After making some massive claims regarding electronic music last year which caused a stir in the dance music community, Mat Zo had a lot to live up to with his long awaited second album "Self Assemble". What didn't help was the fact that his first album, "Damage Control" was critically acclaimed by many within dance music and is now considered a modern-day masterpiece with mesmerising tracks such as The Sky and the massive Easy with Porter Robinson.Blending genres and sounds in a way only Zo can achieve, this record flows incredibly well as the tracks move from one to the other almost telling a story of the different styles of electronic music. At times the album is reminiscent of Zo's incredible Essential Mix from back in 2013 in the way that it progresses and constantly surprises the listeners. A lot funkier than Damage Control, it's no less incredible.
Beginning with the beautifully atmospheric "Order out of Chaos" which starts with an absolute wall of sound that boggles the mind in how Zo even went about designing something so complex, this sets the tone for the rest of the record in a cracking way. The melody soon crescendos and we're introduced in to the meat of the album with "The Enemy". Bringing out all the good funky vibes on this track, again Zo exhibits his insane production talents which are a staple of the album. Featuring vocals from the wonderful Sinead Egan, this is a great uplifting tune that'll no doubt have you dancing in your chair or in the club.
'Sinful" acts to continue the funky good-time vibes and transports us to a cool summertime drive. It has us yearning for happier times and again the guest vocals from I SEE MONSTAS go a long way in getting across this happy vibe. Featuring an uplifting almost french house inspired bassline and squelch synths that wouldn't look out of place on a Daft Punk or Madeon record, this is another stunning track from the record. "Patterns Emerging" feels like a bridge into the next section of the album and is unfortunately short. The orchestral element really brings out the emotion on this track and we only wish it was longer. "Killing Time" has those classic chopped up vocals that Zo uses to great effect and some nicely programmed drums that could be a nod to the drum and bass he used to put out under MRSA.'Smacked up on Jack" features some cool middle eastern sounds and a wacky vocal sample that helps to progress the album and keep the listener interested, again though we feel like it's a bit too short and are left wanting more. The next tune "Ruffneck Bad Boy VIP" is an absolute mammoth and one of our favourites off the record. Opening with an immense rhodes melodic sequence and after some nice vocals, the track rips into the electro house and dubstep infused banger that it really is. Some dirty, dirty sound design and drum production will have the dance floors going wild and shows us again why Zo is so good, it's a far cry from the funkier elements of the earlier stuff on the album and shows how Zo can show off a range of electronic sounds. "Lights Out" is a straight up hard hitting electro banger with an infectious vocal sample that only needs to be heard to be understood. Not much more needs to be said about it! Coming into the last section of the record, "Soul Food" returns us to the groove with an astonishing house beat and bass line that have us questioning how Zo makes it so hard not to smile listening to this album."Stereo no Aware" starts sounding like it's taken straight from a space movie epic and soon transforms into a goose bump inducing melody with a driving growling bass line that bring back the epic dubstep we all used to love a couple of years ago. Skrillex eat your heart out. Finishing off this record on a more emotional note, "Too Late" starts off like a guitar ballad and then transforms into something totally different. Egan's melancholic vocals enhance this track to great effect and is all backed by Zo's lovely downbeat production until we're treated to a monster of a climax around half way through the track which will surely blow the cobwebs right off you. Zo says goodbye to us with the phenomenal "The Last Transmission" and what a way this is to close out an incredible sophmore album for the English producer. The melancholic piano chords are a subtle and pleasing way to close out this journey of a record. Mat Zo really has outdone himself here and we're really looking forward to hearing some of these bombs dropped live. Surely a contender for album of the year at such an early stage, yet again it's only the best delivered by Mat Zo.

The eight tracks on 'Versus' exemplify a remarkable cross-pollination of genres, a true testament to the intense, 'it takes a village' spirit of collaboration among the artists in the Wolf & Lamb aquarium.

