Released on November 14, 1989, Ministry's fourth album, The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste, blends industrial metal with thrash and electronic elements. American standard-bearers for glam rock and important precursors to punk rock, New York Dolls reunited (at the personal request of longtime fan Morrissey) nearly three decades after their early-1970s heyday. Original Dolls David Johansen and Syl Sylvain still have all the sass and swagger of their prime on CAUSE I SEZ SO. Todd Rundgren had helmed the band's debut and returns in the same capacity for this 2009 Atco album, helping the quintet push its sonic envelope a bit beyond the Stonesy racket of yore. A reggae-tinged reworking of their '70s classic Trash may be the most striking example of this, but the beautiful pop melody of Lonely So Long and the propulsive R&B of Nobody Got No Bizness show the Dolls can wear any style and make it look great. We'll give CAUSE I SEZ SO another spin in memory of the band's drummer Jerry Nolan, who passed away on this day in 1992.

The Blue Moods of Spain is the 1995 debut album by the band Spain, led by Josh Haden. It features tracks such as Untitled #1, and World of Blue. The band included Evan Hartzell on drums, Merlo Podlewski and Ken Boudakian on guitar. The album was released by Restless Records and marked the beginning of the band’s recording career.

Recorded during Zevon's second comeback in the years 1991-1995, Learning to Flinch (Live) features live versions of hits like Excitable Boy and Werewolves of London, with a more stripped-down sound. The electronics sometimes become completely one with the piano, but often follow an entirely different path: at times calm, subtle and refined; at other times nervous and under the surface. Always within specific atmospheres and with precise timing.

MJ Lenderman writes songs that are amorphous and elastic, rising to fill the venue they"re in, generous to accommodate the number of players on stage, less concerned with replicating the studio version than they are with meeting the crowd where they"re at. On And the Wind (Live and Loose!), the Asheville-based Lenderman handles most of the playing, but with The Wind, it"s a multi-headed beast. This live album is culled from sold-out summer 2023 shows on a brief headline run during what some might call a wild-*ss couple of months. In a changing, unpredictable and turbulent world, something we can always rely on is a new Orb album, with the next holiday-for-the-head never far away. On what is quite possibly the millionth longplayer helmed by electronic lifer Alex Paterson; partnered with the now firmly-entrenched boy wonder Michael Rendall; the inspirationally productive outfit yet again deliver the goods, with one of their best yet.

Wrong Filament embodies Robert Piotrowicz's creation of fictional traditional music - not studied but invented, a utopian and oniric construct that becomes tangible in sound. These imagined traditions act as communal forces of music-making, resisting dominant structures of power.

The album unfolds in six dense compositions built on rhythm, repetition and minimal melodic gestures that draw on archetypal patterns of Eastern European traditions. Entirely synthetic yet strikingly instrumental in character, they develop as autonomous sound events, expanding into multi-part forms that evoke the physicality of ensemble performance - as if played by an imagined community of musicians.

Rather than reconstruction, Piotrowicz invents forged dances - a pre-techno of sorts, where complex meters and dense textures point to a parallel history of collective sound beyond industrial uniformity. They imagine a utopian and fictional genealogy of collective sound: one where industrial modernity yields to more unstable, communal energies.

This is celebratory music with invocatory charge: calls to dance, echoes of ceremony, microtonal melodies shaped by emotional weight, and traces of Eastern ornamentation stretched through synthetic means. Wrong Filament sacralises performance through sound alone, spinning a world where spectres of collective experience vibrate against the limits of rupture and resistance.

These pieces confront the traces of violence inscribed in body and memory, yet also affirm freedom, emancipation and integration. They manifest celebration, identity and resistance while opening a path toward liberation and shared needs that exceed social, private and intimate categories.

A mythical tune for all serious digital reggae collectors, finally reissued. The obscure Junior Khadaffy (various spellings!) released only a handful of tunes in the mid-late '80s, but all are fantastic. This one was cut for E&F Studios in the Bronx, ran by the late artist I-Plee. Stereo Fletcher happens to be family to I-Plee, producing several records by the artist for his own labels. But the works went both ways, and Stereo produced this one for release on E&F's in-house label. Slick but killer digital reggae, this one has always reminded us of the production style of Little Kirk's "Weed Them Out", a fantastic arrangement, great vocals and a complex head-nodding rhythm. The original press is extremely rare and the tune is simply too good to remain that way, so here it is, top top top shelf '80s digital, now available for all.

