We are very happy to welcome back Mr. Rick Wade on the 25th RAWAX MOTOR CITY EDITION!
It's almost the 4th release form Rick Wade on this series, which is dedicated to the Love for Detroit Music and
in our opinion the strogest so far!

The band was formed in 2019 from an idea of musicians who at the time were part of acts such as Black Rage, In-sight, Atlas Pain and Sojourner. After a debut show supporting Asphyx and some line-up changes, the band entered the studio to record their debut album "Front: Toward Enemy" in 2020. After its release in 2021, HUSQWARNAH kept themselves busy on the live front, sharing the stage with acts such as Mortuary Drape, Baest, Discharge, High On Fire and Voivod. The latter show was recorded and then independently released under the title "Live At Bloom" in 2023. HUSQWARNAH's death metal is as genuine and convincing as it can possibly get, paying homage to certain traditional formulas dating back to the early nineties, with songs that are particularly compact in structure and dynamics, ideal for being performed live and thus reminiscent of bands such as Asphyx, Bolt Thrower and Benediction. "Purification Through Sacrifice" is a title that reflects the intent of the band to evolve musically, the themes range, as in the previous chapter, from films to crime news stories through visionary and bloody episodes. This time the sound is further enriched with technique and violence while remaining faithful to old school death metal.

Section 25 release their 10th studio album ‘Move On’ via Nine X Nine records. Originally formed in Lancashire in 1977 they are best known for their work with iconic Manchester label Factory Records. Fusing elements of post-punk, electro and synth-pop their sound is unmistakable and influential. ‘Move On’ has optimism at its core. It is a reflection of the past and a meditation on the present. Emotionally engaging with the here and now by understanding what has passed. Section 25 have built a lasting legacy as one of Britain’s most important bands in electronic music. Younger audiences may be familiar with their work through it being extensively sampled, including by Kanye West. The band were also namechecked in LCD Soundsystem’s breakout single ‘Losing My Edge’.

Visionary art-pop duo Faux Real (a.k.a. Los Angeles-based Franco-American brothers Virgile and Elliott Arndt) release their debut album "Faux Ever" on City Slang.

Hawksmoor’s new album ‘Oneironautic’ on Soul Jazz Records follows on from last year’s critically acclaimed ‘Telepathic Heights’, as well as a re-release of his album ‘Saturnalia’ on the Library of the Occult label earlier this year.
James McKeown, AKA Hawksmoor, continues his fascination with the sounds and sensibilities of 70s/80s German electronic groups – think early CLUSTER, HARMONIA, CAN, NEU!, HANS-JOACHIM ROEDELIUS and MICHAEL ROTHER.
On this new album ‘Oneironautic’, he successfully combines these pulsating ripples of Germanic electronica with a number of decidedly English references: the soaring, hypnotic and pastoral qualities of BRIAN ENO, circa ‘Another Green World’; the long, sustained lines of ROBERT FRIPP’S FRIPPERTONICS; and the poetic feel of early DURUTTI COLUMN.
McKeown combines all of these elements while also remaining with one foot firmly in the British melodic hauntological modular synth aesthetic of hauntology – Ghost Box, Mount Vernon Arts Lab, Focus Group et al.
Once again using strictly modular synths, electronic drum rhythms, and guitars, Hawksmoor has created an electronic landscaped music world that is both new and old, immediately identifiable and yet utterly unique.