The LP kicks off with "Real Love," an electronic duet with San Francisco's PillowTalk. A sparse, airy kick and lackadaisical, scale-climbing bass line complement a vocoder-drenched croon, evoking nothing less than an R&B version of Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works. In the album's next track, "Fo Porter," butter soft vocals from Voices of Black ("I want it/I need it/I just can't get enough/I hold it/I squeeze it/I just won't give it up") complement lush orchestral arrangements, doing for hip-hop inflected dance music what Metro Area does for disco.

"In The Morning," an after the after party, hands to the air entry into the house of god, will instantly conjure up for those lucky enough to have visited the Marcy the familiar image of Gadi's hands feeling up the wall in ecstasy while Zev soldiers through the groove. "Weekend Affair," perhaps the real standout of an all-round exemplary album, punctuates stuttering, oscillating synths with a ferocious cowbell and moaned vocals, continuing a long-standing New York tradition of sexualized Downtown funk.

The gorgeous "Serpentine," with it's kettle-drum compression worthy of Phil Collins's "In the Air Tonight" and atmospheric vocals from French chanteuse Rap Lisa, is rounded out by the it's a perfect ending to the album, a moment of calm before the sharks, always on the move, start circling again.

Saft welcomes 'Nortasun' to it's expanding roster of artists. With not too much info being available about the artist, the music should do the talking. 'Nortasun' comes up with a sample drenched EP that consists out of swell basslines, mind expanding chords and outlandish percussion works. ''Untitled 1'' opens up with a carefully placed disco sample that hovers over the rhythms very nicely. The percussion section and the ascending chords serve the overal ambiance while Nortasun plays with the extended loop pattern that maintains of interest. ''Untitled 2'' serves as a very deep but functional voyage into tribal territory. A vary of percussion sets in and smartly exchanges tones with FX cuts. On the B side ''Fudge Fingas'' debuts on SAFT with an atmospheric beast of a remix for ''Untitled 1'' that constantly grows and cleverly uses vocal cuts that change up the original atmosphere and makes the overall a very broad work of house music. The Stevie Wonder like clava hit + piano solo's that come in when the remix progresses are all in courtesy of the Edinburghian producer himself.

A1 'LayDown' original Kalyma teams up with his friend, singer and songwriter Peter Stanowsky. The song was written during a relaxed and loose jamming session in late summer time at their home studio.The vocal performance is surrounded by a groovy and very percussive beat. Ep number four of this series of eight remastered tracks with remix-tributes to the techno legend Christian Morgenstern is here, and kicks off with D_func's remix of Steigreider on side A. Creating a warm grayscale atmosphere, the track is carried by a heavy sub kick groove that's saturated with the modern industrial energy that proves Kowalski's skills as a techno craftsman. As a contrast, Jeroen Search's remix of Aces High on B1 is a more minimal interpretation, carried by a slowly developing beat and playing skillfully with the most recognisable elements of the original. The final track, a remastered version of Morgenstern's Lydia To The Edge Of Panic is a timeless classic, painting a Morgenstern-typical distant and dream like landscape and opening up into a widescreen chord progression, with an epic build up.

The Seven EP is coming from none other than Electric Indigo, who is pushing things forward in the electronic music scene since the early ninetees.
She also hosts the network female pressure , which tries to make female artists more visible and therefore holds a data base with information about many of them.
The A 1 track Sept is a journey through soundscapes and a club track at once. There are unbelieveably many details to discover.
Siete on A 2 is on the edge of an Ambient and Techno. A tremendous kickdrum becomes the centre of the rich atmosphere.
On B 1 Tensal hands over his interpretation of Sept . This track is up for the peak time on the big floor.
On B 2 Hagen Richter, who is running the label, also remixed Sept . This track combines melodies with a heavy snare drum.