Adhémar’s first solo release on Oslated drives us into the geological matter of the mountains. Composed of an ecosystem of the artist’s own sounds, which unfold organically, “Mountain View” reveals the life of these alpine spaces. Between panoramic views, melting snow, birds chattering the pine trees and the rolling of stones, each detail places us in a different point of view.

it one of his more overlooked productions. The use of sampled television dialogue has been highlighted by several writers as innovative
for predating the sampler and for its unusual context, while the album was later influential on artists including Stevie Wonder and Holger Czukay.

one for Best Live Band. They have also received a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance.

An extremely rare Northern Soul 45 RPM single originally released in 1965 on the Holly label, Billy Arnell And The Sparkles "Tough Girl" was the product of two childhood friends that lived less than a block apart in suburban Fairlawn, New Jersey in the early 1960s - Billy Smith and Lou Hemsey.

Billy played guitar and sang; Lou played guitar and wrote songs, so they decided to form a band. They added friends Eddie Hoffman on organ and Jack Gullone on drums and began playing lots of gigs locally as Little Willie & The Sparkles. They were young, ambitious, and imagined themselves as the next Beatles. By a stroke of fate, they met Joe Martin of Apex-Martin Distributors in Newark, NJ, who caught the band's live show and was duly impressed. That meeting led to the recording session for the "Tough Girl" single. When they recorded the first version of the song, the producer wasn't happy, nor was Joe Martin - so he fired that producer and brought in the young, up and coming producer, George Kerr. Kerr didn't care much for the band, so they redid the entire thing without Hoffman and Guilone - with just Billy singing and Lou playing guitar.

The pair of old friends were buoyed by session aces Eric Gale on guitar, Bernard Purdie on drums, Bobbie Banks on organ, as well as a bass player whose name has been lost to time. In addition to those changes, they used the studio horn section that Hemsey arranged for, plus two trumpets, two saxes and two vibes players. The resulting single was an infectious amalgamation of rock and soul. Billy changed his surname to Arnell for the 45 release (because he thought it sounded more "show-biz") and the rest is pop history. Arnell later started a record company (Fire Sign Records) and purchased a recording studio (112 Greene Street Recording) in the trendy SoHo section of Manhattan with Steve Loeb.

As for the rest of The Sparkles, Hoffman became a teacher somewhere on Long Island, Guilone graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Massachusetts and ended up living in Northern New Jersey. Hemsey became a well-known recording engineer, composer (Lou was the one who wrote "Tough Girl"), guitarist, arranger, orchestrator, editor, film director and producer for records and commercials.

Produced by longtime collaborator Simon Dine, MKII captures a band reinvigorated, delivering their most confident and dynamic work to date. Die klanglichen Unterschiede zu den Originalveröffentlichungen sind beträchtlich: Größere Klarheit, mehr Feinheiten und Verbesserungen im Frequenzgang, zugleich
weniger Nebengeräusche, Verzerrungen und Komprimierungen ermöglichen ein audiophiles Hörerlebnis wie
nie zuvor.
Auf 180g Vinylplatten und in einer Deluxe-Gatefold Edition mit Originalcovers und -texten werden die
Exemplare dieser Serie limitiert und nummeriert veröffentlicht, begleitet von zusätzlichen Fotos und Faksimiles der Aufnahmeprotokolle und Bandkartons.

Bereits im Jahr des Erscheinens schrieb Richard Lehnert im Stereophile, dass Tord Gustavsen „mit seinem
ersten Album als Bandleader ein Instant-Klassiker gelungen“ sei. Lehnert bezeichnete Gustavsen zudem als
„Meister pianistischer Kontrolle und Zurückhaltung“ – Eigenschaften, die der norwegische Pianist schon
damals in höchster Vollendung beherrschte und seither in wechselnden ECM-Kontexten konsequent weiterentwickelt hat. Alle Qualitäten, die Gustavsen eine so unverwechselbare – und rückblickend auch prägende
– kompositorische Stimme verleihen, waren bei der Erstveröffentlichung von Changing Places im Jahr 2003
bereits vollständig präsent: Musik, die singt, zugleich zart und kraftvoll. Gustavsen schreibt Klänge, die
wie künftige Standards wirken: lyrische, unmittelbar einprägsame Stücke, von anziehender Frische, zugleich
von raffnierter Beschäftigung mit der melodischen Linie geprägt. Von Beginn an ließ sich Gustavsen von
Gospel und Chorälen inspirieren und verband diese Traditionen organisch, während das Trio innerhalb der
Strukturen frei improvisierte. Nun erscheint das Album erstmals als Teil der Luminessence-Serie auf Vinyl
– auf zwei LPs im Tip-On-Gatefold-Cover.