DE MANNEN BROEDERS ist die erste Zusammenarbeit feat. Colin van Eeckhout und der flämischen Folk-Ikone Tonnie 'Broeder' Dieleman aus Zeeuws.
Ersterer ist der Frontmann der belgischen Post-Metaller AMENRA, einer Band, die für ihre überwältigende Härte in Sound und Gefühl bekannt ist.
Letzterer ist ein holländischer Folksänger, dessen Musik von der Kultur seiner seeländischen Heimat inspiriert ist und der bereits mit Baby Dee und
Bonnie Prince Billy zusammengearbeitet hat. Als die beiden sich trafen, spürten sie sofort eine Verbindung.
Das Ergebnis ist das 9-Track-Album Sober Maal (was übersetzt 'nüchternes Mahl' heißt und sich auf die Praxis bezieht, eine einfache Mahlzeit zu
essen, um Dankbarkeit zu üben), das unter dem Namen DE MANNEN BROEDERS veröffentlicht wird. Es wurde in weniger als fünf Tagen in der
Doopsgezinde Kerk aus dem 18. Jahrhundert in Middelburg in den Niederlanden geschrieben und aufgenommen.
Klanglich ist Sober Maal eine eindringliche, emotionsgeladene Reise, die sich in einer vergangenen Welt verwurzelt fühlt, aber dennoch völlig
eigenständig klingt und eine melancholische, aber dennoch hoffnungsvolle Note hat. Der Gesang von Colin und Tonnie verschmilzt mit dem Chor und
einer sparsamen Auswahl an Instrumenten, darunter ein Banjo, ein Klavier, eine Drehleier und die mächtige Zentralorgel - alles vermischt mit den
Klängen und dem Echo der Kirche.

JTQ experimentieren ständig mit verschiedenen Musikstilen, nach Soul- und Jazzalben, einem Chor- und einem Orchesteralbum, nehmen sie jetzt ein Funk-Rock-Album auf, das eigentlich die nächste The Prisoners-LP hätte sein können. Funky, teils punky Rock-Elemente wechseln sich ab mit Hammond-Funk-Instrumentals im Stil von Jimmy McGriff. James Taylor nahm viel mit Billy Childish und The Prisoners auf und fand es an der Zeit, seine Jazzband auch an diesem eher rock'n'rolligen Sound auszuprobieren. Während die Funk-Rock-Tracks auf BBC 6 laufen, spielt Jazz FM die Instrumentals.

Deicide ist eine der drei großen US-Death-Metal-Bands, zusammen mit Cannibal Corpse und Morbid Angel. Nach ihrem letzten Album "Overtures of Blasphemy", das 2018 erschienen ist, kehren Deicide nun mit ihrem neuen Werk "Banished By Sin" zurück.

Co-founder and ever-present member of The Chesterfields, Simon Chesterfield's first solo album "Simon Chesterfield" features the results of a year long project re-imagining six of his own compositons as an orchestral performance. Co-produced by Ben Scott Turner, Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey) and Simon Chesterfield, the album was orchestrated by Charles Harrison. An imaginative video of lead track "Something" available on Youtube will accompany this release.

An ensemble of Wessex musicians were gathered together for this project, several of whom have now signed up for some Simon Chesterfield live adventures, including a launch party for the album on Friday 11th October at the wonderful Lyric Theatre in Bridport, Dorset. Einmal im Jahr muss uns GOAT den Weg weisen - das selbstbetitelte neue Album im Oktober 2024! Der Ouroborus - also das Symbol der Schlange oder des Drachens, der seinen eigenen Schwanz frisst - erscheint den einen als Ausdruck der Brutalität der Natur. Für andere, die gnostisch veranlagt sind, symbolisiert er die Dualität des Göttlichen und des Irdischen im Menschen. Am häufigsten wird er jedoch einfach als Symbol für die endlosen Zyklen von Tod und Wiedergeburt verstanden, die das Leben auf diesem Planeten kennzeichnen. In der Welt von Goat, dem geheimnisvollen und immer wieder neu belebenden Kollektiv, das mit seinem neuesten Album ein weiteres Abenteuer jenseits dieser Ebene der Realität erlebt, ist dieses Bild von großer Bedeutung: Die Band, die bereits Alben mit den Titeln Requiem und Oh Death veröffentlicht hat, beweist mit ihrem gleichnamigen Album erneut, dass Transzendenz und Metamorphose ihre Leitmotive sind. Wie Brad Dourifs Figur Hazel Moates in dem Film Wiseblood von 1979 sagt: ,Wo du herkamst, ist nicht mehr da. wo du dachtest, dass du hingehst, war niemals. By 1973, Herbie Hancock already had both feet planted firmly in the future — some 50 years based on the vast, electronic funk he crafted during this period. How could he have known that this music would soundtrack block parties in the ‘80s and give ground to a burgeoning hip-hop culture? How could a man so steeped in the history of jazz be so untethered to form and genre that he created a sound all his own? Did he envision a world much like we’re living in now, where smartphones dictate our lives and musical compositions co-mingle without adherence to artificial marketing terms? Herbie likely wasn’t that prescient, but I wouldn’t doubt his genius. Based on the interplanetary trance funk of Sextant, his 11th studio album, such foresight wouldn’t be surprising. Then and always, Herbie was the master of the road less traveled. He was the light guiding his peers where they needed to go.