This is the remix edition of Dino Sabatini's recent second album "Omonimo" (April 2016, Outis Music).Like the recent album, this EP "Concentrica" features renowned Italian veteran pianist/accordionist Antonello Salis on the tracks "If" and "It All Ends Here", albeit here in different versions. Out of these two tracks the former is on "Concentrica" reworked by Dino Sabatini and the latter in a collaborative live variation between Salis and Dino Sabatini. Simultaneously with the announcement of "Concentrica" was it announced that Dino and Antonello are launching their new live project: Dino Sabatini & Antonello Salis present 'Electronic Opera Concentrica'. Howie B is veteran producer mainly known as a purveyor of early trip hop, having produced cuts from Tricky's debut album, Björk's "Post" and "Homogenic" as well as other major like U2.
After inaugurating the 'Opera' sub-series of his Outis Music label with the sublime 'Omonimo' double LP this April, Dino Sabatini has invited some choice allies to help define the vocabulary and expand the vision of the new imprint. The aforementioned album, which wove together Sabatini's atmospheric conjuring skill with the piano flourishes of Antonello Salis, already exhibits the label's commitment to dismantling the 'either-or' logic of contemporary genres by successfully merging a variety of supposedly irreconcilable styles, talents, and worldviews (e.g. both mythological and the technological perspectives). The follow-up EP, 'Concentrica', draws on the material from 'Omonimo' and delivers it into the hands of additional remixers in order to continue the Outis Opera voyage.

The new Analog Solutions 018 , label owned by the Spanish producer Eduardo de la Calle, will be released in May.This time presenting a various artists, by Kristina and ORBE, that combine an ep with a personal character, full of floating arrangements and inherently techno flavor, but sophisticatedly Dub. It seems that the label Analog Solutions will take refuge next references on collaborations lauching a series of various artists so better to be alert .

Different artists will take the place like Japanese Takairo Oishi, already on catalog reference 015 from the spanish label, and also appear in the reference 019 coming soon.

The novel but solid Kristina opens side B1 with his tool "Hydragea", where again, based dub elements, manages to build a disciplined rhythmic atmosphere , at the same time delicate, and that will delight lovers techno more fluctuating.

Following on from the first release that featured renowned Scandinavian artists such as Prins Thomas, Mental Overdrive, Urhaug, Nordenstam, Christian Tilt and Hutmacher, the label's next outing sees five more
members of the local scene make appearances.
First up, promising newcomer Saftronic drops the chuggy 'Exit', incorporating soaring synths and spellbinding atmospherics, before PLOINK founder Thomas Urv, who's also preparing the label's debut album, delivers a dense low-end and infectious whirrs in 'Set Lucky'.

After the first Ricardo Tobar remix edition (featuring remixes by John Tejada and Fairmont) on Cocoon Recordings we are proud to present the next chapter with remixes by Lawrence and Midnight Operator (Mathew and Nathan Jonson). 2016 seems to continue as we started it: With high quality music by great artists presenting us amazing techno in an unique and tasty style. After his successful debut album SUPER VATO (CÓMEME CD LP 01) from two thousand eleven, his highly praised mix CD MOMENTO DRIVE (KOMPAKT CD 117) from two thousand fourteen, and all-around mayhem during his adventures as one half of the Pachanga Boys, Xalapa's finest REBOLLEDO returns with his second solo album MONDO ALTERADO: a recollection of moments and experiences from recent years, colorful mnemonics encompassing the brightest and the darkest. The result is a kind of soundtrack for a movie that doesn't exist, a sonic journey designed like a mixtape that faithfully reflects Rebolledo's background as DJ and producer. Nine tracks connect for one overarching narrative, sharing elements, motives, details as they blend together. The artist's signature can be found all over the place, roaming between straight, rock-drenched drumming, sinister atmospheres, raw synth textures, exciting peaks and foggy bottoms - but always following this kinetic flow and drive which is such a big part of Rebolledo's compelling charme.