Luciano Pavarotti und Decca verband eine der längsten exklusiven Beziehungen zwischen einem Künstler
und einem Plattenlabel. Zur Feier dieses Vermächtnisses und seines 90. Geburtstags am 12. Oktober 2025
präsentiert Decca das ultimative Greatest-Hits-Album „NOVANTA”. Es enthält seine bekanntesten und
beliebtesten Arien und Lieder, legendäre Live-Mitschnitte einiger seiner größten Konzerte sowie Raritäten,
Neuentdeckungen und bisher unveröffentlichte Titel. Pavarotti war ein einzigartiges Phänomen und einer
der berühmtesten Künstler der Welt. Wie kaum ein anderer hat er es geschafft, die Welt der Oper einem
breiteren Publikum zugänglich zu machen. Das Album bietet nun die Möglichkeit, seine Darbietungen, die
die Welt begeistert haben, noch einmal zu hören.
Das 4CD-Set umfasst 75 Tracks und fast 5 Stunden Musik, davon eine komplette CD mit Bonus-Inhalten:
Raritäten und bislang unveröffentlichte Aufnahmen. Das Doppel-Vinylalbum und die 1CD Version dieses
Albums bieten mit 25 bzw. 20 Tracks eine kleinere, aber ebenfalls umfassende Auswahl aus Pavarottis
Schaffen. Auch hier gibt es spannende Neuentdeckungen und selten veröffentliche Aufnahmen zu hören.

Diese Session aus dem Jahr 1957 gilt als eines von Dizzys besten Treffen mit den Jazztitanen Sonny
Stitt und Sonny Rollins. Gerüchten zufolge ließ Trompeter Gillespie die beiden Saxofonisten vor der Session spielerisch gegeneinander antreten, was die Messlatte höher legte und zur Entstehung eines heute
legendären Albums führte. Ray Bryant (Klavier), Tommy Bryant (Bass) und Charlie Persip (Schlagzeug)
begleiten Gillespie, Stitt und Rollins auf diesem Meisterwerk

Aufgenommen 1963, ist das Album nicht nur als zeitloses Meisterwerk der Bossa Nova relevant, sondern
auch ein Evergreen dieser überwältigend schönen, melancholischen Musik. Jobim, der zu den Begründern
der Bossa Nova gehört, nahm für sein Verve-Debüt seine damals noch jungen Hits “Corcovado,” “The Girl
from Ipanema”, “Agua de Beber” u.a. auf. Er ist an Gitarre und Piano zu hören, Claus Ogerman liefert
subtile Arrangements.

Für NEMO ist Musik machen ein kreativer Spielplatz, auf dem man sich mit spektakulären Performances
und vielschichtigen Kompositionen ausdrücken kann und gleichzeitig eine wichtige Plattform für Themen,
die mehr Rampenlicht verdienen. „Ich schreibe über Dinge, die mir wichtig sind. Als Mensch der sich nonbinär identifiziert, nährt sich mein Antrieb auch daraus, mich für die Rechte der Community einzusetzen
und Gender Identity, Diversität und Selbstakzeptanz normal werden zu lassen.“
Nachdem der Schweizer Act 2024 die ESC-Herzen erobert hat, ging Siegertrack „The Code“ durch die
Decke und meldete Edelmetall und Streams im dreistelligen Millionenbereich. Seitdem feiern Fans und
Clubgänger Folgebanger wie „Eurostar“ und „Casanova“ aber auch fragilere Songs wie „Unexplainable“,
mit dem NEMO beim Finale des ESC 2025 zu sehen war.
Es ist ein sinnlicher Mix aus Charme, Mut, Energie und Anspruch, der NEMO in die erste Liga der aufregendsten Popacts des Kontinents katapultiert hat und das Aufsehen um das Debütalbum ARTHOUSE