Back to Back captures the instrumental aspect of the ’67 Stax-Volt European tour (“Volt” is the name of Stax’s subsidiary label). Immediately apparent is that the live versions of these songs are played much faster than the recorded ones. Exuberant? Definitely! These folks were racing across unfamiliar cultures and landscapes, reimagining their place in this world, looking down at the clouds for the first time. The pace was faster because their lives were — quickly — getting so much larger. In these recordings, you can hear all of that emotional exhilaration, all of that savoring of personal respect, that thrill of the new. Many of these songs were several years old, but they shine on Back to Back like they’re being performed for the first time. Over and over, you hear the musicians throwing in something extra, curlicues and tangents that express their excitement.

With deep-fried grooves, astounding musicianship and a reverence for their history both in New Orleans and in Africa, this album has only felt more vital with age. While it didn’t sell as many copies as the record deserved at the time, it’s a product of these band members’ years of hard work gigging in sweaty night clubs, backing up other artists as session players and persevering through a thankless industry. Above all, it’s a testament to New Orleans.”

Let’s start with the scream. We tend to define our singers by how “great” their voice is, how deftly they can ascend and descend major and minor scales, and how they can turn up and turn down the emotion inherent in their voices. But when considering Wilson Pickett, it begins and ends with his scream. He could take you on a journey, he could butter you up, he could make you feel things in your vital organs, but you don’t get a nickname like “Wicked Pickett” because you’re a crooner.

Pickett’s “Hey Jude” forms the spiritual centerpiece and title track of hisfinal trip up to the mountain-top, his last true masterpiece LP. He’d take forays to Philadelphia for the new sound of soul, and even go vaguely disco in the late ’70s. But for his final album of the ’60s, a decade where he dominated the soul charts, he’d unwittingly help start southern rock, and scream his way across one of the most recognizable tunes in the history of song. Not bad for 31 minutes and eight seconds worth of music.

One of the most charismatic frontmen in modern bluegrass, Woody Platt has played an important part in shaping the trajectory of bluegrass music over the past 20 years. As a founding member and lead singer for The Steep Canyon Rangers, Platt spent years touring tirelessly, many of them in collaboration with actor/comedian and banjoist Steve Martin, earning a GRAMMY award, multiple GRAMMY nominations, and international recognition in the process. But when the pandemic struck, the time at home caused Platt to rethink his personal priorities. He decided to put his touring life on hold and left the Rangers to spend more time with his young family. Fortunately for bluegrass fans, the end of Platts tenure with The Rangers has marked a new chapter in his musical life, one that he is celebrating with the release of his first solo album, Far Away With You. The album cements Platts place at the cutting edge where traditional and contemporary bluegrass meet, and his smooth baritone vocals, coupled with his ear for lyrics with contemporary themes create a sonic palette that honors his bluegrass roots even as he cultivates new growth.

Gegründet Ende 1994 von den Sängern / Gitarristen / Schlagzeugern Conrad Keely und Jason Reece, hat sich "Trail of Dead" im Laufe der Jahre weiterentwickelt und ihre Besetzung erweitert, während sie weiterhin von den beiden Gründungsmitgliedern kreativ geleitet werden.