he second time around: fred p aka fp-oner is back on mule musiq with another record that demonstrates the many cosmic qualities of his deeper shade of soul.
it is the second part of a trilogy that features his detailed sonic landscapes that are full of mystery and power. while his last fp-oner album 5' was leaning more to the jazzier, relaxed and atmospherically side of his artistically deep house expressions, the runner-up grinds even deeper into spherical worlds that enhance deep meditative highs.
they are not made for club use only. in fact all eleven compositions work also massively without big speakers. again the new york city native that is working on his very own music for almost 20 years produced a journey inwards that is compelling, mesmerising and enchanting.
you find cosmic dust in it as well as dark entropies, percussive power, sweet seducing melodies and rolling bass power that shakes your inner and outer profoundly. the tracks are listening to names like awakening co creator', alternate reality' or adjusted perception' and the album title 6' stands for a meaning,

all tunes are produced around the world, as he is a guy who never stops feeling in sound. that is why he caries his studio around to get up in the middle of the night or right in the morning after a sweaty party to transfer his emotions directly into sound. the result is massively powerful music with slow, intimate passages for treacly melodies, stirring synth-lines and little rhythmical quaintness.
an almost lyrical house journey that works like a musical sculpture in which organic machine grooves float along keys on air. the evolution of the each track is impeccable and their power grows with any new listening session. fp-oner himself characterizes his art like that: 'my music is designed to enhance deep meditative, or altered states, to allow the listener to personally connect to the creator of all that exists in the universe.
my music style is to first create a foundation using cyclic, polyrhythmic music, then build several layers of improvised leads and rhythms that allows you to transcend time and space... we have memories of past lives that reverberate in our hearts like echoes from ancient caves'.
there is nothing more to add, except that those who do not know fp-oner so far should know that he danced in his younger years in legendary new york city clubs like the red zone, sound factory or tunnel to dj sets of larger-than-life selectors like david morales, frankie knuckles or danny tenaglia.
during those nights he learned that sometimes less is more. and that he should rather listen to your heart and soul, then to the susurrus of the music market. most of the eps and albums that he produced under his other monikers like fred p or black jazz consortium have been released via his very own label soul people music, which exists since more then ten years.
as fred p he also dropped 12inches on jus-ed's underground quality imprint as well as on toshiya kawasaki's mule musiq label. for the latter he now is working on a trilogy under the fp-oner alias. this little paper introduces the second part of it. the final one will hit your heart and soul in an unwritten future. whatever circumstances of life will be around by then: you can be sure that fp-oner will transfigure them into a dynamic emotional and spiritual terrain.

Kevin Arnemann and Daan Kemp's Taped Artifact label clocks up its fourth release with a three track offering from Outlaw Rec boss and key part of the Italian Serendipity club, namely Matthew Oh. Matthew has previously released on his own label and others like Side Off, and eloquently marries dub, techno and house into smooth and sensuous sonic landscapes. The opening track 'Psycho Hub' is an atmospheric and spacious roller with dubbed out drums and pads, coupled with incendiary hi hats urging you along. 'Shroud' is seven minutes of slick and spaced out deep techno with liquid synths and clacking hits all racing along and making for a frictionless groove that sucks you right in. Finally, 'Get in the Fridge' slows the tempo down and becomes an even more widescreen and roomy roller with suspensory pads, smeared synths and aqueous sonic details that make you feel like you are floating in sound.

This is the third record of the Modern House Quintet.
This new one features one house/deep house track (A side) and a more 'detroit-atmosphere' cut on the B-side.'Belle-Ile' opens with a filtered piano organ which responds to a massive bassline. The second part of the track introduces gradually a flute line, a trumpet sample and a layered pad.'Fountain' starts with a pad which is progressively defiltered and quickly joined by a bassline. The break introduces an acid bassline, supported by a string chord. All these elements blend together to create a Detroit atmospheric vibe.

Our next release is by a young Brussels based artist that will be a new name to most of you.
Foreign Material has been into music since his youth. After studying percussions at the Conservatory and graduating in history, his interest in dark atmospheres led him to techno music. The spirit of his music is a mix of ancient myths and futuristic visions. Conceptual music, both mystical and cosmic, with a link between past and future. Here's what he had to say about his EP:
"'Omega System' is a journey to deep space and beyond, to the unknown destinations allowed by the mythical and mysterious Omega relay that's been turning around Omega's red sun since ages. But beware, the path that you will follow is dangerous and nobody ever came back. Some say that you will find death. Others that you will find great treasures. But some wise people think you will finally find Truth."
On remix duties are label friends Hiver, also known for their residency at Milan's Dude Club. Whereas the original tracks are more deep and floating, the Hiver remixes will be of high interest to many a dancefloor, you can trust us on that one.

