exploring the complexity of water as an elemental medium affected by anthropogenic degradation. Reflecting upon its flow and materiality, profundity and politics, its mundane and sacral dimensions, the solo show acts as a kaleidoscope, inviting us to dive deep.

Romanian producer Barac has long been regarded as one of the key figures in the country’s minimal and microhouse continuum, known for his hypnotic, deeply detailed sound and for shaping a distinctive artistic identity around rhythm, space, and subtle emotional tension. What makes this release so special is its balance of restraint and depth. The grooves are understated but powerful, the atmospheres weightless yet emotionally charged, and the overall flow simply brilliant. It is exactly the kind of record that shows why Barac remains such an important name in contemporary minimal and deep club music: few artists can create this level of hypnosis with such finesse.