For the latest instalment in the Apollonia story we look to Argentina and the talented producer Federico Molinari. Having been based in Germany for the last couple of decades, Federico has refined his sound, developing a strong signature through his DJ sets and his studio productions, most of which he has released via his label OSLO. Federico's ability to craft effortless grooves and timeless rhythms is evident here on this killer new three-tracker. Side A is the eight-minute long roller 'Congo Toys'. The focus here is on a crisp 4x4 beat, which keeps things simple - under this lies a sturdy bassline. All the while, the low end is accompanied by a series of bleeps, which could almost be the chatter between two archaic computers, modulated and weaving in and out of the beats and bass. On the flip, we have two more dance floor-ready joints. Like ' Congo Toys, 'Tres Cuartos' is focused around a simple foundation, with layers of unusual effects - an overriding sense of playfulness comes through in Molinari's production, perfect for the boogie down crew. Last up, 'Joyfex' takes us further into leftfield, hypnotic, hazy atmospherics draw us into their web and we're tangled up in a mesh of vibrating whirrs and echoing, distorted voices. The warm dim light of the bedside lamp conjures up a kind of shadow theatre, sends the little stars on the ceiling into a spin, and fills the bedroom with a sense of profound peace. A small music box rounds out the evening atmosphere with soft little melodies. Perched at the side of his daughter's little bed, he watches over his little beat princess' slumber and her dreams, all while enjoying with satisfaction the unencumbered lightness of being at night...

The EP Hannah by the Leipzig-based beatmaker Duktus is a musical tribute to his three-year-old daughter and a personal instrumentalization of fatherhood.

A story told from Duktus' point of view in six different pieces, we can become part of little Hannah's world, as she plays in her room and runs around the playground, goes on adventures during the day and dreams at night.

In EP Hannah, Duktus casts his musical gaze backward in two different ways - both in terms of the experience of being a father and the moments, great and small, that this involves, as well as in terms of his musical influences over the past three years. This produces an atmosphere which, however, does not waver from Duktus' musical direction between uptempo broken beats and downbeat house grooves.

The EP Hannah cover was painted by Hannah herself at the age of two. And it is being produced in a complicated silk-screen process, printed in purple - Lila's favorite color! - on uncoated paper, making for a tactile homage to the little beat princess.

It is only a matter of time before Hannah discovers the record for herself as well. She already got her own record player as a present - from her dad, of course - and is a big fan of old fairy tale records. In the eyes and ears of a DJ and beatmaker, this is all a matter of early musical education.

The second installment of Almost There series is signed by Edanticonf and starts with a six minute ambient journey dedicated to the memory of Max_M. A luminescent constellation where bleeps an
sweet arpeggios saturate the atmosphere.

The other two tracks presented on this Ep describe the
typical sound of the italian producer: mellow grooves, organic melodies, slow progression and smooth hypnotic dynamics realized using a full analog setup.

Anenon is Brian Allen Simon, an artist and the founder of
the Non Projects record label. Constantly shedding the non-essential in search of a deep and individualized core, Anenon's music feels potent and refined, yet still raw. His work reaches audiences through speakers and venues where music is given serious consideration. An experimental artist using contemporary tools, Brian mines the intersection of electronics, jazz, improvisation and spiritual atmospherics.Simon has performed internationally throughout Japan, Europe and North America, sharing the stage with the likes of Morton Subotnick, Julia Holter, Laurel Halo, Baths and many more. He is a distinguished entrant of the 2011 Red Bull Music Academy and has guest lectured at CalArts. Alongside multiple LP's and EP's released on Non Projects, Simon has also released songs on Ghostly International, Innovative Leisure and Brownswood. October saw Anenon's debut on Friends of Friends with the 'Camembert' EP, an effort that will be followed with the 'Petrol' LP in 2016. Born out of a series of improvisational sessions with friend and collaborator Jon-Kyle Mohr, Anenon's 'Petrol' is an album about his native city of Los Angeles, but not the Los Angeles you know. In Anenon's mind, an Angeleno is 'one who understands the beauty of distance and the consistencies of irregularity' and those juxtapositions can be
found throughout 'Petrol', a spacious album that needs to be lived in to be believed. Those juxtapositions extend to the sonic makeup of 'Petrol', from the tactile bliss of opener 'Body' to the album closing title track's climactic bombast. Out March 4 on Friends of Friends, 'Petrol' is the culmination of years of work and a deeply refined sensibility,
a combination that seems to fit both label and artist like a glove.

2024 Repress

'Moonlight Music & You' was the second-ever release on Theo Parrish's now legendary Sound Signature label. This welcome reissue makes it available for all once more and reminds us of the early quality of Parrish's work back in 1997. 'Music' has swirling and humid pads, curious melodies and dusty, stripped-back deep house drums. It's a beautiful place to get lost. 'Moonlite' then picks up the pace but keeps the grainy, lo-fi feel with eerie chords and subtle vocal musings adding to the atmosphere.

Ark & Pit Spector continue their inspired journey with an extended EP full of groovy jams and absorbing rhythms for Hold Youth. The Frenchmen have formed a potent alliance with a series of expertly-crafted, high-quality releases dropping over the last couple of years. On this new EP they go deeper into their sound explorations with five original works and a remix from their Parisian buddy and Hold Youth member, Le Loup. First up, we go into bumping jazzy territory with 'Chauffage Central', a mesmerising cut with swirling pads, soulful vocal clips and a jaunty b-line. Straight up after that, Hold Youth rudeboy Le Loup gives 'Chauffage Central' a funky little rework, throwing live sounding percussion, Nubian vocal clips, trumpet parps and a pumping bassline into the mix which gives a totally different identity. The final track on side A, is a cheeky teaser called 'Petite Ondée'. Rolling out for just under two minutes the track has a muffled, jazz-esque feel to it with a warm rolling bassline and bright, sparkling piano keys.

On the flip we kick off with 'Air Conditionelle', a lush, retro feeling with those oh-so-familiar heavy-hitting eighties snare licks. The bassline takes you to a New York City street and the whole atmosphere is that of an old school NYC neighbourhood, while a spoken-word sample adds a human touch just before the track comes to an end. 'Sub Tropical' goes a little leftfield with an unusual combination of sounds in tandem with a pulsating low end, occasional sax licks and punchy percussion to give it plenty of energy. 'Averse Et Contre Tous' closes out the EP with a slothish ride into the sunset - Ark and Pit Spector show their experimental side presenting an odd union between blues samples, gruff electronic sounds and piano keys.

Another triumphant effort from Ark and Pit Spector, in fact, some of the finest work to date. Make sure you check it out!

The Links EP is Blackhall & Bookless' latest outing for their increasingly renowned Jaunt> Records imprint. A highly personal release, the EP is a homely affair, celebrating the boys' upbringing in Whitley Bay with a gusto that's indicative of the area's unique charm.A A "Links" serves up a dreamy, atmospheric landscape - and one that reflects the location around which the EP is titled. Don Williams' interpretation goes down the rabbit hole further still, teasing the listener thanks to a range of slashing echo chords and clever sub bass techniques. The duo's second original is "Vision", aAdark techno jam that manifests into a stunning tribal hypnodrome.AClosing out the EP is "Cognition", another highly atmospheric track that keeps the listener locked thanks to its many dexterous capabilities. The striking artwork, meanwhile, showcases a black and white image of where the pair would hang out as teenagers. Insula records delivers a solid follow-up to their first record, releasing a 4-track peak-time tripper by Alderaan. After appearing on Planet Rhythm and Weekend Circuit the rising Argentinian artist now brings his prolific atmospheric techno sound to the Dutch imprint. The 'Continuous Limit EP' is an uncompromising journey through syncopating bass-lines, spacious textures driven by heavy kicks that will shake the floor.

Quartz Rec is pleased to welcome the duo Doomwork based in Rome and well known for them amazing groove, there music is emotive and immersive with melodies and riff locked into rolling rhythms and subtle atmospherics. And its with no surprise that they are coming with an outstanding ep on Quartz Rec, first track « Nihil sine sole » super trippy track with some great congas slowly and this beautiful pad building a great atmosphere. Second track « memento » getting more into deep techno with class, tracks talk for itself. We have also two remixes, first one is from Ambivalent who deliver a big stomper techno mix ready to smash the dance floor, second is from Ness who bring a driving techno track melt with the pad from the original who will make lose yourself.

The first Late Night Tales release of 2016 is a very special project by Sasha.

Imagine listening to music inspired by Frahm, Richter and Steve Reich, but made by one of the UK's leading house and techno DJs. Away from the hubbub of the club, the craziness of Ibiza, there's a contemplative side to everybody. Forget the beats and the sweat and the billowing anthems; this quiet, undulating, at times pastoral piece is less about songs and anthems and more about texture and atmosphere. 'Scene Delete' is a side of Sasha you've never heard before. I love post-minimalist modern classical, I love to listen to something completely different that's quite hypnotic as well. It almost purges the system.

About three years ago, my collaborators David Gardner and ThermalBear and I wrote a song called 'Bring On The Night'. I sent it to Ultraista and within a few days she sent it back with this amazing vocal on, with Nigel Goodrich playing keyboards. We tried to do club mixes but we just couldn't get it right. So it sat there doing nothing.

Tracks like this kept building up, until finally last summer my frustration boiled over. We'd made so many tunes that I couldn't remember the names of half of them: What was that thing with a bass sound and a string line It drove me mental. At the same time as we were logging these tracks, I was listening to the Jon Hopkins' Late Night Tales and I thought a lot of the music we'd been working on was in the same vibe. So I sent the music over to Late Night Tales and they really liked it.

Initially, I thought we'd just do a Late Night Tales compilation with maybe a few pieces of my own music. But as we went through everything we'd worked on in the last two years, we realised we had about 50 pieces of music. So we started editing and compiling: 'Scene Delete' is the end result.' - Sasha, January 2016

Think of 'Scene Delete' as somewhere between a mix album, an artist album and a gentle stroll through the soundtrack in your mind. Make sure you switch off the lights before you enter.

Chicago based 'Chris Gray' has appeared on multiple releases throughout the 90s and the new millennium. While some of his most appreciated works have been published through his own imprint Deep4Life, for the next PULP release, Chris gets deep and melodious with some funked out synths whilst maintaining that lush deep atmosphere that has proven to be his signature mode.
FF-Fear is the emotive opener for the 12inch. A vast amount of cosmic goodness can be found throughout. PULP usual suspect 'DaRand Land' offers a spellbinding remix which takes one into deep territories through it's repetitive and lush composition.
FF-Freedom is the flipside opener, and another Chris Gray original. Again, a melodic trip to places unknown is offered.
FF-Fantasia is a more firm approach to the Chris Gray sound. Interesting key changes which show the compositional capabilities of the artist appear throughout. A very interesting break takes one back to the very essence of house music.

After the killer club versions of Bella Ciao, Leo Mas & Fabrice team up with Italian ambient master Gigi Masin to deliver the already legendary Laguna Mix.

As you probably know Gigi has worked on the label with Tempelhof (watch out for their sophomore album Tsuki...), has made albums as Gaussian Curve (with Young Marco and Johnny Nash) and has worked on many great modern classical albums.

His version is super slow, littered with emotive piano chords and breezy ambient atmospheres that make it perfect for sunsets.

Also on this 12", Leo and Fabrice combine once more for an On Air Remix that is invitingly sparse and gentle sways to and fro with gorgeous trumpets, twinkling keys and a slowly, blissfully building sense of Balearic tension.

Completing a quick fire trio of new EPs, Constant Sound hits release number six with a pair of new tracks from VRSION that come with a dance floor friendly remix from Persuader. VRSION is a German producer who has already made a big impact with his release on Craig Richards' excellent The Nothing Special label. Following up that in fine style is the opener here, 'Torn', which is a hurried and urgent track that sits on the divide between house and techno. It is driven and slick, rubbery and hypnotic but has plenty of nuance and funk in its well programmed drums. Some occult sounds and wordless vocals embellished the whole thing and it really is the sort of track that blows dance floors apart and will stand out in any set. 'Capricorn Meet Leo' then toys with kinked drum patterns, rattling percussion and fathom deep bass that sucks you right into VRSION's world. It's a restless place where harmonies ride up and down the scale, cause claps come at you from odd angles and dark vocals add a sense of paranoia. Remixing this one is Persuader, who does so with a stripped back sense of restrain. he retains the original's weirdness, but layers in serene pads and tripped out atmospherics that really make it ripe for playing at 4am. This is the most adventurous release yet for Constant Sound, and is sure to prove one of its bets as a result.

Italian rudeboy Ivan Iacobucci brings his brand of lowdown funk-influenced tech house to Apollonia with this sterling three-tracker. Over two decades of hard work and dedication to his craft has culminated in Ivan's untainted reputation and widespread respect within the underground from true heads like Zip and, of course, the Apollonia boys. His love of jazz in evident throughout this EP which is full of subtlety and depth, pulsating b-lines and smooth chords are interlaced with razor-sharp percussion and delicate keys. The first track 'Old In On' has a laid back, though driving, groove, pushing forward with a hefty bassline that is perfectly counterbalanced by the light twinkling keys and barely-there pads. 'Scris Frumos' encapsulates more of an ominous, tribal feeling with intricate effects trickling through every pore of its deep, dark exterior. Its atmospherics keep you intrigued, voices echo in the background and a few moments of softened chimes really intensify the already mysterious vibe. 'Mini Ass' channels more of that electro-funk that forms the foundation of Ivan's love for music, haywire radio pulses prance around stuttered beats, giving it a slightly cosmic feel, while pipes add a more organic nuance to the track. Absolutely masterful work from Ivan, and another inspired addition to the Apollonia catalogue.

Zusammen mit Pophop und J.Patterson hat er aus dem Track außerdem eine jazzige Downbeat Nummer mit verträumtem Trompeteneinsatz gezaubert.

Embracing Disco, Techno and House music in all its declinations, What Ever Not introduces now British artist Reformed Society, project started by house producer Harsh Puri as a consequence of djing and collecting records since 1998, debuting with a four track old school house EP, Optimistic Chaos coherently fitting with the Italian imprint philosophy. 'Hope' has that solar, yet dusty groove folding distorted rhythmics and joyful pads around an insistent lead dubby pattern and shimmering synths. 'Optimistic Chaos' is again smooth but lightly gloomy, until a pause intoxicates one's body and mind filling them with inebriating ambients. 'Incognito' delivers a deep driving atmosphere here, featuring dogged, crisp drums together with minimalist, yet momentary cosmic motives. For the closing cut 'Detracid', the artist cooks up a brew of acid lines with the usual charming synths and vivid hats, building a light sense of tension fired up by the warm, heady sound scapes. Each track is similar to the last, stiffening the musical timbre of the label, confirming the producer's strong artistic identity as a consequence.

All 4 tracks on AZMyellow have been slashing dancefloors all over the world via Azimute and few select friends for a while. Mammamia delivers Azimutes trademark minimalistic Techno sound with slick Reverberated snares and a relentless bassline to boot. On A2. Blizz' is beautiful piece of rolling Dub Techno with sultry strings that wash over the track and makes it complete. Meanwile on the flip side track B1. entitled Egonot is a stripped , Sci-Fi affair with a skipping drum groove & atmospherics running alongside pulsating synths flourishes and hypnotic vocal murmurs. Finally on B2.Amoreux is focused on a more melodic sound, expansive strings and pads are layered alongside an infectious metallic drum groove. If you love it underground and dub, this one's for you.
